Ribadu has been playing chess with the truth since GEJ gave him a soft landing and allowed in back into the country without prosecution. I am not surprised as that is what I know him for, doublespeak. If Bode George becomes President tomorrow, Ribadu would deny ever investigating him.

Ribadu was not shot at in a Honda CRV but a Lexus Jeep. I will dig for the info and paste here.

Of course there are questions to be asked, but this is still very conservative by Nigerian standards. I mean only this month, Fayemi, a possible nobody before being elected Governor, announced almost a billion naira in assets. Compare that to this, the records of a man who actually served for 5 years in a high position, and you just have to admit that, if true, it is freaking amazing by Nigerian standards.

Exactly the point, the declaration was made to portray an air of conservatism when the true picture is just not so. And on Fayemi's case, just like what Yar'adua did, politicians when they assume positions are now fond of declaring what the expect to have amassed by the time to leave office. That way, it would seem they have not enriched themselves.

Where the law is lacking is that it does not empower that those declarations be investigated and also made public to ensure that people come out with facts. You cannot fight or go against a government document that is not public in a law court. So by this limitation, even if I know and have proof that Ribadu under declared, I can only submit petitions to ICPC but can't do anything about it if they (ICPC) refuse to take it up.

Your comment is anticipated because you really know nothing about politics. In politics you have to employ diplomacy and strike when your opponent least expects. GEJ is a smart politician. Never let your enemy anticipate your move and do not allow people push you to strike at their own time.

So your GEJ would be using diplomacy to deal with known crooks, (or is it using known crooks like Anenih for diplomacy  ) and waiting for the right time to nip the Jos crisis in the bud? Or waiting for the right time to make moves to move the nation forward.

There are serious issues with our gas supply infrastructure. For instance, the SE (for reasons best known to past govts) is completely cut off from the rest of the country gas wise, whereas Eastern Nigeria is very important in gas production. Port Harcourt is in the East, same as our highest oil producing state, Akwa ibom, same as Bayelsa and Rivers.
The problem is so gross, that there could be abundant gas coming from Delta state, but absolutely none in the East and vice-versa. How we could have ended up with such an arrangement is beyond me. It ranks right up there with how we signed all of our gas supplies to foreign countries up till 2015. Way above that though, is that it is a serious security problem for the country, if an enemy were to attack, then the isolation of the East would make it easy to knock out 100% of Nigeria's power supply, a very dire situation indeed.

So far there has been a lot of frantic behind the scenes work to normalise our gas infrastructure and bring it up to date (hence the record amount of power supplied last week), because govt seems serious about power supply, but it will take time to get some things right, there might be further hiccups. of course, being Nigeria, there might also be some mago mago dealings. But we will get there.

NNPC has to answer quite serious questions about how gas supply they had guaranteed could drop so low as have a chain effect that knocked out plants across the nation.

Much as I agree with most of your analysis, I must point out the bolded part. It is not actually correct that the entire SE is cut off from gas supply. Abia state is in the East and so many manufacturing companies there are operating on gas, NB, Guinness and Unilever for instance. And this is because Aba has a large concentration of companies able to utilize the gas.

For economic reasons, you also have to consider profitability before people (govt or private) can build gas pipelines. This explains why there is the West African Gas Pipelines project and no Northern Nigeria gas projects as most industries are located along the coast in all the West African countries.

NNPC does not guarantee gas supplies as it does not produce gas by any means. Gas is a product of Oil exploration and so long as the ND youths tamper with the pipelines, gas production would be affected. If you blow up an oil or condensate pipeline, the net effect is also a reduction in gas production.

I might add that until the government comes out with a comprehensive pricing policy for gas, gas flaring and the attendant issues surrounding gas supply would continue.

Hmmm, compare this to the umber of families crying due to the Christmas eve blast in Jos. The number of families that observed Christmas in the hospital due to lack of good roads, lack of adequate mediacl facilities or other failings of giovernment while Ribadu and El Rufai were partying?

Details of the document show that before Mr. Ribadu became the EFCC chair, he had 187 cows valued at N7.5 million, a residential quarters in Yola worth N4.5 million, and a N10 million land in Abuja. He also had a Honda Accord car valued at N2 million, a Honda CRV valued at N2.3 million and N1.6 million and £200 cash in two local banks and a London bank respectively.

The end of tenure asset declaration by Mr. Ribadu shows that while he was leaving EFCC in 2008, he had $8,064 in two local banks, sourced from his allowances, a plot of land at Katampe Hills in Abuja valued at N2 million, a residential quarters in Yola valued at N5 million, and a N200,000 home furniture. He also had a N2.3 million Honda Accord car bought in 2006.

He, however, lost 67 cows and was left with 120 cows valued at N5 million.

What this declaration means is what it says: that this is what Ribadu claims and not necessarily that that is what it is.  Going through what he himself has admitted though makes for some interesting read.

a. What happened to the N10 Million Naira land in Abuja?
b. By Ribadu's admission, the cost or value of cows was diminshing during his tenure. 
c. The Honda CRV is also worth the same amount after the his tenure.
d. What about the Jeep that he was purportedly shot at?
e. Ribadu never invested in himsled in all his tenure, so what was his salary being used for?

I have learnt in life, that one should be careful of two situations in life: 1. The presence of the abnormal and 2. The absence of the normal.

There are a lot of absences in his declaration and that is what I'd love to find out. Am sure a keen investigator would be able to dig up more interesting stuffs.
