It's funny how people write articles laces with grammar but lacks the commonest of sense. The writer chose to console and conciliate himself by analyzing issues that supports his position. Yes, the North and the entire country feeds fat on Nigeria and the Niger Delta specifically. Why is it so far to decipher? It it wasn't then we will not be talking about diversificatio of the economy. Currently, we are an oil depends economy and much of our oil comes from the Niger Delta. Whether Kano's population is 5 billion is highly irrelevant as they're supposed to use what they produce to feed themselves. You don't use the resources of another state and region to validate why you should receive more allocation. That makes you a parasite with entitlement issues. |
Wole was one of the very few Nigerians that one couldn't help but respect. But it seems the Nigerian factor is now getting a hold of everybody, even Wole Soyinka to the extent that people have started insulting him. I think he is becoming too violently political for a man of his timber and caliber. He should tone it down and act like the elder statesman that he is and we will continue to give him the respect that he deserves. |
wirinet:When we're discussing these issues, we do so bearing in mind that Nigeria calls itself a democratic country which invariably means that it abides by certain liberty codes which includes freedom of speech and association. It's one thing for the Nigerian government to trample on the rights of citizens and it's another to say they have the right to do so. It's like saying we all have the right to walk to the streets of Nigeria and open fire just because we are in a certain position of power. It's convenient for you to name countries that have been fighting for their freedom for decades without realizing that most of these countries unlike Nigeria don't claim to be democratic states. So, your China-Tibet analogy does not hold water. You also stated the Basque region of spain without realizing that despite the fact that they're yet to get their own country, nobody is forcing anybody, rather they sit down to talk on what will be beneficial to everybody. The reverse is the case in this country where we threaten people who daring to fight for their own self determination. Ultimately, we have to agree to disagree on whether Biafra shoudl exist or not. But one thing every sane human being has to agree to is the fact that it'a the inalienable right of citizens of a group of people within a country to fight for self determination. Only then can we move forward. |
Digitron:Which resources were at Chime's disposal that's not equally at Ugwuanyi's disposal. Which dept burden are you talking about? care to substantiate? Stop giving recession as a reason for everything. The last time i checked, our allocation from the FG has not reduced greatly. |
This man would have sold Igboland if he had the chance. |
Please, let's save our country and call this woman back. let's all swallow our pride because hunger has taken over. |
Instead of you to contact the bank, you're here opening a thread. |
freeze001:As long as the FG keeps acting as father Christmas to all the states, we won't go anywhere in this country. We need serious devolution of power thereby making the center weaker. Only then can states rise up to the occasion and do the needful. |
Digitron:Nobody is saying the Governor isn't doing any thing at all. It will be silly to do so. We're only comparing him to his immediate predecessor and we have to say it the way it is. We have gone so far in Enugu not to maintain a certain level of developmental strides. Currently, Ugwuanyi is living up to the expectations a lot of people had for him. We're hoping he is still strategizing and will do better subsequently. |
Ikwokrikwo:Pls, let's not start with this. We musn't label everybody we don't like non Igbo. It's embarrassing. |
MyGeneration:Igbos like yourself ought to be ashamed of yourself. You maake very bogus statements and when you're confronted with superior wisdom, your resort to giving replies like you just did. Why don't you tell us how the action of one Igbo man or a few Igbo people translate to the action of the entire Igbo race. I'm also not so enthusiastic about the whole Biafra ish but i'm not remotely senseless enough not to know that it is the right of any group is Nigeria to seek self determination. it has never been a crime and it will never be. Granted most supporters of IPOB and MASSOB are violently vocal in their utterance or should i say, forceful in the way they cajole, people, it's left for us to represent an alternative geared towards a similar goal and not to throw away the baby with the bath water. |
nmreports:Yeah, it is. But i'm still not certain if that's what the OP was referring to though. |
Why not blacklist the IP address. |
nmreports:It is used as a separator in the title tag. For instance you have something like this in your title: <title>HTtechnique | The best website in the world</title> |
dominique:Abuja is all brick and mortar. it does not have the aesthetics that some Capital cities in Africa have. We seem not to have an eye for beauty in these parts. |
I've heard only good things about Kigali. I'm actually wowed at the greenery. |
naijaseeker:The way una take sabi Nigerian female football ehnn. I used to be like you |
sukkottt:Lol He's actually richer than your village. |
spyder880:The reason PDP has had it easy in Enugu in the past is because they have produced candidates that i'll call "Safe candidates". They are not the best in the world but they are also not that bad. They've been average people who are not doing anything out of this world, but are trying to maintain the pride of Enugu, so people never saw any reason to push them out. But with Ugwuanyi, things may begin to change and we sincerely need that competition. It's not just APGA, every political party in Enugu state should be on their toes, so that our leaders will sit up. DelGardo:It is really not about the part per se but the candidates they bring forward. APGA is not doing badly in Anambra state. It won't be bad if we can have a governor in the mold of Peter Obi or Willie Obiano. I really don't know what ugwuanyi's plan for Enugu is really? |
I think APGA has to be the iggest sleeping giant ever. They are just to selfish and lazy. It's very easy for APGA to win all the South East states but i don't know why they are holding baack. I don't mind them taking Enugu as long as they provide a better candidate than Ugwuanyi. I also don't understand why someone like CHime, with all his foresight could not give Enugu someone who will best his achiements, instead he was more interested in rotation of power. |
basilo102:This is a very bad mentality. So, because Agbani is still in Enugu, i should not clamour for some dividends to come to my neck of the wood? This is a bad precedence that has become a culture in Enugu whereby a governor goes in and starts turning his village into heaven on earth and neglecting other parts. You now wonder why some people support Rotation of power. |
This can only happen in Nigeria. Imagine telecoms threatening us with bad service. Any telecom that doesn't want to fall in line should be chased away. |
I hated the first edition, i hope i don't hate this one. They should do away with their mumu restrictions. We don't wanna miss anything. From Shower hour to everything. We want them all. |
All this one na article. The same reason we cannot afford to have Atiku is the same reason we cannot afford to have 99.9% of our politicians in Aso Rock. Integrity is a Btw, we should be looking out for other qualities as well apart from integrity. Because we currently have someone that they said he was the kind of integrity village but nothing seems to be working. |
A7:You can conveniently shop with most mastercard and visa cards from most banks. But personally, i use GTB and Zenith mastercards and i can shop in 95% of websites in the world. |
I think i saw this man yesterday. I'm not sure though. |
They may not like it because they don't want to be tied down to been seen as a Nigerian blog. They probably want their visitors to come from all over. A TLD in no way interferes with your ranking. The only thing it does it to geo target a particular website. For instance, if you have a .ng or .com.ng website, Google automatically, without you explicitly asking them to, lists your website as a Nigerian site. |
Is this not the same Ngex that has been in the webosphere for more than 10 years? I think they deserve an award for being that long. |
To create a website from scratch as a novice (someone who has no idea) is to learn how to create a website. There's no magic to it. Go and let web design. |
veekid:Omo Ibadan kini so |
asha80:I understand the difference between urbanization and development. it's clear the SW (Apart from Lagos) is more urbanized than the SE. In terms of development, it's debatable depending on the metric you want use but i still feel the SW is more developed than the SE even if it's with a tiny bit. The only thing is that i see the SE cities going very far in the future as they are growing in a more modern way unlike some other cities in other parts of the country. |
I can see that most of the arguments here are borne out of ethnic loyalty. We have to learn to be objective. The truth is that, the South West is generally more developed and Urbanized than the South East. The only highly urbanized state in the South East is Anambra and Anambra is not necessarily more urbanized than Ogun state but when you consider it in relation to the landmass of these places, then one may not argue why Anambra came third. Anambra is actually the second smallest state in Nigeria after lagos. |
