PoliticsRe: Why Does The Nigerian Army’s Logo Have An Arabic Inscription? by Alba3: 10:26pm On Jul 24, 2021
People in charge dictate everything. Others are just like subservient individuals or second/third class citizens with little right or say.

How many Nigerians can read that inscription? How will the muslim North feel if Hebrew is used instead of Arabic.

All good national posts and all the natural resources are taken over already. We only have collaborators.

Everything needs restructuring if we're to remain one nation.

They will never! They love to blame others!
Enugu is full with markets having poor sanitation: ogbete, artisan, gariki, asata, mayor, camp, new market, etc. Authorities should do something reasonable before the disease spreads.

It is conquered territory by the fulanis. In their minds Lagos is meant to be held. Remember it is the only possible access to the sea by the entire North. They are not about to let it go. Sunday Igboho is going nowhere
But your small Abia has more than 5 military formations and a place like Ekiti has none.

Are Kaduna. Abuja, Abia with many military baracks conquered territories?
PoliticsPutting Pressure On Akeredolu To Contest For Next President by Alba3(op): 6:59am On Jul 06, 2021
Making Arakunrin the next president of Nigeria may return this nation to pre-1966 constitution and progress. I have been studying him, among many politicians, for the past five years; he has no ambition to rule Nigeria, although highly qualified and unbiased.

He was a former NBA president; he never shy away from speaking the truth and support his beliefs whenever the need arises. He loves to do the wishes of those that elected him even when such is in conflict with his party men. He's married to a woman from Imo and his mother from riverine part of Ondo. He understands the mutual feelings and experiences of the people of the South. He also has heart for the masses in the North, as an activist, as opposed to the ruling feudalists. He may oppose nepotism, open grazing, herdsmen's atrocities, etc. but he's not a supporter of secession either.

He has been very vocal to the extent of being in the middle of a three-part-way alone. 'Buhari boys, Tinubu boys and pdp boys' don't really like him; he's on his own. He is trustworthy, compassionate and a thorough people's representative with rare leadership qualities.

I doubt if he ever thought of being the president but this is my own opinion of him. I'll only support a reforming president that will return this nation to 1963 republican constitution or help this country to go into confederations, if not a separation.

I want to put pressure on Mr. Rótìmí Akeredolu to consider contesting. I will appreciate others to present their own best candidates with reasons. Let start the constructive debate here before money bags and oligarchic candidates cajoles us to another centralised sufferings.

He always says he has no power to fight government but to defend his people's right to their ancestral lands. This is so difficult for some that believe in brute force without single tactic.

Moreover, we all enjoy his efforts through God's support as Fulani herdsmen's attacks have really reduced on the roads and SW generally.

People like fake guy above can be in his one room in Iba and keep mocking him but Igboho has contributed his efforts to help safe the poor and the rich, the politicians and powerful that are after him, including the families of the law enforcement officers being used against him.

You can't differentiate between Oyo and Ibolo; the combination of the two is what every Yoruba understands.

I will add those subgroups you mentioned.
There is a difference between when Ibolo from Ede or Okuku speaks and when Oyo or Ibadan person speaks. The thin line between Ibolo and Oyo is just the same as that of Ijesa and Ekiti.

Otun Ekiti was the leading Ekiti Town

It was such an important Historical Yoruba Town that when it was Carved into the Northern Region pressure was put on the British Colonial Government until it was remerged with the Western Region again

The People of Otun Ekiti Migrated from Lagos in the 15 th Century and share a Similar Ancestry with the Awori of Lagos
they are all descendants of Olofin Ogunfuminire

Otun Ekiti was where the Ooni had divided Yorubaland into 2 spheres of Influence between Benin and Oyo to make sure his Sons would not be fighting each other instead of Expanding Yorubaland and that rule held till about the 16 th Century

Benin tried to Capture Otun Ekiti 4 times but always failed

In the 1870s Ogendengbe and the Ekiti Parapo Army almost took over Benin but decided that their Independence from Ibadan was the bigger prize they needed after much begging and gifts from the Oba of Benin to Ogendengbe Benin was let off the hook
I agree with this. Moreover, we have three sets of Ekitis: those that shared common ancestors with Igala, Akokos, igodo, etc called Uraurẹ, the Obatala people called Ulesun and the recent, Omo Olofin, Omo Owa from Ifẹ; they form the ruling class in every town.
PoliticsRe: Yoruba Subgroups And Where They Are by Alba3:
Christistruth00:
Akure was Part of the 19 th Century Ekiti Parapo Army so was Ijesha
Before the Ekiti Parapo, there had been Ekiti confederal states and Pelupelu which Akure was part of, so also towns in Oke Ẹrọ and Ekiti LGAs in Kwara state (also some towns in Akoko like Irun, Ogbagi, though debatable). Ijesa was never part of this, although they are the closest group to Ekitis and they both faced the same existencial conflicts with Ibadan which gave rise to the uprising against the later referred to as Kiriji war.

We only have 5 stocks in Central Yoruba: Ife, Ekiti, Ìjèsà, Igbomina and Yagba. Can we now say Akure is with South Eastern Yoruba of Owo, Ijebu, Ilaje, Ikale, Akoko, Ondo, etc or with North Western Yoruba of Oyo, Ibolo, Owe, Egba, etc?
Among the Yorubas, the thin line that separates Ibolo from Oyo speaking group is same that separates Ìjèsà from Ekiti; they're very very close in everything. Akure have never had different identify until recently because it's the capital city of Ondo state. Go and study the culture, tradition, songs and history of a place like Igbara-Oke, Ilaramoki, Ijede, Iju, etc in Ondo state and compare with places like Igbara-odo, Ogotun, Ikere, Ise, etc in Ekiti.

It's also pathetic to see people saying Otun-Ekiti people are Igbomina (when you still have several Ekiti towns in Kwara after Otun) or Okemesi-Ekiti people are Ìjèsà. Ekiti is the only homogeneous state in the South if not in the entire Nigeria; the same stock of Yoruba people. They are only influenced in the boundary areas by Ijesa, Igbomina, Okun, Akoko, Owo and Ondo dialects of same Yoruba they belong to. The most important thing is Ekiti people understand themselves regardless the version one used unlike some parts of Akoko.

Greetings

Akure... Hin Ara o.

Ekiti... Hi ora o.

Though, it will be very difficult to differentiate
Emure, Ise also say...Hi ara o. That's Akure and some Ekiti variation of the same dialect. Some Ekiti will also say 'hin ilẹ́ o' instead of 'hi ora o'; that didn't change them from being Ekiti. Listen to Aramoko, Omuo, Otun, Ado, Igbara-odo (all within Ekiti) but different variations of same dialect.

All those you mentioned except ikere are part of Akure and they speak Akure. Ikere is entirely Ekiti and they speak Ekiti dialect
So Emure-Ekiti, Igbara-odo are part of Akure? Do little research about Ekiti confederation history. How did Deji found himself in Ekiti Pelupelu Obas before political demarcation? The entire Akure North, South, Ifedore LGA in Ondo state have shared history with Ekitis with little ìjèsà influence just as we find in Igbara-odo, Okemesi, Efon, Ikogosi, etc.

Is Akure different from Ondo Ekimogun? Are their dialects different?
There's no difference between Akure and Ekiti; shared culture, dialect, Erekesin markets, traditional stools, music and every other stuff. The only difference is that they are in different states and this makes Akure recently trying to identify differently.

Not alright! Ondo Ekimogun only shares boundary with Ekitis (in which Akure was part of), You need to listen to some Ondo panegyrics.
Akure dialect is closer to Ise, Emure, etc compared with Ekitis in moba and Kwara to Emure, Ise, Ikere, Ado.
Deji of Akure used to be part of Ekiti Obas' Pelupelu.

Ekitis fought for capital of old Ondo State to be in Akure rather than Ondo town. Maybe you should listen to Akure and other Ekiti traditional music and see if there is any difference.

Nope, Akure is entirely different from Ekiti.

Any difference in dialect among these towns, Iju, Emure, Akure, Ijare, Igbara-oke, Igbara-odo, Ilara-moki, Ikere dialect? Same dialect but in two states. Akure North, South, Ifedore are Ekitis culturally but not in a political entity. Deji of Akure used to be part of Ekiti Pelupelu Obas.
