Good day Lovely Ladies,
Am a newbie and dis is my first post here. Am due in August and intend to apply for Visa this month as I understand fully well d steps I need to take from what I have learnt here so far. I have read and assimilated most posts from Parts 1 to 3. I plan to travel to Maryland cos I have family there but seems all hospital there is top notch expensive expect for one which Robert26(pls pm me if u read this) said it's in Virginia tho like more than 1hr drive to get to the hospital. Want to open discussions with them now cos i need their bills and correspondence for my interview.
My question is how do I get a Dr n Pead willing to use d same hospital. I also would appreciate suggestion on other hospitals more affordable.]
@ bolded.Go to the hospital's website, you'll see affiliated o&g doctors and paediatricians..u call as many as you can to compare prices, and ask for correspondence preferably via email.

Hello guys, I want to ask a very " queer" question hmmmm!!!
Qts: this is prolly for igbos tho, pls what do u do with d umbilical cord of d baby when it falls off?? Like when I had my girl , my mom took hers to my inlaws or something.. Do u guys leave it back here cos I heard dat wherever it is that use here d baby is tied to .. Hmmm hope am making small sense LMAO!
Its not a queer question...very delicate issue for some tribes...the diabolic things done wt d cord make me cringe (village ppl can be fetish..lets protect our innocent children) My dear just flush it yourself..don't give your baby's cord to anyone..if your inlaws ask later..you can give them some cock and bull's story for peace sake.

I av 2 hospitals on my mind Northside and piedmont they charge abt 3.5k. Bt d doctors dt I av been seeing are saying 5k and above. So what I need is a doctor's contact. Tanx in anticipation of your response.
My dear just ignore any comment that is of no benefit to your quest...google the O &G doctors with associated to the hospital you are interested in...load airtime and get to work..you are sure to get one within your budget..then you can check shawbabe's posts..had her baby in atl i think..and i reiterate again simply ignore unwarranted unneccesary or rude comments.

Much cheaper at Walmart or on amazon. It's called a nursing shield or something.

Or just drape the blanket they give you across your chest.

Do you mean nursing cover?

Oh, I didn't know sitting on hard stool and closing of leg after birth is for the vaginal fart thingy, tot it's to make d vjj return back to normal grin
I ve been religiously observing this rule without even knowing the reason for it, even for oda babies I had, I still obeyed the rules cos dat was d instruction I was given after my first delivery

We learn everyday
Never heard of the sitting position before....all I do is pelvic floor exercises (kegel's) and thankfully I didn't experience the farts and vjj is back to normal.

Thank so much for the reply. I later called Delta as adviced and the price they gave me no smile at all. N445k compared to the 270k on wakanow. Thinking I will go with wakanow but will need to do some calculation so that we don't need change travel dates, will only be left with adding baby's ticket which can not be up to the 175k difference. Thinking of booking the return leg to be exactly a month after expected delivery date. We are thinking of c-section, so my life believes we can actually determine date of delivery. Please kindly advice, will a month be enough to process all baby's document in Missouri ? secondly, pls is it true that we can choose the delivery date? Abeg help me o, before I go enter one chance
Yeah 1month should do if you are very fast about it...birth cert takes abt 2days after discharge (u must be very emphatic at the hospital about needing the bc asap...let the person doing the paper work know u'll be travelling soon, that would make them submit on time)...there is no passport agency in Missouri so u have to use a post office and expedite...this takes abt 2weeks give or take few days...in all 4 weeks will do if u are sharp abt it.

Congrats middyo on the birth of ur baby, wow! I didnt know one could switch diapers without having issues, i follow for the queue wey dey wait the ticket deals, then to nerfy and modath, nor worry we sef go soon find bestie for nairaland... the frienship dey sweet me. Na the kind wey i like...
Babies differ wt some having more sensitive skin than others...on the other hand could just be a mindset thing...asked my friends and cousins in the US abt diapers b4 I put to bed...all 3 of them had used abt 5 different diapers, switching from one to another within days without any issues....they got different types of diapers as gifts during their baby showers and used almost all..but since I had it ingrained in my brain that switching diapers had adverse effects...i waited till she was almost 3months before switching despite all testimonies I heard abt no issues arising from it

I was told Walmart's parents choice diapers is better than huggies and pampers. I dnt know how true that is. Has anyone tried it out?
Was told same thing by a friend but the online reviews were quite discouraging...so i bought snug and dry and luvs diapers...luvs is cheap and on point. Bought loads of parent's choice formula though grin same friend told me abt it... all american formulars have same FDA standard..so far so good,no complaints.. my princess enjoys it..

"Happy Thanksgiving" to all the mums in the states.

Pls does anyone have an idea of getting an apartment in Houston? It's giving me sleepless nights. Just when I think am sorted something comes up, I have contacted Soul Care, Pampered Stay and Spring of Joy, coupled with others and none seem to have the non-sharing option.

Tried Air bnb and no joy either.

I don't want to go to the other cities I have family so trying really hard to get a place, pls if anyone has an idea of what next to do, kindly drop a hint here and I can always do the followup.

TIA.

Pls sabi mamas my lo started cereal last week, my question is how often should i give water now or can i do breastmilk alone for her as water cos this babes doesn't like water at all sometimes i spoonfeed her the water but she won't take more than 2 spoons. Also what other food can i give apart frim rice cereals. Thanks y'all

Madam, she needs water o,breastmilk is no substitute for water once u stop exclusive.keep giving her wt a spoon at close intervals..my baby didnt take water @ all for abt 3weeks after i stopped exclusive...it was war o..if u force her she wont swallow, after crying wld just pour everything out...constipation is real..after 1 week of not pooing and always grunting,I had to beg my mum to come administer enema..i had bluntly refused before cos i read its not so safe for babies...thats how we got by for 3weeks till she started taking water and fruits o..u can also try using a dropper to give her water

Take your baby to the hospital. It's likely malaria. Or you can also go by your doc friend advice and give the coartem tabs for babies. There's one for 3mths and above. The tabs worked for my DS when he was 6mths and had malaria.
Thank you, naive me, didnt know there was coartem tabs for babies.Wld watch for 2 more days...if the fever persists wld go for the coartem.thanks

I am of two minds...

1. Wait it out, it may be scary but if princess has malaria, she wouldn't be playing & the temmp will stay up, if you can remember how sprouting wisdom teeth felt like, you'd be able to get how baby is feeling..

2. Since you can't do a test to rule out presence of malaria parasite in blood & not likely to have a thermometer to check if the temp gets to 38 degrees or more, do you want to give it as prophylactic care ?

One other thing, has she began to crawl?

Cc ; tchwinnie, lovinam , firsttymum , kaffy4bill , abeg make una help torchlight am. Thx.
Thanks Modath...she has started crawling, he said coartem tabs i thot he was referring to the adult tablets, didnt know babies hv their own tablets...will wait it out as u suggested..she's as vibrant as usual...hmmm dat thermometer u mentioned,Kizluv begged me to buy o..ijebu no gree me drop 35$

Good morning all,

I am new to this forum and have been checking all past threads for an answer to my question so as not to be chewed..
I am pregnant and want to apply for a US visa for the purpose of giving birth. My hubby n son also are applying for a visa as well.
I had applied two years ago but was denied even after I admitted that I was pregnant. The reason was that I didn't show sufficient social ties n Nigeria (I had my marriage certificate).

I feel I have to apply with my family to avoid disappointments and Pls want do I need to present at the interview to ensure I am not denied again as I am trying to apply before year end cause am due March 2016.

Tnx in anticipation.

hello experts in the house, please what should i write in the explain why i was rejected a visa question? should i write what was given to me in the white or blue paper(been rejected twice) cry or explain that i wasnt married then, but now i have a husband and family here. also the sponsor part, there is no option for co sponsor?should i put self or hubby? the money for the expenses is in my account, but hubby transfered some to me. although i am gonna print both our statements. please help a sister in dire need of clarifications. my appointment is nextweek please. been readng part 1 and 2 but havent seen those parts yet, and i frankly dont have enough time, wish i found here early.
I wrote section 214b..i.e the reason for denial...no need for unneccesary story.keep it simple.. If d VO asks verbally sef,if i were you I would say I don't know why I was denied(in actual sense..they dont give a specific reason..so one can never be so sure). As for sponsor put in ur husband...if asked you can say both of you verbally..I stand to be corrected but i think your dr should be your contact person since that's the primary reason for the trip.

I have done rigorous work today as I have called up to 5 hospital and equivalent obgyn.of the state I will love to use but
1) the first said I have to pay 150$ before he can setup an appointment and give me the Dr correspondence (I don't have a visa yet, what if the unexpected happens, shey them go refund nii)

2) another said I have to come in person
3) another said I have to be 2months or so to delivery b4 they can setup an appointment, which my interview will not wait for

Or should I just tell the third Dr that I'm 2 months to go so he can send what I need for my interview in due time.

Please I need help on how to proceed. Atlanta..is the state ooo..help
Keep trying dear, or better still get a Houston" correspondence to use for visa application...then you port to your intended location. But u still hv to keep searching to get a good deal...so keep calling diff hospitals and dr's offices who knows u may hit jackpot ....another MIHS..hehehe if u do pm me o...since sharing openly is not allowed...All the best wt ur search dear.
