The companies operating in Nigeria do not take Occupational health and safety serious as the laws guiding it in Nigeria are outdated and in some instances nonexistent. The first step is to get the govt to pass a contemporary Occupational health and safety law into our statutes and then see companies fall in line. The 7th Assembly passed the law but Ex-President GEJ did not sign it into law. I don't know if PMB can still assent this bill or it has to be passed afresh by the 8th Assembly. The focal point of this discussion should be how to mobilise to get PMB to assent to this bill or how to get the 8th Assembly to reconsider the bill if necessary. Nigeria companies will never take Occupational health and safety serious unlesss if backed by strict laws and strict enforcement. |
maasoap:Mine didn't come with that. It just has a plug, it can't be hung. I just plug it at different places. And move it around so that kids won't play with it. |
maasoap:It's nice. That is what i'm also using. I recharged it yesterday and was given cash back for the cost of the metre in form of units. It was so cool. The only issue I have with the interface is just that it cannot be hung somewhere. I keep moving it around different places in the house. I'm yet to get a permanent place for it. |
metronaija2:FFK, you better go repair the leaking roof of your house. D |
Progressive01:...very good gay pornsta ![]() ...he sure is adept at licking balls ![]() |
Katyusha:I just don't understand. The daftness no be small. It seems the defeat of Jonathan last year has affected their brains. They conjure spurious assertions and will be arguing with their entire strength on its validity. |
24hrsmarriage:It seems they have just released a multitude of shallow thinkers from a reservoir somewhere. I cant imagine some comments i'm seeing here and there. Chai, these comments are a big embarrassment to this country. Wetin concern wife of the president with Federal Executive Council meeting?? Chai, I never knew people are this dumb in this country. The silly comments just like the one above are everywhere; on Vanguard, Linda, and PunchNg sites. But nairaland seems to be their headquarters. |
Politicians and drama. I don tire for them sef. |
Well-mannered beautiful woman. |
'I'm much more optimistic today than I've been in many years, as far as the economy is concerned" Emir of Kano says http://www.lindaikejisblog.com/2016/08/im-much-more-optimistic-today-than-ive.html Emir of Kano and former Central Bank governor, Muhammadu Sanusi II says he is more optimistic of Nigeria's economy now than he has ever been in many years. Sanusi said this while speaking to newsmen in Abuja yesterday August 3rd "What the government has done by fighting insecurity and corruption provides an environment where government policies can thrive. The recent steps that have been taken by deregulating the oil sector, liberalizing the Forex market, meeting with economists, and setting up a proper economic team, suggests that there is now attention focused on real economic issues. I am much more optimistic today than I have been in many years as far as the economy is concerned. We are going through a difficult time. We are always bound to go through difficult times when the oilprice crash and with all the mismanagement of the past but I think right now, we are finally about to turn a corner. We need to be realistic, nobody should expect overnight that things will change. Inflation will be with us for sometime, recession will be reversed gradually"he said Posted by Linda Ikeji at 10:15 AM Sanusi Supports Downstream Deregulation, Requests Nigeria’s Patience Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, on Wednesday supported the deregulation of the downstream sector and the liberalisation of the foreign exchange market. The Emir of Kano said this while speaking at a lecture series at the National Defence College, Abuja. The Emir sees the deregulation as a turning point for Nigeria and hopes that it would lead to the much needed change and transformation if sustained. “The recent steps that have been taken to deregulating the oil sector, liberalising foreign exchange market, meeting with economists and setting up a proper economic team suggest that there is now attention focused on real economic issue. “I’m much more optimistic today that I’ve been in many years as far as the economy is concerned,” he said. A Wining Economy The monarch said that the efforts of the Federal Government to tackle corruption and insecurity shows that there is a real focus on the economy. “I think that the building blocks have been put in place. What the government has done by fighting insecurity and fighting corruption provides an environment where economic policies can thrive,” he added. He appealed to Nigerians that the anticipated change would come with some form of inflation and recession, but said that Nigeria would gradually return to a booming economy. http://www.channelstv.com/2016/08/03/sanusi-supports-downstream-deregulation-requests-nigerias-patience/

Good! The Northernization continues ![]() |
GreatSE:This is not about Amaechi. It is not a FGN project. FGN just needs to approve as it falls under her purview to grant such approvals. The project has been in the books far before Amaechi came on board. GEJ administration did not give approval to the project, despite that it's a PPP. He played politics with the aspirations of Lagos. Luckily he is out of the saddle, and a new government desperate to create jobs has no option but to give approval. And even moreso, since the state and the federal are aligned politically. You blame others for everything but refuse to question your own. Why have u not called Akpabio to question over the Ibaka sea port?? Akwa-Ibom has sufficient funds to contribute to the project but did not. Why should u blame Lagos for being successful and forward thinking? The money Akpabio spent on building that beautiful stadium, don't you think it would have yielded more economic benefits if it was used to build a modular petroleum refinery or a sea port?? |
This is a private sector driven project. Nobody is stopping other private sectors from siting an investment in the form of a sea port in PHC, Calabar or Akwa Ibom. Those states should get their ass up and go and look for the investment. This project has been in the books since Fashola era, it was just delayed because GEJ withheld approval for it. Lagos wants to develop abeg, no one should hold it down. Haters kindly note that this is in addition to the ongoing Lekki Sea Port. |
maimalari:Abeg show us some pictures jor to aggravate their frustration. ![]() |
Dcomrade:Wailing zombies of course! Children of anger and hate. People on self imposed frustration borne out of inability to move on after election defeat. |
Beautiful woman. |
They will soon invade this thread with their shallow reasoning. Pathetic wailing zombies. They were the ones that asserted that she can't go to the US. When it became apparent that she will be going, they starting screaming that she is covered by immunity. Later when she didn't go as per the first rumored visit, they rolled out their drums and their toxic useless mouths to talk trash at this lovely and wonderful wife/mother. When it was released by the media that she'd be going to the US in Aug, they still didn't back down and observe things unfold like intelligent folks, in their usual idiotic and frustrated characteristics, they went about jeering and insulting this well mannered first lady. Can they ever be redeemed?? May their wailing continue till eternity! ![]() |
Good development. But we need a modern rail line from that Badagry port and that will pass through all the South West states to the North. So that goods can be easily evacuated from this port. I just wish Ambode will cool down and give Fashola the needed respect. If he does that, Fashola will really help him and make his job easier. |
tobtap:A dam is simply a wall. If u look at the picture very well, you will see that a concrete embankment is about to be constructed. That is the dam. A lot of people erroneously think dam is water. A dam is not a body of water. |
xtivin:It was not removed, just repositioned. |
For real? |
Some Judges get liver sha. See judgement Judicial rascality of the highest order. |
nnachukz:My point is, APC is fully in charge of the executive and can be validly blamed for non-performance at that level. At the legislature you can't correctly say APC is responsible for the shortcomings there as they are not fully in control. Let either party be fully in control of the legislature so that blames can be appropriately apportioned. |
Dresden:Where did this one crawl out from? You better take your childish tantrums elsewhere. |
cktheluckyman:When you are the Deputy Senate President ffor 8 years, your constituency has changed from the enclave he come from to the whole country. How come, you decided to be hyperventilating instead of showing his achievements to his state and country?? Does that mean he does not have any achievement to brandish as a Deputy Senate President for 9 years and counting ![]() Thank God, the candidate they are pushing forward as his replacement is an Igbo man. If not, I know folks like u will already be screaming that they want to marginalise the Igbos and the campaign to unseat him is hate related. Our politicians are too desperate and it stems from followership. Let Ekeremadu willingly step down, so that APC can have their own from the SE on the seat. He was DSP for 8 years under the PDP leadership, let him come and champion the PDP course when they are fully in control. As the case is now, the senate may just remain in a confused state till the end of their tenure to the detriment of the country. Another good option is for Saraki to decamp to the PDP. And let it be clear cut that it is the opposition that is control of the senate. It's quite simple and doesn't call for hyperventilation. |
nnachukz:Ekeremadu has not made any impact in the legislature since the time he has been Deputy Senate President. More than 9 years now. Or do you know of his achievements to his community, state and country all those years? Without hating, I sincerely will like to see another name and face on that seat. I would have loved for APC to put their choice candidates on that seat so that they won't have excuse at the end of this legislative term. Presently, the current legislature has not achieved anything worth praising and you can't morally blame APC/PDP for it. Let's have a clear cut party in leadership, so that we can know who to blame. It is either Saraki decamps to the PDP, and we all know it is the PDP in charge of the senate, or Ekeremadu steps down for an APC candidate. |
No inconclusive election, no violence. Does that mean they have more matured politicians up North? |
Their budget jumped from 22 billion in 1999 to 150 billion in 2011. Chai, these guys are rogues. They also stopped providing details of their budget. Till date, Bukola Saraki has still not released details of the budget of the National Assembly. And some mofos are still supporting and encouraging him. We have seen the details of the budget of the Executive and has appropriately criticized extravagant spending, but till date, details of the budget of the NASS has remained vague like that of the KGB. These crooked National Assembly has also succeeded in dividing Nigerians along party and tribal lines, to the extent that if you criticize anything about them, some mofos will call it 'ethnic intolerance'. I am just tired of this country. |
Nigeria is blessed with different difficult terrains for training. We have the desert terrain in the North for training, the creeks in the South for amphibious training and the jungle in different parts parts of the country for jungle warfare training. |
