emmanuelewumi:Is this just a gut feeling or there are actual numbers to back this? They better not play with my income |
DUNKA:Hopefully this is the first catalyst GTCO needs to start moving up. The beating has been too much |
Krisuba:Bought at N28, N27, N26 and currently still buying… It will probably continue to go down before it goes up, no one knows. I personally don’t care, the lower it goes, the harder my new Naira deployment work. If you’ve done your research and you’re convinced, just buy and let the market do its thing. |

moneymanager:Just so you know, there is a Naira billionaire here, I know am personally! Heavy weights full this place, no let silence deceive you bros. Happy New Year |
PETERiCHY: This bros! I hope you're right oh |
locodemy:For me this period, any money wey I get like this, na dividend stocks! No enjoyment for now |
Why is this place quiet? Why is no one posting what they're buying? Do we only hear about your successes when the market is green? Please post what you're buying and possibly reasons for buying. Market don show me shege, the only way around it now is to buy more |
emmanuelewumi:I once made 15% return within 3 months of taking a 0% loan. I went ahead and just paid it off instead of waiting till the end of the offer period. Patiently waiting and hoping for Covid sell off again like March of 2020. |
Jerekre:Na foreign loan bros. I be global citizen, so once in a while I get offered between 0%-4% loans.. I am currently sitting on one of those 0% loans right now, just haven't signed the papers yet because nothing really attractive atm. |
emmanuelewumi:24% apr Loan. IMO, that’s suicide, maybe it’s because I’ve been spoiled with very low rates |
edoman2016:Bros can you tell us a business with 14%+ return? I am always looking for ways to increase . When I started building my portfolio in 2019, I told a friend about it and explained to him how we both can start and encourage ourselves to keep investing. Showed him my spreadsheet, my conservative 12% annual return he said no way! His excuse was inflation this, inflation that. He told me about His plan to buy bikes for delivery, as returns were in the 40-60% return. I said that's impressive but I want a plan that allows me to SLEEP WELL AT NIGHT! Fast forward 18 months later, I am up almost 38-40% when dividends are factored in. He is out 1 bike and the goods the bike was supposed to deliver and sold the second bike at a loss. My portfolio is growing every month because I am accustomed to adding funds every month. No be everybody fit do business, no be everybody get that huge amount to sink into starting a business and doing business in Nigeria today comes with extreme risk. 13% annually for someone with N1M to invest is not the same with someone with N50M to invest. Some people only need N3M annually to live comfortably, while some need N100M, Everyone's situation is different |
emmanuelewumi:Duration? About 15-18 months Payment Strategy? Salary |
Mpeace:I think they will debit your account later. That's what happened with me earlier this year |
This market dey flog everybody this past couple of weeks. Anyways, the small WAPCO dividend wey drop I use am buy more GTCO.... I Pray GT & Zenith hit N20. I ready to take N5M loan to secure that future cashflow |

I like the focus on MTN, I was sold with their report after they became public. Debt is not really a major issue as long as it is well structured. Some of these foreign corporate debts are long term debts. 5-20 years at very cheap rates in the region of 4 - 7% per year. I'd be interested in knowing how MTN debts are structured. MTN is currently 10% of my portfolio, I do not plan to buy more and will milk the fast growing dividends forever Someone even said the reason they don't trust MTN is because it is being run by foreigners lol.... Are companies run by Nigerians any better? |
siofra:If you have direct access to US stocks I say invest most of your money in $$$ and maybe 10% in NSE for future flexing whenever you go Naija. If not, then it depends on your exchange rate.... I heard the rates being peddled by some of these fintech companies is borderline Benin/Ore expressway robbery.... Like they charge N600/$ when you're buying and when you sell and want to cashout they offer less than N450/$.... I guess it makes sense if you never plan to sell. You also have to consider other risks like middleman business. Stocks purchased are most likely not purchased in your name, so if one CEO decide to chop people money, it is a possibility. |
Capitas7:Bro, don't borrow money to invest oh! I invest money I can survive without for the future cashflow. I sleep well at night knowing the likes of GT, Zenith, MTN, Dangote, Stanbic, UCAP, UBA etc all combine to pay me N50,000 every month regardless of what the market does. The ultimate goal is to eventually get that monthly payment to N300k in a few years |
The slaughtering this week no be here! And man don broke, no money to buy more |
yMcy56:Keep up the good work Sist! A post here stopped me from buying more WAPCO when it dropped considerable to around N21 in June. I had the money and I had already planned to pour it all on WAPCO because I didn't own enough but due to sentiments here I ruled out WAPCO. The decision also ruled out the recently announced N1 interim dividend and the huge appreciation. I learned something from that though, focus on the Company and its long term goals, not the short term volatility of the stock. |
Willie2015: I just bought more Dangote Sugar today, as long as they keep increasing their dividends, I am going to keep buying |
nicerod: my guy don move him goal post lol..... Bros abeg enjoy your 30% in peace, leave us 12% chasers alone |
austine4real: measly 3-6% annual return and the fighting with tenant to get paid your rent. With 33,000,000, you’ll get almost 4,000,000 in dividends alone and that’s not including capital appreciation. On this thread, you’re dealing with people who know how to get the best out of their money. Stop wasting your time |
Capitas7:When did you start investing in UCAP? My strategy has always been if a stock runs up too fast, I am selling! If this 120% profit happened within a year, I would sell some and deploy the returns elsewhere. If you've been a holder for 2+ years I'd say hold on to your shares and look for more capital to deploy in Dangote sugar. I am currently in the process of going in heavy on dangote sugar myself, I see value in it. Last year, they upped their dividend payment by around 50%! If they can continue with that or even 20% increment for the next 5 years, my Naija retirement don sure be that |
ojeysky: ![]() Any time there is small green like the past week, this place is unusually bubbly. Hopefully all the noise will die down from today and market stays down. I like to see depressed prices, I want to keep accumulating until that dividend income is at N4M/year. |
Godisfaithful:Why would you want it back in $$ though? A smart person keeps 2 accounts. Dollar account and Naira account, that's what I do. Last time I checked, bills in Naija is still being paid in Naira. |
akinola98:Haven't received mine either samguru:I actually prefer the market to stay this low for now or even go lower self, I am seriously accumulating. |
posty56:Will a mod delete all these BS? Everyday dollar dollar. Una no Dey tire? |
STNWAUME:This is the same sentiment with an average American though. Average American hates the Fed and their unlimited dollar printing. Look on the internet you’ll find lots of memes with Fed chairman Jerome Powell with a printer . With all that, Americans are not converting their $$$ to Euros, Yen or Yuan. Instead they have resorted to buying gold, silver and even Bitcoin. Again, I’ll admit I am not an expert but I speak from experience and what I see. Doesn’t matter how much tantrum you throw here, CBN will do whatever they think will strengthen the Naira. The #1 Naira killer is the addiction, you have Nigerians with bank accounts in hundreds of thousands and some,!millions of $$$ and they’re not really using this $$$, they’re just hoarding it for no reason. |
OBAGADAFFI:You’re probably right but I don’t see Bank if America, Chase, Wellsfargo or Citi offering accounts in different currencies in America. You can buy any currency from them but you can’t operate an account with a different currency. I am not an expert in this topic, but the addiction to $$$ in Nigeria cannot be good for the economy. |
OBAGADAFFI:Maybe the plan is to release it on Monday? This could be a leak. I am all for CBN doing anything to wean Nigerians off of this dollar addiction! |
Please am responsible for whatever decision I take!!
