My guy, a simple use of the logical side of our brains would help us out a little. Yes he need not appoint the VC on opening day, but he definitely should not appoint the VC two years away from even the first building of the school! These schools have just been announced, and in case you are not aware, the hardest and critical part of any university accreditation are the faculties - buildings, facilities, laboratories, etc.

And those are more than two years away, giving the way we do things in Nigeria under the public sector. Whatever inputs those VCs could inject are better handled by the Ministry of Education.

The CEO of an existing company is different from that of a start up company so your analogy does not fall in line. So if you as a person decides to run a primary or secondary school business. You will just go ahead, build the school and then start looking for teachers and workers right? Everything is planning and it is right to appoint the VC so he can contribute to the establishment and future running of the school from now on. The other staffs, linkages and connections to the industry and education sector has to be made. Curriculum has to be developed for these new schools. So what is wrong there in appointing them to start working on the overall project of these new schools so there can be a smooth take off at the right time.

So you expect the CEO of a start-up company to first employ an MD first before the product is ready or the company is registered? How much for smartness!
If I intend to run a school business, I would buy the land, get the approval, start building and engage consultants on how best to setup the school. But definitely would not appoint a Principal first before starting to build my school.

Please, is the bold parts correct? Does GEJ understand what a diplomatic passport is used for? 2001, Nigeria confirmed its FULL membership by President Obasanjo attending its D8 summit.

Nsiman, your lack of knowledge is appalling. Buhari was Chairman of PTF, a special fund for money realized from the increase in petrol pump price under the Abacha regime. Abacha appointed Buhari to manage that special fund ONLY, not the entire crude sales or money from other sources, just money realized from the increase in the pump price of petroleum products.

And I must say, that has been the only time that Nigerians could see what was done with the pump price increase, quality road, equipped hospitals and improved infrastructure, During the IBB, OBJ and Yar'adua years, all we got were promises of what the money would be used for but we experienced were bad roads, dilapidated structures and collapsed health care.

Tell me, what have we experienced under Yar'adua/GEJ with the increase in crude oil prices?

3. If gross indiscipline was happening at the banks - why was Soludo not aware considering the mentioned banks constantly requested for short term loan from the cbn to shore up deposits.

By your reasoning above, all the BoD of those 5 banks should be in jail, since they even hard direct supervisory roles over the CEOs than Soludo did. When Soludo did the consolidation, the banks obviously needed some short-term loan financing to ensure stability. Cecilia Ibru and co, simply took advantage of a situation that was put in place to ensure that stability of the whole sector. Ok, charge Soludo for Cecilia knowing that her limit is 2Billion, then breaking a loan of 10BN to 6 different smaller loans and then authorizing by herself. Do you begin to understand the futility of this stance!

And by the way, the short-term loan bust came up because Soludo had insisted that ALL banks have the same end-year. If not for that, the bubble would have just been passed from one bank to the other according to their financial year.  Sanusi came on board when the policy was being implemented and the banks of course couldn't pass it to other banks and thus it had to show in their books.
I do have a problem with many Nigerians thinking that the person that commissioned or declared open a skyscraper is the performer, forgetting that someone had conceived it, someone else allowed it to continue and that someone happen to be fortunate enough to be there when the 12 / 10 / 5/ 4 year project was been completed. Just my personal opinion though, what I noticed about the 3 candidates for this primaries from their preparations for the convention.

Madam Sarah Jibril knew he candidacy is based on sentiments and thus hammered only on the sentiments of ladies. She however noted how her non preparedness should sound and thus she made a comment that she wanted to speak ex-tempore.

Atiku's candidacy in fighting the incumbent had always been based on the need to respect the party constitution and agreements whenever they are entered into, to him this is a hallmark of integrity. His attack on GEJ took away from him but he was clearly prepared for the occasion. He had his notes and he had his speech. This can only point to a man that his meticulous.

GEJ speech was disjointed but this can be attributed to the notes been hurriedly scribbled down during the interlude created by the compere and others. He showed maturity in not responding to attacks by Atiku but unfortunately failed to keep his own promise to keep to time. He clearly itemized what he would want to do for the nation but even his speech left you wondering what he had been doing a;ll this while.

All in all, some things can be deduced from the state of preparedness of the aspirants.
