princewole22:Thanks for your reply. But is this template available for public enlightenment and information or it is only customs and clearing agents that has access to it? |
saintjoel:Nice pictures. Keep up the good work. Which is cheaper to clear trucks (specifically 30tons, 1998 and below), land via Cotonou or Lag ports? |
femmy2010:So is this template available for public enlightenment and information or it is only customs and clearing agents that has access to it? |
jarkbauer:I think the cost of shipping is also used in the calculation. |
femmy2010:Please what do they use in arriving at their valuation? Do they have a standard template or it is dependent on the mood of the person doing the valuation? |
JaaizTech: oliverjiad:Is the cost of clearing done as per the cost of purchase of the car over there, or there is a general base value that customs use for the year/brand of the imported car? I think if you answer the question from that angle, you would have educated a lot of people. |
otedola1:Please what was the total cost of clearing that truck and its associated load? They were cleared separately I think? The car on top including the bus looks like broken down vehicles. Or were the tyres removed so that they can fit? If they are actually broken down vehicles, were they cleared like other good cars with the usual percentage of duty, inspection and port surcharges? I'm in the process of making a similar import which is the reason for my plenty questions ![]()

ubecharles:Well it may sound Yoruba, but that is the local government in Ondo state where Ondo state Ijaws are domiciled. Does 'Oborowei' written on that cardboard sound yoruba to u? |
Chai, see bigots making a fool of themselves. Can't you see that is Ijaw? Does the names of the gods written there look yoruba to you? Ese Odo local government is the Ijaw local govt in Ondo state. |
Two months holiday yet earning millions! Who gets 2 months holiday? Even Buhari that everybody was calling fragile has only had less than 2 weeks holiday. |

beshiman:I have added the recruitment link to the post. |
seunmsg:Thank you jor. Dont mind them, some of them that cannot scale through a competitive recruitment process will go about wailing that they have already employed some people before the process, instead of admitting they flopped. |
lawrenzi:This is a very wrong mindset. I have buddies working in some govt agencies. This is the same thing some people told a number of them when they initially applied for the roles, but they decided to have a positive mindset and went through the entire process successfully without knowing anybody. Today, some alarmists and pessimists like you when they hear where they work still ask them who assisted them into the agency. |
Good to know that the current administration has jettisoned the idea of buying scratch cards for recruitment into Federal Government agencies. That was so irritating before. Even private sectors that govt is supposed to regulate does not do that. |
Kindly find below Mynd44, OAM4J let the people know that the FGN is recruiting, so that it won't be alleged later that a secret recruitment was done. http://vacancy.fedcivilservice.gov.ng/ The link does not go atimes, just keep refreshing, it'll open later.

So many opportunities in Lagos. The success stories of Lagos has just begun. |
People are so shallow and myopic in this country. The indirect benefits far outweighs the direct benefits. It's like an iceberg. With all the billions Akwa Ibom has collected, their socio-economics is nothing close to that of Lagos. |
Taich:Look at how you are contradicting yourself. You claimed policy inconsistency is a major challenge, and you are already advocating for unbundling of the super ministries even before they have used 1 year! According to you, because they are not working. Is that not inconsistency of the highest level? What is with Nigerians and impatience sef? You need good data over time before you can run your mouth that a policy is not working. Those super ministries are yet to use even 1 year. Why not let them run for at least 2 years, we can then do a comparison of the amounts allocated to them while they were individual smaller ministries and how far they were able to achieve their mandate.... Then also compare their performance as a 'super ministry' in relation to funds made available to them and achievement of set objectives. That is how to make informed assertions and not just talking in abstraction. Most of these successful developed foreign countries we like to make reference to, how many ministries/departments of govt do they even have?? In Nigeria, we want to have ministry for every little thing. That was how I was reading the other day that a state has Ministry of Chieftaincy affairs and also has Ministry of Tourism and culture. Is that not unnecessary waste and bureaucracy? I don't see anything super in combining Ministry of Transportation and Aviation. They are supposed to be together. It's only Fashola's Power, Works and housing that looks a little cumbersome due mainly to the addition of power to works and housing. But given that direct govt control in the electricity value chain has significantly reduced, there is little available for govt to do except effective and efficient regulatory overview and interventions when necessary. And we can always assess how successful the merger is after a while, not less than 1 year with no obvious comatose. |
comcentury:How much can you bring this in for me?

Emmaoga:The way you reason is also baffling. I can tell you 95 percent of people who read and listened to that PMB's speech will not know there are insertions there. It is only someone who has taken time to read Obama's speech that will know. Kindly take not of the use of "taken time to read". I read that Obama's speech years ago. And I also read PMB's speech. And didn't notice. PMB can never notice. So you mean whenever a speech is delivered to him to make his contributions, he has to first get all the speeches by world leaders and compare it to it ![]() The speech writer should know better than copy someone else's speech. The person's job is on the line at the moment. All world leaders have speech writers, all they do is to look at it and make personal inputs before approving it. |
Naughtysite:This is talking about the solid mineral sector. |
The FG is quite generous with these offers. I just hope this their generosity delivers the stimulation the solid mineral sector needs. |
To boost job creation, federal ministry offers foreign investors 3-year tax holiday As part of incentives to serious investors, Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has offered prospective investors in the Nigerian mining sector three years’ tax holiday. This incentive would commence from the date such investor resumes mining operations in the country. The Minister stated this while speaking at the opening session of the recently concluded Africa Down Under Conference in Australia. Fayemi said “the country is determined to return stronger to the global ore and mineral market and would drive the growth and development of the sector through the private sector.” Other incentives approved by the federal government for investors in the mineral and mining sector include exemption from customs and import duties on mining equipment, sole ownership of companies by such investors, favourable tax regime and royalties. While showing graphical images detailing incentives applicable in other countries including Australia, USA, South Africa and Chile, he made it known that the incentives being offered by the Nigerian government are more generous. The minister also identified security as another major area the government is investing in so as to ensure security of investments and investors. In his words, “Our government has a renewed commitment to the improvement of security across mine site, logistic related security and general terrorism,” he said. He reiterated that Nigeria is determined to build a world-class minerals and mining ecosystem designed to serve a targeted domestic and export market for minerals and metals, adding that part of the vision of the ministry is to contribute to job creation. http://monitor.ynaija.com/2016/09/fg-boost-job-creation-offers-foreign-investors-mining-sector-3-year-tax-holiday-fayemi/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter Lalasticlala, Mynd44, OAM4J |
ykmotors:This price is quite high, is this Naija price or Cotonou? |
If true, that would be very petty of GEJ. Send it will be very wicked to imagine only PDP states got the chunk of the ecological funds and there is no visible projects to show for that. |
supersystems:The CBN still has a lot of independence that Emefiele is not exercising. He seems a timid man, and that timidity is doing the country a lot of ills. He should take a particular monetary policy stance if he is 100% sure that is the right way to go and stand by it. That is how a man does things. If Buhari is not comfortable with that, he can then push him out. We all saw how Sanusi stood his ground with GEJ and he was sent packing. Despite being sent packing, is Sanusi worse off today?? Definitely not! Let Emefiele be a man abeg. At the moment, he is doing badly with the monetary policies. He also messed up the forex with his somersaulting policies. He cannot blame Buhari, he should take his stand or step aside. The constitution has already done its part by shielding him to some extent. He should take his stance and if Buhari forcibly pushes him out, everyone will know he has done his part. |
