Really?? So you are comparing the asaba movies to the 'so called' new nollywood movies.. those movies had nothing to offer. And you can't compare them to the good old movies.. again, get valid points to drive this argument home
The new Nollywood movies have more technicalities but they don't have what i call "local content" which is what took Nollywood movies to where it is today. Those new Nollywood peeps think that those African American movies that they produce will replace the Asaba movies. The best bet is there to be a marriage between both.

I decided to read this to see the points to be raised. But after reading this I think you need to get some facts right.. how can you say nollywood movies were 'suspense-filled'? Furthermore, the movies you used as case studies suck big time.. kindly say what was thrilling about those movies biko.. 'girls cot'. 'boys cot' etc.. if for nothing, the new nollywood movies trump all these movies you just called. At least the story is better, work is put into suspense and let's not even compare production between these movies. You may be right about nollywood dying but your points are ridiculous
By nee movies, I believe you are referring those so called New Nollywood. The OP is referring to the Asaba movies which are direct descendants of those good old movies that we love.

The bribe issue sticks out as a sore thumb. However, the jury are usually given a set of instructions by the judge on how to apply the law to the facts. In California, the jury instructions are codified into a book called "CALJIC".
This probably works in California but not in Nigeria because I can't remember when Nigerians started following in instruction. If you want Nigerians to follow instructions just place some raw cash in their hands and invent an instruction.
PoliticsRe: Should Nigeria Switch To Trial By Jury? by Afam4eva(m): 11:53pm On Jul 10, 2015
I've never really been a fan of the jury system even in the US because I think members of the jury are susceptible to manipulation from a very good defence team. There's also the emotional angle. Most of these people throw objectivity put of the window in cases such as a man raping a 5year old. The man will most likely lose the case as people like that are pre-judged and not given a fair hearing in the truest sense.
PoliticsRe: Should Nigeria Switch To Trial By Jury? by Afam4eva(m): 11:40pm On Jul 10, 2015
Nigerians will bribe the living daylight out of the jury and the members of the jury will be ever willing to accept it. Whoever paya more gets their vote. This country is just too corrupt for jury duty. Don't be surprised if you see peoples siblings being made part of the jury and you will wonder if Satan is a Nigerian.

Afam, you're an IT expert, why not present a business proposal to those eastern governors and business men, like innoson?
I have done that once. My proposal stands a better chance to be accepted by the Lagos state government than the east. Those governors don't see the need for it. They don't understand it and you will be frustrated in trying to convince them otherwise.

ANSIPPA website is still being developed, all the links are not working including contact page and others. Even the texts in some body pages are Lorem Ipsum generated texts.

ABS has the best and most functional website now because they have inhouse ICT team that update the site constantly and improve on the images, most importantly their site is mobile compatible.

Anambra state government website need complete overhaul by the ministry of Information, then another issue we are facing here is the use of the governor's face in state projects.
When he came newly he commissioned for a logo for the state but recently the logo have been relegated to the background and the governor's face adorning everywhere.

SE governments are run like some Igbo businesses, they don't invest in marketing communications, media and public relation management.
Check Innoson's website and weep, ANNAMCO don't even own website yet.

Many companies in East lack online presence and I don't know why they are shying away from it.

Stella Oduah used to bombard me with text messages and even requested for my friendship in FB, today nothing again.

Could you imagine that Smile Communications own by Igbos have offices in Lagos, Ibadan, Port Harcourt and last week opened in Abuja yet none in SE.

The reason is attitude, most of us writing here don't even live in igboland yet we want things to be done our ways, how many times have you make out time trying to connect with government aids when the governor himself is very difficult to be reached.
This morning alone I have tweeted to Obiano, I have tweeted to Anambra state government yet they can't even acknowledge your tweet or show concern about your passion.

The issue is that Nigeria political class is pedestrian in administrative know how. People like Obiano who stayed in the US but still construct roads with open gutters and drainages. People like Ikpeazu whom we heard was the ASEPA deputy director but couldn't evacuate heaps of refuse in Aba.
Did Chime lived outside Igboland to know he will construct gutters with sidewalks and closed drainages @ Afam4eva huh?

Visit our universities with departments in many fields and see how ugly the system is.

Do you know that a school in Enugu is supposed to have organized a business tour of the state and present the tourist potentials of the state as well as how to harness the numerous opportunities to the government.

What about Anambra State, don't you think a team of students lead by lecturers in some departments should have explore how to exploit the potentials of Onitsha Waterfront and give their findings to government.

This is why if all these uselesss and stupiid civil servants are complaining of receiving poor treatment from government I will back the government that these docile civil servants are not doing anything. They are just paid to be idle, read newspapers, gossip and carry placards on MayDay for pay rise.

I saw how a sculpture piece in Creek Road by Niger Street Onitsha is being covered in weeds and dirty posters, yet the LG headquarters is the next street. Go to stadium in Onitsha and see how Keke and Okada mechanics have turned the stadium compound to workshops yet Stadium workers do come to work everyday and get paid every month doing nothing.

Infact you guys will be unlucky the day I will be an administrator.
You have spoken well. Note that i also said that we need young individuals who have lived outside Igboland for a considerable amount of time. I have analysed the problem in Igboland it is not just about incompetence. A lot of our ruling class, even the ones that are highly educated are old fashioned. They don't understand the rudiments of how a state should be run in the 21st century. That is why Aba and Ebonyi state are the way they are. People like Theodore Orji and Martin Elechi have no business anywhere near governance. They're not aware that the world has moved on from what it used to be. They ran their states like it was a local government area. Chimaroake Nnamani was highly educated but also old fashioned hence the reason why he focused on education and healthcare. Chime was a more yuppy chap hence the decoration of Enugu with the likes of shoprite and co. We need even younger people that have traversed the globe. That is where Lagos has had an edge above every other state because Fashola has set the pace on how Lagos will be governed. I hope those of us, Young Igbos should start going back to contribute our quota. It's only us that can be the change. We cant sit down in Lagos and be criticizing our states when we have not deemed it fit to do something about the situation on ground.

Most of our politicians in enugu and probably southeast with all their exposure don't have social media presence.
Noticed their counterparts from the west are more active on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn etc.
Their counterparts in the west are more exposed or atleast, employ people that are exposed to help them with tech stuff. The politicians we have in the east are old fashioned people and that is why you rarely see them coming up with 21st century ideas. We need more young people who have lived outside Igboland for a consideration amount of time to mount the saddle. I'm tired of seeing elderly men in power.

We have to understand what the grouse of the Gbagyi people is. is is that the person selected is not from Chikum Local government or just that she is not a Gbagyi person. I want to believe that Chikum does not only contain Gbagyi people indigenously.

I won't be saying all this if Enugu city is in a mess, but it is not. Chime spent 8 years upgrading the city, all that is left is one or 2 roads and regular maintenance of the ones in good condition. So tell me why the present government can't put a little more focus on the rural areas which are in a terrible mess for the greater good of the state? Why can't we have our own Lagos instead of going to drag the place with the owners all the time?
You talk as if Chime has anything against developing Nsukka without realizing that the situation of Nsukka is being experienced by other small towns in Enugu and all over the country, which to me is quite unfortunate. As much as Nsukka is the second most important city after Enugu, it is imperative to note that due to the constant quest for our leaders to keep developing the urban and neglecting the rural, they would rather develop the rural that is closer to Enugu than those that are far off. For instance, they will rather develop other parts of Nkanu like rural Amaechi, Obeagu and Akegbe Ugwu, all in Awkunanaw than develop Nsukka. It's just an unfortunate commentary on what we understand by development and how we don't seem to spread development because we want to create something out of the world in one spot, probably for bragging rights whereas other parts of the state with it's people are neglected. What i have always proposed is the American model whereby, anhywhere that looks an inch like a town should have a mayor that will be saddled with the responsibility of developing their city alone. But come to think of it, we have Local government chairmen that are supposed to be working in the same capacity as a mayor and i keep wondering what they are doing. is it that the funds are not coming or they are not enough or these people are just uber thieves who get money from the center and share it among themselves.

Igbo are self actualized folks and a man is usually an island of himself I.e Igbo are individualistic in nature .... He brought his view to the communal gathering and no person dare fails to recognise such view.

Yoruba are "communalistic" in nature , na one person dey born pikin na one million dey nurture one .... Yoruba operate Monarchical Government thus what matter is collective opinion not individualistic opinion and you can be shut down if you dare speak for yourself and your household instead of the whole society/community.

Igbo in my own view seem to be the majorly odd of all ethnic group in Nigeria because they are different from the rest due to the fact that they are the only group that abhor Central leadership system.

It will be difficult for Igbo and other ethnic group to work together for a long while cuz an average Igbo man wasn't trained to take instruction but gives , he can't follow you for long without that urge to lead you cuz he believe you ain't doing it right .

An Igbo man perform better on his own for real. ......

Unfortunately, we have moved away from communal world , we are now in era of globalization, era of hot Diplomacy and alliances ..... No group can stand alone, You have to come with long spoon and wisdom to endear yourself to the heart of others and win for yourself some resources because communal resources ain't enough no more.
This is gospel. It's for the same reason that Igbos succeed in Business but for the same reason that they fail in politics. Politics in Nigeria requires some form of cohesiveness and not the individualism that Igbos tend to possess.

It doesn't matter where the clamor comes from, unity is strength, I know many people here are interested in having an Adada State that is why they are always cold when Anioma is mentioned because they think it will rob them of the opportunity to have the non viable of a state.

Unification is the most important thing in Igboland, go to Igboville and see how Benue-Igbos are reaching out for their kiths n kins in SE, those in Anioma also doing that as well.

I don't know why it should be wrong for us in SE to extent the hand when we know fully well that integration is the movement now.
Balkanizing them from SE is not of their doing, its the politics of divide and rule and we Igbos shouldn't fold our hands and watch that happen.
Every pragmatic Igbo man and woman should drop personal interest for collective interest of building strong Igbo nation that defy geo-political boundaries.
God bless Anioma State, the 6th South East
I also think the clamour should come from them and not us. I have always been a supporter for the creation of Anioma state for the unification of Igbos but based on my experiences with a lot of this people, i have backtracked a but but still hope they get it. I don't want a situation whereby Igbos will perpetually be seen as land grabbers. It's also imperative to note that the clamour is for one more state to be added to the SOUTHEAST and not IGBOLAND. So, one more state should be added to the present southeast and Anioma can still be created.

I started my French journey at Alliance Francais... It's a French school organised by the French (people from France and other French-speaking African countries)..

See if they've got a branch over there..

I was on the Island of Mauritius for almost 2 years.

I'm aware of Allianz francais and I almost attended it while in Mauritius but didn't have time. I think the one in Nigeria is in the Badagry axis, I'm not sure though. I'm actually looking for one that is not that far. I'll keep searching. Thanks.

PoliticsNigerians Don’t Want Nigeria To Progress by Afam4eva(op): 5:58pm On Jun 29, 2015
I have followed politics actively for about 10 years of my life and if there is something I have noticed, it is that, contrary to what people think, Nigerians don’t want Nigeria to progress. We had an election with the electorate pitching their tent with their preferred presidential candidates for whatever reason, whether rightly or wrongly. An election was conducted and a winner by the name of Buhari emerged. One would have expected the right thinking Nigerians who had badmouthed him whether rightly or wrongly, to give up and support him for the betterment of Nigeria but trust Nigerians to take the hate a notch higher by castigating every action that the president takes. I noticed the same thing with Jonathan’s haters just few months after he assumed the saddle of leadership. These characters are praying and hoping fervently that the president fails, so that we can hear the ever popular retort of reminder “Shebi I told you”.

This guy has barely been in office for one month and his campaign mantra was one of change and despite the fact that I didn’t buy the whole change shebang that the APC presented, I kinda had the belief that BUhari had something in him to make even if it’s a minimal change. I’m eagerly waiting for him to name his cabinet but I’m not so much in a hurry because I don’t know what he has up his sleeves. Let’s just stay calm and allow him work. Atleast after 6 to 12 months, we can start appraising his progress. Until then, let’s stop acting like uneducated spoiled children whose toys have been taken from them. If you love Nigeria like you claim, give this nigga a chance to prove himself. If he fails, we will all keep him out like we did by Jonathan but if he succeeds, our country will be better for it.
