Eriokanmi: It's not the truth. How many bdcs have time to visit abokifx before fixing rates, do the majority of them even understand what it means? FYI, I visit abokifx.com just to update myself too. By the time I visit the bdcs in Ikeja, the rates aren't always the same. Always a diff of up to 3 usd higher than abokifx rates. Yet, go to the CBN and check their rates. They'd tell you that autonomous rates are 505naira to 1 usd for instance whereas, bdcs are fixing their rate at between 510naira and 515 naira. Instead of bscs going to abokifx, it's the other way round. Abokifx gets their rates by sampling opinions from bdcs around. The CBN is just jittery because they know the rates they post on their website aren't realistic. They're just deceiving themselves.
I expect them to go after terror sponsors instead if chasing shadows. They know them. What is the CBN governor afraid of ? Great points. This CBN governor is just a mumu. He is sounded as if he just discovered the individual that is responsible for 90% of Nigeria's economic problems. Meanwhile the real forex fraudsters are there with him in Abuja. |

It's a step in the right direction if yu ask me. Just that we want more. Go after the people financing terrorists, kidnappers, electoral manipulations. They all have financial records and trails. We can make Nigeria better even if it's not in our generation but for the ones yet to come but we must start now with bold steps. But it shouldn't be selective. Imagine the Aboki FX is owned by one Alhaji from the north. We won't hear anything. |

This CBN governor is pretty stupid. How many northerners on the streets and offices making billions from exchanging naira to dollar has ever been arrested for sabotaging the economy. If the guy has truly being selling or buying foreign currencies without license, just take him to court on that basis. His question on how he fixes exchange rates on his website is naive and senseless. If I want to know the black market rate, I will simply send my boys out on the streets to ask those mallams, and they will go to the banks to get official rates. Is there a law that stop one from posting public information online? Another attempt to use Interpol to carry out a fraudulent arrest. |

Busayobanks: A quote once said, "every human being has a part of them that could be bought with money" that includes you and myself as well. Like I always say, politics is far beyond what you can see. Politics is more of the inside than the outside we all are seeing.... This is a game of alignment for 2023, expect to see more by 2022. It is called, "alignment and realignment" Some will align well, while some will fall out of alighment. Let me give you a typical example, FFK cross carpet to APC, that same day, Sen Sehu Sani crossed to PDP. Now, by 2023, we shall see if two both have align well or not..
POLITICS IS DEEP, A GAME OF WHO GET WHAT, AND WHAT DO I GET. Talk for yourself. Stop assuming everyone is the sane even if they are Nigerians. For the family I come from, you will really try to get us sold for your money. Thank God for my parents. For example, I left a 6-figure salary job in North America when some white colleagues try to put my dignity to test. No regret. Obviously there were tough times but today I could make the same within a week. I also remember turning down a chic who expected that I would stay with her in hope of getting a residential permit Of course, I loved her buy getting married at that point especially for residential permit wasn't part of my plan. I don't fool people and I neither do I like being fooled. If you stay hopeful, work hard and elevate your human essence (called 'Ori' in Yoruba), you will be elevated. But if you can't stop acting like a low life desperado that will do anything for anything, then one will remain so for life. Fani-Kayode will remain a desperado until he enter grave. Go check his family history. Their ancestral mis-steps continue to hunt them. Someone that remove "Ifa" from his family name. Don't let me go too deep. Some yorubas here will know what I mean but even they might be worse than him. |

Lifestone: We reason with lots of sentiment as a country. In my view, this project is all about competing for the share of trade routes to Niger Republic which is being competed for by both Nigeria and Benin Republic. Niger Republic is land locked and will require access to Sea/Port through either Nigeria or Benin Republic. This is an economically sensible decision. The project is also significantly part of the LAKAJI corridor which was essentially designed to link Lagos to Kano to Niger Republic, that plan has been on ground before Buhari and it makes sense. That project will certainly pay for itself given the success of Abuja - Kaduna and Lagos - Ibadan experience. What volume of trade are we talking about? I am sure its not up to a quarter of the trade in Aba or other parts of eastern region that need to be connected to other parts of Nigeria. |

As we know, ports infrastructure in the country is not controlled by the state governments, so they cannot say that it is their revenue; it is controlled by the Federal Government, it is federal revenue."
Then no problem, let the FG keep and share whatever it get as VAT from imports, while states also keep what they make in their states as VAT. This one is using English and deceit to confuse people. VAT is a consumption tax. I don't know how import represent consumptiion.

The national assembly cannot overrule it except by first amending the constitution to change the 1978 Land Use Act that empowers the governors as custodian of land. It's a tall order and will never work. So, who will they now put in charge of land in the whole of Nigeria? The man in Abuja? These people are evil. Someone share a video with me via Whatsapp that shook me. The incident happened in an Islamic country. A woman was caught cheating on her husband in public. Nothing was done against the man she went out with. There and then, she was surrounded by some men which I believe included her husband. Another fellow that dressed like a cleric with an head wear started reciting from a book that was possibly the Quran. The lady was on her knees, and just out of nowhere, another guy brought out a short gun and shot the lady in the head at point blank. She dropped dead immediately. A woman was summarily executed in public for cheating. |

tysontim: Diri faults IOCs on paying income tax in Lagos For Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, part of his complaints is the decision of international oil companies (IOCs) to continue paying their employees’ income tax to Lagos State where they have their headquarters as against the states where they extract oil. This is simple but in Nigeria one plus one is often not two. Location of workers performing specific task for a company determines the state they pay tax to. If oilfield workers work directly in fields located in Bayelsa, then the tax go to Bayelsa. But only a fraction of oil industry workers work directly in oilfields. A bulk of them work in offices located elsewhere possibly in other states. Then those workers in offices pay tax to the state they are located in. How does Bayelsa State expect to receive income tax of oil industry workers that work and reside in Lagos? How senseless and greedy is that. |

TeamLeader: by super loan app
Let me say it's my greed just that man is so so broke and I needed money for urgent reason, (my baby medicals tomorrow)
the app is fake unknown to me so I downloaded it from playStore. and I got registered just like normal app.
see the details.
first as I keyed in my number to register and the otp code should be sent to my number as sms but the app generated the otp code automatically (First red flag but ignored). I filled in all my details with atm card info, all.
I continued every and the offered many options there. what triggered my application was they offered loan of 30k to be paid back in 120days was what captivated my mind.
so at the dying stage I was a little surprised when they said they amount i wanted to borrow which is the 30k is something blah blah blah that I will have to make a deposit of 2088 for genuine interest and verification that it would be deducted from my loan when paying (second red flag but ignored also)
my mumu me quickly keyed in my atm card details which is the pin and ccv all.
immediately I got the debit alert and going back to the app, it started to misbehave.
first I can't edit or delete my atm details, it's there on the app as default.
no loan offer options anymore. in fact after the payment sef they were even referring people to other genuine loan app as their corporate bodies.
I tried to screenshot the app, no way. says it's protected. I tried to do screen recording it's just dark, nothing. I tried to minimize and screenshot from therr, no way.
they even put timing on the app page like when the time elapsed they can't give the loan again I guess it's just to make people hurry to make the payment.
this is a well worked scam and I know it's not only me that will be a victim.
My fear is my atm card details are still on the app as default I can't even do anything about it which means that the account would be monitored and any money that comes in now is gone, immediately! So tomoro am blocking the ATM card at the office or does anyone know how I can block the card with someone's phone? I will appreciate with the info abeg.
then I went straight to the app store where I downloaded the app, see what people are saying below.
I learnt my learn the hard way not to get greedy. but no one Is above mistake and being scammed.
be wise guys from this app.
You can just download the app and see if you can do screenshot to confirm this if it would be possible Go on the App Store to report the app as fake so thar others won't fall victim. |

mikeapollo: I don't agree that the FG alone should collect VAT, but we have to be fair to other states who did not enjoy the kind of investments that FG made in states like Lagos and Rivers. The status of Lagos as a commercial city is due mainly to investments by FG when Lagos was the federal capital....the roads, sea ports, airport, headquarters of industries/companies, embassies, etc. So LASG alone cannot pretend to be the brain behind the commercial activity and transactions that generate VAT in the state. They already have PAYE tax to themselves. VAT should be shared between states and FG. It really doesn't require any argument. What does the constitution say? That's what the court used to arrive at this judgement. |
Politics › Re: VAT: I Feel Your Pain - Wike Tells Masari, Other Supporters Of Status Quo by ajl: 12:56pm On Sep 07, 2021 |
mikeapollo: The VAT should be shared between FG and states in an equitable manner Most of the business opportunities in Lagos and Rivers are due to investments by FG in those states(eg seaports, airports, roads etc. Lagos for instance was the federal capital territory and investments by the FG alone is responsible for more than 80% of the commercial activity in Lagos. The states cannot lay sole claim to VAT, and same for the FGN Which FG investment are you talking about. The FG that can't even rehabilitate a single road in Lagos. Now they give companies like Dangote tax credit to construct road or indirectly force state to rehabilitate the road and collect refund for money spent by state is headache. Do you know what a federation mean? The northern states has all they need to promote business activities in their state. They should use their head. They want to continue to collect money from people they claim to be living haram. Hypocrisy! |

eldoradoxx: People often make reference to multi billion naira VAT from alcoholic drinks as though it is the the only product that attracts VAT. The items that attract VAT is uncountable. All the soft drinks, juice just name, all the goods inside supermarkets and shopping malls u see all attract VAT. When you recharge your phone, u pay VAT. What about when you pay ur TV subscription, electricity recharge or bills, all banking transactions etc. The goods and services that attract VAT is inexhaustible. That is why I keep wondering why the North feels that it is cheated whenever issue of VAT is mentioned. Actually VAT is paid on consumption of goods and services within a state as a source of revenue for the State to use to provide services like road, electricity etc for you the consumer. But due to our feeding bottle federalism where States converge at Abuja every month to share money from oil, States have forgotten that their secret goldmine is VAT and they have to do everything possible to collect it. Now Wike has woken a sleeping nation. I commend him. This is the quality of brain Nigeria needs to grow honestly. People use alcohol as a reference because collecting VAT that include taxes from sale of alcohol which the northern state had banned people from selling or drinking reflect hypocrisy of the northern people. Meaning you want to collect VAT payments from FG even though the funds include money from items you claimed is an "haram" in Islam. It's hypocrisy that is currently destroying the north. People practicing hypocrisy normally don't progress in life because they always get paid back in full. Dubai was largely a desert without sky scrapper in the 90s. See where they are now. These northerners seem to have condemned themselves as people who can't move forward even though all the resources they need to do that is available to them. But they are busy holding others back. |

If you are all close to or understand your traditional knowledge, this life wouldn't be a riddle. According to the Yoruba cosmology and Ifa, every human has Ori or Eleda (human essence). Before each person embarked on the "journey" into existence, there are things he/she has agreed with his/her Ori to achieve in life but we all forget all these things once we are born. We often call this destiny or fate. So, a wicked or evil person who has been destined to be rich or to prosper will be because that has been written into his/her life. But also this individual will still have to face karma in this life or another cycle of life. So, let us not wonder when the wicked prosper and neither should one envy them. |
