Omooba77: I discovered that many Youth go to clubs from Friday night till Sunday morning, parting, drinking and fornicating heavily. Yet on Sundays; many of them are our choirs, ushers, protocols and Sunday school Teachers. Should this be so; Many of us are so embedded with the World forgeting 1 John 2:14-16
We live in a world of hypocrisy. More so, now that even those tat are supposed to be religious role models themselves are hypocrites.
I think people reserve every right to name their children whatever name they deem fit. However, i think i have to weigh in on the premise behind giving his child a Yoruba name and non Igbo name.
It seems a lot of Nigerians do not understand that being nationalistic does not mean doing away with who you are. Rather it means that despite who you are and where you;re from, you should be open minded to people of diverse culture and religion and should at no point show any form of bias towards them.
Secondly, i can understand a Yoruba man but an Arab (not islamic) name? Some examples of Islamic names are Chukwudi, Chukwuemeka and Oluwatobiloba. it just depends on who is bearing them. Arabic names do not translate to Islamic names. This is one ignorance that has been perpetuated by Africans and it's embarrassing to say the least.
Finally, i think this issue about giving one's children names from other tribes would have been a lovely idea if everyone subscribed to it. I say this because it's only Igbos that i see that are forming nationalism all over the place. I have never seen Hausas or Yorubas giving their children Igbos names just for the sake of it.
No Kain dance wey dem no go use this our defenders dance for Russia. By the time General Messi dance python dance on top their hand, we go no say these our defenders are average at best, nay most of our players.
Congrats to him anyways. I watched him yesterday and i salute his undying and unwavering patriotism to the team.
We're brought up to have divergent views on life. While some think education is paramount, others think that without marriage, they're not fulfilled. We should not always try to force our school on thought on other people. Not every woman will be financially independent. So, let's leave those who think marriage is supreme to follow their heart.
cococandy: lol. You moved on fast I'm married. Thanks for the compliment.
Next girl you get, if she doesn't make you hot soup or tea and press cool towels on your forehead when you're sick( while cradling your head in her thighs) she's not worth the trouble.
I'm glad you said you did the same for your ex, it's real nice that you did that. keep it up, you'll find someone who will reciprocate that. It's important to hold others to the same standards they expect from you.
People nowadays have lost all love and compassion.
I would even take care of someone else that way much less my fiancé/husband.
The OP didn't overreact and what he did sounds like what i'm capable of doing. I also don't think her apparent neglect on that day was the reason for sending her packing. It was just the last straw. She must have been doing things that have been pissing off the OP and he just had the last of it after she refused to show concern to someone who is ill. I don't understand why some ladies think that the only thing they can bring to a relationship is by being demanding financially without add as little as showing some concern for the well being of the man.
I never knew "Nwata Miss" was that old a song. he shot the video of the song in the mid 2000s and i thought that wa sthe first time he was releasing the song.
Ishilove: Kweeke!! My God! So what has happened to that poor child, Joseph jnr? Joseph Snr has probably gone somewhere else in Nigeria to keep haunting the earth.
The phenomenon of Akudaya, or 'embodied ghosts' is so bizarre it can't fully be explained.
Please, people, know the roots of whoever you want to marry to avoid stories that touch
You sha like this kain mysterious stories.
@topic I think sun newspaper should be delicenced for making a mockery of journalism. This is at best fiction.
Fulaman198: I'm not sure what you mean white counterparts they worship. It seems to me that Nigerians on these forums especially from the South seem to worship white people moreso than black Americans. Why is that?
Is worshiping arabs somehow better than worshiping whites?
Nikbaebrown: 2yrs?? Are u joking?? When Last Did Psquare Win The BET's Or Mamas For The Category Of Best African Artistes?? Thats Even An Understatement. When Last Where They Nominated For Those Awards??
According To U, Davido's Just Spent 2yrs Dominating The African Music Industry Yet Hez The Most Followed Celebrity In Africa.
And Wizkid, Just 2yrs And Hez Done Several International Collaborations With Americas Best. Just 2yrs And Hez Sold Out A Concert At Royal Albert. Just Give Them 2 more Years, I"ll Be Coming Back 2 Compare Ur Psquare Thats Been There 4 Decades To Upcoming Wizkid And Davido.
There's a difference between been in circulation and dominating the music industry. Wizkid has been trending since after he released "Holla at your Boy", same with Davido when he released "Dami Duro" but they were not dominating anything. It's just the last few days after the usual suspects such as Psquare, 2Face and co started waning.
Davido is the most followed musician on instagram, always specific because someone else is the most followed on facebook, twitter and other social media platforms.
I'm not here to downplay the achievements of Wizkid and Davido but there's nothing they're doing that Psquare, D'Banj or 2face have not done before. We're i a modern era where youtube is used to judge how popular a music video and you can go and check who is dominating the views on youtube.
Nikbaebrown: 2 D Best Of My Knowledge Tuface Ranked D Most Influential Nigerian Artist In 2015 and 2016. In 2017, He Didnt Make The Top Ten List. So Did Psquare And Dbanj. Nothing Lasts Forever, Even Psquare's Career Is Declining. Wizkids, Olamides And Davidos Have Dominated The Scene. Maybe We Should Start Comparing Them To Psquare And Co. Compare 2face Wit D Likes Of Idris, Stereo Man, Blackface, Faze, Sty-plu,Daddy Showkey, Tony Tetuila, African China Nt Dbanjs
Nobody has ever disputed the fact that 2face is more influential than Psquare and their likes but that's not the same thing as dominating the music scene. Psquare dominating the music scene for over a decade with their hit songs and no current Nigerian artiste comes close.
Wizkid ad Davido has only dominated the music scene for maybe 2 years which is still a very short time. How you compare artiste is that you compare how many hits they had had since they started their career and based on that Psquare are at top of pack.
verygudbadguy: With which songs from the two you mentioned. Which of their song can claim the kinda popularity and message African queen passed across the whole? I have watched Tubaba times without number. He is not in their league. I watched Dbanj performed on Sunday at Eko hotel, he can't never match Tubaba.
Legendary Tubaba doesn't just sIng meaningless songs all the times. He does once in a while but majority of his songs pass messages across to the listeners. I can't remember any meaningful from P-square. Maybe one or two from Dbanj.
Nigerians enjoy mediocrity. They like noise too. That's why WO by Olamide is a hit to majority but doesn't make any sense to me. That's why we have a 74 years old man as a President.
Songs like African queen, One love, Appreciate, Ocho, Thank you Lord, Only me etc could only be sang by Tubaba and no other.
You obviously didn't read my post. I specifically talked about popular song snd not necessary one with message. Nobody is dragging that 2face's songs probably have more message than his contemporaries. But those songs are not necessarily more popular.
Nikbaebrown: U Sure Say U Get Sense So? How Old Are U?? Tuface Overated?? Even Psquare Will Laugh Convulsively At Ur Ridiculous Outburst. U're Undoubtly An Offspring Of The Indomie Generation.
I think he is right apart from the part where he said that 2face is overrated. Truth is, if we're ranking Nigerian musicians not based on their talent or legendary status but purely based on success of their body of work then Psquare will take the number one spot. Yes. 2Face is the crowned legend of Nigerian contemporary music because he was there before a lot of these guys and paves the way for them but he probably will be ranked third behind Psquare and D'Banj.
Rokia2: Psquare Leading the chart. Another reason they need to reconsider this whole separation thing.
I mean their enemies and rivals are happy as hell though.
I'll stick out my neck and say that Psquare have been the biggest and most consistent Nigerian artiste for 15 years now. There's no year that they don't release atleast one hit song. Even now that they're not as consistent as they use to be, they still manage to remain in circulation. If that list is extended to make it top 20, you'll realize that atleast 4 more of Psquare's songs will be there making it a total of 6.
Tiwa is not overshadowing Dija at all. It's Dija herself that's not pulling her weight. Having talent is never enough. You have to work very herd. She should take a cue from Tiwa and Yemi Alade.
Billyonaire: I do not think Buhari is clever enough to win number 12, I think we should dig deep and see if there is provision for number 15, and drop him there. The man is the greatest failure to lead a country.
Chai, una no go kill person
Even before opening the thread , i knew who would carry the day.
laudate: Chai! Hate for the Igbos, kwa? You guys like playing the victim card. Na wa for you, o Afam4eva! And you call yourself a mod. You too have become paranoid like your IPOB crew, as well? Do you chaps see Laudate in your dreams? Make una talk true, o! it sounds as if you chaps need me to validate your ethnic agenda, in some way and you are just pained that I have refused to do so. I guess that was why you banned me several weeks back, not so?
