Any Yoruba man that support the trashy and twisted narrative you put here need to have his head re-examined. He must have drank from the put of lies and hate you Igbo have unleashed on his tribe for years. He is only perpetrating his own enslavement because he has jettison history to embrace scheming of some callous and crafty element.

You Igbo are full of self righteousness but you are the most vile, divisive and ethnic conscious tribe in Nigeria. History has it on record that you have never supported a Yoruba man ambition but you always turn to accuse them when you find yourselves in messy situation.

Firstly, is Jonathan an Igbo man? Why are your tribe so attached to this failed and corrupt administration that you eternally tried to justify his misdeed. I never take you people criticism of Buhari seriously because you always do that in a bit to justify Jonathan administration.

Let's talk about history, from the first republic to second republic till date, tell me one instance when Igbo ever supported a Yoruba man. Azikiwe started the history of alliance with northerners leaving only Awolowo in opposition , yet the later outperformed all his counterpart in other regions. The unity party of Azikiwe and Northerner even tried to supplant Awo by distabilizing the southwest and sending him to prison. Every attempt by Awo to make the military government of Aguiyi Ironsi, an Igbo man see the political undertone behind his incarceration and Grant his release failed. It took Gowon to come to power and release him during the war.

What about recent events of June 12. 1993, Abiola had made his name as a foremost philanthropist in Nigeria and Africa and a pillar of sport who made sure Nigeria players were amply rewarded during a good showing in tournaments. His election was so popular as it was touted to end years of Military rule. He was voted massively in every region except the Igbo land. Even the northerners rejected their own son Uthman Tofa. Igbo never voted Abiola and their political players allied with the military to frustrate June 12.

Listen, Yoruba dont care about Tinubu. We aren't Maliciously ethnic conscious, it is the trait of you Igbo people. That is why you are hastily suspicious of Yoruba, your most loyal neighbours. Oyo voted pdp, Aketi never emerged through Tinubu connection, Ekiti once jettison APC for Fayose party. It is you Igbo that has remain with PDP and are so desperate to plant a Party where your polician can easily loot and dominate.

This is what they don't know about us... you an igbo man publicly declaring that you will vote for Yoruba man and tomorrow they will say Igbos hate yoruba...

Tinubu is a Yoruba man that the S.W really needs to get rid of. That attack on Igbos during the election made me lost a multimillion naira real estate deal because the client was from the East as they planned to expand their company to South West. All explanation was rejected,no matter how I tried. I even proposed Ogun state but they refused.
Yoruba has no attachment to ethnic interest. They have experimented with different party and have rejected Tinubu countless time. It remain for Igbo to show the kind of progressiveness we have displayed in Yoruba land. Let them get rid of their own cabal rather than obsession with Tinubu. What a Yoruba man don't understand is that Igbo hate any administration where Yoruba are prominent.

The reason Yorubas are being dragged into it is because Yorubas have been mocking Igbos since 2015 Goodluck lost to Buhari, calling Igbos all sorts of demeaning names, to the extent they even celebrated publicly when Nigerian army went to Southeast to kill unarmed IPOB protesters for exercising their constitutional right.

I don't know what Igbos did to Yorubas that made Yorubas hate Igbos so so much when it comes to national politics and affairs.

Yes individullay, Igbos and Yorubas relate well but when it comes to national politics, national issue, voting, etc, Yorubas always love antagonising Igbos .

You don't care about Igbos or Biafra, yet when Igbos talk about their Biafra and how to leave Nigeria in peace, Yorubas will be the first to attack them verbally, etc.

But let Yorubas talk about Odua Republic and watch Igbos give them massive support, these are enough reasons to tell you who is right or wrong in the fight between Igbos and Yorubas.

Since the end of Nigerian civil war with Biafra, Hausa-Fulanis have ruled Nigeria, Yorubas have ruled Nigeria twice; it doesn't matter if its one Yoruba man that ruled twice as military and as civilian President that's his luck, but that's Yoruba slot.

If Yorubas were sensible and fair enough, they ought to throw their weight and support behind Igbo Presidency in 2023 at least to pacify Igbos like OBJ Presidency was used to pacify Yorubas in 1999.

But no, because of Yoruba wickedness, greed and hatred for Igbo, they want to produce another President in 2023, what does that say about the Yoruba tribehuh

Even the North are watching them and laughing at their wickedness and selfishness.

And even if Yorubas are to produce the President in 2023 for any reason at all, how is it even possible for a known political corrupt criminal and godfather like Tinubu to become the President of Nigeria under the watch of every Nigerian that know how Tinubu corruptly pocketed a whole Lagos state and some Yoruba states to the joy of many Yorubashuh

Notorious political criminals and corrupt, greedy, desperate political godfathers like Tinubu hardly win presidential election because everybody know their mission to become President, so Tinubu should return back to his local Yoruba politics where he plays god before they destroy him completely.

To become Nigeria's President, you must come with one unheard mantra or be seen as next Messiah not next destroyer or next devil. Check the records of all past and present elected Presidents of Nigeria and see if Tinubu have any unique record to sell him to Nigerianshuh His only unique record is he is a ruthless political godfather, a master in political looting and godfatherism, nothing else. Which sensible Nigerian will support such criminal to become Nigeria's Presidenthuh

Tinubu is the General Overseer the Commander in Chief of Lagos state, a country inside country that's almost richer than Nigeria, yet go to Lagos, it is like a slum, most intra city roads in Lagos are deathtraps, street roads are all gone, infrastructure is dead in Lagos, obtaining Lagos state land occupancy certificate or CofO or whatever call it is a big problem on the Island because Tinubu have huge interest in all lands in Lagos and indirectly dictates when and where CofO is issued to property owners and prospective property buyers, he has turned Lagos to a slum instead of a mega city competing with top global cities, all because of his greed and selfishness, yet Yorubas want such man to become next Nigeria's President, is that not wickednesshuh

Northerners are not as daft as Yorubas think they are, let's watch and see as things unfolds anyway.

PoliticsRe: Clement Onyemelukwe: 'Father Of Electricity’ In Nigeria Died At 86 (Photos) by alfredilly: 9:07am On Jun 23, 2020
kikero:
Most of the grid was expanded in the 1970's...after the war.

Also the reason why our power system does not work is simple. We run it as a socialist enterprise, not as a capitalist enterprise.

Look at GSM. When GSM came to Nigeria, Obasanjo allowed them to exploit us well well. They came, and they charged us heavily for phone call, and bad service (I can recall when I got a repeated call from Lagos from a number I knew not between 9-10 pm in 2004...when I was trying to study for heaven's sake!)..and used the money to build up our structures.

Meanwhile for power, we 1) put it under government control from the word go. 2) charged bills that were kept low for the masses 3) overexpanded the grid for political purposes (people in the rural areas got power) 4) and then most Nigerians refused to pay for power. Between the polticiasation of power, and the fact that it was being not run as a profit making enterprise, the amount of cash needed to make things better wasn't enough.

Infact today, power is not run as a profit making enterprise. Discos and Gencos cannot set prices, prices are set by NBET....which means that all the DISCOS have been losing money since 2014. (and one even gave up in 2018...because they could no longer run at a loss). The grid is overexpanded. Banks and other financing angencies cannot give loans to the power sector. People are refusing to pay for power.

Yes, maybe we should have kept the man in office...but he won't have guaranteed power. The same problems would have happened, because power in Nigeria is not run for profit, and because Nigerians expect power for free.
A very illogical narrative. It wasn't the lack of capital that made our power sector degenerate to rot, it was a disoriented political system that is lacking in vision, will and commitment. Electricity is a social amenity that every citizen deserve to assess regardless of financial, social or political status. Nigerian government, over time continue to derail from their primary role of managing and distributing the nations wealth for the benefit of all, instead we have a nation where inequality had widened considerably over time with a bulk of the wealth at the hands of past and present political leaders.

In fact, your idea of resources distribution is very anti people. You attribute the failure of our power sector to low charges of consumer but fail to consider if the low charges is commensurate with peoples income. Even before the latest privatization, many home default on electricity bill and were subjected to disconnection because they couldn't consistently maintain the allocated bill.

The era of privatization has worsened things completely and this has expose the greed inherent in the system. Disco's now charge exorbitantly for power that wasn't supply. It may surprise you that many homes are abandoning national grid for solar power.

Rather than blaming the hapless masses who has been marginalized in the national scheme of things, why not ask our government what the have done with the billion acrued from oil many in decades. What about the billion that was said to have been invested into power sector but were swept under the carpet. Did you remember how power probe has failed, despite mammoth of evidence regarding misappropriation.?

PoliticsRe: MKO Abiola's "Epetedo Declaration" And The Aftermath (Throwback) by alfredilly: 3:51pm On Jun 12, 2020
kikero:
The truth of the matter is Nigerians, for the most part, betrayed Abiola. When the millitary and their collaborators were deliberately refusing to handover, instead of standing up to them, we got divided along tribal lines, as usual, and let Abacha come and take over., for another five years of suffering.

The point is, most Nigerians did not consider democracy worth dying for. Maybe it is because we are a poor country, and if you get shot by the Mopol , who looks after your loved ones, but the truth is, we think that democracy only benefits the winner and his immediate family, not the nation as a whole. That's why most of us just sat down and watched as Abiola fought alone, with some 'mad' people for his mandate.

Even now, Nigerians don't get why we have to work towards a democratic government, which is why some 21 years after we got rid of our army rulers, we are still complaining of bad governance. Even now, the opposition to Buhari is just as sectional as the oppositon to GEJ was. Very few people are opposed to Buhari because he is not running the country well, most oppose him because of sectional or 'what they can benefit from'

Even now, people are arguing for restructuruing or secession based on what they will benefit, not on fairness or justice.
Not in those days. Hope was high for good governance. Most of your point are valid though. That is the Nigeria we now find ourselves. I witnessed that era, though a young boy, but military truncate the hope of a return to democracy.

If you want more pictures about everything listed in the main post, i can send you more. Just name it. The few pictures i post does not cover all the achievements of the Governor. Infact, there are still more achievement that were not mentioned over there.

Also, If the past Governments in Ondo State had give attention to Ore the way Aketi has given the town the attention it deserve within the past 3 and half years, It would have developed far more than this. The past governors in Ondo State had promised to develop Ore but all the promises yielded no result until Aketi came on board. Within 3 and half years of Aketi, Ore has gotten a flyover and a Functional Industrial Hub. I bet you don't know about the Industrial hub. It's called Ondo-Linyi Hub. (Read the last section of the achievements). By the time the Industrial Hub realised its full potential, It will turn around the economic activities of the town boost the economy of the State. Aketi is building a state for generations to come.
First let me put it to you that I wasn't born yesterday. I'm above the age of 30 and I've been to places, even if it's few by some standard. Being familiar with my state shouldn't be in the debate. The introduction of tarred road network to the Ilaje local government has eased the connect of river rine community to the rest of the state. Infact, the Kilometer of road contracted across the entire Ilaje local government surpassed what the last two mediocre governor has contracted in the last 12 years.

I have to bite back tears while reading this. Both Mimiko and Akeredolu had set Ondo backward. Mimiko laid the foundation of mediocrity and unfortunately Aketi is consolidating it. Ondo state is too big to be described by ten pictures highlighting a governor performance. These are falsified and exaggerated list to deceive the unsuspecting masses, knowing fully well that most people won't see beyond there locality.

Aketi administrative style is patterned after Mimiko who spent eight years committing to populist project that has no significant impart on the people. 80 percent of his infrastructural project were building of market across the 18 local government, building of bus stop shed and painting them while leaving many road untarred. The few roads he claimed to construct were no longer than 200 metre. He pride himself on decorating the project of his predecessor Olusegun Agagu and presenting them as his own. However, Mimiko biggest undoing was the neglect of education sector. Yes, he build a few primary school structure across the eighteen local government which he termed mega school, but no teacher were employed during his eight years term. The primary school are now abandoned while the building are used for other purpose in some local government. The case of Secondary school is pathetic. No single mention. Teacher weren't employed as structure continue to decay.

Akeredolu now taking mentorship from Mimiko and this is no hearsay. They have forged a close rapport and Mimiko has turned his closest confidant despite being of opposing party.

All the above project are synonymous to gimmick Mimiko employed to secured his second term. Non is really impactful in anyway. Take Ore interchange for instance, this was a media hype road not longer than 200 metre in total. Ore two is abandon despite it's size and burstling population with 98 percent of the road untarred and unconstructed. There are just two public secondary school in th town too.

The industrial hub is only decorative. Mimiko used the same Ore industrial pack to steal money and left nothing their. Aketi is embarking on same

The two few primary school block here are probably not more than that in reality. Is this worth grorifying?

Many of the listed project here has never left the stage of proposal four almost for year and here Aketi is counting them as performance.

Human capital development under this administration is zero. What has happened to the basic education in the state? The primary and secondary education are the most crucial in child life, yet no teacher has been employed in the state for close to 12 years despite succession of retirement. Agagu was the last government to conduct a well publicized employment.

It is criminal for anyone to throw Araromi-Ibeju lekki road in our face as Aketi achievement when in effect nothing has commenced here.

I stay in Ondo state too and I can corroborate it that the performance is not as impressive as the picture make us to believe. There is more to the state than 10 pictures depicting a governor performance. Take Ore interchange for instance, this does not change the fact that the town remain on of the most deprived and abandoned city in Nigeria despite it's location and bursttling population. The place only boast of two public secondary school. Over 98 percent of the roads are untarred and abandon .
