The question is if you can  truthfully testify that if your husband brings another woman into the same household you toiled to build with him, you will not find it offensive. Good points there. Let me tell you the truth with these points:

1. There is no man no matter how pious who will not come across women.

2. If a man then decides that he would like to marry a particular woman, there are several people he can approach that may act as go-betweens without the need for adultery before marriage.

3. The man's first wife knows that in Islam, a husband may marry up to 4 wives provided he can meet the set requirements.

Hence, a Muslim man initiating marriage with a woman when he has one wife already is not cheating.

Do some Muslim men fall into adultery instead of the process highlighted above? Yes! But that is due to their weakness or ignorance and not because of Islam. I am sure you know Islam abhors Adultery whilst recognizing Monogamy and Polygamy within its strict rules.

A 38-year old man and representative of United State of America, USA, Chaplain fellowship, Ohio, Columbus, in Lagos, southwest, is currently detained at Gowon Estate Divisional Headquarters for allegedly using the photograph of a traditional ruler in Egbeda, Oba Samson Balogun of Egbeda, to deceive and extort money from Nigerians who were desperate to study theology abroad.
The suspect, Apostle Kehinde Oso, a native of Ikogosi, Ekiti, is married and has two children.
Police sources revealed that he was arrested for using he photograph which he took with Oba Balogun and a foreigner to dupe Nigerians.
In his confessional statement to the police, Osho said: “I am a revivalist and humanitarian evangelist. I went to Federal University of Technology, Akure. I also went to Theological school, CIBM, Bible College, Ibadan and later Christ Divinity College, Cindinco, Ilesha, Osun State, for my diploma in theology.
“Last year, I went to U.S.A. for Chaplain Fellowship because I was winning souls for Christ. When I was returning to Nigeria, I was told to create an awareness of Royal Angels Chaplain Corps which would be inaugurated in November.
“When I explained to Oba Egbeda about it, he gave me a self-contained apartment. But the place was not yet completed. I later moved to a hall because it has an office where I can attend to people and counsel them. I do not see anything wrong in taking a picture with the prominent traditional ruler and the foreigner and showing it to people that they are friends.

“Yes, I collected money from many people. I did not spend it. I sent it to U.S.A for purchase of uniforms to wear in November as members of the association.”
Reacting to the false claim, Oba Balogun said: “It was a blatant lie. When I was in the United Kingdom for medical check up, I received a phone call that one chaplain was sleeping in my palace and I instructed my people to send him out because I do not know him. Besides, the palace is meant for my visitors.
“I did not give him a self-contained apartment to live in. It was when I hosted a foreigner that he took the picture with us. He was now using it to dupe people that we were friends. He is never my friend.”

lIt costs the Federal Government N200 to feed a prisoner in Nigeria per day, the Controller General of Prisons, Mr Biodun Odundipe, has said.

He added that prisoners were fed three times a day and that it cost about N4 million to feed about 900 inmates at the Maximum Prisons, Kirikiri, Lagos and about N15 million to feed about 2,300 inmates at the Medium Prisons, also at Kirkiri in Lagos.

Mr Odundipe, who appeared on Monday, before the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, revealed that there were 49,000 inmates in Nigerian prisons nationwide, but that 38,000 out of this figure were awaiting trials, saying that it was the figure of the awaiting trials that gave the impression of congestion in the prisons.

He said the congestions were experienced in Port Harcourt, Kaduna and Kano prisons, adding that where a prison’s capacity was 800, one would find it accommodating over 3,000 inmates, whereas in Ogoja prisons with capacity for 400 inmates, only 100 inmates were there and in Ikot Ekpene with capacity for 300 inmates, but harboured just 120 inmates.

Ogundipe, who was contributing to the Senate Public Hearing on a bill for an Act to transfer convicted offenders, said Nigerian prisons had the capacity to admit prisoners who might be transferred from Britain and other countries.

I am from a polygamous family and we are one of the happiest and coherent units you can wish to belong to? What about that?

As for me I don't have any plans to do polygamy,(though never say never) but I will never speak against it nor discourage whoever opts to do, but can remind him to think over it very well and weigh the cons and pros viz a viz his capacity.

You are a product of polygamous home and there is no doubt that the major players can work amicably and make life easy for all the members but what you fail to address is the emotional impact of polygamy on the women involved. How did wife no 1 feel about her husband bringing in wife no 2 and so on?. I am sure you don't have the answer because you can't speak for them but I assure you that one must be disgruntled by that arrangement at a point in her marital life.

Are muslim women wired different emotionally from Christian, Hindu, pagan, etc women?. Where is the jealousy ratio?. How about finances because majority of the polygamist men in Nigeria are in financial comatose but they manage to "herd" their harem. As a matter of fact, it is the women who toil to provide food for them. Which makes me wonder whether these muslim men marry multiple wives to insure they will always have food on their table till the end of time.

He will be getting nicer things, quality food, etc from the richer wife while the broke wives live in penury with their children.

According to the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Malam Lamido Sanusi, 71,000 Nigerian students in Ghana currently pay an annual tuition of N155Billion to Ghana. Meanwhile the whole government budget for all Federal universities in Nigeria annually is a N121Billion.

The CBN Governor was drawing attention to the on-going serious capital flight from Nigeria.

Doesn't this call for a sober reflection? They only mentioned Ghana, what about the thousands of students in Malaysia (I hear there are so many of them there) in Europe, in India, in the US etc, paying trillions of Naira to get quality education. Meanwhile, you will hardly find foreign students in Nigeria. Obviously there's need to reform the education system in Nigeria. So instead of complaining about money leaving Nigeria, they should do something about improving the quality of education in this country, so parents will stop sending their kids abroad.

[size=14pt]Frustrated HIV Patient Bathes Counsellor With Acid[/size]

On Friday Oct 21, 2011, the most unfortunate thing happened to a nurse at the Rivers State School of Health, Port harcourt. An HIV patient bathed his counsellor and staff of the health institution, Mrs Ibuwari George, in acid.

The attacker (a man in his forties) had scheduled an appointment with his counsellor that day, for further counselling on the effects of the drugs he was taking, and not suspecting any ulterior motive, Mrs George, who is a counsellor for HIV infected mothers and children agreed to the session. A few minutes into the meeting, the dying HIV patient, without provocation, poured a whole tin of acid on the unsuspecting nurse.


Prior to this unholy visit, the patient was said to have been calling and complaining of same feeling to which the innocent nurse had counseled him to keep faith with the prescribed drugs. He had earlier been certified sick with very low blood count after a test was conducted on him which prompted his being placed on drugs for boosting etc.

And since he was placed on blood boosting drugs, he was always calling and keeping his counselor posted on the developments but on this particular call, this wicked agent of death seeking for treatment of HIV infection, rather than make do with the nurse’s usual advice and encouragement went gagger, discharging a whole tin of acid on the unsuspecting nurse who is still hospitalized and writhing in pains.

Targeting his victim, the patient was said to have waited patiently until Mrs Ibuwari Geroge came back from her lunch break and while explaining to her how he had fared so far, suddenly opened a bag he carried and brought out a tin which he instantaneously discharged on her and which turned out to be acid.

Mrs Ibuwari shattered at this point, had a hell of raw deal with her clothes and parts of body torn. Largely affected were her chest and lower parts of her breasts.

In the midst of the commotion aroused, staff and other visitors attracted to the scene descended on the blood thirsty HIV patient and would have lynched him to death but for the quick intervention of rescuers.

He has since been handed over to the police.
