When would nairaland wake up. The site has not had a significant improvement since its inception. The mods need to wake up to the present day responsibility of social media platforms which is countering and stopping fake news. How can a mod push unverified info to the front page. This site is becoming a dumping ground for sensationalism

...... over to you!

This is exactly the same way the carnage, loss of lives and private properties that happened all over Nigeria in the past few weeks started.
With fake news and fake pictures being circulated all over social media.
It takes nothing to have a Google reverse image search.
I will continue to do my part to make your forum sane.
Sure, my comment will be deleted.
But I have done my part.
Peace out!

Cheap talk. Ojukwu's family are enjoying life with his kids from Bianca all schooling abroad. Go and visit the house of a typial ex-Biafran frontline solider. Pigs cannot even live there because of the squalor.

I am Niger Deltan. We do not use senseless bravado. We back up talk with action. Where we see ourselves unable to match action with words, we do not talk. Where we have the means, we execute strategic strikes that forces the govt to negotiate on our terms.

IPOB are just making noise that cannot be matched with action. A single MIG-29 fighter jet from the Tac Air Command in Makurdi will wipe out an entire platoon of IPOB miscreants in minutes. No be by talk talk.

Good day fellas, October has always been the most volatile month each year, no surprises how last month was for the market. See picture below

BUT November might not be good either given what we all know is coming. The election is not the problem but what comes after, from what ive seen so far, no party is likely going to accept the result easily which won't be good for the market. Investors hate uncertainty

So guys , tomorrow is key if you can't stomach the upcoming uncertainty, better sell and hold or sell and buy the dip.

Good luck everyone
September has always been the most bearish month.

GE is actually coming from a bad fundamental performance.
The good news is that dried bones can rise again, and from the recent quater result released, that is already happening.
They made a quarterly earnings per share of $0.06 against an estimated loss of $0.06 representing an earnings surprise of 200%.
A quater ago, they produced a loss of $0.15/share against an expected loss of $0.014/share.
These are signs of resurrection.

Add your words as bolded above, and you have a company that could become a great investment in the long term at the current $7.36.
As the market tanks, it will be a sweet buy if it can get to $5/$6. Otherwise, if long term is your horizon it is a very good buy at current price.
They has bad fundamentals for. 2015-2018 after they bought Alscom. However the present CEO has been rejuvenating HE. The comoany already has a huge chunk of the wind energy market, accounting for 25% of global installations with many government contracts scheduled.

Eastlink:
The history of that area is muddled if we even go deep. Let me break it down. The Fulani did not really come down to conquer those areas as people may think. Only a few Fulani fighters joined the push. But majority of the Jihadist were indigene. In Bida for instance, the leader of the Jihad was a Nupe. He was even the first Emir of Bida Emirate until a Fulani leader spring up to take power.

Consequently, in Ilorin Afonja lead the Jihad there. Rebelling against Oyo was to make Ilorin an Islamic town. A lot of people don't know that Afonja was a Muslim. He joined forces with Alimi to achieve this task. However, the palace coup that happened in Bida, was what happened in Ilorin. Alimi plotted against Afonja and had him assassinated. It was in the demise of Afonja that Alimi made his son Abubakar the first Emir of Ilorin. It was he Abubakar that structured Ilorin into the Balogun houses. But inspite of Ilorin being ruled by Alimi it wasn’t recognized by Dan Fodio until the coming of Sultan Bello when Abubakr went to collect the Jihad flag. And it was this period that Islamic scholars added Ilorin to the Banza Bakwai Hausa history.

For the other Emirate such as Borgu, it was the British who joined the Bassa emirate in present Niger with that of Kiama emirate in present Kwara into what we know as Borgu emirate in 1954. However, it was the Bassa emirate that fought Ligard tooth and nail before they were defeated. That was why Lugard made Bassa the head of Borgu Emirate.

I'm glad nairalanders are waking up to the factvtgat there are many propagandists who have sinister motives. They would hide under fictitious monikers to cause problem. They would all be exposed.

@oakpearl: what do you think about GE? Not talking because they surprised Wall Street, but the fact that the company has been focusing on rewabke energy and divesting from fossil fuel. I think it is seriously undervalued considering the fact that they are responsible for 25% of wind farm installation globally.

The market is basically reacting to the current covid-19 cases spiralling back up in the US and Europe.

I hear France has activated a nationwide lock down.
Oil price is tanking as result of excess storage in the US.

All of these reminds me of February/March 2020 covid-inspired crash.

Just as with every storm there is a silver lining, this current trend if it continues, could offer a fantastic opportunity to bargain-hunt on very good stocks if they come too low.

The normal challenge then would be that there is no liquidity to fund new purchases.
Na wa.

N/B: If you invested for long term in good stocks, there is no need selling at huge losses. These are also times to buy good dividend stocks at a very high dividend yield as a result of undervaluation by current market sentiment.
I've been praying for this type of buying opportunity since June. I woukd be holding till next week as I anticipate the market woukd tank further

How long does it take to produce a movie...? Nawaooo, someone that left the house last week has already played a lead role in a movie.. another reason I should increas my distance from Nigeria movies.
That's why they don't produce epic movies again. It's more expensive and takes more time..they prefer low budget movies like Jenifa's diaries that was shot in Funke's sitting room
