GenBuhari: @HG it is well with you. ![]() Even though you won't talk to me, I will talk to you. I must say I have missed your peanut logs ![]() |
Ten1: ASUU needed to go back to members, as they practise internal democracy; it would be wrong for them to sign without the member's consent. And pls stop deifying GEJWhy did it take them ages to go back to their members? |
adonismuller: okay I'v heard and admit...please move on !tanx...Oh boy why you come tell them say you get M.Sc now? |

In Europe, if a man shaves off his armpit, girls think he is gay. So they only expect the ladies to do the shaving while guys don't. The truth is, Europe is not as hot and humid as Africa. Even at that, they still smell! |
Fagge has said time and again that ASUU NEC does not have executive powers. They could not sign an MOU until they got the backing of the branches.
Fine and good but they didn't indicate that they will want a signed agreement. They requested for a letter of comfort which I learnt was sent out without signing and they rejected it. They President himself called the Fagge to apologise. The letter was retrieved and signed. They should have indicated their interest in signing an MOU even if at a later date but no they rejected it. |
otokx: It is not every hogwash you respond to; why is FG refusing to sign now and instead resorting to military tactics which even IBB has said did not work.1. You don't push your employer around 2. You don't dishonour the presidency, why did it take them 3 weeks after the meeting to respond to the president? 3. Like the president said, they had 4 days to articulate their demand, why didn't they remember all those? 4. You don't call that hogwash because he said it before Alhaji Fagge who didn't say it was a lie. 5. Otokx ![]() |
ATMC: lol@pom pom...Una dey push when una dey do? me I no dey push. I no gree for that explanation. Ihe oputaranu bu na nani inyo m na-akwa iko. |
chess guru: Hmmm hopefully, I will come around to that.According to Okupe, the FG wanted an MOU to be signed by both parties after the meeting but ASUU preferred letter of comfort (whatever that means). He said this before Fagge who did not counter it. That's the annoying part. |
Demdem:My friend I think you have learned a new attitude since the last time I talked with you, you were not this foul mouthed. Having said that, I have to acknowledge that I didn't see this post of yours not that it would have changed much of my opinion about your approach but I would've put up my post differently. Now in the said post Demdem: I was among the first on this thread and it seems my questions has just been answered. If TRULY the above as highlighted by NGAk are the the main issues i think i will like to allign myself with the Docs somehow. You were not convinced. You were not assertive in condemning the act then as you are in this present case and yet there is no difference between the two cases. Why were you 'thinking' about it then? Why is your decision somehow? You will align with them somehow, why somehow, why not totally? You are not aligning with ASUU somehow. Are you? The bottom line is there is an agreement with the STATE govt (not even the fed) concerning these issues. All parties should learn to honor agreements no matter whatThis is state government. No name calling and no disrespectful words. Here again, 'all parties' was used. You couldn't even muster the courage here to ask the State govt to honour the agreement like you telling the FG. Even though you said agreement should be honoured, you preferred to use 'all parties' which includes the doctors. I have not seen any of your posts where you gave the FG such a privilege in the on-going discussion. Even if the state govt cant afford it now, there are ways u can just cajole these people to be patient and sensitive to other professionals within the sector to avoid any misgivings. This is giving the State government soft landing. Here, the president sat with them for 13 hrs cajoling them but you wouldn't see that. You suggested then and GEJ saw your suggestion and acted on it but you are still calling for his head. You have forgotten that other professional will take a cue from ASUU if all these disrespect to the president is allowed to sail through. They are holding the president to ransome. You didn't think other trade unions are watching. You will only think rationally if Fashola is involved. Deploy the same reasoning in the present case my friend. sacking them for demanding their lawful right (based on this agreement) to me seems to be too harsh. Why 'seems'? Why not say it is too harsh? Seems means you are not sure or you are being careful not condemn your governor. Also the docs needs to be careful. Its getting obvious now that the vast populace seems to be fed up with their incessant strikes. A struggle that seems not be be in the people's good books will eventually fall no matter what and i believe this is what the state govt is capitalizing on.Now you are telling the doc's to be careful. Tell ASUU to be careful too. The same reasoning you posted then applies today. The populace are no longer comfortable with the prolonged strikes that are incessant too. Yet when the students who bear the brunt of the action are here registering their displeasure, you attack them. Is it not obvious to you that vast majority of the populace are no longer in support of the strike? Did you not hear that most chapters wanted the strike called off? This is even worse than the doctors case where there was no breaking of ranks. Within the academics rank, the tune is heavily discordant but you refused to see that. have the docs considered taking the legal route? i understand the fact that they cant dictate to their employers but me think this agreement should be legally binding somehow (someone help out here). You understand this but you are clapping for ASUU for disrespecting the seat of the president of your country and dictacting to FG their employer. You want ASUU to play god to their employer. In the case of Fashola vs doctors you were not sure it is binding, but in the case Jonathan VS ASUU, you are sure it is binding. Haba mana! In summary, the people comes first. The side that has the people at its side will eventually win this struggle. Either the doc or govt, Time will tell. You have refused to see that the students come first here. You have refused to acknowledge that the students want to go back to school. You have refused to understand that ASUU members want the strike called off. You don't even want to give the FG the same chance like you gave the govt of Lagos state. And finally this post still stands. Demdem: I disagree. they arent selfish. many among them are jobless and just needs something to survive. It is there to buttress the fact that you are for the sack even as much as you didn't want anyone to see that. If you don't know, it is an inadvertent support for the sack. Let a third party judge my submissions. My friend, there is not much different from what I said. You didn't attack APC government the way you are attacking the PDP led government. You found it difficult to condemn them infact you didnt condemn them. Demdem, what is good for the goose is good for gander! |
jmaine: Thanks once again bruv . . . .You just shredded the hypocrisy of the Alabosi Progrethieves Congress.Yes bro, we shall continue with our charity work ![]() |
It should be recalled that ASUU had battled the Buhari/Idiagbon regime’s policy of retrenchment of workers and freezing of wages; gave support to the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) when they went on their patriotic strike to rescue the deteriorating health services in Nigeria in 1984.APC should shut up |
berem: Federal Government can never sack lecturers! Babangida and Abacha tried it during their respective military regime,it didn't work. It will not work either under a clueless government headed by Wike a minister of education and Jonathan a president.Fashola tried it with doctors too. |

chess guru: Don't know about insanity, but I do know a thing about trade disputes, and I know that its settled by compromise and negotiation.A professor emeritus from Loughborough University told me how he came to install a HPLC machine in 1983 and they were not enabled to carry out the job. The machine was left out in the open until it rusted away. About $450 000 was released to UNIZIK from STEP B and all they can show for it is an open building and a bus. They needed extra funding to complete part of the equipment they quoted for and as I talk now, the equipment is still outside and yet to be installed. There is so much hypocrisy and politics in this. |
chess guru: U don't understand bro.Thank you very much. Even in African perspective, it is a big insult. Can he do that to the Sultan? |
texazzpete: You know, I keep hearing you students spout this inane logic and it's always hilarious. You said this at the time texazzpete: Don't be silly. You had ONE bad experience with doctors and now it's 'welcome to Nigerian doctors'?!What has changed? |
From the leader of the opposition, the archives say Tinubu urges Fashola to sack striking doctorsNote, this link is no longer available. Punch has removed it but it is here on nairaland where it was posted initially. May be Tinubu paid them to remove it after all Cameron wanted to remove all his campaign promises from the web. Wonders! From the APC presidential candidates It should be recalled that ASUU had battled the Buhari/Idiagbon regime’s policy of retrenchment of workers and freezing of wages; gave support to the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) when they went on their patriotic strike to rescue the deteriorating health services in Nigeria in 1984.http://www.tribune.com.ng/news2013/index.php/en/component/k2/item/18517-why-ASUU-is-always-on-strike.html APC should shut up |
Demdem:Let me tell you that you are a bit hypocritical in your view of things. What you say depends on who is involved. Proof: In may 2012, you made the post below on the first page when Fashola sacked striking doctors. You disappeared and never said any other thing even when the explanation was given. Demdem: someone should kindly tell me what is the bane of contention here. a balanced view please both from the govt side and doctors. I honestly dont know.https://www.nairaland.com/932113/lagos-sacks-striking-doctors On the seventh page, you made the second and the last post on that thread that has to do with sacking of striking workers. This last post shows whose side you are on. Demdem: I disagree. they arent selfish. many among them are jobless and just needs something to survive.https://www.nairaland.com/932113/lagos-sacks-striking-doctors/6 You were supporting the governments decision to sack the striking doctors but you were sly in your approach. It is the same opposition you are talking about that started it. Why didn't you condemn it then? Why are you all over nairaland condemning the present government for doing what you supported just over a year ago and at same time praising the opposition for talking from both sides of their mouths. I put it to you that you are not sincere my bros |
Contesting in a presidential election is like a stimulant and probably an aphrodisiac for Buhari. He is addicted to it. If APC prefers Tambuwal to Buhari, then CPC will pull out of the merger. ![]() |
Demdem:No it is just tommorrow bro. |
Demdem:Unfortunately, they have! See below YesterdayAnother high ranking official (an associate prof) who stayed away from exams, in fact a faculty ASUU rep I heard has signed to resume work while some his co-travellers were still thinking they are together. I can tell you authoritatively that most ASUU members are tired of this treadmill! |
Yesterday Oga How far? Lecturer: I dey I hear say dem dey sign If u wan resume lectures. You be Prof ASUU now so u no sign. Lecturer: How can I? Lecturer: moves away from crowd, drags me along. So u no go sign? Lecturer: in a low voice, I don sign abeg. I no wan make those people know. this job is important to me. Abeg I no wan lose am. In fact make I tell u, this strike don pass me. I surrender. Make the profs dey do am. I go be collateral damage. I no want that. I don laugh taya ooo |
