After spending money and paying for all these items, the man will still have to endure dissatisfaction, limited care n attention, little sometimes no intimacy for months / years, no peace, no respect, neglect, malice and quarrels etc. Marriage is truly one sided..

My friends grandfather told my friend and I that whenever we re picking a wife.. We should ensure that the woman is beautiful because every other thing can be taught ,improved on or learnt in marriage but beauty is factory fitted.. Follow Come.. Because I know that there are beautiful ladies that are homely and Hardworking, it's absurd to think that a beautiful woman cannot give her man peace and train her kids properly. Some people may feel otherwise but for me beauty is as important as character.

When we tell men the importance of DNA tests on their kids especially on their first child, more importantly in cases where the lady gets pregnant before the wedding (which is more common these days) you see some folks saying "I love my wife"..." I trust my wife" ...."DNA test is for unbelievers" ..." DNA test is for simps"...."DNA test is not our tradition".... etc..... I just pity una.

Op so sorry you have to go through this, Talk to your dad or someone you trust that is not related to your wife, do your DNA tests, and ensure they check your wife's DNA too to check if the baby belongs to either of you, confront your wife with these findings. Do not tell your wife anything until the DNA test comes out. When the test is out, you can decide on how to proceed, to wait until she gives birth or telling her immediately is totally up to you but bear in mind that there can be no true healing if the truth is hidden especially since the baby is SS. Taking care of an SS child is a mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially draining venture even for the best of men. The Lord is your strength.

obviously we dont all have the same level of understanding so its normal to disagree..The story of Isaac is well-known and the notion that he had a perfect marriage with Rebecca is very wrong . Most times we feel that if something is ordained by God then there will be no challenges involved or unsavory outcomes which is utterly false. The only thing that worked was the kids they had.. Isaacs marriage had issues, the wife was a master manipulator... Sincerely I wonder why DNA testing should be a big deal. If nothing it certifies that the child that you claim is yours actually belongs to you which shouldn't be a surprise if there was no shady affair that led to the conception. Just same way a marriage certificate proves that the person you claim is ur wife or husband is legally married to you. Carrying out a DNA test doesn't mean your spouse doesn't trust you, it only provides a legal backing to your claim on the child.

DNA test should be made compulsory in every hospital to save one from stress biko.. I would allow it if we talk about it but going to conduct such test without my knowledge is a big No for me.
Come to think of it, some hospital do switch babies at birth right? What if there's a possibility of carrying someone's else baby home

That's why DNA test immediately after birth is very important... Cos the child will have none of the husband or the wife's dna if the baby was switched. Also people testing for dna should test both couples to be sure the child belongs to at least one of them to avoid accusing the woman of paternity fraud when it's a case of switched birth.

Until u experience what it means to have 24hrs electricity wey no blink for months... U won't understand how terrible the situation in Nigeria is

This is one area I find The church n religion culpable because so much energy is spent condemning demonising sex rather than educating its members on sex. People are taught from their youth to see sex and anything that relates to it as a sin, undignifing, unclean, unholy etc and when they eventually get married, they are still caged by those teachings. They can't talk about it even to their spouse talkless of their kids because they have being programmed to think its bad and unholy. Forgetting that we are created as sexual beings and God is the originator of sexuality.

Am I being unreasonable here? How can I make her realize she can be her own person and not have to depend on someone else to "sponsor" her? It just drives me nuts that she knows this about me but is now vehemently insisting that this is the only viable option.

She should workout her salvation o... Instead of seeking an easy way out... Let her work for it. Else she won't understand the effort you re making. There is only one choice... She should at least try the graduate route and if it doesn't work she keeps trying till it works. Don't let a woman or anyone force or blackmail you emotionally into marriage.. Your life will be hell...simply tell her that you only plan to get married in 3 years or more.. So if she wants to travel now she has to do the graduate route. The fact that she's not ready to listen to you now that she's not yet married to you is already a red flag. Also the fact that she is not ready to make effort towards her own growth and development is another red flag. The fact that she discarded your opinion as irrelevant and would only consider her own opinion as the only way out is another red flag. The fact that she is INSISTING that you go against your personal values to satisfy her desires is another red flag. You shouldn't force someone to go against their personal values no matter how insane you think the values are... only an inconsiderate person will do such a thing.
