Chad armoured column heads for Cameroon to fight Boko Haram

By Afp
21:58 16 Jan 2015, updated 21:58 16 Jan 2015

Dozens of Chadian tanks headed out of the capital Friday south towards Cameroon to help fight Nigeria's dreaded Boko Haram insurgents.

The convoy, seen by an AFP journalist, roared out of the city after Chad's parliament voted to send armed forces to Cameroon and Nigeria to fight against the Islamists.

It is rumoured to be eventually heading to Baga, the town on the shores of Lake Chad were as many as 2,000 people were massacred by the militants in a raid on January 7 described by US Secretary of State John Kerry as a "crime against humanity".

Cameroon's President Paul Biya had announced Thursday that his Chadian counterpart Idriss Deby had agreed to send "a substantial contingent" of troops to help Cameroonian armed forces, who have faced repeated attacks from Boko Haram.

The Russian ambassador to the country also pledged to supply Cameroon with more modern weapons to combat the extremists.

The deployment came as the head of the west African ECOWAS bloc called for tougher action against Boko Haram, floating the possibility of a special African Union summit on "a plan of action to deal permanently with the issue of terror on our continent".

Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama said, "We cannot stand by silently, idly waiting for the international community to intervene on our behalf, not when our brothers and sisters are being butchered and burnt in their homes and on the streets of their villages and towns."

A source close to the Chadian army said the force had begun preparing for departure on Thursday.

Boko Haram is fighting to create a hardline Islamic state in northeast Nigeria along the border with Chad, Cameroon and Niger. But it has recently expanded its attacks to neighbouring countries.

Cameroon has been critical of the passivity of the Nigerian authorities and of muted international reaction in the face of Boko Haram aggression.

Since Boko Haram's insurgency began, around 135,000 people have fled the restive northeast of Nigeria, and at least 850,000 have been displaced inside the region.

So far Chad has been spared, but its border is not far from the Islamists' strongholds in the Nigerian state of Borno.

The entry of Chadian forces in the increasingly regional fight against Boko Haram may prove valuable in halting the extremists' sweeping offensives.

- An horrendous slaughter -

After describing Boko Haram as a direct threat to the nation's "vital interests", Chadian leaders moved quickly to deploy units of the country's powerful armed forces.

In 2013 Chadian troops became formidable allies of French forces battling jihadist who had taken control of northern Mali, and played an important role in routing those extremists out into the remote areas of the Sahel.

As they did so, Chadian soldiers gained a reputation for ruthless efficiency in pursuing and liquidating retreating Islamist fighters, and were credited with killing some of the most wanted radical leaders.

One of Chad's main objectives in joining its neighbours to take on Boko Haram is re-taking the northeast Nigerian town of Baga, which the extremist group stormed on January 7 amids reports of the worst atrocities of their six-year insurgency.

Over 3,500 of buildings in Baga and outlying areas are thought to have been razed, with perhaps as many as 2,000 people massacred, and hundreds of people taken captive.

"Boko Haram kidnapped at least 300 women and held us in a school in Baga," a non-identified woman quoted in a statement released Thursday by Amnesty International said.

"They freed the older women, the mothers, and most of the children after four days, but they are still holding the younger women," she said.

On Thursday US Secretary of State Kerry warned that the torment of Baga was a particularly stark reminder of the threat the group poses to the region and world.

"It's an enormously horrendous slaughter of innocent people, and Boko Haram continues to present a serious threat not just in Nigeria and the region but to all of our values and all of our sense of responsibility regarding terrorism," he said
I hope u can see how irresponsible the international community sees our President. He ignored the enormosity of the happenings and killings going on in most parts of NE for political reasons.

You can imagine the insult, it is now Chad parliament that is now mandating their army to go into Nigeria and recapture Baga as one of its objectives. Who knows their other objectives, maybe to parmaently take over Maiduguri. I'm sure our callous president will not mind that, if the end result is that it will deny GMB votes in the coming election.

I hope u can see the quotes from Ghana that I highlighted and those of comments of US. Is our president talking in like manner?? Definitely no! He's just to slow and selfish.

I hope u can also see part of your story I highlighted for you where the Cameroonian authorities clearly indicted the Nigerian govt by stating that they are passive with the Boko Haram fight.

Jona may eventually be tried at the world court for crimes against humanity because of this his purposeful negligence of duty.

I seriously suspect Chad and Cameroon for this Boko haram wahala. This Boko Haram issue is actually an international issue which the FGN did not attend to decisively initially and even now in order to score political points. Now it has boomerang and will among other serious issues ultimately lead to the sacking of this present govt.

Is this not the same Chad, that we have smacked their head into responsible behaviour in times past?

Nigeria has the might to cut down this Boko haram demons and even deal with Chad.

We urgently need to demand the FGN to provide answers to us why our army seems to be on systematic stand down.
PoliticsIdriss Deby Of Chad Deploys Troops To Capture Nig’s Baga Wtout Gej's Permission by agabusta(op):
Article written by Dr. Peregrino Brimah

That there is a vacuum in Nigeria’s leadership is not in dispute; however the recent declaration by the president of Chad, Idriss Deby compounds Nigeria’s delicate situation and threatens the nation’s sovereign integrity. As reported by the AFP in an article of January 17, 2015, captioned “Thousands see off Chadian troops to fight Boko Haram,” Idriss Deby the authoritarian leader of Chad, Nigeria’s north eastern neighbor, said “in a speech read by the speaker of parliament that the new deployment (of Chadian troops to Cameroon) is aimed to recapture Baga.” Cameroon had requested for and welcomed the deployment that saw 400 Chadian military vehicles arrive in Cameroon. [AFP] However Nigeria was not invited to the table.
Nigeria’s military leadership as quoted by the AFP are “lukewarm.” The word is defined by Google dictionary thus: “(of a person, attitude, or action) unenthusiastic.” Nigeria’s military spokesperson, GEN Olukolade said as quoted by the AFP: “All support for our operations will be welcome, but it must conform with our own ongoing operations.”

In as much as Baga at the border with Chad and another 14 to 20 local governments in Nigeria by all means needs various degrees of military liberation from Boko Haram’s control, a Chadian intervention without approval by the African union or explicit approval by Nigeria’s government, even though lacking and inebriated infringes on the laws of national sovereignty; and prompts further suspicion of the intentions of Nigeria’s neighbors who have reportedly been permissive and in some cases frankly supportive of Boko Haram [See CNN]. The Chadian government and the government of Niger pulled out their troops from the multi-national force stationed at Nigeria’s northeastern border late last year leading up to and enabling the Boko Haram massacre that resulted in 2500 to 3000 dead.

The stationing of troops by Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad and Niger by November 1 of 2014 was agreed upon by the four nations at the Paris summit in May of last year. Acknowledging a vacancy of leadership in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital of government; the new do-it-our-way, without Nigeria’s or any other openly known regional or global union’s explicit authorization challenges years-long developed modalities of territorial interrelation. Boko Haram terrorists are known to organize, train and source weapons from Chad, Niger and Cameroon. Nigeria has over the past years demanded these nations seal their borders and disallow terrorist’s assemblies on their soil. The McCain approach of total disregard to “some guy called Goodluck Jonathan,” disregards Nigerians as a whole and compounds an already highly suspicious situation and pits Nigerians to choose between Boko Haram (mostly) foreign terrorists’ invasion and foreign leaderships’ invasion. Nigerians in the affected territories swear that Chad president, Idriss Deby is a sponsor and financier of Boko Haram. A majority of Boko Haram insurgents are Chadians [SaharaReporters, Jan 14, 2015]. There is undeniably a serious problem here. In the course of Nigeria’s French neighbors partnering and protecting their interests, this cannot be done with permission of terror to Nigeria and at any risk to Nigeria’s territorial integrity. [See: “Serious Allegations of Cameroon, Chad Arming Boko Haram Is Act of Terror And War;” ENDS.ng Oct 14, 2014]

In October last year, Nigeria’s president and the president of Chad jointly declared a very suspicious cessation of fire against Boko Haram [Which ENDS promptly rejected on behalf of Nigerians]. This leadership ‘blunder’ which world unions and lead groups were slow to recognize led to the strengthening of Boko Haram and the deaths of thousands more innocent Nigerians and Cameroonians. The world cannot continue to sit and watch these deadly conspiracies and administrative ‘errors.’

John Dramani Mahama, of Ghana, head of the regional Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS on Friday called for an African action against the Boko Haram regional threat. Absent a change of Nigeria’s incapacitated government, this is the right action, long overdue. On behalf of the people of Nigeria, we demand Nigeria, Chad and Cameroon sit down and negotiate the full modalities of any incursion by Chad and/or Cameroonian forces into Nigeria’s territory, and that the urgent agreements reached as sanctioned exigently by the African union.

Archisola:
I [s]respect the decision of those Christians
who support Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. It is
their prerogative to do so. My opposition to
Gen. Buhari has nothing to do with his
being a Muslim. Those who follow my
Facebook posts know that I have been
advocating that Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo,
the Governor of Gombe State, should
become Nigeria's President in 2019 after
President Goodluck Jonathan's second term.
Alhaji Dankwambo is a Muslim Fulani but he
is very sound. He is very intelligent,
professional, urbane, focused, visionary and,
more importantly, he is not an Islamist.
What do I have against Isalmists? An Islamist
is a Muslim fundamentalist who subscribes
to Political Islam based on the Wahabbist
and Salafist schools of thought. They believe
that Sharia Law should govern society and
they try to impose their beliefs on the
educational system, media, culture, politics,
the economy and all aspects of life. Some
Islamists are violent and have terrorism as in
their main agenda. But most Islamists are
subtle. They are found in the academia,
financial institution, politics and other
pursuits. They are non-violent in the main
but are just as dangerous as their terrorist
peers. You would never suspect that they
are Islamists because they are strategic in
their operations.
The most dangerous human beings on
earthtoday are Islamists. Even Muslim
nations like Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Tunisia,
Egypt, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait,
Malaysia, Indonesia etc. are afraid of
Islamists and some of them have legislation
against Islamism. The Muslim Brotherhood
was banned in Egypt for this reason. Some
people think only known terrorist
organisations such as ISIS/ISIL, Boko Haram,
Al Shabab, Al Qaeda etc. are dangerous. The
insidious brand of Islamism is actually more
lethal.
Let no one be deceived by the satanic
conspiracy of the All Progressives Congress
(APC) orchestrated by Asuwaju Bola Ahmed
Tinubu that Gen. Muhammadu Buhari is a
"progressive" and will bring about "change"
as Nigeria's President. Gen. Buhari is an
Islamist jihadist who operates TAQQIYYA;
the Islamic Doctrine of "Holy" Deception. Till
date he has not recanted the statement he
made in January, 2002, at the closing
ceremony of a Koranic Recitation
Competition held in Gusau, Zamfara State,
where he applauded the Sharia which then
Gov. Sani Yerima introduced and he called
on all Muslims in Nigeria to vote only for a
Muslim President in the 2003 Election who
would promote the interest of Islam. Please
google it. It was in 2001 in Kaduna that Gen.
Buhari said he would continue to promote
the TOTAL implementation of Sharia in the
entire country of Nigeria. Also google it.
Christians are often naive politically. In the
north, Muslim clerics have been promoting
Gen. Buhari as the Candidate of Islam. But in
the south, APC has successfully recruited
southern Christian leaders and Pastors to
sell the lie that "Buhari is not a
fundamentalist" despite the obvious
evidence that he is. They also push the lie
that Pastor Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is a "man of
integrity" and would be the defacto
President since Gen. Muhammadu Buhari
always cedes actual administration of
whatever is placed under his responsibility
to his immediate subordinate.
Pastor Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is no doubt a
very intelligent academic but he is Tinubu's
lackey who helps him in all the legal
schemes to cover up his looting of Lagos.
Prof. Osinbajo makes hundreds of millions
of Naira annually just by handling Tinubu's
legal matters. He sold out to mammon long
ago! He represents only himself.
For the first time, I am now going to
disclose publicly my own experience with
Prof. Yemi Osinbajo which convinced me
that he is not the man he has been hyped to
be.
In April-July, 2011, I was part of those
whom God chose to use to resist the blatant
attempt by Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to
impose Malaysia-style Islamic Banking on
Nigeria contrary to the Constitution and the
provisions of the Banks and Other Financial
Institutions Act. Under the auspices of
Church For Change (a ministers network led
by Pastor Wale Adefarasin, Pastor Tony Rapu
and Pastor Ituah Ighodalo) and Apostles in
the Market Place (a network of Christian
profesionals and businessmen led by Pastor
John Enelamah), we organised a Seminar in
June, 2011, in Lagos on Non-Interest
Banking. Dr. Kingsley Moghalu who was then
the Deputy Governor of the CBN in charge of
Financial System Stability was in attendance
representing Emir Sanusi who was then the
CBN Governor. I was one of the speakers at
the event. Other speakers were Brett
Johnson of the Institute, U. S. A., and Prof.
Bankole Sodipo. Dr. Moghalu spoke too.
My first surprise was that Pastor Prof. Yemi
Osinbajo was ab[/s]
Crap.

Instead of spending so much energy, time and financial resources fighting the creative idea and project of some other group, why not look inwards on how you can benefit your own christian folks!

Nobody is stopping all the rich pentecostal churches, Anglican, Catholic and the rest of them from coming together and floating a Christian bank, with the sole aim of offering interest free loans to hard working business oriented christians.

Osinbajo is a thorough professional, and he is representing the Nigerian masses.

I'm a christian, but I detest this crooked approach PDP is using to get emotional support.

The irony of all these islamising story is that it is even under GEJ, a christian that Nigeria is gradually getting islamised! This is due to his inept handling of the country's security.

Thousands of christians have fled the North and are still fleeing on a daily basis. Whole christian communities in the north has been slaughtered and ransacked without him taking any decisive action. And now that election is around the corner, he is releasing his paid agents to be using islamising to scare christians against voting for the opposition. He has failed woefully on that.

My pastor has been consistently telling us in my church that change is needed in the central govt of Nigeria, and majority of the congregation will vote for change based on his leaning.

You'll notice that I included this as an probable excuse too.

It just doesn't sound plausible that the 17 aspirants with Bachelors degree and above will just fill in "B. Sc., B. A., M. Sc., Ph. D." without putting disciplines (Mechanical Engineering, Geology, etc.), unless they are ashamed of their disciplines. Since there is a space in the form for disciplines, which only Jonathan and Sambo proudly filled, how come the other 17 aspirants did not fill it? Since a copy of their certificate (which states their disciplines) is with INEC, how come the 17 'educated' non-incumbent aspirants did not fill in their disciplines into the form?

I still can't believe they did not fill in their disciplines.
You are not getting my point. If you are filling a form and you are asked your highest qualification. You can either write only the qualification OR you add the discipline with the qualification.

e.g
Highest qualification...................MSc
Highest qualification...................MSc Social Studies

Both answers are correct. Although, writing just MSc is more appropriate.

On most forms, they usually still request for Qualifications received with dates
If that is the case, here, definitely everyone will provide more detailed information like the discipline, the qualification awarded and the date it was given.

You said there is a place in the form for discipline. You are wrong. Look at the form again pls. There is no place for discipline, it only asked for qualification. And you can provide the answer either ways as I explained above.
PoliticsRe: Why Did INEC Include Jonathan's Discipline In The Presidential Aspirants' List? by agabusta: 12:41pm On Jan 15, 2015
Maybe that is the way the candidates filled it on their forms. I seriously doubt it if it is INEC that will write it out for them. There must have been a column for them to indicate their highest qualification. May INEC just did a verbatim copy of what they wrote there themselves.

I was getting irritated by the writer's bias, but when I got to the point below:
I couldn't stomach the irritation anymore.

Firstly, the writer made it sound as though it is INEC's fault some people have decided not to go out and collect their PVCs!! Of course not all eligible voters have theirs ready (which is a lapse that cuts across all the geopolitical zones), but the writer tried to make it look as though people from "Jonathan's strongholds" are the worst hit. Does he have a proof of that??

INEC published a data detailing the percentage PVC collection as against what has been made available across the country and one saw that Lagos, which constitutes one of the major advantages of the opposition, was lagging behind with barely over 50% of cards available collected so far, while states like Akwa-Ibom has very large percentage (84% there about). I bet the writer is ignorant of this!!! Does INEC have to coerce voters to go out and collect their PVCs?? The answer is, NO!

And back to the highly disgraceful quote above; the writer stated the incidences of violence the opposition has suffered as though it were some minor thing that could easily be waved aside, yet when he mentioned those suffered by PDP, he sounded like heaven was about to fall!! Tell me, since he chose to use the words apart from, let me join him in the game of "trivialising": now, "apart from" the burning of Jonathan's bus and the destruction of his campaign posters, what other casualty has PDP suffered?? People (APC members) were shot at at in PH and their secretariat bombed, but the writer imagines these are of lesser severity compared to burning of a bus and destruction of posters from the tone of his voice!!shocked

How bias can a journalist be!!!

This write up is one of such things that fuel the violence the writer wants to make us believe he's preaching against. The guy must be restrained before he causes more harm.

When I got to that quote, I stopped and decided to check out the link. I wasn't surprised when I saw the name of the writer.

Smh.

Barcanista, my ban ends today. Will be back guns blazing!!! Donphilopus I dey hail oo.

Despite that the earlier divisive and sensational story of Vanguard graced Nairaland front page, Nairaland admin, Seun and his Mods does not see the importance of INEC's rebuttal to that story also gracing the front page.

The story in question provided statistics about the collection rate of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) across 28 states, in a 36-states-plus-one (i.e., the Federal Capital Territory) federation; but proceeded to infer a conclusive regional design of higher collection rate in one section of the country than the other. Consequently, the story was deliberately mute on, or simply ignored the following:

(i) That the document your writer apparently sourced his figures from (which the Commission voluntarily put in public domain since early December 2014) clearly indicated that distribution of PVCs continued at local government offices of INEC at the end of the three-day exercise at polling unit level.

(ii) That differences in levels of turn-out by people for their PVCs is not the making of INEC, since the Commission has put in place the same procedure across the country guaranteeing equal access to persons wanting to collect their cards. Rather than concoct conspiracy theories about INEC, a desire for public good should have motivated your writer to encourage persons in areas where collection rate is relatively low to urgently go and pick their PVCs; and

(iii) That 28 states out of 36 states plus the FCT is not a complete picture, contrary to the writer’s pretention that he was presenting a comprehensive national profile. As a matter of fact, in calculating the percentages, your writer not only understated the percentage for South-West, for instance, if you take the average of individual state percentages that he himself indicated, he also conveniently ignored the fact that distribution in Ekiti and Osun states that was done earlier in 2014 was not included.
Really, nothing can surpass these in intellectual dishonesty and vocational mischief! It was expected that your reporter, if his motive were to sincerely inform the public, would have requested from INEC its official figures for the entire country on the subject of the story. The Commission has nothing to hide; so, kindly find attached the authentic data on the distribution of PVCs across the country to date. Note also, kindly, that these figures are far from being final for the 2015 general election, since PVC distribution by INEC continues until close to the elections.

It is also observed that the story alleges all manners of ‘conspiracies’ in the operations of INEC, including an allegation that “District Heads (in the North) were allowed to collect PVCs on behalf of prospective voters.” Sir, nothing can be further from the truth. The deliberate falsehood intended by your reporter was underscored by the fact that the story only cited unnamed (certainly fictitious) sources as well as purported ‘investigation’ by the paper; while no identifiable spokesperson of the Commission was given a say – even if only for record purposes.

Certainly, this does not show the basic ethic of balanced reporting that is expected in responsible journalism.
Comments, as they say, are free but facts are sacred. It amounts to sheer malevolent journalism for one to cite cold statistics in making fabled claims. That is what your reporter has done and, with due respect, it really belittles your reputed newspaper stable and smacks of hatchet job for vested interests.

Sir, we all have a stake in this country and should be keen to contribute to the success of the imminent general election. Your newspaper will account to history if it falsely fans the embers of ethnicity and sectionalism as could create needless tensions in the polity around the elections. Even then, the dictates of professional ethics require some modicum of scrupulousness in the dissemination of information for public consumption!

Wishing you well and God’s guidance.

I also want to transfer mine but I was told I am to go back to the state I registered for the purpose of collecting my PVC then report back with it and now write the letter. And Without the PVC, I can't transfer.

But isn't this madness? So if I registered in sambisa or otueke or katsina, I have to go all the way there to collect my PVC. Instead of wasting my time and endangering my life, why can't I just provide my TVC and they verify it on their system and I'm good to go? I don't know why we make things unnecessarily hard for ourselves in Nigeria.
They purposely tricked you to discourage you. I did my own transfer two weeks ago without going to the state I earlier registered to collect the PVC. I did it with the temporary card.

The guideline on INEC website stated that one should attach the temporary card to the application for transfer and not the PVC.

At the Lagos INEC office, I observed that it was only those that were ready to argue with them and quote that part of the Electoral Act dealing with transfer that they were ready to attend to.

Those that came and were informed that it has closed and left without any argument, and those that were sent to INEC local govt office in the area they want to transfer to were the people the lazy INEC officials used in reducing the nos of people they will attend to.

They gave me so much stress, pushed me from the local govt I want to transfer to and INEC state office several times, but I remained resolute and succeeded in getting the transfer done.

Infact, I sneaked out from work several days before I succeeded in getting the transfer done.

I doubt if they will still be doing it sef. Cos that day I heard them talking to themselves that information coming from INEC head office in Abuja was that the platform they were using to effect the transfers will be shut down soon.

I don't know how true it is, but one of the staff told me they were printing the PVCs in China and the volume of transfers they were doing, which they have to print PVCs for including those of the Continuous Voter's Registration were getting alarming and was giving Abuja INEC serious concerns hence, the need to shut down the transfer process before the due time according to the electoral law.

Those INEC guys sef. I remembered the first day I went there, they tried to discourage me by telling me that the transfer process in the most recent electoral law they are using stipulates 60 days before the commencement of an election for one to do a transfer. I had to argue them out, that the electoral law actually stipulates 30 days and not 60days before they finally succumbed.

Even at that, they still gave me so much stress. Infact they at first refused to give me the transfer form, they later gave me to go make copies and return the original to them.

Pls put some pictures of Agbaje, especially that first one with the unsmilling AK47 rifle brandishing mopol with those of Ambode milling and laughing with the crowd.

It will graphically show a man of the people, and another man being propped up by some authorities.

Defections Hits Ondo PDP, Jonathan May Cancel Campaign

All former Speakers in Ondo State House of Assembly, five Commissioners in Mimiko's administration and eight local government chairmen in Ondo State are right now at a defection rally in Akure where they dumped PDP for APC. Scores of councillors are also part of the defection train.

They are being led by former Chief of Staff to the late Governor Segun Agagu, Mr Femi Agagu.

The greatest shock at the rally is the defection of former Speaker, Victor Olabimtan, a director in President Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation and also a current member of the Federal Civil Service Commission.

In all, 48 PDP leaders in Ondo are leading thousands of their supporters to dump PDP for APC at a ceremony which took place at APC secretariat along Oyemekun Road, Akure.

The defection earthquake may force Jonathan Campaign Organisation to cancel tomorrow's campaign in Akure, the Ondo State capital, as majority of known supporters of the President have defected to APC or have traveled out of town. All mobilization efforts for the rally have crashed, forcing PDP leaders to opt for cancellation of Akure rally tomorrow, according to PDP sources in Ondo State.
This is an interesting read, please provide the source.
PoliticsRe: Fashola To Jonathan: You, Not My Generation Failed by agabusta: 12:30am On Jan 14, 2015
Uppercut reply to GEJ. Instead of him to personalise his failure, he wants to draw other people to his side.

Only God knows when he'll stop this his habit of looking for excuses everytime.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Had His Chance But Failed, Says Jonathan by agabusta:
See me see Nigeria oh. Goodluck Jonathan that performed woefully in 5 yrs is pointing accusing fingers at some other person who spent approx 2 yrs and registered his achievements in the minds of millions.

Majority of the people during Buhari's time are of the opinion assuming his administration spent some more time, they would have kicked off the Nigeria of our dreams.

GEJ stop all this whining, your administration has spent 5 yrs and counting, and u have been unable to clear any rot in the system. Infact you added additional rot.

Buhari's administration spent approx 2 yrs and just that two years have earned him millions of passionate supporters spanning a 30-year period.

Jona pls use your brain, if u lose this coming election, after the next 30years do u in your wildest imagination think u can still have 1/10th of passionate supporters like that of Buhari??

The answer is simple. In Buhari's approx 2 yrs, despite all the things he did well and those he didn't, he was still able to register his performance in the minds of those of his generation who even passed this Buhari's record to the coming generation.

In GEJ'S 5 yrs, he has brought mainly woes upon Nigeria. And that is the major thing he will be remembered for, for years to come, especially if he loses his 2nd term bid.
