I HAVE SENT THE JD TO UR MAIL BOX, I CLAIMED 8YRS WORKING EXPERIENCE BUT IT WAS CUT DOWN TO 4YRS COS THE JOB TITLE COMPUTER NETWORKS AND SYSTEMS ENGINEER IS NOT CLOSELY RELATED TO THE COURSE I STUDIED ELECTRICAL ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING, SO IT MEANS I AM GETTING 5 POINTS FOR MY EXPERIENCE AND 15POINTS FOR MY QUALIFICATION. IF YOU CHECK ACS SKILL ASSESSMENT GUIDELINES FOR APPLICANTS YOU WILL UNDERSTAND BETTER
Thanks, i understand that part very well...

Hello all, I have been reading this thread from the beginning and I feel I have to commend everyone who has been contributing on this thread.. I need your guidance and advice, please hear me out as I ask these questions..

I have a Bsc in geology (2.2) from Adekunle Ajasin university (AAUA) ondo state and also a Msc. in Petroleum Geology from UI.

I have close to 2 years pre-Msc.experience and close to 2 years post-Msc work experience both in the field of geology but with different companies

I would love to follow the PR route..
Nominated Occupation will be Geologist on Csol list...
Sponsored states : I saw both Tasmania and SA

Age: 31
English test: Not yet

My Questions

1) I read Vetasess do assess our 4 years degree course from some Nigerian universities as Associate degree, if yes can vetasess use or asses my Msc. and upgrade me to the Bachelor's degree?

Touting your M.Sc will ensure you get Bachelor Degree Grade; However its likely to cost you the 2 years experience Before Certificate was acquired, If you tout your B.sc, you can claim the full 4 years experience which might still be reduced lipsrsealed

2) I major more in petroleum geology, do you think that will fly with Vetasess when it comes to job description or role.. The nominated occupation says "Geologist"..Geology is a wide course
"Closely related Nominations should have u covered on this".......

2) I learnt Tasmanian do ask for a job offer or presence of family member before they can sponsor people, I don't have both, please what can I do?
Yes Tasmania requires JOB OFFER...... you can try to apply offshore (difficult but not impossible)

3) I am yet to write the English test and I understand thie sol/csol list will expire in July with another one coming out, please should I wait to re-strategize?
This is a very personal decision but IMO what won't LIKELY change is ENGLISH TEST, TRANSCRIPT, WORK REFERENCE, If u can try to get hold of these at the moment, trust me, when new SOL/CSOL list comes out, U will only be doing permutation & Combination. ENGLISH TEST IS VALID FOR 2 YEARS

4) cc Bellong I read from one of your post, are you a geologist too or is there any geologist in the house with PR success story that can give me advice best thing to do..

My Piece.....Others please Help clarify further

cc bellong
cc MjlBabajide
cc Mozo
and everyone... thanks

Sure one can get PTA with one-way ticket?
I always thought only on a return ticket only
[s]I Cannot ascertain that for sure though, but the guideline released by CBN didn't mention ticket type.
below is snapshot of the circular..

I'LL try and confirm and post my findings later[/s]

I have confirmed You can use a one way ticket to get PTA.....source UNITYBANK & DIAMOND BANK
Dear Bellong and other Gurus, I have another set of questions:

1. IOM stated that 40Kg baggage allowance is allowed for each adult and children, is this separate from hand luggage that can been put in the luggage compartment of the plane.
2. Does the 40Kg mean one bag or weight can be split into two.

its 40KG each for Madam and Yourself (80KG Total) and it can be distributed into multiple bags (2 or 3 max). however i will advise against having too many bags in other to avoid misplacement and Stress of opening and verifying with immigration

3. Has anyone been successful with getting PTA from the bank using one way relocation flight ticket and PR visa or is this restricted to return trips alone.
According to the CBN CIRCULAR, You can get US$4,000 for yourself and another US$4,000 for Madam, since applicants must be 18years and above, not sure about the kids.

Sorry I'm asking a lot of questions but I no wan miss road as my journey don near

an adage says, "he who asks for directions, cannot miss road" grin grin

Thanks in advance.

@dunsinogundele

Equally you should download the Emirates Mobile App ( grin, it will offer you details about your flight, stop overs, skyrewards on board meal, seat positions and all

Very well Said mamajaz

@duuduu

Time to saddle up and aim for 20 points

That's 70 Points all the way..

duuduu:
Thank you for the response.
I need ur kind advice on this: I have gotten a positive assessment from ACS for computer Network and Systems Engineer, with the look of things I think I can only get 60 points (age:30pts + Experience 5 pts + qualifications 15pts + language 10pts) just like u mentioned, but I noticed that peeps that were granted PR recently got 65pts for the same occupation "computer Network and Systems Engineer". My questions now is should I apply for state nomination so that I can get 65pts or I should lodge my EOi with my 60 points?
What school did u graduate from?

If you are married, you can gain 5 points for partner points, provided she is less than 50, has competent English, positive assessment for an SOL occupation.

Currently 70 point is required for SA state nomination.

Fam, Goodevening Everyone!
It's been a long time I came here. From most of the pages I've been able to read through, I saw success stories and I'm encouraged.

Hearty congratulations to teewhysafe, Hordunayot, Jamson, Bolaobby and those I might have failed to mention who have gotten their Positive assessment, ITA or grant. To those of us who are still trying to get it right, I say, Keep on.

Please, something has been making me feel fear. I haven't seen anyone from Uniben that received a positive assessment. Please is this normal? Has there been a success story that I missed reading? Do you know anyone who has received a positive assessment with a degree from UNIBEN? Please share with me. Thank you.

@unibadan.... Kindly apply the pareto's 80/20 rule in your financial breakdown... That initial 400k/500k is the 20% .....others na the 80%

The Pareto principle (also known as the 80/20 rule, the law of the vital few, or the principle of factor sparsity) states that, for many events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes. ...

FYI FROM BORDER.GOV.AU

http://www.border.gov.au/News/Pages/global-visa-and-citizenship-processing-times.aspx

Visa and citizenship processing times available online

New global visa and citizenship processing times

Global visa and citizenship processing times will be available online for the first time from 13 March.

As part of the Department’s ongoing efforts to improve client information, the publishing of current visa and citizenship processing times will give you more meaningful data about the visa or citizenship product of your choice.
The latest processing times will replace the previously published service standards to give you a better idea of how long it is taking to process a particular visa subclass, stream, or citizenship application.

Processing times will be updated monthly to reflect current caseloads and processing pressures, and will be available for most visa subclasses and citizenship application types. We do not publish processing times for some subclasses, as they are closed to new entrants, or capped and queued.
To ensure that your application falls within the published processing times, you must lodge a complete application. Your application will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, and actual processing times can vary due to individual circumstances, including:
whether you have lodged a complete application and included all necessary supporting documents
how promptly you respond to requests for additional information
how long it takes to perform required checks
how long it takes to receive additional information from external parties, particularly in relation to health, character, national security, and Assurance of Support requirements
the number of places available in the migration programme
surges in demand and peak periods.
