SLS has truly disappointed me today

He is talking of exchange rate and the government absrobing it angry

why would the exchange rate affect price of petrol in Nigeria if we have our refinery ?

What is SLS talking about ?

@alj_harem

There is no way anyone will like to invest in refinery at the current low subsidized rate. The system needs subsidy remocal to entice private sectors participation. Govt has no business in refineries building, they can only hold equity in it for security.
Would there be subsidy if refinaries are working ?

The investors would NOT NEED SUBSIDIES PAID to them if they have there own refinary because the cost of refining 1 barrel of oil is far less than 5 dollars thus the profit made would make subsidy insignificant.

Moreover it is the job of the government to build refinaries not Private investors.
PoliticsRe: Removal Of Petroleum Subsidy: In Whose Interest? Live by aljharem3: 11:16am On Dec 22, 2011
Ivory coast and south africa are the only countries with refining capacity.

If you had the money, would you invest in a refinery selling fuel at less than 50% of the cost of production?
What cost of production. Don't let Iweala lie to you

the cost of refining One barrel of oil is less than 5 dollars Fact !!!!

I have a friend from aramco the largest saudi araba oil company
PoliticsRe: Removal Of Petroleum Subsidy: In Whose Interest? Live by aljharem3: 10:56am On Dec 22, 2011
Iweala should shut her mouth angry angry

No one is saying subsidy should not be removed. ALL WE ARE ASKING FOR IS FOR REFINERIES TO REFINE OUR OIL before the subsidy is removed

This woman is comparing Nigeria to Libya Saudi Arabia etc when these countries have their own refineries

Who does she think she is telling those B.S. Does she think everyone is silly ?

telling use about cost of fuel higher in Nigeria than in Saudi, Madam it is because they have aramco oil which has refineries all over there country angry

well he announced publicly that his name is."I" Mr Good-luck EBELE AZIKAIWE Jonathan is the president of federal republic of Nigeria, igbo s never asked him to answer our name,it was his choice, not only that we need a change of hand.We want minorities to feel belonging in the union.
Others have tried, and still the country keep falling more into the abyss,
and you think yorubas and Hausas don't want "minorities" to be in the union ?

Majority of our presidents are from the middle belt

Last election dele momodou was from edo state along side sherkua vp

Oluremi is itsekiri, miniter for lagos slot is from edo state. etc

ak47mann, you have no point, but it is alright, the topic was opened in april it is december now. cool

Did it not start before the civil war? Didn't Azikiwe make a comment about the Igbo people not letting themselves be dominated by others but to dominate others?
Which is better: to dominate or to try to live at peace with others?
of course, that is why I said it is ignorance and self deceit

Even way before the civil war, zik did not help the yoruba igbo relationship at all. Thanks to Zik of Onitsha aka Africa

He is and was part of the problem that lead to the civil war and the way the country is today.

But to tell you the truth, Zik is just one man out of millions of Igbos and thus, we can not say he represents evey single Igbo person.

Same with Awolowo, but they don't understand that.

What a shame, I am sorry to tell you but you would still receive more insults from them both on Nairaland and any other forum on the internet  grin grin grin grin grin grin Egbon, ma binu grin grin grin

but of course, they don't discuss the issue with non-igbos outside because they don't want to be seen as bigots. wink

A toll gate can always be removed but the infrastruture would foreve remain there even after fashola and tiunbu die for a 200 years

the bridge would still stand

Would it not be better for PDP to build the second Niger bridge NOOOOWWWWW before it collapse and kill thousands of people ?

Would it not be better for PDP to build us our roads and bridges and be collecting their silly toll fee ?

One revolution can remove the toll gates aka touts but no revolution can build a road or a bridge

I admit that I've come across lots of nice Igbo people, and I'm not going to argue about who is more gentle. Why is it that most of the insulting responses have been from some Igbo Nairalanders?
Because of the civil war. Yes see, once any Igbo person reads up about the civil war, he generates hate for Awolowo and co. Actually, it is due to ignorance and self deceit.

Now Awolowo is considered great in yorubaland and in the heart of every yoruba person. Thus if they insult awolowo, a yoruba person would be quick to insult the Igbo poster back.

Once this is done, then it goes down the tribal line. But sometimes, it is taken too far.

what makes you think he will win?
because of the way Ohaneze campaign last election. It made me wonder they they said it is turn of the Igbos

and apparently, Jonathan changed his name to Azikwe ebele or so and thus they said he was Igbo enough to win their votes.

So I though to myself, Tunde had been replaced by Emeka, would he had won the hearts of Ohaneze just like ebelemi was changed to ebele

Ahj. That i am a pdp man lyk u dnt make me a pro-pdp, i also said it b4, am tired of these men, they keep recycling theirselves. Thats wot i also demand from other parties member, be it ACN or APGA, when they do well, praise them, when they gi wrong criticize them. Fashola is one of the best gov'nors in Nigeria today, if not the best. Another good ones are Akpabio, Okorocha and Chime, even Obi is not doing badly same with kwankwaso.
I am eagerly waiting for 2015, i bliv that the masses will not b decieved again. How will u see a ticket of Fashola/Okorocha thats ACN/APGA? Lets see
thank you. na gode dan uwana, sorry I got the impression that you were taking sides with PDP but thanks for the explanation. Whether roachas o or sanusi or fashola even Buhari again. All I just want to PDP kicked out of the political system.

They have destoryed the country for too long. I would like to smell REAL fresh air (fresh ideas) not the same old promises and failure.

Yes ACN is not way better than PDP but at least they are getting the job done. I like ROachas as well, he is very promising, I am keeping an eye on him as well. smiley

That means u dnt knw me enough, i have been saying it, i dnt see ACN being the party, correct me if am wrong. Reasons:
1. ACN is more like a regional party, which have lil or no followership here in the north, then with d bitterness btw Sw n SE, i dnt knw d kind of followership it enjoys there.
2. ACN lacks internal democracy, which will hinder there spread and acceptability nationwide.
3. ACN is more like a one man party, Tinubu, just like APGA and Ojukwu.
And so others.

U have the right to belong to any party of your choice, but what am saying is, u also criticize dem when they go wrong.

Bros, i am actually a PDP man, but these guys have disappointed me so much, but the truth be told, there is still not a viable opposition in this country, they r regional parties:
1. ACN - SW
2. CPC - North
3. APGA - SE
4. LP - part of SW.
If all these parties can come together as one, to form a viable opposition and present a relatively acceptable and 'sellable' candidate, then we are in business.
CPC, ACN AND APGA are not regional parties

APGA would win parts of lagos next election Insha Allah

ACN is popular in the north. Sokoto and Borno to be precise. I know Alhaji Garba is still in ACN sokoto

CPC was about to win parts of the middle belt

Yes ACN looks like tinubu part but APGA is NOT Ojukwu's party

dan uwana , PDP is not a party that has shown any good light at all in Nigeria.

ALLLLLLL THE CROOKS THAT Destroyed NIGERIA ARE STILL IN PDP till today. Ranging from IBB, Atiku, ciroma, Uba, edwin clark, femi, OBJ,you name it

although they are all enemies politically speaking but they are all friends when it comes to stealing for the country.

Lets kick out PDP !!!!! I am also a PDP man but the corruption is toooo much

Yes Fashola and tinubu are stealling for toll gate

BUT AT LEAST THEY HAVE BUILT THE BRIDGE AND THE DEVELOPMENT WOULD NOT LEAVE THE STATE (TOLL GATE CAN ALWAYS BE REMOVED BUT THE BRIDGE WOULD ALWAYS BE THERE FOR AT LEAST 100 YEARS AFTER TINUBU AND FASHOLA)

Please aboki, don't be a pro-corruption party

The Niger-bridge is getting weaker by the day, Is it untill it collase that thousands of easterners die before PDP would get it into their head to build a new one ?

Must people die before the bridge is complete ?

A project that started 2008 around the same time fashola started his own bridge

today fashola is almost done with his which is longer that the niger bridge while PDP and their crooks are still thinking on how to go about it.

Would it not be better to build things and tax and collect toll gate than not building at all and stealing money ?

I rather allow fashola to steal my money but the development is there for me to use than PDP steal my money and there is no visible development.

Ordinary ORE road is still killing people

Lokoja nko ?

I can keep naming. Even refinary in the 10 largest oil exported is a problem. cry
