People who only complain and cannot give one single positive comment always look for the negative, never willing to lift a finger to do a thing about the problem, only type type type and condemn verything about a country whose passport you hold. Other citizens worked and died to make thier country great, we wont get anywhere by just complaining

chidichris:
all we need to hear is the timely death of iwu and the pdp chieftains.
if there must be any report of coffin, it must contain iwu or major pdp chieftains who have denied us sleep in our own fatherland.
Speak for yourself especially when making ridiculous statements. Your mind is black. Iwu or INEC can only rig an election if you are ok with the rigging. To begin with, those of you who are living outside Nigeria contribute nothing to making the elections free and fair so easy with the statements.

RichyBlacK:
This is why a law should be passed that any Nigerian who is found to believe in juju miust be arrested, tried for idiocy and jailed for six weeks, with hard labor!

Did the fools who put the coffin in front of the INEC office think that such a charade will scare any thinking mortal?

Does the Nigerian Police Force have an Anti-Juju Unit trained to dispose of objects, like this coffin, placed by hopelessly silly "juju believers" trying to intimidate the public?

This ongoing nonsense of adults, who should be applying the matter inside their skull, displaying unimaginable stupidity in the guise of "doing juju" is too problematic to ignore.

How can too many Nigerians be this gullible? angry
RichyBlack,

I don't want to turn this thread into a juju thread but I am worried that an intelligent person like you have taken the type of position you have taken on juju based on your knowledge in science just because you have not witnessed anything remotely related to the powers of juju.

I don't practice it, I personally don't give a damn about it and those who practice it but I have seen enough to know that juju (call it whatever name as long as it defies the laws of physics) exists. I don't have to dismiss it because I don't believe in it and I don't expect you to categorically say something does not exist simply because you are not convinced.

What will happen the day you experience what you can never explain or justify with science? Let us make our words light lest we are made to eat them and trust me I have seen people move from "Na lie, e no dey possible" to "Na wah oo, if to say I no see I no for ever believe".

Seeking proof or evidence and basing your position on the absence of either is a more acceptable position for an intelligent person like you.

Stop disappointing me my friend. There are both good and evil powers regardless of our beliefs.

We see these guys connive and loot funds under the guise of one partnership or the other and even after so many years nothing concrete is recorded.
PoliticsRe: Good News: Nigerians Are Waking Up by Afam(m): 9:30am On Feb 04, 2010
Why is it that most times we have Nigerians living outside Nigeria telling us that we are not doing enough?

The akara seller, bus driver or okada rider is contributing more than Nigerians outside as regards moving this nation forward.

You don't sit in the comfort of your home or office in a foreign land and tell us that we are not doing enough or lecture us about protests and revolutions.

Get into the kitchen and involve yourselves. Nigerians who are living in Nigeria going through the difficult times should and must be acknowledged. After all the organised way of life some of you enjoy outside Nigeria didn't come to be because the citizens of the respective countries left the country to foreign lands.

Hello,

Where can one get a comprehensive list of all the LGAs in Anambra state?

Where can one access information on the names of the wards and polling booths that would be used for the election?

Any pointers would be appreciated.

noblezone:
Check this scenario:

Mr A's roof is leaking water, instead of getting a capentar to fix the roof, he went to buy basings and buckets so as to put under the leaking points. The machinery of the riggers is fed fat because of the the present system. This riggers carry guns and we dont, because we believe in the rule of law. Our police is for sale to the highest bidder, so they protect the riggers. Any body can call me whatever name they like, but I am not a party to asking Anambra people to go and engage gun torting touts backed by the Nigerian police with empty hands.

Except if you are suggesting that we should also carry guns and match them; armour for amour, gun for gun, shooting for shooting sparing neither the touts, the god-fathers nor the police. Total chaos, unbriddled anarchy, open rebellion and violent revolution! Is it what you are asking?

But me thinks we should press for fixing the roof and not puting basins under the holes.

INEC is partsian, yet we can have a truelly independent INEC.
Iwu is incompetent, we have very many great Nigerians who can do a better job.
Self confessed riggers are free, we have laws and if they are not enough, let us modify them, such that the riggers and their associates are punished well enough.

Its a shame.
The above sums up the current situation. Inability to fashion out a way to tackle the rigging of elections. This is sad to note especially when we have a lot of educated Nigerians complaining about this.

Can you guys stop thinking about gun for gun and cutlass for cutlass for a minute and focus on other areas where we can use our God given intelligence to expose the rigging of elections?

INEC is an "arm" of the rulling party. Iwu's INEC is partisan. And I keep saying that with such structures as this, Nigeria has no bright future. There is too much power at the centre. A situation the winner takes it all and the entire population has no say in what happens to them is nothing but internal colonialism.
Content in bold refers, we allow those rigging the elections to continue to do so because we are not ready to challenge them. We focus on the wrong things while the riggers focus on those things that make it easy for them to rig elections. Until we admit this and seek for solutions we will continue to blame others even for what we are responsible for.

What do you mean by cuz of lewd language? Did anyone tell you that Yawatide used any lewd language?

To the best of my knowledge Yawatide resigned as the moderator based on very disturbing comments and statements by Seun on issues she raised especially with the way the bot is flagging messages as spam.

Personally, Seun was not only arrogant but insultive and childish. I hope to get banned for life one of these days because the forum is sinking to a very low level and the owner seems not to realize it.

Many intelligent posters have left and more will leave because of his attitude.

375 KB for a home page? There cannot be any justification for that as many people will not have the time to wait for the web page to load.

And what is this website we are talking about? It should be very popular and well known if it attracts that type of traffic.

I believe that for an ex US president to call an enemy of the US (which Mutallab personifies), there have to be very strong extenuating circumstances. In fact, it would have to be another Mutallab or a namesake. grin
So, you agree with me that it is not enough to reach a conclusion based on one person calling the guy a hero for whatever reason and under whatever circumstances.

Thanks.

It seems that some of these media outfits would make more money developing movies rather than all these baseless and "unnamed" or "a very reliable source" kind of thing.

I didn't say Iran or Nigeria's battered image had anything to do with the "if" scenario. I clearly said "The current thread is a case in point." Reread what I wrote.
The thread starters argument that is promoting Iran's interests to Nigeria's detriment. Reread what I wrote.

Can I get an apology now? grin
I only apologize when I have done wrong and thus far I have not seen any wrong doing.

Can you now answer my question about the "if Bush calls Muttalab guy a hero" scenario? You can answer the question with something like "I am guilty with reasons and then proceed to give the reasons". grin

Let us forget about the thread starter and the inherent political undertones surrounding Iran, Israel, US, Britain and our battered image.

Trust me I am only going ahead with this thread because I refuse to believe that you have abandoned logical reasoning and as such would do my best to knock you back to your senses because we cannot afford to lose you on this section of the forum where a lot of irrelevant posts are being posted.
PoliticsRe: Mossad Orchestrated Christmas Day Bomb Plot by Afam(m): 6:06pm On Jan 29, 2010
@Beaf,

Sometimes we get so emotional that we lose the point completely.

What has Iran or Nigeria's battered image got to do with the if scenario?

Did Iran make any comment about Bush?

Do not attempt to assume you know what another person thinks as that would be an exercise in futility. I always tell people that they can only vouch for what they think and not what someone else thinks as you could be 100% wrong.

Feel free to hate Iran or love the US but please learn to address issues as stated, no need misinterpreting or giving a life to something that does not exist all in the bid to justify a statement that does not have a solid foundation.

What if Mugabe calls Muttalab a hero tomorrow? Would it then be right to claim Mugabe sent him? Logic has no place for sentiments or emotions.
PoliticsRe: Mossad Orchestrated Christmas Day Bomb Plot by Afam(m): 5:30pm On Jan 29, 2010
Interesting response.

Can anything change the "if" statement? No. You may be interested in labeling Bush anything if he makes such a statement but I am not, I am only interested in the fact that a similar statement from Bush would change the current position about Muttalab and Osama based on Osama allegedly calling him a hero.

Now, you talk about Osama saying so and Osama not denying saying so.

Have you ever heard or read about many different groups laying claims to any act they would be proud to associate themselves with? If you have not I have even in Nigeria where someone claimed to have set fire at the NNPC building at Ikoyi, today the man is a human rights activist.

Again, you seem to effortlessly believe that either Osama actually made the statement or that his not denying he ever made the statement makes it certain that he indeed made the statement.

What if Osama is long dead and gone? What if he didn't make the statement and finally what if Al Qaeda doesn't give a damn about refuting the statement credited to Osama assuming Osama did not make the statement?

This is all about logic that anyone can easily relate to.

I am neither a supporter of Osama nor Bush so attributing a statement to either is not something I hold dear to my heart. I simply provided another angle to prove that your conclusion that no other person could have supported Muttalab since Osama called him a hero stands on a very shaky foundation.

Enjoy the coming weekend and leave out unnecessary accusations like being mischievous and let us for once trash out an issue without name calling or diversions.

Facts are sacred.
Bin Laden has called the terrorist bastar'd Mutallab a hero. George Bush has not. Facts.
Al Qaeda claims to have sent the terrorist bastar'd Mutallab, he in turn claims to belong to Al Qaeda. What's your point? huh
My statement was an "if" statement and I expected you to understand that as "what if" scenarios are usually used to analyze situations. I hope you now get my point.

Meanwhile, the claim that Osama called him a hero may not be factual.
PoliticsCan We Move Beyond The Tribalism Induced Threads Here? by Afam(op): 8:47am On Jan 29, 2010
I must state here that both the moderator of this Politics section kosovo and the owner of this forum Seun should be ashamed of themselves for allowing the forum especially the Politics section to get to this despicable level.

While increased traffic makes economic sense to the owner of the forum as he would make more money from online adverts on the forum I hope he realizes that there will always be a tipping point where both the quality of posts (already happening) and traffic (at least to this section) will go down and as such the section may self destruct.

If we can utilize the same energy some of us have utilized insulting different tribes and religions here to recognize and take advantage of our strong points to build a more prosperous nation I believe Nigeria would be better for it.

While we must understand the fact that we have obvious differences we must not allow such differences to turn to hatred, envy and blood letting.

I sincerely hope that my account be deleted or forever banned as sometimes it is a shame to see my name on this section where unnecessary tribal related insults seem to be the norm now. Unfortunately, members are not allowed to delete their accounts and the forum seems to be addictive.

Going by your logic would you apply same if tomorrow George Bush calls the man a hero? Would you then make a case and believe Bush sent him?
