to be honest with you if you check the whole thing its like the whole ogun state is a delivering woman who is put to bed and she gave birth to baby lagos cheesy cheesy
True that! grin More than 90% of the land mass of what is known as Lagos State today was carved out of the current Ogun State land mass which was located in the then Western Region governed by the iconic Chief Obafemi Awolowo, GCFR, SAN.

The Ikeja GRA, WEMABOD Estate in Ikeja, and the Ikeja Industrial Estate (and other Lagos Industrial Estates in Ilupeju, Apapa, Isolo, Iganmu, Matori), were created by Awolowo in the 1950s to the 1960s.

Agege, Ikeja, Epe, Ikorodu, Ibeju-Lekki, Mushin, Ilupeju, Isolo, Ejigbo, Badagry, Orile Iganmu, Amuwo Odofin, Ojo, Egbeda, Alakuko, Isheri, Magodo, Apapa, Ketu, etc, were governed in the
Old Western Region under the iconic Action Group Party leaders and associates until 1966.

Then on May 27, 1967, General Yakubu Gowon created 12 new states including Lagos State for the indigenes of the 12 new states, after consulting with the kings or Obas and indigenes.

Lagos Island (NOT Lagos State) was the former administrative capital of the British colonists/Nigeria from 1914 to 1991.

I read recently that history has been re-introduced into all Lagos State schools. These facts above have to be taught so as to stop the falsification of Lagos history by ethnic bigots and/or simpletons here on NL and by ignorant non-Lagos indigenes online and offline. Period.

thanks for that map that is below . i find it helpful to see where odogbolu and sagamu etc are positioned relative to lagos
Oh yeah... that map of Lagos State that I attached is very insightful as it clearly shows that Ijebuland
extends right from Lagos State into Ogun State.

Ijebus are Lagos State indigenes (they own the entire Ibeju-Lekki, Epe LGA, and Ikorodu LGA). Odogbolu and
Sagamu are in Ogun State just right at the boundary with Lagos State.

Aworiland extends from Lagos to Ogun States too...hence Awori-Yorubas are also indigenes of both
Lagos and Ogun States just like the
Ijebus/Remos.

Desmond Olusola Elliot is from Olowogbowo area of Lagos Island and paternally he is Yoruba. Olowogbowo is one of the settlements or epicenters of liberated Yoruba returnees from Freetown, Sierra Leone who first arrived in the early to the late 1800s. Many of the Yorubas were of Oyo, Egba, Ijesa and Ijebu descents. Many of them had

TravelRe: International Travels Airfare Rise 282% To N2.1m Per Trip by AlphaTaikun: 11:34pm On Aug 16, 2022
okeysoninv:
By Prince Okafor
International travels traffic from Nigeria has been hit with a major blow, as foreign exchange, blocked foreign airlines funds, amongst others have pushed the price of airfare tickets to 282 per cent in one year.

This development has impacted summer travels negatively following the dynamics in the nation’s economy as passengers pay between N2.1 million to N2.3 million for a round trip outside Nigeria on economy ticket.

Saturday Vanguard gathered that, currently, Nigeria has Bilateral Air Services Agreements with over 78 countries. From Nigeria, air travellers can fly directly to many of the world’s business centres such as London, Paris, Frankfurt, New York, Johannesburg, Atlanta, Amsterdam, Dubai and Jeddah to mention a few.

With the attainment of America’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) International Aviation Safety Assessment (IASA) Category One Certification, Nigerian registered carriers can now fly directly into the United States of America (USA)
However, a survey by Saturday Vanguard showed that an economy class ticket for a round trip from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos to the George Bush International Airport Houston, IAH, which was sold between N500,000 to N550,000 in 2021, is now sold at N2.1 million.
Also, a round trip on an economy class ticket from Nigeria to London Heathrow Airport, which is less than 2, 000 pounds, is now 3,000 pounds and above. A round trip from Lagos to Johannesburg, South Africa, now sells for N500,000.
A breakdown of the charges that make up the total cost of an air ticket using the United States as a case study, includes Airfare, which varies, U.S. transportation tax, $38.20, September 11th security fee, $5.60, international surcharge, $400.00, U.S. APHIS user fee, $3.96, U.S. Customs user fee, $5.99, U.S. Immigration user fee, $7.00, Nigeria airport service charge, $100.00, Nigeria security charge, $20, U.S. passenger facility charge, $4.5.
Passenger Laments skyrocketing price
Meanwhile, in a chat with Saturday Vanguard, a passenger in Lagos who preferred anonymity, told Saturday Vanguard, that he had just come back from the United Kingdom, and wanted to change his return ticket date and they charged him N546,000.
“Following this development, I contacted my travel agent to get an economic ticket from Lagos to London, to understand the rationality, I was amazed when he told me that it would cost me N1.9 million.
“I exaggeration I screamed, this is out of this world, I asked him why, and he gave me many reasons among which he disclosed that the issue of aviation fuel, along with the fact that airlines cannot repatriate their money back to their country. Right now they are been forced to buy an air ticket in dollars.”
But in a swift reaction, the Principal Managing Partner, Avaero Capital Partners, Sindy Foster told Saturday Vanguard that, “At the original time of booking the fares were lower, as they probably did not take into account the five factors above. It’s not the change of date which they have charged N546, 000 for, it’s the difference between fare costs from the time of booking to now, which is why the apparent ‘change’ fare is so now.
Similarly, a former Military Commandant at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, Group Capt John Ojikutu lamented that the aviation industry is collapsing because of debts and it is affecting the foreign airline.
He said: Foreign airlines cannot take their money back to their country and if foreign airlines stop operations here there will be a huge catastrophe. We acquire 80 per cent minimum of our earnings from commercial aviation from foreign airlines.
“If they cannot repatriate their money back to their country then there will be a problem. I just got a message from the House of Assembly, asking the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to return their money so they can change themselves through the parallel market. There is more dollar there today than in the CBN. “If they have to change it, then you will have to pay for it and that is why the air ticket has gone up. There is no magic about what is happening.”
Factors responsible for the hike
While highlighting the factors driving the surge in the price of international flights, Foster, noted that, seasonal demand, plus pent-up post covid demand has driven up the price of international tickets. According to her, “During covid many airlines provided vouchers to passengers in respect of flight cancellations, these vouchers had expiry dates in 2022/2023 in many cases. She said: “This summer was the first summer where covid restrictions had been relaxed or removed entirely. So this year, many people planned overseas trips and destination weddings amongst others.
“Also, aviation fuel has increased dramatically over the last few months. To try to claw back some of this increase airlines have added fuel surcharges to the cost of tickets which have pushed up the cost of tickets.
“There are also increased airport charges to claw back some of the losses during the covid lockdowns and the subsequent lack of passenger demand created by varying vaccination and testing requirements between countries, airports increased charges to airlines, some of which will have resulted in higher fares for passengers.
“Nigeria owes Foreign Airlines over $450 million in unremitted revenue. To compensate for this situation the airlines have removed the lower class fares from their tickets. Airlines are forced to source funds on the parallel market, so any fare which would not generate the anticipated ticket price when converted to dollars was apparently removed.
“Also, there are Forex differentials, the Naira has depreciated against the dollar. So all fares will be higher in terms of Naira required to purchase the tickets which will have originated from dollar cost/revenue calculations.
“Until the above is no longer the case the situation will remain as it is.”

The new coin can be used in some shops
Zimbabwe's central bank has launched gold coins in an effort to help curb soaring inflation amid a slump in the country's currency.
The central bank's main interest rate was more than doubled this month to 200% after the annual rate of inflation rose above 190%.
Scroll to continue with content
Each coin will be priced at the international market rate for an ounce of gold plus 5% for production costs.
As of Friday, an ounce was worth about $1,724 (£1,435).
It will be possible use the coins in shops, if they have enough change, according to the governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, John Mangudya.
The coin is called "Mosi-oa-Tunya" which means "The Smoke Which Thunders" and refers to Victoria Falls, on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia.
Zimbabwe's dollar slumped in value against major currencies this year.
The country still remembers the economic chaos under the late Robert Mugabe, who ruled for almost four decades.
Hyperinflation forced it to abandon the Zimbabwe dollar in 2009, and it opted instead to use foreign currencies, mainly the US dollar.
During the worst of the crisis the government stopped publishing official inflation figures but one estimate put the inflation rate at 89.7 sextillion percent year on year in mid-November 2008.
At the time, the one hundred billion Zimbabwe dollar bank note was seen as an emblem of the nation's economic collapse.
The local currency was reintroduced a decade later but it has rapidly lost value again.
Foreign AffairsRe: FEARS As China Sends 22 Fighters Jets And 6 Warships To Patrol Taiwan Strait by AlphaTaikun: 11:22pm On Aug 16, 2022
DAVIDMOE:
After Nancy Pelosi, another U.S. congressional delegation made an unannounced visit to China’s Taiwan island on Saturday. China sent 22 fighters and 6 warships to carry out regular patrols around Taiwan on Sunday.

OPINION: U.S. politicians have used the visit to appear tough to Beijing and get votes for their midterm elections. But at what a cost?

To Taiwan, such visits by U.S. politicians are NOT helping their “partner”, but consuming it. Beijing could easily tighten their military blockade or economic sanctions to Taipei, with Beijing now taking an upper hand on both economy and military strength in the Taiwan Strait.

To the world, if the U.S. provocation triggers another Ukraine-like military action in China’s Taiwan region, the 70 billion people on the planet, including ordinary American people, will face more soaring inflation, higher food prices, worse energy crisis, etc. Only Wall Street, arms dealers and warmongering U.S. politicians could profit from it, at the cost of the people.

To the U.S. politicians, visits to Taiwan may result in Beijing’s sanctions against themselves and their direct family members, like how China sanctioned Pelosi and her family after her trip by banning them from trading with Chinese firms. Cutting business with China these days means cutting profit.

Pelosi said “Who cares” to China’s sanctions against her (maybe because she could get more profit by provoking wars). But what she didn’t say was she also doesn’t care about the interest of Taiwan or her own voters.

All these costs are being paid because in today’s U.S. elections, appearing tough to the world’s No. 2 economy, without a rational calculation of consequences, can naturally gain votes. With this being said, is it safe to say that the U.S. voting system, which is claimed by some to be the “model of global democracy”, is in reality the “root of global trouble”?

Asiwaju Tinubu deserves your vote because he is the best among them.

Asiwaju Tinubu towers over all of them in terms of competency and illustrous records of feats in public service
Please vote for Asiwaju Tinubu.

Asiwaju Tinubu is extremely competent and capable to lead Nigeria to greater heights. He is an excellent experienced public administrator and a Patriot to the core.

Asiwaju Tinubu is a brilliant visionary leader who will keep his promise to take Nigeria to greater heights.

I may need to take you down memory lane of his account of stewardship in public office in case you do not know or trying to ignore the significance of Asiwaju's sterling performance in office as a reason he is being rewarded with support today.

As the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Tinubu recovered what is now called Eko Atlantic from the raging Atlantic ocean Lagos Bar beach coast line flooding (for decades that problem even some of the more developed nations explain away as climate change problems) defied all solutions by FG and the highbrow strategic Victoria Island was deteriorating fast with businesses, embassies, hotels etc exiting VI in droves. During that time, the Atlantic ocean flooding reach the fringes of Ozumba after the flood completely take over Adetokunbo Ademola. Lagos State Government under the brilliant , resourceful and hardworking Asiwaju Tinubu solved that herculean challenge and today, VI is back to its glory.

It was Asiwaju Tinubu that brought back the Lagos Central Business District and Broad street commercial nerve centre of Nigeria back to life after it was abandoned, it's Asiwaju Tinubu who built major roads from Oregun to Lawanson to Igando LASU to as far as Badagry etc.

Asiwaju Tinubu is the one who fixed the horrible waste problem we had in Lagos and that LASTMA and BRT you see were created by Asiwaju. Asiwaju Tinubu was the one who got Lagos State to be part of the owners of Econet and unlike Delta State where the shares were sold and funds pocketed, Lagos State Shares were warehoused with professional investors in the state investment agency called Ibile holdings.

Asiwaju Tinubu increased bursaries to students of Lagos State origin (NULASS) and made public schools free for all Lagosians regardless of your tribe, religion or political party affiliation after his administration had successfully returned missionary schools to their original owners( other states later copied Lagos) . It was during his tenure that Ikeja General Hospital became a teaching Hospital, upgraded most of the clinics to General Hospitals giving free health to the 5 years and below and Lagosians of 65 years and above age group. .

The fund that BRF used to quickly build infrastructures were the LGA funds withheld by Pa Obasanjo and despite that Asiwaju Tinubu never owed salaries.
When the purchase of FG refineries by Alhaji Dangote was cancelled by HE Yardua, Alhaji Aliko Dangote ran to Asiwaju Tinubu after most state governments and governors in the SS gave Dangote a cold shoulder. Today, through the assistance Asiwaju Tinubu gave Aliko Dangote, Dangote Refinery is taking off to help us stop the petrol subsidy killing our naira and public finances.

Asiwaju Tinubu is loyal to those who paid the ultimate price for our democracy and today heroes like Bagauda Kalto, Pa Alfred Rewane, Pa Abraham Adesanya etc are immortalized in Lagos . One of the most memorable achievements of Asiwaju Tinubu for me was helping to stop the blood letting and recurring Hausa-Yoruba/OPC war in Idi Araba and Agege. Those hellish period of unrest defied even the effort of past military state administrators of Lagos but Asiwaju Tinubu was able to solve it.

That Lagos State Government civil service is regarded as the best in Nigeria is due to the hardwork Asiwaju Tinubu did to reform it, created Tutors-Generals offices, improved harmonized pay structure, best pension scheme for civil servants etc.
I can go on and on to educate you on the legacies of Asiwaju Tinubu still standing till today as my reasons for my confidence in Asiwaju Tinubu sir/ma

That's why my appeal goes to you my fellow patriotic Nigerians to please vote for Asiwaju Tinubu.
Please vote for Asiwaju Tinubu.

Nigerians Boo Obasanjo On Emirates Flight
By Fon Christopher Achobang

Former Nigerian three-term president, Olusegun Obasanjo was booed on an Emirates flight 783 from Dubai to Lagos on 14 November 2013.

Obasanjo was returning from a business trip in Dubai when his countrymen gave him an unfriendly welcome on the flight with boos and invective.

The Nigerians had been waiting on the cue to board when they were asked to make way for the First Class premium passenger. Eager to board “sharp sharp” (hurriedly) the Nigerian way, the Economy class passengers protested that after Obasanjo took them hostage for over 10 years as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, they were not so ready to step aside to make way for him, to control them from the “passenger seat”.

Obasanjo first came to power in Nigeria through a military Coup d’Etat on 13 February 1976. He handed over power to Shehu Shagari on 1 October 1979 following democratic elections after two years in power. He went into private life as a farmer and traditional chief in Ogun State. He came back from retirement and contested elections winning twice to become civilian President from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007.

Nigerians blame him for most of their woes as they claim he is the Godfather of all Nigerian Presidents since the 1980s. They see his weight behind most past and present presidents of Nigeria. They have not also forgiven him for raiding and burning down the house of Fela Kuti, the late popular highlife musician. Fela and his family were beaten and raped and his mother, political activist Funmilayo Ransome Kuti was thrown out of a window to her death.

Ikechuku, one of the passengers from Enugu, returning from a business trip to India, said Nigeria needed to fight a war before democracy; human rights and governance would come to the country. He said the three regional divide of the country represented in a Y is a bane that could only be corrected by a war. Merit will only be respected in Nigeria when that happens.

Nkechi, another passenger on the Emirates flight touted him that Nigeria has been undergoing a perennial warfare since the Biafra war. Ikechuku waived her aside and said that was a political war with just one region, Biafra fighting the rest of the country.

Obasanjo did not settle on his seat in the First Class. He stood up and went round the plane as if to test his popularity.

Nobody stood up to challenge the political juggernaut of Nigerian politics, nor did they try to stop him.

I asked Obasanjo, from my seat, if he was not afraid of being assaulted by an irate passenger. He was leaning over me screening my face as if looking for a lost friend.

He showed me a Rastafarian walking behind him saying, “He takes care of me.” He also added that he is a survivor of many attempts on his life and was not scared of a few boos.

Obasanjo escaped death on 13 February 1976 when Army Colonel Dimka targeted him and General Murtala Muhammed in a Coup d’Etat. Murtala was killed but Obasanjo and Theophilus Danjuma, chief of army staff survived. Obasanjo was appointed Head of State by the Supreme Military Council.

Obasanjo spoke out against human rights abuses during the dictatorship of Sani Abacha between 1993 and 1998. He was arrested and imprisoned for his participation in an aborted coup. He was only released when Abacha died suddenly on 8 June 1998.

Obasanjo believed since he became a born-again Christian in prison, no weapon fashioned against him shall prosper. The bodyguard with the looks of a joker was a resolute buffer between the former President and any attacker. A middle aged man stood up to follow the former president and he was promptly barred from getting too close.

Former African presidents usually feel uneasy going around on commercial carriers. Some retired with private jets, and if allowed the luxury of a retirement flew on them. For most, contemplating retirement and returning to civilian life was unnerving. Such presidents will prefer to die in power than deprive themselves of the luxuries attached to the presidency.

Probably conscious of the uneasiness of a former president in retirement, Obasanjo provoked a controversy when he planned to revise the constitution to allow him to run for a third and fourth term. Obasanjo is credited to have ushered in democracy with the 1979 Constitution of the Second Republic styled after the Constitution of the United States of America. Yet the trappings of absolute power blinded this visionary of Nigerian politics to want more than two terms in office and probably a life presidency.

Nkechi intimated that if Obasanjo had appeared like that in an airport in Nigeria, he would have been pelted with rotten eggs.

Emirates flight 783 from Dubai landed at Murtala Mohammed airport in Lagos Nigeria at 12:15 p.m. Obasanjo checked out without any further booing or pelting with rotten eggs as Nkechi had suggested will happen on the Nigerian soi
Bump.

New Generation should Respect and Propagate our Yoruba Culture of being a Great Blessing to Humanity and stop translating the names of Yoruba originally invented Foods and Yoruba Cuisines that has now become internationally popular, to what we don't know.

After all, you buy Pizza, Shawarma and Spaghetti (Italian Names or otherwise) and call it with their Italian names.

So why not let our Akara, Ekuru, Ogi Eko, Efo Riro and Moinmoin bear their original names in peace, so it can tell where it originates from anytime foreigners See or hear about them.

If a friend from the USA Or the UK asks you what you had for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Tell him you had Eba Or Akara, Amala, Ekuru, Efo Riro, etc

And if they don't know it. Let them Google search It. After all, that's also how we(The Africans) read about their cuisines on the internet and try it out by preparation.

Telling them you had bean cake or pap, to me doesn't mean you are exposed and educated. Some people would still make efforts to translate their indigenous names such Ayodele, Adebayo, Olayemi, Bolanle, Fayemi, Olagunju etc to English versions, o lagbara o!
Proudly Yoruba!!!!!!!
Insightful. Even in Bahia and other parts of Brazil and the Caribbean, Akara is Akara although with slight intonationswink
Are Garri and Abacha also Yoruba food terms?

PoliticsRe: Tinubu With US Officials In His House: Do You Still Call Him A Drug Baron? by AlphaTaikun: 3:00pm On Aug 15, 2022
Eniitankorede:
This is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu with the US Consul General, Ms Claire Pierangelo and US Deputy Chief of Misson in Nigeria, Ms Kathleen Fitzgibbon in his house in Lagos.... The same Asiwaju the "no brains" said was a drug lord in the USA.

People should shun bitterness and Fake news

Nobody should be afraid of ASIWAJU , he is the most accessible and accommodating , an all inclusive Candidate.
Jagaban of Africa and ASIWAJU of the World

Congratulations , 2023 is a goal.

David Hundayin or what’s your name? Can you tell us what’s happening here? Any Obituary zombi can also assist him.

Answer this question:
Have you seen Atiku with any US officials in this kind of picture in recent years, since his corruption charges in US became active?

Have you seen US officials at highest diplomatic levels taking pictures with former or present criminals and drug barons?

How many people have you seen US officials coming their private house for discussion and photo shoots?

Now put your hand on your chest and confess to me that you still believe that Tinubu was a criminal in US.

@benalvino,
Uh-oh, pardon me folks. I got my timeline mixed up while trying to make a re-call offhand. Bill Clinton was already in his second-term [as of January 1998 when the sex scandal blew up]. The error was purely unintended and NOT meant to lie here.

Sooroptimist1:
Nigeria: US Clears Governor Tinubu of Criminal Deals By Citizen Confidential

Lagos — THE United States of America (USA) has cleared Governor Bola Tinubu of Lagos State of involvement in any criminal activity in that country or its territory.

The US Consulate in Lagos in a February 4, 2003 letter to the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Tafa Balogun said there was nothing in the records of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) indicating that Gov. Tinubu had, at any time in the past, been arrested or wanted for crime in the US.

The letter signed by the Legal Attache in the Consulate, Michael H. Bonner reads: “Our sincerest greetings to you and all of the law enforcement personnel in the Nigeria Police Force, whose continued assistance is very much appreciated.

In relation to your letter, dated February 3, 2003, reference number SR. 3000/IGPSEC/ABJ/VOL. 24/287, regarding Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a records check of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) National Crime Information Centre (NCIC) was conducted.

“The results of the checks were negative for any criminal arrest records, wants, or warrants for Bola Ahmed Tinubu (DOB 29 March 1952).

For information of your department, NCIC is a very centralised information centre that maintains the records of every criminal arrest and conviction within the United States and its territories.”

Foreign AffairsRe: Japan: Hirosima Marks 77th Anniversary Of The First Atomic Bomb Attack by AlphaTaikun(op):
peacefull:
Thank you so much for your kind words!
I appreciate you!!
Writing and reading about history in English is very difficult.
How I wish I have good English skill right now.
If I had it now, I think I can explain more well.

I have read many many times about why dropped atomic bomb in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
To me, warned or not, they chose to use that kind of bomb.
So, no matter what they said, everything is excuse.
And about leaflets, that was after dropped atomic bomb and just like propaganda leaflets.
Even if truly that leaflets are warning to Japanese peoples, after dropped atomic bomb is meaningless.

Japan is lost war country and America is won country.
They can say whatever they wanna say.
Even wrong things they did, they can say they did it right things.
America is hero, Japan is villain.
But at least Japan and Japanese judged and punished.
Some of them died in false accusation.
Very unfair trial.
Atomic bomb is genocide.
They even killed some non Japanese soldiers who were prisoner of war including American soldiers too.
They killed their own peoples too.

But everything is past.
We don't need to forget about it.
But we also don't need to live in the past.
We learned and we moved.
We don't need to live in hate. We don't need to carry on hate in the future.
We must learn from past and we carry on peace in the future! smiley

Yes, I'm still hurt.
I have never asked my late grandparents about war.
That time was my first time I heard about war experience from elderly peoples.
Some of them were kids, some of them were soldiers and two of them were prisoner of war in Siberia.

I'm sorry, I said sometimes I'm feeling like some peoples don't know anything means not some peoples don't know something is bad.
I didn't meant some peoples don't know history is bad. I never meant that.
I'm also don't know many many things.
I'm ignorant about many many things.
I'm very very sorry. How I wrote is very rude.
I apologies.

Japan is Shinto country.
But Shinto is more like culture.
I'm half Shinto and half Buddhist cheesy
But most of times I said I maybe Shinto.
In fact, I thought I'm like an atheist before.
I'm sure if you asked Japanese peoples about what is their religion, many peoples, I maybe can say most of peoples will say no religion!

But peoples visit to Shinto shrine and Buddhist temple, many many festivals and events? celebrations? are Shinto, having grave in temple etc.
And we talk about heaven and hell.
But most of peoples say no religion cheesy

We talk about cause and effect or karma.
Karma is like same meaning "what goes around comes around"?
I have read about that is from Buddhism.
Japanese also saying it.
I don't know if Shintoism or Buddhism is relate with Japanese work style.

About America, I think Emperor is one of the reasons maybe Japanese peoples moved on.
That time, Emperor was like God.
Emperor is Emperor. But old days and these days are little bit different.

Oh! Sorry, Google translate is something wrong.
Many many times wrong translate.
I don't know if that happened only English to Japanese or Japanese to English.
If tried to translate English to Japanese, many many times I saw strange Japanese.
I can read and I can understand. But sometimes I really can't understand some words.
So, I don't use it.
And without translate is more good learning to me!
But Thank you so much! I appreciate you!!

I checked about immersion program!
Thank you so much! I didn't know about this program.
I really appreciate you!!
Sadly, What I saw this program in Japan is for kids.
And still only few schools like kindergarten to high school have this program.
I will continue to learning slowly! smiley

Thank you so much!
And same to your country!! smiley
Hello again @Peaceful,

Wow! I read your latest feedback twice, and you're so full of wisdom, and understanding. smiley

I enjoyed your quick take on the Shinto, Buddhist and Humanist philosophies of the vast numbers of
Japanese people, and the belief in the karmic laws (or the spiritual laws of cause and effect).

Yeah, Emperor Hirohito was truly revered in Japan. He had that commanding presence that Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II, (both of England) had and still have in England where the British Royalty is loved by most of the citizens because of historical reasons. I grew up reading a lot of encyclopedia book volumes starting from back in the 1970s in my then family home library, so I read a lot of world history on prominent folks including Emperor Hirohito of Japan.

The Japanese language is a major international language with over 100 million speakers, so I'm really disappointed in Google for not getting the Japanese to English translation algorithm right. If you hadn't told me about this bad Google translation from English to Japanese, I too would have made translation mistakes while communicating with any Japanese friends and associates. Many folks online have also complained before today that their languages are not properly translated by Google.

Last but not least, as a well-traveled leisure and business traveler myself, I know full well that there are also portable electronic voice or language translation devices. If you speak into the portable device in English, it'll translate automatically into French! I will get back to you before the end of the week with more information on this device which will be specific for Japanese to English and/or English to Japanese translations.

Enjoy your day,

Cheers! smiley
