Hope those shouting and showering praises and commendations will be around when the table turns. I made this statement because Nigerians have the capacity to turn 360 degree and start singing another tune when events were not in their favour. The Lagos, lbadan media axis told us the ills when GEJ administration adjusted the petrol price per litre to almost what the present administration has done now only to support the same issue citing kangaroo reasons. |
I am saddened by what this man has just vomited. Now what is to be done. Rather than approach issues nationalistic this man is busy telling us story. So the deputy president of the Senate is from Algeria, therefore he is not fit to preside over the Nigeria Senate in the absence of its president. Our present economic standard must be as a result of the deputy president being an 'outcast'. Another excuse though indirectly. |
In a civilized country Saraki could have step down but is Nigeria a civilized country. Why should he step down when the system that brought him to power is the same system that brought the president to power and it's beneficiaries such as a Adesina and Co. Where are we when all promises made by the ruling party were thrown to the dogs. That cannot happened in a civilized country. So much for the stepping down syndrome. Except of course the judiciary the executive and the legislative arm of the government are elective offices. |
Thus administration is very funny. Everything is for publicity. So to allow Arase to complete his tenure is an achievement in this administration. The question is, is he not a Nigerian. |
How l wish those telling us now that it's irrelevant where you come from or which religion does the new appointments practice in this administration will be around to repeat this same statement when the table turns. Of course Nigerians are very funny people that forget easily or pretend to forget the recent past and shamelessly started singing another tune when events were not in his favour. The recent adjustment in the petrol price is a pointer. |

Even lawyers who suppose to defend the defenceless are busy forming association based on religion. So doctors, engineers, accountants, pharmacists, drivers, shoeshiners, carpenters, mechanics, tailors etc will form association base on their religious beliefs. Tell me fellow nls how will this country move forward. Rather than approach issues putting the nation at front banners, no religion will rather take that role. The collective resolve will just not be there because my religion not my country abhors it. |
Religion tearing us apart. In the north or rather some part of the north religion has been a war that is fantastically tearing them apart. Killing and maiming a fellow human being simply because he or she does not believe in your religion. God should not have allowed human beings to control religion just as we have no powers to control the sun, moon, air etc. Why don't you practice your beliefs and leave the rest to the almighty God. Nobody died and came back. Even the two leading prophets refused to come back. Neither the handler of African traditional religion comes back once he or she is dead. So why don't you practice your beliefs peacefully and let the other peacefully after all non goes there and comes back to tell us what goes on beyond the earth. How we wear our clothes is purely our design whether a Muslim or Christian. We created clothes, TV, aeroplane, motor cars, lorries, trains, telephone etc so how we use the aforementioned items depends entirely on we the human beings.. The beautiful architectural built churches, mosques and shrines are for human comforts. In the village, we prayed in thatch houses so what are we talking about. There our children roam about naked or half dressed. |
Religion is supposed to be personal. Somehow either by mistake or design the powers that be brought it as an institution forcing you to abide by their beliefs and eventually destroying humanity. Reading meanings to national life in their religious beliefs. Rather unfortunate. |
I have always believed that somehow the system should look for a way to stop this prostitution . And if you are to decamp why should it be to the ruling party. Decamp to other political party other than the ruling party if at all you have to decamp. Alternatively resign and contest on your new fancy party. |
It's not only very important to go through history but the true history of an event. It will help in arriving at a just reaction. |
The last time the gateman shouted at his landlord was the very last time he stayed employed there. |
I was reading and comprehending his speech until when ministry of information was to tell us the looters. But Lai Moh is the minister of information the then APC publicity secretary and l kept quite. My fuel pump got burnt and l blamed the manufacturer forgetting the fact that there was no fuel in the tank. Oh no. But l just have to say something. Right. |
I read the reaction of some nls and got me amused. So we have people who believed in fairy story. 30trillion. No it must be millions or at worst billions. Trillions? The entire budget of GEJ up to the present angel is not up to 30trillion so? |
People say it would have been worse had it been GEJ was still in power. Left to me alone that's another lame excuse among numerous excuses. At times the people at the helm of affairs believed we are kids who cannot reason and expect us to accept with joy every controversial excuses. |
While people are grieving for a lost one, some people are busy talking politics and religion. For God's sake we all met religion and politics on this earth and we all will leave it here and move on. May her soul rest in peace. |
The big question is how will the state and local governments pay 56k when many states are owning salary arrears of 18k. Maybe the nlc is now a political party that says one thing and the opposite will be carried out. Sincerely unless we are jokers, l believe the suggestion is just not possible now. |
To condemned 16 years of the civilian administration as misrule in one swap sounds funny to any patriotic Nigerians. A politician can say anything to gain popularity but certainly people should be able to dissect truth from propaganda. There's need to give this administration time to set its agenda but that not withstanding, the administration must listen to constructive criticism.. |
So if for instance my wife traveled to kano and for one reason or the other she has to spend the night what is she suppose to do. Go and start looking for the sharia police or go to police station or sleep around emir of kano's wall fence. Carrying religion too far and eventually destroying humanity that its suppose to serve. Nigeria we hailed. |
I am taken aback when people believed that whatever efcc or the Fed. govt. pronounced is word of an angel. Let people understand that in our country Nigeria, there is three arms of govt., the executive the legislative and the judiciary that are supposed to be independent of each other. If any among the three decided to Lord it over the other then we are heading for trouble. Those who are clapping when any of these three arms of government exceed or tramp upon the laid down laws are not helping matters whatsoever. Any of us can fall victim, it's only then one will understand what it is to be held contrary to the laid down procedures. This is how Nigerians made dim god of their leaders and starred shouting when the heat turned against them. |
One should not be surprised at what Gov Shettima has told the former President. Blame GEJ and possibly fuel price and other social upheavals will go back to normalcy. The beauty of it is the former President knows exactly what transpired though politics might add a colour to suit the present need. |
We were colonized by British and we got our independence in 1960. It's my candid opinion that if at all there is need for protest, it should be at the National Assembly and to some extent Security outfit offices. We also have the courts. Hope the leaders of this nation will draw the attention of the power that be to respect the law of the land. The nation's security agencies should not be allowed to be used by the politicians, otherwise there is nothing stopping the next incoming administration not to exactly do what this administration has done in demotions and retirements of these security personnel. |
Provided these teachers are not owed any salary and dully promoted. If these were taken care of then the government can issue query and temper justice with mercy. |
Very interesting story |
If the almighty God grant us good health and long life, all these accusations and counter accusations will gradually come to an end and maybe the truth can be accessed. Just like the promise of healthy water supplies to the masses of this country since 50s to date yet there is no enough water even in 2016 so also these hues of corruption which most of the overthrown governments were accused of dating back to 60s. People were jailed for 100 years plus in this country yet we are clapping and falling over each other in singing the new natonal anthem - corruption just like kids. |
God did not create clothes for human beings. Neither did God tell us these are what to eat. We human beings created clothes and we choose among food varieties created by God what to eat and what not to eat depending on where we found ourselves. This also applies to animals and water based creatures, insects etc. What l found amusing is we human beings made choices among aforementioned items and decreed that it was God 's. I just think God has nothing to do with how we dress or eat. Some countries revered cows while others went after it. Pigs even here in Nigeria are forbidden while in the same Nigeria its not only a delicacy but reserved for festivity period. It is my candid believe that given the chance even the car or lorries that transport us will be likened to God and therefore chose those to enter and those to be abandoned. Perhaps we equate the almighty God to our mothers and fathers that as we move on in life guides us only for us to take over when age catches up with them and the circle continues. I remember when we told our younger ones on what our fathers or mothers hate or even frightened or threatened them just to get what we want at that particular time. |
At tines l wondered whether people believe that the vast majority of Nigerians are fools. |
Investigate him properly, if it turns out that all he wants was just for a show off, the madam should forgive him and left off the hook. Someone mentioned that it was youthful exuberance which might be true. |
Opportunity presents itself and those with knowledge cash in. Luckily GEJ is a Democrat to the core. He believes in democracy while ninety percent of the politicians don't, though they talked about democracy. Just take Taraba, Rivers and to some extent Ekiti states where there was running battle, how much more of the presidency if it were the other way round. |
I believe nairaland is a forum to air or say your opinion base on your conviction on an issue. The idea of canceling ones opinion simply because you believe you have a better opinion is in itself wrong. Must l agree with your views. Express your opinion and counter it with superior reasoning if any. With this we learn from each other and shape the country's destiny. |
