See where you got it wrong, Lagos State government does not issue driver's licenses but FRSC, which happens to be a federal institution.
I would have loved for states to be issuing it though as Lagos would be able to control of the blind people with drivers license in Nigeria. The issue is drivers license has been made a form of identity and thus almost everyone has to have one whether they drive or not. based on this, even blind people do get one to enable them make transactions in the banks

For avoidance of doubt, the Presidency is the one with the sole authority to check the Legislatures by being above board and thus able to command the respect and followership of the populace. However, the Presidency loses the moral authority to check the legislature when it comes to salaries, since for the legislators to get what they want, they simply amend the portions to affect the presidency and voila, case closed, increment approved.
The Presidency has been benefiting from all the illegal increases as well.

Yes, the Checks & Balances is not a one-way affair. The executives do check the legislature by being the one that control the purse strings while they need the legislatures to approve the expenditures even including that one to be spent by the legislature. So the Execs checks the legislatures, and the legislature checks the Execs and the judiciary is there to adjudicate between them.

The law actually requires that if you are going to be resident in that state for longer than 90 days, you are required to obtain new documents from that states motor licensing authority. That is what the Nigerian Motorway & Highways code says. The only difference is we've all been flouting this law and it now seems to be the norm. The truth, the law recognizes that you need new papers once you settle in another state!

My guy, what is special is that a government in Lagos State has seen a need to protect its people from the effect on non-compliant or hazardous tankers being on its roads. If all other states start to copy this and effectively put in place M.O.T centers of quality and using the same Lagos standards then our roads would be safer and Nigerians would be better for it.

BTW, since fake goods don't also just appear in chemists or pharmaceutical shops across Nigeria, we can as well scrap NAFDAC since they would have been checked at the border

All this votes were to be checked by the Executives, who actually control the purse strings. But seeing as the President is always afraid and is lame duck, they don't get challenged. It is the abdication of duty by the Executives that is making the legislators get away with it. And when it now comes to an extra N1,000.00 increase for workers, the President has to consult the Council of State!

Look , the traffic regulations guiding vehicle documents are not issued at state level, they federal wide regulations. In this country there are those regulations that are within the ambit of the states to make or amend. This is a FEDERAL issue. Is this clear enough. No state government can decide that they are going to change these without the consent of the body / bodies that regulate these issues.

I think you missed the main point of that regulation. Yes, the Driver's license, vehicle Particulars and Insurance documents are valid across the federation, however, the law allows any state to demand or prescribe any other requirements for road usage within its territory. Therefore what Lagos State is proposing is not illegal but within their rights.

Remember the case of the mobile communications masts, Lagos State does not have a right to grant mobile license but has the authority to regulate thongs within its territory. If Lagos State feels that for safety reasons, all tanker drivers operating within Lagos State needs to have some form of safety clearance, then they can enforce such. All that means is this, for a while there might be fuel scarcity, but once other marketers realize how much business is in Lagos, they would comply and Lagos roads and inhabitants would be safer for it.

The difference is that this are Principal Officers house, they are official residences, paid for and maintained by the government which is why Principal officers don't collect house or furniture allowances. Note that normal legislators do not have official residencies and thus they receive those annoying allowances.

Because somehow, we are made different from ladies by the Lord. For the fact that we are males, we are very much logical in our thoughts and this to a large extent drives our relationships and how we go about them.

Atiku is a very skillful rogue, very suitable for the Nigerian brand of politics, I based my argument on how he survived OBJ/Ribadu and still turned over OBJ's 3rd term ambition.
He managed to con the so called progressives to believe that he is one of them and they were ready to die for him, only for him to visit his nemesis OBJ  for a friendly chat without blinking an eye.

Hmmm, from what you wrote here, you just confirmed that Atiku is a consumate politician and thus GEJ has to be wary.
Note that in politics, there are no permanent friends/enemies, just interests. Atiku aligned with the progressives to scuttle the 3rd term bid, and the progressives aligned with him in his struggles in the court to ensure that the court clearly makes a pronouncement that INEC has no power to disqualify.

Now once those fights were over, Atiku reached out to OBJ for the sake of his own relevance. There is nothing wrong with that. The Yorubas say 'Ti a ba diju ge igi nigbo, ti a ba sora, a ge eyan mo' meaning if you close your eyes to cut trees in the forest, you might end up cutting humans - friends/foe.

Atiku, has played politics long enough that he knows the terrain of the PDP, while GEJ has to depend on state power to coax follower-ship. The PDP would be an interesting thing to follow.
