PoliticsRe: Appeal Court Can't Stay A Criminal Case - Appeal Court To Onnoghen by agabusta: 4:10pm On Jan 30, 2019
Speedyconnect15:
Rubbish!

Was Saraki's case at CCT a civil case?

Why was it stayed?

The supreme court ruled in the case of SARAKI V FRN that stay could be granted when CCt is involved because the CCT is a court of quasi criminal jurisdiction.

So they granted saraki stay. But refused Olisah metuh.

Note

Metus's case was at federal high court.
Not cct.
But in a unanimous decision in a ruling delivered Wednesday, the 3-man panel of the Court of Appeal, led by Justice Abdul Aboki, held that the prayers of Onnoghen that his trial be put on hold runs contrary to the provisions of section 306 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015.

Justice Aboki, who read the lead ruling cited the case of Bukola Saraki, in which Justice Onnoghen himself at the Supreme Court declined to stay Saraki’s trial on the same grounds that section 306 of the new law did not permit a stay of criminal trials.

According to him, there were no special circumstances in which Onnoghen’s prayer would be granted in the appeal argued by Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN.

The truth is that all Nigerian Judges are corrupt.
The head of every organization in Nigeria is corrupt in one way or the other.
The reason people like me are worried here is that you don't suspend someone and replace him with your stooge few days to election.
But he's the next in line. Are you suggesting the president should have bypassed the next most senior judge and the select someone else.

Won't that look more suspicious?? More so since the convention for appointments in our Judicial system is on the basis of seniority.

Damage control after they discovered that they have inadvertently given themselves away by their wailings for the compromised CJN.

The toxic wailing by the PDP over the CJN is highly suspicious! Atiku is now trying to step things down and saying

Ask Buhari that question. If there is no difference, he should have approved the agreed sum which is N30,000 for all not for some workers.
Some states said they cannot pay the 30,000. Buhari should put a gun on their head right? If he does that and they don't pay, you lots will come back to shout dictator.

The one within his own power, that of Federal workers, he approved the 30,000 for them. What else should he do??

Fayose ran into a stationary vehicle with displayed caution sign and a standby traffic officer.

Who should be responsible for the repairs?

It is even because Nigeria is a lawless country, if not, Fayose should have been taken to court for careless driving and endangering the lives of other road users.

-I see atiku getting like 30% of n/west cos of Tambuwal and kwankwasiyya factor else it will have been in the range of 80/20.
-I see buhari getting 60% of n/east .cos pdp isn't strong in bauchi/borno/yobe/adamawa/.40% for atiku in the sense that Gombe and Taraba are pdp state.
-N/central 50/50 or slightly in favour of pmb.
-Southwest... likely 60/40% .would have made it 70/30% but the fact that yoruba play mature politics, I will leave at 60/40% in favour of buhari.from another dimension, if they had wanted to support their own osinbanjo (ie playing ethnic politics), the election would have obviously been a done deal for APC/Buhari.
-S/east may 90/10% ..obviously majority of them hate buhari .
-S/south may be 80/20 in favour of pdp
??Final result....gonna be a tight race but buhari is likely going to win with a small margin or they will likely go for a rerun.
There cannot be a rerun. Rerun is only possible if either candidates does not have 25% of the votes in approx 25 states.

Both candidates will meet this criteria.

PoliticsRe: Any Governor Not Supporting Atiku Campaigning Against Himself – PDP by agabusta: 2:41pm On Jan 08, 2019
StOla:
My happiness with Atiku's candidacy is that by the time he is done contesting in futility, he would have inadvertently returned most of the stolen public funds as a former Customs boss and former Vice-President, back to the Nigerian masses whose future was robbed.

In fact, most of the Atiku support groups are still waiting patiently and passionately to eat Atiku's campaign money with the same wanton disregard and reckless abandon with which Atiku ate public funds.

Many have sworn that by the time the election is over, Atiku would only be left with the rightful wealth due to a retired civil servant and former Vice-President who eagerly awaits the alert of his monthly pension.

Even lawyers are also determined that any other hidden funds of his, will be meticulously obtained by their learned selves, by ensuring he aimlessly spends it on election tribunals that would only be a wild Goose chase.

I salute them all as patriotic Nigerians, and I urge them to Atikulately restore Atiku to his deserved wealth as a retired civil servant and retired politician.

As Omoyele Sowore and the AAC will say, Take It Back!

FG Excited as Firm Invests $600m in Iron Ore Mining, Steel Production

The federal government at the weekend expressed excitement over a $600 million (N183 billion) investment in an integrated iron ore mining processing and steel production in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State by African Natural Resources and Mines Limited.

The Minister of Finance, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, conveyed government’s excitement during a meeting with officials of the company led by Mr. Raj Gupta.

A statement by the minister’s Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Mr. Paul Ella Abechi, said the investment would boost the solid minerals sector and the entire economy, which will lead to increased revenue generation and job creation under the diversification policy of the federal government.

Ahmed said: “In a bid to diversify away from oil and increase government revenues, I met this evening with African Natural Resources and Mines Limited led by Mr. Raj Gupta who are investing $600million in an integrated iron ore mining, processing and steel production project in Kagarko Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

“This is about the first major investment in the mining sector in more than two decades. The project will have a capacity of 5.4 metric tonnes per annum and will create 3,500 direct jobs and thousands of indirect jobs.”

According to her, the steel plant will generate 36 megawatts (mw) of electricity to the national grid to boost the already generated megawatts of power for other economic activities.

According to her, “About 36 megawatts of electricity is to be generated from the waste heat which will increase power supply to the local council to help develop other industries and urbanise the local area. The surplus will also be added to the national grid.”

The minister added that the company’s steel would carry out beneficiation, pelletizing and convert iron into direct used iron for steel manufacturing to galvanise the industrial space into a hub of production of finished goods for local consumption and export.

“The integrated steel manufacturing project has its focal point in mining iron ore, beneficiating, pelletizing and transforming into Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) which is the primary raw material in steel manufacturing,” Ahmed said.

She expressed optimism that the project would massively impact on the local people and the county at large based on the potential it has to transform the socio-economic life of Nigerians.

And when has payment for legal services become a crime? They tried this with Mike Ozekhome and Fayose. They went to court and disgrased EFCC
The EFCC is empowered to question and investigates suspicious financial transactions.

Before one knows it, they will soon be using the excuse of legal fees to be moving funds out of state coffers.

When legal fees for political office holders starts going above 1billion naira, sensible people should raise eye brows.

But wait oh, is it the state govt that is supposed to pay for Udom's personal legal battles?

I actually believe Atiku has been granted a US Visa and hopes to use it as a masterstroke just before the elections.

I do believe despite the visa issuance, he's wary of law enforcement agencies apprehending him and he needs all the assurance he can get to set foot on the land of the free.

Regardless, I don't think making it to the states and back would tilt the election in his favour.

While he makes the trip, APC would be commissioning projects left right and centre around the axis of the country.

While it seems like a reasonable economic policy. Nigerians are absolutely not ready for it.
He will later give the excuse that the Buhari regime has already damaged things.
