Story Story Story......his performance is abysmally woeful. Maybe its spirits and ghosts that participated in the poll. |
Some people are outrightly silly on this thread. What is there to rejoice in the fall of a Nigerian town to fanatics? I cant see any such post on this thread. Please do us a favour, kindly give us the quotes of those rejoicing over the fall of Bama or any other Nigerian town/village to back up your claims. Let us know what was said. |
OP nice one. I saw this on Sunday on my way from Ikeja and I was dumbfounded, although I didn't have the time to stop and take pictures. Imagine how easy it is to gain entrance into the police college/barracks and cause the country embarrasment. Everything about our police force is just pathetic. Not only our police sef, but almost every govt sector. Nothing gets fixed until it totally collapse and there is reason to award contracts. That is the same place that it took the visit of Channels TV and then later President Jonathan before the living conditions of the police college was improved. I'm sure if channels TV or any other noisy media outlet, focus on this it will get fixed ASAP. When are we going to start being proactive in this country instead of reacting to situations ![]() *** I recommend this thread for front page, so that the general populace can see this eye sore and as such cause the Mangt to fix it. It is not after Boko Haram has succeded in penetrating the place to bomb innocent wives and kids that we'll start asking belated questions. |
gbanikiti: University college of ibadan was founded in 1947 and was made a federal university in 1963 then renamed University if ibadan. University of nigeria nsukka is the first federal and pioneer university in Nigeria. She was founded in 1960.So who calls it the first 'Federal University in Nigeria'? University of Ibadan is simply referred to as the first University in Nigeria. period. Federal is not usually added. But wait...... What is even this your obsession with Ibadan? you first created a thread that Ibadan is not the biggest city in Nigeria, here again you are making some cunny assertions. |
gbanikiti: Now u get my point. The cocoa house made it the largest city then, right now so many things are washed away if u ask me.How can this statement come from an educated person? That one tall building is what makes a place a city. Standard of education has indeed fallen in Nigeria. Lagos is an agglomeration of different cities and can properly be referred to as a metropolis and not a city. Only God knows where the OP got the info that Ibadan is the Largest city in Africa. Ibadan has never been described as such. Ibadan has always been described as the largest city in West Africa. Ibadan is massive! Having a mix of both modern and ancient areas. I'm familiar with places having high occupancy as I have spent a good number of years in Lagos, but I'm always enthralled by how big Ibadan is whenever I'm in that city. If i'm not mistaken, Ibadan alone should have at least 8 local governments and a population of about 3 million people. Sometimes when you stand on an hilly area, you'll see endless stretches of brown roof houses. This demonstrates that a great Kingdom once thrived in this area. Despite how archaic and ancient this seems, I'm always awed by the scenery. There are modern areas in Ibadan and ancient areas. The present governor is trying a lot in modernizing the city but facing resistance from some people used to the old way of doing things. Ibadan has the potential of representing Nigeria as one of our great cities with a robust economy if given proper direction as a result of its rich human resource. |
The PDP laptop team at it again. smh. Only God knows what prompted all these numerous online attacks against Okorocha. Abi una don hear say na him be APC Vice Presidential candidate? Maybe that was why Abati and Okupe gave you guys the order to start coordinated internet attacks on him. Anyways, the discerning public can see beyond your lies and innuendos. |
"...In fact, he had wanted to come down to Abeokuta, but as a sign of respect to the Office of the President, I had to go..."
Sincere9gerian: Honestly, this OBJ is a very petty old man. What is bad in what he said now? He purposely stated that he went there on the invitation of the president, because of people like you that will come and be making spurious statements about the visit. Before one says Jack now, you and your team will flood the internet with stories of Obasanjo going to Aso Rock to beg Jonathan and pledge support for him. Obasanjo na smart guy now. |
Thats a nice speech by Peter Obi. |

Both seems sinful to me. And also very dirty and irritating. Please I want to ask, do women enjoy behind based sex? I have been wondering where that act came from, and I've not had the chance to actually ask anybody this question. |
Well, from my own point of view as a Health and Safety practitioner... I will say the opposite of RED is BLUE. In occupational health and safety, RED as a colour represents 'prohibition' while blue denotes 'Mandatory action'. In lay terms, RED means don't do it! While BLUE means, u must do it. And bearing in mind tht occupational safety is given a prominent role in d construction industry. |
Greatken007: YES IT DOES PAY....By His grace this forth coming one wil be my first...the BILL was passed on May 29 2014(He gave his assent, and d bill was passed into law.even on this forum here someone once sent the copy)Thanks. But what exactly is the name of this bill/ACT? I'm very interested. I did a search on National Assembly site for all the bills passed, but I didn't see anything like tht. Enlighten us pls. |
This is a good write-up. It calls for sombre reflection from the FGN, the PDP, the APC and the generality of Nigerian people. But unfortunately, in this part of the world, we seem to lack the ability to think deep. We prefer to be carried headlong into the abyss because of ego and empty pride. In the face of superior argument, instead of us to backdown, we'll still continue in an unproductive path just because of ego or some unreasonable vendetta that is not in the interest of the country. May God open our eyes to see, our ears to hear, an emotion tht can be appropriately controlled and the courage to act right. |
opeyemi2013: "while over 2 million african kids need just 15cents to buy malaria vaccines, africa's bishop oyedepo hoards 4 private jets ; $30m each." "warren buffett a humanitarian worth $50bn still flies commercial airlines while africa's bishop oyedepo hoards 4 private jets." "Hard-working citizens who work 9-5hrs have nothing to show for it, while pastors like oyedepo sell biblical fables once a week and purchase $20m jets."Malaria does not have vaccine. |
chino24: Great heritage of odua nation. This nation will be the new world power..Amen! ...within the Nigerian context, d signs are even already showing, given the high influx of other ethnicities into Yorubaland. |
Greatken007: ISPON IS NOW THE ONLY SAFETY BODY RECOGNIZED BY LAW IN NIGERIA, NEBOSH IS NW UNDER ISPON IN NIGERIA CONTEXT...THE BILL WAS PASSED FEW WEEKS AGOPlease tell me more. Which bill was passed? Where can I get a copy of this bill? |
Thank you for this enlightenment. You are very right. Indeed, a lot of people have been recruited to spread lies and malign some specific people's image. |
Why is it that it is the Igbos that is always screaming that they are hated?? From what I have seen on social media lately, the bitterness and bile expressed through words, the Igbos seems to hate the Yorubas more! But I have never seen the yorubas screaming up and down that they are hated. |
Ethno-Bigotry carries it. I used to think corruption is our major problem untill Jonathan came around. |
By Emman Ovuakporie ABUJA—THE House of Representatives, yesterday, passed through second reading, a bill that would ensure that private companies, whose total assets exceed N80 billion, convert to public liability companies, PLCs. If finally passed, such companies would also be expected to be listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE. The motion promoted by Rep Chris Emeka Azubogu, is entitled: ‘A bill for an act to provide for private companies whose shareholders’ funds exceed N40 billion or their annual turnover exceeds N80 billion or their total assets exceed N80 billion to convert to public liability companies and get their shares listed in the stock exchange, thereby promoting growth for both the companies and the Nigerian Capital Market and for other related matters. He said: “If proper fundings are given to business owners or small companies in the country, it would help to build up strong business institutions that will reduce the rate of unemployment,” he said. He added that the bill seeks to regulate private companies. In his contribution, Rep Fort Dike,PDP, Anambra, who spoke against the motion advised the sponsor to dump it. “The bill did not take so many things into consideration. It is anti business to force individuals to go into the stock exchange. This bill should not be allowed to scale through because it will be in conflict with the general ideas of investment in the country. This bill will make the parliament look like it lacks business knowledge,” he said. Rep Ossai Nicholas Ossai,PDP, Delta who rose to support the bill, noted that local businesses would begin to grow, if such companies are duly listed on NSE. “It will empower Nigerians. It will enable Nigerians participate in the country’s economy. It is in line with international best practices. The bill should be passed so as to improve enterprise in the country,” he added. Also speaking in support of the bill, Rep . Leo Ogor, PDP, Delta observed that it is the core responsibility of the lawmakers to regulate private companies. “It is a bill that should be given the necessary support for the interest of the growth of the country’s economy,” Ogor submitted. The Bill was thereafter passed into second reading by the Deputy Speaker Rep .Emeka Ihedioha and was committed to the Committee on Capital Markets and Institutions for further inputs. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/07/bill-assets-plcs-passes-second-reading-house-reps/ |
