Jonathan should back down against this postponement. It may take a new direction and spell doom for our democracy. What's his issue sef? |

Sunnybobo3:INEC: Ballot papers ready, 48 million PVCs distributed http://www.punchng.com/news/inec-ballot-papers-ready-48-million-pvcs-distributed/ Please take the correction above. With the correction, that makes it 70% that have collected their PVCs. The election is good to go! No need for postponement. Meanwhile.......GMB/PYO!!! |
Soludo stated clearly that the amount is either mismanaged, stolen or unaccounted for. |
Kudos to INEC Jega. Let the elections proceed as scheduled! Meanwhile.......GMB/PYO! ![]() |
Chai, Lawyers and their way of turning things on its head ![]() Hope this line of defence they want to chart will not put them in more heat. Well, that is good for the 'Change movement! |
Soludo did not saying 'missing' verbatim. He said as much as 30Trillion has either been mismanaged, missing or stolen. Find a verbatim quote from his letter below: "I will show that while you are introducing austerity measures and soon to immiserate the citizens, our public finance is haemorrhaging to the point that estimated over N30 trillion is missing or stolen or unaccounted for, or simply mismanaged— under your watch! We can’t go on like this, and I am convinced that an alternative future is possible." |
When will these PDP desperadoes start making use of their brain? From the advert, they themselves can see the handwriting on the wall, that is why their desperation is crossing the ethical and moral line. Smh God will definitely deliver us from their hands. |
lokoloko84:Pls tell the dreamers. |
We need to up our game in this country. We usually claim we are a nation of smart people, but we are still grappling with solving power issue. Is that not shameful? This write up will be read all over the world about how ineffective and inefficient our leaders have been in the past. This is a time of decision. We have tried GEJ and there has been not noticeable change. Lets give our mandate to GMB/APC with a stern message that we must have at least 18hrs of constant light after their 2 year reign in office, and if they fail to perform, we kick them out again. By that, we'll be telling the politicians that the power to hire and fire indeed reside with the people and our decision will be based on measurable performance. |
moderatorr1:You guys irritate me. That someone is in opposition and not in govt is not the end of the world. A lot of people has been in opposition for so long. It is this kind of mentality that makes politics a 'do or die thing'. Buhari's loss is very unlikely, and even at that, Amaechi based on his pedigree can be relevant both in and out of govt. |
maestroferddi:When these things come up, a wise man considers it and take the necessary steps to right any suspected wrong whether the letter seems to be true or not. There is nothing like scaremongering in what I wrote, if urgent steps are not taken in Nigeria we may find ourselves there. You saying a soldier cannot write such is because you have not been pushed to the wall, in a situation where you cannot protest or question your superiors. This is like a warning that there is growing discontent among the junior officers. If you are close to the military you'll know this is true. Infact, just try and involve any military officer close to you in a discussion and you'll get the answer yourself. It is better the leadership of this country takes the necessary steps now before we have a coup in our hands. When there is discontent and murmurs among the junior and midlevel soldiers it usually ends up in a coup attempt. I'm very sure a coup attempt at this time will fail, but the end result may not look good at all. It may result in a break of command among the different military formations. |
attoskoly:That is the same mistake Elder statesmen has maintained GEJ made that put us in this mess. Always blaming the opposition for everything! And as such, he does not take a sound well reasoned decision. |
Seun:The name that would have been the most important release is that of the person that wrote a letter to the president. I wonder why they decided to keep the name. Spilling out the name would have given the letter some more credibility. Well, for now I guess they just want our attention to be on the Chief of Operations and the ADC to the president. |
Every wise heart should know that this portends danger to the unity of this country. History will never forgive GEJ if there is a breakdown of law and order among the rank and file of the military. Infact, this will lead to balkanization of Nigeria with different militia in control of different parts of the country and an endless war of attrition. The resultant bloodshed and confusion cannot even be imagined. I have no reason to doubt this letter giving the rate at which soldiers are being court martialed at this time. And also due to my interaction with an army officer I gave a ride sometimes back. I think it is time the council of state told the president the plain truth that some corrupt senior military officers needs to be punished in order to restore confidence and the morale of the rank and file. And the issue of welfare and adequately equipping the army, especially those at the theatre of war should be giving a priority if we don't want to experience a wide spread mutiny leading to chaos and anarchy. He that hath ears, let him hear. |
Mogidi:Why are u so dull at hearing. I said u should stop putting Ondo in your calculation! Buhari will trash PDP squarely in Ondo. Now pls let this stick to your head, the only places GEJ will get some reasonable votes in the places u mentioned are Plateau and Benue. Even at that, GMB will contend with him to a reasonable extent. GEJ may only record a 55% to 45% win over the GMB wind of change currently blowing across the nation in those places. |
Salihu00:Thanks! Noted, will make the correction ASAP. |
Trailblazer1:Story for the Gods. This is an indictment on him for your information. The election was obviously manipulated and the judiciary has to come in to settle the wrong. |
Congrats APC. Victory has already started in earnest ![]() The nairaland guys monitoring the election stated categorically that it was manipulated then, some PDP mofos were making jest of them and sneering that it is only online that APC keeps winning. Well sorry PDP. APC is going to massively clear Niger votes to your uttermost dismay. The North Central is going to the APC! Congrats to all APC supporters ![]() Buhari for change! |

PDP LOSES NIGER EAST SENATORIAL BY-ELECTION TO APC AS TRIBUNAL NULLIFIES ELECTION RESULTS Justice Bako saw the APC candidate returning with 79,779 votes as against Dr. Shem Zagbayi Nuhu of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who had 68,525 votes. The National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal in Minna on Friday upturned the result of the Niger East Senatorial by-election conducted on August 30, 2014. The by-election was concluded on the 6th of September, 2014 in favor of Barrister David Umaru of All Progressives Congress (APC). The Chairman of the 3-man tribunal, Justice Ibrahim Bako gave the verdict in a judgement that lasted for hours. Justice Bako saw the APC candidate returning with 79,779 votes as against Dr. Shem Zagbayi Nuhu of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who had 68,525 votes. Umaru of APC had petitioned the tribunal challenging the declaration of Nuhu of PDP by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the winner of the by-election. This brings the number of APC Senators in the state to two – Niger East and Niger North Senatorial districts while PDP hold on to its control of Niger South Senatorial district. http://saharareporters.com/2015/01/30/pdp-loses-niger-east-senatorial-election-apc-tribunal-nullifies-election-results Wow its true. "The family cautioned the Peoples Democratic Party against using their late father’s arrest as a campaign to smear Buhari." - Ajasin family I hope the PDP will listen to this and adhere. |
WE’VE FORGIVEN BUHARI, SAYS AJASIN FAMILY FAMILY of the late Chief Adekunle Ajasin,a former leader of the Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, said they have forgiven Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, for the detention of their father in 1984 under Buhari’s military administration. The family cautioned the Peoples Democratic Party against using their late father’s arrest as a campaign to smear Buhari. Speaking on behalf of the family, Chief Tokunbo Ajasin, said in Akure on Thursday that his late father, who was Ondo State governor from 1979 to the sacking of the second republic on December 31, 1983, forgave Buhari before his death. He said, “It will be totally wrong for anybody to say that General Buhari jailed my father. No, that is not correct. It was true that my father was detained under Buhari’s military regime along with other former governors in Nigeria and two panels of enquiry were consequently set-up to look into the allegations against my father and others, but the panels found my father innocent and exonerated him as well. “What Buhari did then was part of military policies and tradition. Though many Nigerians were not happy with that but my father had since forgiven Buhari before his demise. “Let me also tell you that as far as the issue is concerned, the family of Ajasin had forgiven Buhari as well because as Christians we should learn and exhibit the spirit of forgiveness always. The Bible says father forgive us as we forgive those who offend us.” Tokunbo said he met Buhari at a function sometime ago and that they happily embraced each other, indicating that all was well. He said himself and his sister, Mrs. Jumoke Anifowose, were part of the crowd that received Buhari and his running mate, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, at the Akure airport during his presidential campaign rally in Ondo State. Also, the Ondo State Coordinator of Buhari/Osinbajo presidential campaign, Mr. Ife Oyedele, accused the PDP of unduly capitalising on the Buhari/Ajasin saga to score cheap political points. He said the APC as a progressive party should be more concerned about the welfare of Ajasin’s family than the PDP that was antagonistic of the interest of the Yoruba race. “You cannot cry more than the bereaved. We are happy that the Ajasin family has come to clear the air on this issue,” Oyedele said. http://www.punchng.com/news/weve-forgiven-buhari-says-ajasin-family/ Copyright PUNCH. All rights reserved. Wow, what a coincidence. Infact I found it difficult to believe GEJ was also in the service. Infact, if not that Mummy mentioned it,I would have suspected that it was doctored. This is a unique historical coincidence worthy of frontpage! Seun do something na. |
