Religion / Time For Proper Self Revaluation In Our Religion by adelee777: 4:34pm On Mar 17, 2019
We are just a dishonest, unpatriotic and ungodly human beings on the path of self destruction. A shame on our race.
I totally agree with the following by Bar Ola Kunle Allison:

Religion is not our albatross in Nigeria. It has never been. We are just a sick indigenous people blaming everything but ourselves.

I just saw a short documentary on CNN about the Emirate of Dubai (an Islamic State) and her many disruptive and record-breaking technological/innovative strides, and my heart sank into despair.

Dubai is NOT a country. It is just one out of seven emirates that make up the UAE. An Islamic country which declared independence from Great Britain in 1971. Yet, Dubai is the fastest growing Science and ICT hub in the world. Yes, you read that correctly; in the world!

As I watched the documentary and marveled at the unbelievable leaps in education, innovation and infrastructure achieved within 50years, I began to compare the emirate with our own Emirate of Sokoto and Emirate of Kano back home. Folks, the difference is a universe apart.

Did you know that the Emirate of Dubai has singlehandedly launched 2 satellites into Space?

Did you know that the last launched spacecraft had the innovative signature of a Dubai teenage girl on it? A teenager who dreams to be the first astronaut on Mars.

Did you know that by 2020 the Dubai emirate will be launching its first Mars Exploration Spacecraft?

Did you know that the Dubai emirate currently has the largest number of foreign research Scientists and ICT experts in the world?

This is a deeply culturally Islamic State prioritizing Science, Technology and Futurism. What then is different about their own practice of Islam and the ones we have here at home?

What is different about their practice of Islam which encourages a teenage girl to aspire to Mars while emirates at home marry off under aged girls?

What is different about their practice of Islam which prioritizes innovations and science, while even Churches back at home only prioritize buildings and tithing?

Guys, religion is not Nigeria's albatross. Anyone who argues otherwise is thinking fallaciously. Nigeria is messed up because we have our own issues.

Our orientation, our mindset, our value-system, our sociocultural ethics, our ways are deeply ANTIPROGRESSIVE!

I just saw men in Arabic gowns and women in Arabic purdah (the moderate ones) having a dialogue about championing the next frontiers in science and innovations.

Any so-called Christian who defends the kind of Christianity we practice in this country is part of the problem.

For now, the Emirate of Dubai is the leader of the Arab World. A well deserved title.

#truth is sacred
Selah.

Professor Isa Hussaini of Faculty of Pharmacy University of Maiduguri wrote:

The blame for what Nigeria has become falls on you and me. Not Buhari, not Jonathan, not Obasanjo and definitely not Abacha.

Our wickedness stinks to the heavens as we go about our daily lives, pulling down everyone and everything to become rich. We import substandard products, fake drugs and expired baby food unfit for human consumption and we have the nerve to complain about leadership?

We even steal from widows, orphans, and refugees. We take their food and sell it for profit. No conscience. Nothing is sacred. No one is spared. We build substandard roads, schools, houses, hospitals, all for profit at the expense of human life;an invaluable item which all our profit and contract sum cannot buy.

One would think this behavior is reserved for urchins but it would surprise you that this is the character of many decent looking people who appear to be normal but are not any better than Boko Haram members. They are church members, Muslims, husbands, wives and sadly youths.

We pervert justice and pretend we do not know right from wrong just to serve our selfish interests. Slave traders pale in comparison to what we do to ourselves. We are wickedness personified. So much hatred flows in our blood and we transfer it to our children. It's evident in what we say and do.

We have fasting and prayer sessions all year long, night vigils and deliverance when the actual problem is us. We simply cannot learn to love others . It is me, me, me. That is all that ever matters. It is sickening. Anyone who cannot love has no business in politics, Government and in Nigeria. Until we understand this, we will continue on this path of destruction.

Homosexuality is worse than pornography

Stealing is better than Murder

You get the gist...
If all sins are equal, why is one sin a sin that leads to death, while another does not lead to death?

Honestly, very beautiful!
They seriously need to start being a bit liberal with religion.

From my experience Hausa and Fulani girls prefer Southern guys as they are more romantic and liberal. They are only afraid of what will happen to them if they are discovered to be dating Southern christian guys. I had a Hausa/Fulani lover that told me this. The girl wanted me to impregnate her as she was too much in love that time. She was stunningly beautiful. This still seems to be an understatement in describing her.

Can you imagine someone from another tribe saying this about the igbos while living in the east? Keep it up and continue being marginalized

Can a Muslim northerner on this forum give a logical answer to the above question?

There have been instances where Christian guys fell in love with a Muslim ladies, but the lady's father vehemently opposed the marriage, why is it so??

A friend of mine is currently in a similar situation and I would like to get informed answers here. And again, how do Muslims see atheists?? Do they still discriminate against them in terms of marriage

Your opinions are welcome

And Hausa and Fulani Muslim girls are very beautiful. About Northern Muslim view on atheists, the goofs consider anyone that is not a muslim to be a Christian.

You guys were just spreading lies upandan and not all Nigerians bought into your lies

You can't use that logic in the Nigerian system. Between Atiku and Bihari none is better. One is just worse than the other. For instance though a person like Donald Duke is way more educated and intelligent than El Rufai, he cant defeat El Rufai in an election. In Nigeria the more incompetent you are the more chance you have of winning an election. From experience majority of Nigerian voters are boneheads that reason with their arses.

I think it is Fair to say the reason atiku abubakar of the PDP has lost this election is the fault of the igbos...

I'm not a supporter of the PDP but i simply don't like the system of governance from PMB and I have to say this election is a lost cause and the reason for this is the low turn out of voters in the south east.. they have the population.. but it seems they're more interested in their day to day business.. than the future of this country...

Or some may say they just decided to ditch the election.. because both parties are northerners and fulani muslims.. but they should have considered their son Peter obi..

It's a pity... but as a SS I have to say for the first time 4 + 4 to Buhari... igbos should wait for 2023.. or maybe further in the future

The reason is not just the low turn out of people in the SE, but the fact that Igbos indirectly campaigned for Buhari. There are many "neutral" Yorubas who would want Buhari to be kicked out of state house ASAP. These were pushed to support Buhari due to the Igbos legendary ability to make noise and insult (which always leads them to lose at the end).

Am sorry to disappoint you, but it does

You have your regular animals who reproduce sexually who have shown homosexual relations (example, see stags and bachelor herds, this ironically does help the stag and deer population since too many of that lot means too much forest gets eaten and so the herd runs the risk of ironically eating themselves into a famine, so there does require a certain level of population control within the species outside of just have them be eaten by wolves; another example is female albatrosses who sometimes pair up and mate for life). You have certain species of amphibians, reptiles, or aquatic animals who change sexes if they’re only surrounded by one sex for hundreds of miles around, so the biological change is done so that someone is the other half of the sexual reproduction bit (an example of this is the Common Reed Frog).

Clownfish are downright interesting because they’re all born male and led by a large female (thought to be the mother). When said female dies, the biggest male becomes biologically female.

Heck, Bonobos have the right idea of keeping large packs of them happy and not infighting by encouraging constant orgies with each other. Het sex, gay sex, lesbian sex, threesomes plus? It’s all good so long as the pack is happy and sated and not fighting each other.

And mind you, this is all without even touching on hermaphriditic species or asexually reproducing species.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosexual_behavior_in_animals

Mother nature laughs in the face of anything orderly or vanilla.

Cannibalism occurs in nature, too. Well, let us legalise it so we could start eating one another. Don't you agree?

Many wonder why God hardly shows up, or entrusts men with power as He had done in past times.

But this is a clue as to why, as someone who has not yet been given up to one googolplexth of God's power is easily using the negligible power incomparism to that which God has to be proclaiming death on a fellow human being.

Now imagine what would have happened if this same person had been entrusted with the extent power that God has, it's better imagined than lived, for that would mean that the earth and every living thing in it would have long been a thing of forgotten history.

God certainly knows better.

You seem to be blessed with wisdom. It always gets me angry when I see all these "Christians" and "men of God" making declaration in a show of authority to prove how powerful they (and not God) are to their followers. They do Christianity more harm than good. Reminds me of the other "man of God" and El Rufai. God definitely knows better.

Finally, paul said, Only being a new creature can save u in christ not keeping laws Gal 6:15

"For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation."

Also in Gal 5:6 he said (New International Version)

"For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love."

You see, the part of the law which God wants changed, he clearly stated it in the new testament. Abraham circumcized his children, but this doesn't mean we are to follow that because God clearly changed it in the new testament. See what Paul said below.

1 Corinthians 7:19
Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

Now, show me where God changed the law on tithing. You won't find.

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. James 1:27. So, where can you magically fix tithes and first fruits in there? Note that I am not against people giving their tithes of first fruits if they have the conviction. What I am against is someone saying it is a commandment of God to Christians. It is either the person saying that is ignorant, or downright dubious.
