Nice one. |
lexy2014:What do you mean by ordinary inspectors? you seem not to have seen policemen in action. Inspectors lead a lot of patrol teams. Stop portraying inspector like a very low ranking officer. |
ahckmedkosy:Well the police have come to say so. The culprits, who have not been dismissed from the force have not argued in the contrary. If you have a contrary evidence, bring it forth instead of dwelling on speculations. |
Christistruth00:Yes, they are all christian names for those who view all things through the prism of bigotry. Inspector Godwin Musa Inspector Sada Abubakar Inspector Yabo Paul ASP David Dominic |
Samakus:I don't think an ASP falls under the categories of those the IGP has the power to authorize dismissal. The dismissal of the ASP would have to be recommended to the Police Service Commission for approval. |
ahckmedkosy:Are you sure you are not a robot? Berem is a guy? What is correct in the statement she made. You are the one blinded by sentiments. Sanctions have been meted out on the erring officers but you are still baying for blood. What else do you lots want?? |
Ichokwu: why are you sounding so pained?? |
Is that not too harsh?? I thought a query/suspension would have been in order. Except the search has some other objectives that was not revealed to the public. Or maybe they even went there to steal. |
Beremx:You are the joke. The police high command has come out to say the search was unauthorized, and they have followed it up with sanctions on the culprits. What else do you want? They should disband the entire police force because of this? Or has the dismissed officers come out to show the world the person that authorized the search? Until you have any contrary evidence, your comment is a joke. **** But I must say the punishment seems too harsh. A query/suspension would have been in order. Except maybe classified investigations revealed that the search was carried out to steal some imaginary cash. |
I am so happy reading this news. These guys have been a menace to the society, especially in Lagos. And funny enough, this is the first time I'm reading about a successfully arrest of the daredevils. The police needs to take more proactive steps in arresting other "one chance" robbers. They have caused untold hardship to hardworking Lagosians going very early to their work places and closing late. God bless that good samaritan that rescued the victim and still went in pursuit of the robbers. Mynd44, OAM4J police have succeeded in arresting some 'one chance' robbers. |
One chance robber jumps into lagoon to evade arrest A suspected one-chance gang member identified as Junior on Monday jumped into the lagoon on Third mainland Bridge. Junior, according to other members of his gang, jumped into the lagoon around 1pm with their loot to evade arrest. It was gathered that the group comprising Junior, Amos Williams, 21, Paul Olise, 37 and John Akinyemi had robbed four passengers they boarded around Ketu/Alepere enroute Oshodi. Rather than drop the passengers at Oshodi, the Vanagon Bus with registration number AKD562XP, sped towards Iyana Oworo and continued on the long bridge where the robbers pushed out each victim after dispossessing them. It was gathered that a victim, Semiu Oluwaseun they first pushed off the bus was rescued by a motorist who saw him fall. After narrating his ordeal, the motorist, it was gathered, gave the bus a hot pursuit but slowed after sighting operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on the long bridge. “The victim reported what happened to the RRS men and they chased the bus, double-crossed it. But before they got to the bus, it seems the suspects noticed they were being followed. Read Also:Police nab one chance robbers in Edo “Junior jumped off the vehicle. He was hit twice by oncoming vehicles and he jumped into the lagoon straight away. The other three were arrested,” said a source. Semiu, it was gathered, told the police the robbers took his N500, 000 and mobile phones. Corroborating the account, the gang leader, Akinyemi said: “We were four. I was in charge of calling the team to work. It was our first trip for the day. We took four passengers in Estate Bus Stop in Alapere. “They were going to Oshodi. We dispossessed them and dropped them off before Iyana-Oworo one after the other. We took their phones and money. “We have been doing this for more than three months. We sell the mobile phones and jewelry, and we share the money. Junior was carrying all the money and items we obtained that day. I do not know if he was confused because of the vehicles that knocked him as he was running. He jumped into the water.” Another victim, Jamiu Ojuroye, who was robbed on Sunday, identified John Akinyemi as the driver of the bus he was robbed in, adding that they collected his N150,000. Ojuroye added that after struggling with the robbers, they poured a peppery substance on his face, took his money before throwing him off around 8pm, said the police. Parading the suspects Wednesday, Police Commissioner Imohimi Edgal said: “A police patrol team stationed on the Third Mainland Bridge attached to RRS of the command on Pin-Down duty, received information that robbers were robbing passengers along the Third Mainland Bridge. “Based on the information, the team led by Inspector Emmanuel Isagua swung into action and arrested the suspects. The suspects have since been identified by one of their victims. The case will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.” http://thenationonlineng.net/one-chance-robber-jumps-into-lagoon-to-evade-arrest/

Realname:Being a graduate seems such a feat in your lineage. A big congratulations to you Mr graduate! From the nonsense you have been writing, you definitley need more exposure and personal improvement to showcase your education. |
Realname:What's all these balderdash you are writing? Meaningless jargon to sound intelligent. So much emotion about paper qualification, yet sounding utterly empty and devoid of intellect. No wonder lots of you are roaming the streets unemployed. |
yinnyme:Don't mind them, everybody wants an opportunity for their name to come up in the news. The DG will be seriously embarrassed at reading these their comments aimed at helping him, but ironically more damaging. |
Realname:You cannot be spreading your ignorance on a public forum and equally telling people to shut up and not criticise your idiotic post. Further telling someone to 'get away' on an online forum that you have no iota of influence/authority shows how shallow your reasoning is. |
Realname:What is incorrect in what he said? So many educated illiterates around. |
Sharpshooota:You are talking like an illiterate. The presidency is an institution. Osinbajo was only able to appoint him because he exercised the powers of the president. The president can remove him without any qualms. He can even be verbally removed. The man is due for retirement before the end of the year, so nature will take it's course. |
fiizznation:To even add to what you said, the man is due for retirement before the end of the year. |
SalamRushdie: minority will have their say, majority will have their way. |
Ndonu101:Saraki with his narrow greedy eyes is going to continue staring at that seat from afar.
|
RZArecta2:Did you read the report? There is no mention of 50 billion in the report. It was 50 million that was mentioned. People don't read in Nigeria. It is sad. They just read headline and start commenting. |
OkaNaUbe:Is the repair of the road ongoing at any point? |
OkaNaUbe:Is the entire stretch of the road like this? |
Colourich:The oil revenue is not for the FG alone now? The FG takes only about half, the states and LG has to take their own share as well. |
Hmmmm it's getting clearer. |
UncleJudax:Well, you are excused if you are among those who has given up on the country. The places people are running to were not developed by Angels but by humans like us. |
The unnamed Nigerian woman was denied asylum even though she claimed she fled Nigeria to escape the practice of female genital mutilation.Chai, see story. You filed a refugee status to escape genital mutilation ![]() Instead of you to confess that it is actually economic mutilation that you are running away from. We need to up our game and develop our country to avoid all this embarrassment on our people. |
Everything is Rocket science to us here. I don tire. |
lascopes:The permit granted for building projects are usually specific about the use of the building. A lot of property owners usually deviate from the use specified in the plan. Most times, it is overlooked until some other things crop up. This is political but the man also contravened the law. He should have gone for another permit when he wanted to convert the property to a radio station. If you want to have a platform for attacking the govt, you must ensure you have tied all your loose ends. Anyways, this is not a good one from Oyo state govt. Our governors are power drunk individuals who cannot handle criticisms. I just laugh when people say they should create state police. The controversy and problems that governors will cause using state police is unimaginable. |
Interface with groups- 125million naira. Outreach activities - 587million naira. |
This INEC chair wan chop money oh. kai |
Tolexander:You are right, but you don't have to win always. Loyalty is a gift not possessed by everyone. Loyalty demands that in some scenarios, personal interest is put aside. I understand that aggressive achievers are usually not loyal, but some sensitive positions require highly loyal people. Now I don't mean to equate loyalty with ass-licking. |
