I stand corrected again, lol. However, Benin still seems like the "epicenter" of ivory carving in southern Nigeria from what I've read, just as Ife is still the clear "epicenter" of terracotta. There are too many Benin ivory works in a distinct Benin style for me to believe that they got it from Owo, especially since the style of many of Owo's ivory works seem to lean more towards the Benin style than toward the style of the other Yoruba ivories.
Are you saying and perhaps boasting that Benin is the epicenter of efforts to wipe out all elephants from souther Nigeria, if it hasn't done so already?

YES.
If you study the histories of African groups including ancient Egypt you just might find stories alluding to the expectation of the Messiah.

Remember that the Hebrews were/are blacks. To those refer to Christianity as oyinbo religion, can you verify that the Hebrews, Edomites and Jebusites appeared oyinbo?
Dada hair was found amongst Hebrews eg Samson and Ezekiel; and I've not come across an oyinbo person with dada hair or feet like brass.

Oba (Obba) - Shango's jealous wife, divinity of marriage and domesticity, daughter of Iemanja[/quote]It is said that Shango was the third Alaafin of Oyo. If true:
(1)Is it that he descended from heaven to earth to become Alaafin?
(2) During the time of the first and second Alaafin who was the warrior deity and/or divinity of thunder, fire, and/or sky father?
(3)Who represented male power and sexuality before Shango became Alaafin?

Where is(or was) canaan on the world map? Where did you get your information that Yorubas came from Canaan?
I dont how to say this without seeming rude, but I sense a case of Tokumbo mentality in your viewpoint. I notice that your are fighting very hard not to accept the Yoruba cosmogeny as authentic unless you can prove that is must have been IMPORTED from somehwere else of your choice. Interestingly, you chose canaan, I wonder why you did not choose arabia or palestine. For Yoruba history to be authentic, it must only come from outside of Africa, right? You cannot accept a truly authentic African origin of the Yorubas and Yoruba traditional religion?
I gues you have to read that human life and civilization began in Africa and spread out from there. You are desperately trying to link Yoruba traditional religion with jesus. How Pathetic.
I just cannot find words harsh enough to describe those who commit acts of calumny against their own cultural heritage for the sake of a used , worn out and discarded TOKUMBO religion of another race.
Mental slavery. SHAME SHAME SHAME.
It is TOKUNBO and not TOKUMBO.
I have given you reasons why Ife could very well be the origin of land, why man must have originated from Africa, how man migrated out of Africa to the Levant, and you kept quiet.
You mentioned worn out and discarded TOKUMBO religion of another race but I have shown you that the Hebrews (applies to the Edo(mites) and Jebu(sites) as well) must have had the same skin complexion as you and I. You have not responded in this regard.

Have you not accused me falsely and judged me of mental slavery?
I did not attack you but what did you do to me?

How did Yoruba and Edo emerge from Nok? I would like to better understand your assertion.
Christianity Etc › Re: Did The Yoruba People Forget And Substitute The Name Of God? by amor4ce(op): 6:09pm On Sep 25, 2011
I never said that the origin of man is the middle east; in fact, I doubt if I've ever accepted that. Rather, Ile-Ife as the origin seems quite plausible.

Genesis 2:8 tells us that when GOD created man HE then planted a garden eastward in Eden and put man there.
Genesis 3:24 tells us that when man fell, GOD placed cherubbim at the east of the garden of Eden to guard the way to the tree of life.
Genesis 4:16 tels us that after Cain murdered his brother got to know his punishment he dwelt in the land of Nod on the east of Eden.

These imply that the movement of man from the "site" of his creation was to the east. Logic tells me that tracing this site means going in the opposite direction, ie, westward. This lends credence to the assertion that Ile-Ife is the cradle of man. What about the similarity of the names Enoch and Nok?

I posed a question for debate and clarification, not for assertion.

@Pagan9ja, Is OLODUMARE the name of GOD in Yoruba language, or is it a title? I want to assume that you know the meaning of OLODUMARE. Are you aware that some Yoruba custodians seem to speak of OLORUN, OLODUMARE ad ELEDA as if of 3 persons? Are you also aware that these custodians also have said that one of the other names of Esu is Eleda?

So far none of you have mentioned the meaning of ESU. Are you half-baked practitioners of your beliefs?

Genesis clearly tells us that man migrated east from Africa. Later on some African groups were pursued out of the Arabian peninsular. You can check out this link.

Don't you yet realize that the Israelites of old were blacks?
Have you seen the Wikipedia article on the Amorites? (compare with Genesis 15:16)
“The Amorites, were a tall, handsome people, with white skins, blue eyes and reddish hair, all the characteristics, in fact, of the white race.”
Were those Israelites of old slaves in Egypt for 4 generations or the blacks who were victims of trans-atlantic slave trade? (in Egypt, didn't enslavement of Israelites start just before Moses was born)

Didn't Samson have locks (dada hair)?

If Absalom had oyinbo hair, how can his hair get stuck in a tree?

Why do the Edo people today like the red colour?

All those curses mentioned in Deuteronomy including the yokes of iron on the neck, who have they affected out of all the peoples of the world?

Have you studied the history of the Ijebu people?

I urge you to please consider this video

Christianity Etc › Taking The Ham Out Of Abraham – Yes Or No? by amor4ce(op):
/p1jWnJ-1W

The name Abraham is said to mean father of nations and that for Ham is said to be burnt or black. What I don’t yet understand is how the former was arrived at given the similarity of the spelling in Hebrew of ham in both names.

Hebrew is written from right to left

Abraham  אברהם

Ham            הם

Aren’t the meanings of words derivable from their roots?

I don’t yet know much about linguistics but am I not seeing an attempt to give Ham a bad name in order to hang him?

Why is the name HAM not said to mean NATION or MULTITUDE?

When I came across an advert by the organizers of the Cowbell Mathematics competition in The Guardian newspaper a few months ago I saw what I consider to be a significant level of disparity in the regional results. It showed the percentage scores of the best senior and junior secondary school students that participated in the competition from each state in the last academic session (2010/11). While students from the geopolitical south got scores from the 70s and 80s those from the north got scores in the 50s and below.

@silaV Thank you very much for your obhjectivity and creative mind. I can see that you have the mind of Christ. You 3. suggestions are very correct except for the cheap popularity. I don't need it, nobody knows who I am on NL.

I may have misled the house which I think is correct now, but I was right before. The information reaching me now is far worse than the one I gave you guys before if it is going to be true.
I learnt that because of the mass failure during the test, they are considering re conducting the test all over again. The management were concerned about why should 1st class and 2-1 students would have failed woefully. I think they realised some loop hole in the arrangement of the test. Because most of the people that took the test have graduated long time ago it will be difficult to remember secondary school questions.

So, there is hope for thos who lost in the test, if this nes idea is carried out. Because the Management want nothing but they brilliant ones, this was deeply emphasised in their last meeting. If this is to be carried out then dispatching of letters to the courier services may have been halted.

House lets wait for the response from NNPC.

Have a good day.
The mass failure in my opinion was due to the way students depend on past questions to pass exams without getting any depth. There was no loophole as the results imply that many of our graduates are not serious and cannot defend their time spent in formal education. Even if it has been 20 years after graduation a graduate should be ale to defend his degree.

I would not be surprised if Idu means red colour in Edo language. If yes, then case closed!

Coral beads are a very recent introduction to Nigeria, speaking historically, as they came first from the Portuguese. Red beads traditionally were made out of stone (jasper or chalcedony), what is sometimes called "lantana." These beads came from the region of the Niger River near Ilorin.
The famous bronze casts feature a lot of beads implying that it was common to the Bini Kingdom long before the arrival of the Portuguese.

The opinion I've had over the years is that the preference of that colour in Southern Nigeria is due to Edo influence and perhaps a sort of mimicry of their culture. Besides, I have a strong feeling that therein lies the answer to their history. And yes I'm referring to both coral beads and red cloth but more of the former.

Which other nation an be described as the Red People?

(1)Why do the people of Edo/Idu/Benin like the colour red so much that their attires can be regarded as incomplete without it?
(2)Does the colour preference have anything to do with their history?
(3)Do the names EDO AND IDU have anything to do with the red colour?
(4)Have they at any time been known as the Red people? If yes, any link between red people and the meaning of Edo/Idu?
(5)What is the meaning of Edo/Idu?
(6)Can the beginning of the red-coloured adornments be traced?

Please I am curious about the Idu history and want to learn more as I find the preference for the red colour to be peculiar to the Edo/Idu people out of all African nations that I am aware of.
Culture › Re: The Edos & The Children Of Israel - Born Of The Same Father! by amor4ce(m): 3:31am On Sep 13, 2011
Gleaned from a Biblical Anthropology website -

Another view is that Esau is related to the Hebrew asa - to do, to fashion, or to accomplish. Or it may be related to the African word Ishan. Since some of Abraham's ancestors came out of Africa, we should expect the name Esau to be traceable to that area from which they came (Nigeria and Lake Chad). The name Esau is Ishan (http://globalrecordings.net/language/2202) in Nigeria. The Arabic, Aramaic, Chadic and the Hebrew names are linguistically equivalent because they share a common Afro-Asiatic root. Because of the linguistic correspondence, some Islamic scholars suggest that Esau is Esa or Issa, the Quranic name for Jesus. This raises a fascinating possibility that the son beloved of the father, whose birthright was denied him by Israel, is a type of Jesus Christ!

Politics › Re: Fg To Establish Space Centre At Uniuyo by amor4ce(m): 9:50pm On Sep 10, 2011
Musiwa is on point in a way as what that Minister has done appears to be the archetype of nepotism.

Is he not from Akwa Ibom?
I'm reminded me of the time the Federal government announced plans to increase the amount of electromagnetic radiation in this country with the proposed establishment of TV and radio stations in all states of the country, including Stella Obasanjo's hometown (if my memory serves me correctly). She was still alive then.

Akwa Ibom is located in an area that sees rainfall for most of the year and is by the Atlantic Ocean, meaning quite some cloud cover. Common knowledge has it that space research centres are located on highly elevated areas and away from cities/towns to allow for minimal disruption by cloud cover and pollutants. It is also for this same reason that telescopes have been launched into space. It is the same logic that informs the location of manufacturing industries close to the source of raw materials.

However, Ondo State has hills and not mountains.

A better site would be Adamawa and Taraba and Plateau states where the highest terrestrial elevations -mountains - in Nigeria are situated.

Furthermore, to those who criticized Musiwa, have you not judged wrongly and jumped to foolish conclusions without carefully conssidering what he asserted?
