Well, Chief, you may think the circumstances has changed, but even till now, Saraki's actions shows the trappings of a man with zero loyalty if his personal interest is not guaranteed. He did it with his Dad, his Sister, GEJ and now PMB. |
I didn’t write new letter to Saraki, says Edwin Clark Theophilus Onojeghen, Warri An elder statesman and convener of the Pan-Niger Delta Forum, Chief Edwin Clark, has denied writing an open letter to the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, saying that the letter which is trending on the social media is the handiwork of mischief makers. Clark, who clarified that though he wrote a letter five years ago to the Senate President, the said letter written in 2013, and circulating on the social media, was aimed at misinforming and misleading the public. In a statement he personally signed on Wednesday, the Ijaw national leader observed that the issue which prompted the letter had been adequately addressed. He stated that he was proud of Saraki for protecting the legacies of his late father, Dr Olusola Saraki. Clark said, “The said letter which I wrote over five years ago was written out of despair and anger, at the time, to reach Dr Bukola Saraki, who was then the Governor of Kwara State, in order to mediate in a misunderstanding between my very close friend, his father, late Dr Olusola Saraki, Waziri Ilorin, his daughter Senator Gbemi Saraki on one side, and his son, Dr Bukola Saraki. “The circumstances that led to my writing the letter had been settled long ago. Today, Bukola Saraki is my son with whom I enjoy a good relationship. It is, therefore, surprising that this letter written over five years ago was altered in the said social media publication to suit the whims of the authors. “Let me reinstate that the late Dr Olusola Saraki, father of the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, was my very good friend and colleague in the Senate of the Second Republic where he was the Senate Leader. Thereafter, both of us were leaders of our respective geopolitical zones. While he was the leader of the Northern Union, I was the Leader of the South-South Peoples Assembly. “Today, I have a duty to stand by my son, Dr Bukola Saraki, and also defend him, from any act of persecution, aimed at destroying his illustrious political career and his father’s rich legacy.” Copyright PUNCH. punchng.com © 1971-2018 The Punch newspaper https://punchng.com/i-didnt-write-new-letter-to-saraki-says-edwin-clark/? That's a good one. It's a good compensation. Fayose almost rubbished the woman even though she's a vibrant member of the PDP. |
Nice one from the Acting President. But they should extend that to all the security agencies. They all lack civility. |
Hmmmmmm. Does that mean it was Daura that was blocking them before? |
AutoReportNG:What of engine and transmission mounts?? Can't they also be responsible for shaking and vibration? |
All these govt recruitment that they are announcing here and there just because elections are around the corner. |
nzeobi:Your comment portray you as part of the propaganda team. |
I am not under pressure to drop my deputy – Adamawa Governor Governor Muhammadu Bindow of Adamawa State has denied a report making the round that he was under pressure to drop the state deputy governor, Martins Babale, for a Muslim candidate. Mr Bindow in a press statement issued by the Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Ahmad Sajoh, described the report as “a blatant lie”. The statement blamed desperate politicians who had lost relevance in the state of using ethnic and religious sentiments to discredit his administration ahead of 2019 general elections. “We are aware that some politicians in Adamawa state who have totally lost political value and relevance have resorted to using ethnicity and religion as political currencies in the run-up to the 2019 elections. “What is even worse is that these group of persons are willing to plunge this state into unending crisis if they are unable to achieve their political goals. “In their desperation, they are prepared to go any length to score cheap political points including the recent hijacking of a peaceful procession organized by a credible religious body and now the hiring of a political tout masquerading as a journalist.” While reiterating the commitment of the government not to be distracted by blackmail, the statement urged the media not to allow political jobbers use their platforms to settle personal scores. “No amount of blackmail, intimidation or unholy use of ethnic chauvinism and religious bigotry, political jingoism or agbero-journalism will derail us. “Let those who believe they have what to tell the electorate in 2019 step forward and face us in election using issues and achievements as factors that determine our relative electoral fortunes,” the statement added. APC senators were not even at the National Assembly! Yet the narrative everywhere is that they were the only ones allowed into the complex, while the PDP senators were locked out. Some high level propaganda is happening here and people are not seeing it because of emotions. |
Good! |
sarrki:I am beginning to believe, as their only campaign talk now is to use herdsmen to scare people. From Ekiti to Osun, PDP's only talk is herdsmen will come and kill you if you vote for the APC. Which in actual sense is contradictory if the APC is actually responsible for the herdsmen issue. The way all PDP online goons have been screaming and using herdsmen to scare voters is highly suspicious. |
MrPolitics:All they need is to ensure they get more than 25% and to reduce the capability and capacity of the opposition to rig in this their stronghold. |
rusher14:I tell you. The guy get action and mouth. Too much energy. In fact, he has been unleashed. ![]()
|
Nogodye:Oshiomole from 2023 till 2031! ![]() |
Osiomole for President! |
Minjim:Very logical. I just don't understand why we seem aversed to transparency in this part of the world. Why can't we just do things in a transparent way and ensure everyone is satisfied with the action to a large extent. |
These are just 75 people from the one hundred and seventy thousand plus people (170,000 +) that voted for Fayose's/ PDP candidate. It is allowed.
|
BabaO2:And to even think some APC stalwarts considered dropping Buhari for him then. |
emmy994: Nosaghae:...including voided votes. Some people are so dull sha, and they are arrogantly advertising their ignorance to the whole world. |
Concluding her ruling, Justice Ogunwumiju noted that the court had at an earlier adjourned date observed that it found it strange that Innoson, a judgment creditor will be employing all manner of tactics to delay the hearing of the substantive appeal entered in this court as far back as 2013. The lady of Justice don dey look Innosson with suspicious eye oh.

Innoson heads to Supreme Court as Appeal Court rules GTB appeal can be heard Read more at: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/07/innoson-heads-to-supreme-court-as-appeal-court-rules-gtb-appeal-can-be-heard/ |
A’Court dismisses Innoson’s preliminary objections against GTB By Dennis Agbo ENUGU-The Court of Appeal sitting in Enugu, on Friday, dismissed the preliminary objections brought before it by the Chairman of Innoson Motors, Chief Innocent Chukwuma and his company, Innoson Motors Ltd Innoson arguing through his counsel, Prof. McCarthy Mbadugha had at the last hearing of the matter on June 14, 2018 raised objections to a motion brought before the court by GTBank seeking to amend its notice of appeal before the court. Delivering ruling yesterday, Justice Ogunwumiju held that, the court would be in serious error if it decides to wait and hear Innoson Motors’ preliminary objection. “There is no doubt that the application for amendment of the notice of appeal will, if successful, give the appeal a chance of being considered and disposed-off on the merit rather than on technicalities. It is implicit in the constitutional rights of fair hearing that parties in a case be accorded every reasonable opportunity of being heard, and that extends to the right to amend their processes and place before the court all the issues they may wish to canvass to enable the court reach a fair and just conclusion,” she ruled. Ogunwumiju also ruled that, “The fact that the respondent counsel raised objections to some of the grounds of appeal is not a bar that can deprive the appellant of the right to amend its notice of appeal. The respondent has not argued that the notice of appeal that the appellant is seeking to amend is fundamentally defective. He has failed to identify any substantial or legally acceptable reason to support the objection. “There is no limitation of time to amend a notice of appeal, the objection by Innoson is not only frivolous but is vexatious and hereby dismissed.” Concluding her ruling, Justice Ogunwumiju noted that the court had at an earlier adjourned date observed that it found it strange that Innoson, a judgment creditor will be employing all manner of tactics to delay the hearing of the substantive appeal entered in this court as far back as 2013. “I see no reason to refuse the appellant’s (GTBank) request to amend its notice of appeal. “Everyone in this judicial drama knows that the substantive appeal must be decided in this court and no matter how much time is wasted, the Supreme Court can only hear the substantive matter after it has been decided in this court”. “Without any disrespect to whatever legal gymnastics being displayed by the 1st to 4th respondents’ (Innoson) Counsel, these are the types of practices that give the administration of Justice a bad name considering that this case involves money and has been hanging in this court since 2013. “Considering all the reasons and circumstances set out above, I hold that it is in the interest of Justice that the appellants application be granted in terms of the following orders: Leave is granted to the Appellant (GTBank) to raise new issues in this appeal, Leave is granted to the Appellant (GTBank) to amend its notice of appeal in terms of the particulars and specifics highlighted in its supporting Affidavit The amended notice of appeal which has already been filed and served is properly filed and served Leave is granted the Appellant (GTBank) to amend its brief of argument to reflect the reliefs granted.” Read more at: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/07/acourt-dismisses-innosons-preliminary-objections-against-gtb/ |
UncleJJ:Thanks to the political machinations of Tinubu and co. |
Ategberoson:Fayose and co. equally blackmailed Fayemi with the herdsmen issue. As demonstrated by the 2015 and the 2018 Ekiti elections, campaign based on hate and fear mongering does not work. It can backfire. I hope the PDP will learn their lesson. |
masterchi:Agreed that being capital city assisted Lagos to some extent. But kindly also bear in mind, that Lagos became the capital city basically because it was the most developed, cosmopolitan and enlightened part of Nigeria as at that time. It was already ahead of all the other places in Nigeria as per development and it will continue so. Despite moving the capital out of Lagos for about 30 years now, it's commerce continues to thrive and it's miles ahead of every corner of the country. Lagos commerce has always been ahead of that of other places in Nigeria since the 19th century. It is not only about the bridges built by the FG or the National theatre and National stadium. The oil producing states have a good ground to improve their economy based on the huge chunk they receive from Federal allocations even higher than Lagos with more population burden, but they have not been able to elect visionary leaders only kleptos. |
fairfora:Premium Times has more credibility than Naij.com. What's with you and Naij that you have screaming their name since. I will take those results on Naij with a pinch of salt due to your desperation. |
Good development. Fowler till 2023. |
oshe11:You are not serious at all. Folks like you are a grave danger to democracy. In a democratic contest between two highly popular political parties with almost equal chances of winning, you are already insinuating that the victory of one of the parties is tantamount to rigging. Do you think civil servants in Ekiti are happy with the autocratic and dictatorial Fayose? Civil servants are being owed months, pensioners months and gratuity equally not paid for years, yet, he is building a bridge costing billions that is not needed for now. The major supporters of Fayose are okada riders, NURTW and some market women. These category, though very loud-mouthed and rough, majority of them don't have PVCs. These category loves Fayose because he allows all forms of hooliganism and disorderliness that the well educated Fayemi do not allow. Majority of the educated folks in Ekiti are for Fayemi including all the rural areas that Fayose abandoned only to be doing showmanship at the capital. I strongly believe the votes from the neglected rural areas is what is going to make PDP lose this election. |
