Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!! Of all people to believe, it's OBJ? Another co-devil like the holier than thou Buhary? I rather believe the devil than believe OBJ, because the whole looting in the 70s was masterminded by the duo. OBJ and Bujary founded corruption before IBB legalized it. cheesy grin
What will shock you guys is that the publishers of the newspaper will re educate you about that story.
It is also very childish to think this will stop anti corruption drive. If you know Buhari this will only make things worse for looters.
In fact, as a corruption hater I am thanking you for bringing these stuff out and spreading it,

As they say these days, " the suffering that awaits looters is just coming out of the gym"

Your Buhari was already stealing before GEJ became a politician. Deal with it. The news is up there and you leave it to come and attack me? Why not disprove the report?
The report is already disproven. The PTF was 75% clean. The magazine you are talking about was published by Mr Ray Ekpu and some 3x colleagues of Dele Giwa. It is because you guys are young and so ignorant. You are shoving things in our face that we read decades ago and threw somewhere and still voted for Buhari. How idiotic?

This is new discovery to youhuh?

This trash is exciting you?

Shame on you. You better go and scan Daily Times of the 70s about 2.8 billion and Daily Times of the 80s about 52 suitcases so that we can slap your face with it and tell you to stop doing "break dancing" in 2016.

Thank God I followed my instincts and what one of my best ever musician said. He had pointed out about the looting that went on back then and under OBJ and Buhari's rule only for OBJ to throw his mum from some story buildings while he was later jailed too. Up till now, he has not told us what happened to the $2.8billion that went missing under his nose as petroleum minister. Believe that the man has never looted at your own peril.
I have said it. PDP supporters are the ones that will finally join hands to kill corruption in Nigeria. Please dig into all arms of government. We want to see all corrupt people in jail including the APC office holders.

However this Newswatch article is LOW IQ. You guys have to try harder.

Nigerians who know , Nigerians above the age of 45 have read it many times. That magazine was published in Oregun, in Ikeja. The old men who read it before most of your parents got married were in front of the queues to vote for Buhari. There are other interesting ones about 2.8 billion and 52 suitcases. My parents also used to discuss those over dinner,. They were also the first in line to vote for Buhari. Buhari's anti corruption credentials are sterling and we who voted for him have more IQ and are better informed than the kids deceiving themselves on this thread.
Politics › Re: Newswatch Magazine Headline About Buhari And PTF: Throwback by Adminisher:
This FALSEHOOD UPON FALSEHOOD.
I have read the supposed article. Nowhere is it said that Buhari looted PTF. I bought this copy of Newswatch when a lot of the commentactors on this thread were not yet born. Nothing in the article says Buhari stole any money. Obasanjo also confirmed the same.
This is CORRUPTION FIGHTING BACK and it will only bring a tightening of more screws on the relatives of the OP and his paymasters who sponsored this mis information. In fact it is commendable that a lot of mud is being slung. This is finally what will kill corruption in Nigeria.

Saudi is the fifth largest investor in Ethiopia and not in the top 10 in Kenya.
Those Saudis are liars.
Actually you are very very wrong. China just started pouring money into Africa less than eight years ago. Ethiopia was never even colonised as a modern country. We are talking large trading companies that have been in Ethiopia for centuries. Please look at your map. Then there are banks, GSM companies, et.c. Everything should not be viewed on the surface when you are making comments , globalisation is just one twentieth of modern history. The largest foreign investors in Nigeria for instance are the British, followed by the Lebanese and the Indians. Yet looked on the surface you may want to say China.

Well everyone can see it was the year 2000, long before Buhari thought of becoming a civilian president. It has long been public knowledge that allegations of massive corruption trailed Buhari not just as PTF Chairman but as far back as his days as Oil minister in the 70's. Naturally, there are many people who don't care about such allegations as long as they are politically benefiting from the system
I read all the Newswatch magazines on the PTF, not in one issue was Buhari accused personally. The was a consulting company that PTF used that was accused of sone things. The ESTATE and MONEY stolen when you read the article inside the PTF were not even said to be Buharis
Please look for the back issue of Newswatch, now owned by Jimoh Ibrahim and read "inside" carefully.

Thank you for this comment. I read through all the comments and nobody could disagree the fact that he said nylon for packaging sachet water is imported. I know of atleast 10 companies in Lagos that manufactures this nylon. It would have been better if he had said the raw materials used in manufacturing the nylon
The polythene is a Nigerian product. I know dozens of companies producing the stuff. Around 2008 , the machinery to produce these 'nylons' which is not even the correct name was N13m. Eleme Petrochemicals has not shut down and are producing the resin for the Polythene bags. It is just that the government has permitted them to export all their products without satisfying local markets

P/s,Fashola,the current minister of works hs recently stated that Jonathan's administration built the highest number of roads than anyother govt.
I have said on many fora that there were no new infrastructure projects inaugurated by Jonathan. All the roads done , including East West were resurfacing of old ones. Niger Bridge was supposed to be the only new road to be done by Jonathsn but we all know how that went

The sad reality is that Nigeria is having an exact repeat of 1983- currency controls, a rapidly dwindling economy and a Buhari presidency.
History seems to be replaying itself in the exact same mode. If that means Buhari gets sacked after one and half year, then hmmmnm.....

I pray Nigerians don't curse the day they voted for this man.
Where are the currency controls sir?
Did you even do any research before posting this? The dollar was not available at all in 1983 for the common man. They were using form M to import everything in 1983. Buhari ensured that Nigeria was cut off from the international finacial system in 1983. All these are not happening now. In fact the opposite is happening. The only difference is that they want to protect the local manufacturers by giving them priority for forex. If you cannot research issues and make fair deductions you are not qualified to comment on economic matters

All these narrow , local and parochial Ibo standpoint that is informing your world view is not getting you anywhere. Buhari was cheered throughout the 80s for his actions then which everyone agrees now wont work in the current context so this new revision that you people are writing is very annoying.

I am sorry for you. What tribe are you? What school did you go?
Even Jonathan rated himself very low in leadership so you must have very modest aspirations and low self esteem. I am looking for the newspaper headlnes where he made a statement to that effect to post on Nairaland.

So he actually has more self honesty than a lot of you dumb followers that i am increasingly worried about.

Dont you guys think or read?

It is not even about APC PDP?

Jonathan is not even close to average level in leadership talent in Nigeria.
Buhari is in the top the ten in leadership.
In case you want to argue then please take any book on leadership and male some jottings. Then contemplate the actions and words of both men . After that
Politics › Re: Goodluck Jonathan was the best executive President Nigeria ever had. by Adminisher: 11:49am On Feb 26, 2016
We understand the DEEP , PSYCHOLOGICAL, need for some young men to continue to press this FALSEHOOD.

Good luck Jonathan was not supposed to fail as much as he did. There was just too much hanging on his neck as an inspiration to young people from some tribes in Nigeria. If only he was a litlke less weak, a little less self centered, a little more courageous, a little more sacrifucing maybe things would have been different.

It was a big let down that he was so corrupt, did not develop infrastructure and did nothing on security.

There will be a lot of these confused regurgitation of false statistics . However if many of these demon statistics were true the following would not be where they are now
- employment rate
- importation level of food
- power supply
- security
- health
- rate of emigration from Nigeria - brain drain.

The fact that we have a new government struggling with these issues and discovering unbelievable acts of corruption shows that all these high fallutin achievements were just PDP propaganda. No new government could have destroyed all the good things that Goodluck did in just 9 months if they were GENUINE and sustainable instead FLASH and anybody who feels so has very low IQ or his a coward before the truth.

When someone qualifies a statement by the word "technically" he has assumed he is addressing an audience made up of normal educated people instead Nigerian educational system products.

In Chess, warfare, politics, marketing et. c you can technically defeat an oppobent i.e. gegrade his abilities to duch a low level that victory is assured for you. Boko Haram is technically defeated. The whole world knows . No major initiatives, no you tube videos, just scattered attacks by far glung cells.

The body language of Ifeanyi Uba definitely forced some forex rats to release the forex they were hiding. Just the same way his statement about flooding Nigeria with fuel forced every fuel hoarding rat to release the products they were hiding in June 2015 thereby ending Nigeria's worst fuel scarcity ever. The strong statement of Buhari that he wasnt still going to devalue even if it got to N1000, that also helped to cripple the activities of the hoarders.

The lesson from these events is that, sometimes you can get something done without necessarily doing anything.
The lesson is that we have a crooked and manipulated country.

People also tell LIES a lot.

The big lie is "market forces". There is no such thing in Nigeria. Hoarding, artificial scarcity, corruption, inefficiency are the determinants of prices.

We need Buhari so that institutions and big individuals start playing by the rules of the market.
