PhysicsMHD:Would you support Bini to be thought in Igbanke villages?. |
@Maimalari: Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo is not an association of 5,000 people. It is the all encompassing association of over 40 million Igbo people worldwide. |
To the Igbo in Delta State who made this year's Iri Ji festival of Igbo Youths U.K a memorable one, Thanks a million times. To Ubulu Ukwu Progressive Union--Thanks for those wonderful Igbo musical instruments. To Ika Town Union--Thanks a lot to the president for your immense support. Chief Nweke, Onye nwe anyi gozie gi. To Igbuzo Development Union-- Thanks to the Adinlofu's and others. Hope to see you all in 2011 edition. |
Abagworo:Well said. |
@Ezeagu: A copy of the Iri JI 2010 video will be available soon. It is £5.00 per copy. Contact the executives via our website (www.icsn.co.uk). |
The pictures will be published in our website soon (www.icsn.co.uk). Watch out. |
you mean different specie/breed? i thot they all same just that the creamy ones you refering too are newly harvested?? gworo more drier? oji bu oji
But have you wondered why one is more expensive than the other?. Also why is Oji IGBO very scarce?. In Igbo culture, gworo is only served in the absence of Oji Igbo. |
The in thing is: Bini for Binis. Ishan for Ishans, Etsako for Etsakos and Igbo for Igbos. Anambra state is 98.5 Igbo. The 0.4 Igalas in that state speak Igbo fluently and do not have any problem with Igbo language. Unlike in Edo state where Igbankes do not speak Bini or in Etsako areas where the natives do not speak Bini. |
ezeagu:They have to consent to that, you know. |
@Ifyalways. Oga diri gi nma. Anyi ebidoghi na oge (African time). Mana Obi di igwe mmadu nile juputara ebe ahu. Obu kwa nd Arik Airlines sponsored the programme. You saw how the president delivered his speech in Igbo language just like Uwaechue did during his inauguration or Mike Ahamba at World Igbo Congress. One ahu mere MC bu kwa onye nke anyi. Nwa beke ahu suru Igbo bukwa Onye Igbo from Isiala Mbano. Nmanwu di na nwunye ahu bu Nmanwu ndi Abatete, Anambra state. Akuko ka nku. @nadneth: Obi dim uto na unu na akwalite Omenala Ndi Igbo na Mba New Zealand. Deme nu. |
Include Enugu and Akwa Ibom to that list. |
@Chyz: The Igbo in Edo has 8 large communities compared to less than 3,000 Igala fishermen on the bank of the Great River. I have not met any Igbanke-Igbo claiming to be Bini. |
chyz:Igbanke people do not say they are Binis. They do not speak Bini. It will be wrong to impose Bini on them. Merging Igbankes into the proposed Anioma state is a welcomed idea. |
Just wondering about the title? Can any one say these duo are more successful than Fela
Yes, in terms of respect for women. |
ChinenyeN:Don't get it wrong Nenye. Igbo Union cum Ohanaeze have never been a political group and will never be. They do not field candidates for elective posts in Nigeria. They do not have a political party nor a manifesto. But they are a pressure group. |
Onum juru na ekele maka Iri Ji Igbo Youths UK ka osi wee ga nke oma. Ekelem Igwe mmadu nile juputara ebe ahu. I wish to use this medium to thank all those who made it at the Iri Ji festival of ICSN yesterday. It was a memorable night. Thanks to the Nigerian Acting High commissioner. Thanks to Igbo mayors and councillors in London who made it to the festival. Thanks to representative of Eze Nri for that wonderful yam cutting. Thanks to UmuIgbo Katolic community for their cultural displays. Thanks to Abatete Union UK for their Adaeze masquerade. Thanks to representatives of Izu Anioma for their support. Thanks to president of Ika Town Union for his support. Thanks to ICSN executives and members Thanks to Etche Union for their support. To Ebonyi state Union president, thanks a lot. To the entire Ndigbo and non Igbo people, thanks a lot as we look forward to 2011 edition. God bless you all. |
tpiah:Three have since joined the group. Can you imagine that one of them from Andoni, speaks Igbo fluently despite the fact she has never lived in Igboland nor had had Igbo parents. In the past, we use to record scores of non Igbos who come as observers until last year when some Kalabaris declared their intentions of joining the group. |
chyz:The Igbo state Union is not dead, it is this same Ohanaeze you hear everyday. Igbo state union was banned by Ironsi regime as well as other cultural associations. But in 1970, Dennis Osadebe and others regrouped and renamed the association Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo. Oha (Igbo people)--represented by Uwaechue. Ndieze (the Kings) represented by Obi Chike Edozien. It is similar to British model of House of the lords and house of the commons. I do remember ASUU when banned resurfaces as AASU OR ASU etc. |
Odunnu:Ugo Eze, aha nkea di uto. |
Edo Language is Bini. Bini and Edo are the same. |

The Igbo Youths UK will also use this year's Iri Ji festival to introduce to the public our Igbo lesson centres in London. |
This is a welcomed development. At the same time, Igbo should be compulsory in Igbanke areas while Etsako should be compulsory in Auchi areas. Ishan in Afuze areas. |
ChinenyeN:I think at this stage, you should be charged a fee for those answers. |
rubi:Gworo is more reddish in clolour or oxblood some are white in colour. Oji Igbo is creamy and some are not that reddish in colour. Oji Igbo is used for rituals, for marriages, title takings, offering or prayers at traditional ceremonies, to welcome visitors and to introduce very important discussions and requests. Oji Igbo has many lobes. Oji Igbo is more expensive e.g if a basket of gworo is N2,000, that of oji igbo is N2,800. |
scam--ngwucha. corpse--ozu beetle--ebeta. Revenge--nmegwara. soft---poko. pillow--nchekwisi. |
ezeagu:I do have some examples of Igbo trad. attire. If you live around London and need some, you can contact executive members of Icsn via their website but should not be within this festive period. Only 3 have joined since then. |
Josh plays better in the roving midfield position while Kakuta plays as one of the front three. |
