I’m happy that you have such a great friend who helped but I’m so jealous! Your flowers are nothing short of spectacular and look so robust. All
Of them. You have a reason to boast!
I buy marigolds already bloomed yearly and live in a zone conducive to growing them but those guys wither as soon as I place them in the ground. embarassed
The Knockout Roses grow well as long as I give them epsom salt but besides those guys, Sunflowers are the only flowers I see success with. I’m a wizard at growing veggies though, especially from scraps so we’ll have to help eachother out.
For the withering plants, try soaking (drenching the roots) in water before transplanting. It does help.

Cococandy, your flower garden is nice! I prefer herbs and edible veggies though. Well done

It is way more delicious

It's cheaper to make your own.
You'd be surprised at the amount of chips you'd get with just 2-3 pieces of plantains.

I enjoy making and seasoning mine with suya spice.
How do you slice yours? My grater isn't giving me what I want

If you don't have a mini herb and spice garden, definitely get one. It doesn't take much, and the taste is quite different.
Your garden is so fine. Nice herbs.
I have them all in my container garden

Banga soup and starch.
Made this with catfish, chicken and tinko meat

After over 3 years of craving Banga soup and starch, I finally made and ate one today.

My friend sent the ingredients all the way from Delta State. Thank God for good food.

Happy Father's Day.

Awwwwwww. Thanks so much for your kind words but the decision to go sugar-free was 100% made by me. Not only did I go sugar-free, but I also went bread/pastry -free and beef free, and it's been almost 2 months. It was entirely for health purposes.

I feel really good so far and it's one of the best decisions I've made. But, I'll surely go back to these foods IF my body craves them, albeit slowly and in small quantities.

Add to that, I spent an hour on your profile at midnight. I was beyond shook and hooked. All your food, I mean all of them look appetizing and sumptuous!
Awesome.

Thanks cheesy
I'm blushing

Wow. You made these? So beautiful! I wish I could eat them but I've been sugar-free for almost two months and I don't want to stop now.
Yes, thanks

Permit me to say this, I don't know the exact reason you're living a sugar free lifestyle, but....

We should not allow these doctors demonize sugar. There's nothing wrong with taking sugar (except for some medical cases). However, take in moderate proportion.

These people keep demonizing our food. My point is eat your food as medicine.
Even excess water intake is bad. It is called Water Intoxication but that does not stop us from drinking water daily as it is required for life activities.

...lemme stop here.

Happy Sunday all

They are costly because of exchange

In naija, there is this pots that sisi yemi use. Have forgotten the name but it's the preferred dutch oven those lekki people use. Produced in South Africa.
(That woman made money but the usual naija show-off happened. She invested in le creuseut and co later but I don't know who she was trying to impress when ordinary Nigerians who watch her show don't care about those kind of things. Stopped watching her when the show off became too much. She later confessed she saved nothing)

In all I still believe that the best pot to invest in is quality stainless aluminium pots. Even wok. Easier to wash, use as you want. Doesnt demand for seperate utensils when cooking. And yeah the most expensive from well known companies if one want to go for them but whether expensive or cheap, still the best
Have you watched the video of "Pot of flavour" on YouTube? She did a market video on sales/purchase of fairly used kitchen utensils at Alaba market. Mehn, these overhyped pots are super super cheap in that market! I wish I was in Lagos, I'd have bought enough kitchen utensils for myself

Unpopular but personal opinion: I think Banga soup is overrated . I’ve had it different times at different places , prepared by different people and I still can’t get around the hype . I’ve had it with rice , with Eba and yet I just find it to be basic ; I don’t rate it higher than normal stew sef.

Recently I’ve grown fond of Afang soup and o’boi that’s one good soup when taken with pounded yam and cold water , u will forget the problems of this world for hours.
Lol.....Banga soup is always a banger! Who prepped the ones you ate? An indigenous Deltan or......? What protein was used? Note, Ofe akwu is not our Delta Banga o. We use our native spices (obenetete, obrunbebe stick, ataiko and the likes) to prep Banga soup. Most Banga soups prepare in the city don't use these spices making it Ofe Akwu and not Banga soup

What flavour of powder and did you boil the watermelon, cucumber, pineapple, cinnamon, ginger, clove and flavoured powder with the zobo leaves?
I used Berry Flavour.

No. I didn't. I added it immediately after boiling so the heat can help sterilize/kill every microbe in the juice.

I only boiled the clove, cinnamon, pineapple peels and nutmeg with the zobo leaves
