beneli:No problem with kids, the venue also has parking spaces. The stage is set, however, the Igbo catholic union has offered their own Igbo dance instead of the usual Nmanwu. This will be decided this pm. Surely, a lot to see. Hope you and kids enjoy it. |
Divided we fall. If Yorubaland fought together to fight off the British with the help of a few allies [like the biafran war], the british would not have succeeded. [but then, thatz my opinion]
Even if the entire Yorubaland combined with Dahomey and Sokoto Caliphate had fought against the British, they would have lost with ease. |
@Beneli: You are highly welcomed. The event starts from 6pm-12:30am. The Hall can only contain 500 people but 700 are expected. Please come on time. |
@KATSUMOTO: my reference point is clear. The Yorubaland fell like pack of cards when confronted by the British unlike in Igboland where up till 1929, wars were still going on between the OCCUPIERS and IGBO communities. if you want to know more about western Igbo wars with the British, check out this http://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-520042.0.html |
Some distinguished Igbo names around Isinweke and Nsu-Ehime. Korie--Man born on Orie or man who shines on Orie days. Konkwo--in relation to Nkwo day. Keke--in relation to eke day Kafo--in relation to Afor day. The above names are known as Okorie, Okonkwo, Okeke and Okafor in other Igbo areas. |
Sometimes, anti Igbo campaigners posts are so laughable. The Obi of Owa was in London this summer and was visited by Igbo sons in London. The Obi does not go about denying Igbo but preaches for unity between Ndigbo and Nigeria. On several occassions, I have been tempted to post photographs am not suppose to post. Any one who wants to know if Ikas are Igbos and belong to Igbo organisations should attend this years Iwa Ji festival of Igbo Youths U.K. Location: Monarch, Edmonton. Unit 7J Nobles Road, Eley Industrial Estate. One of the cultural dance groups is even an IkaIgbo dance group. Date 16/10/10. (sat). You are invited. |
ChinenyeN:Not again. Mr MAN, this question of yours is too late. It has been dealt with on several occasions here. |
ChinenyeN:At the bolded. The chap is always stating '' we are Ika not Igbo''. Do you think the Igbo from Ika will not feel insulted?. |
HEOMA (HOMA)--something good. This name is prominent in the Rebisi/Diobu areas of Igboland. Some areas in Igboland call it Iheoma while some call Ifeoma. |
ChinenyeN:I only asked questions, if you have no answers, just overlook it and move on. Don't tell me you were almost insulted because of my question. All the time you ask questions in cultural section, do people tell you they were almost insulted by your question however silly some of them tend to appear?. |
ChinenyeN:Do you think that Agbontaen is the spokesperson of Ndi Ika?. Do you think it is not an insult to Igbo people of Ika extraction?. |
@Sonya: It is an outright stupidity to claim that Agbontaen or whatever is the spokesperson of ndiika. Who made him so and since when?. Mind you, ChinenyeN is not taking sides. He is only saying that people are free to choose what group they want to be. As a result, you and your hero should let those who identify as Igbo to be Igbo. It is very clear you also lack comprehension. Abagworo has provided us with another link where some Ikas are claiming they are Igbo, so go and figure. |
CHIMZURUM--my God is sufficient/enough for me. CHINANU--God hears. CHINELO--God thinks. CHIMAROKE--God knows my portion/share. |
Can we at this time share our opinions on how the emergence of the whitemen shaped up our communities, positively or negatively. |
Abagworo:Yet that brain dead Ika monkey called Agbontaen will not learn. |
Daniel Wilson---Cassanova. |
agbotaen:Monkey, why not take your frustrations to individuals in this board than the entire race, you baboon. You dirty son of a LovePeddler, quit issues regarding the war as many Ika sons fought on the Biafran side. slowpoke, go and screw yourself that a lot of Ikas identify as Igbo. Who even made this retard the spokesperson of Ikas?. Why are you claiming what you are not, pig. Baboon A.ss fart, instead of typing crap here all the time, why not go to the zoo and be fed with peanuts?. Boofer, just buzz the sshit before you are forced to do so, ball scratching bbitch slut. |
TewMuch:Baboon, go back to the zoo or be civil. Why do you have to insult the poster in such a manner. You simply agree or disagree than run your stinking mouth wide in the public. Some morons do not even create a thread but only to insult thread starters. Shameless maggot. Even the Ironsi you mentioned was not involved in the coup. |
Two Igbo sons are in the race for Aso Rock come 2011. Pat Utomi and OUK have made their interests known. And you guys should further spare the insults buy typing Igbo instead of Ibo. |
TewMuch:Fiercely defending Mbu is not same as Igbo. Igbos also defended Osoba, does that mean Osoba is Igbo?. I think, some chaps needs to go back to primary schools and learn about Nigeria's ethnic groups. |
Katsumoto:I have dictated your fallacy yet again. The Oyo empre was no match to the British. How long did it take to occupy Yorubaland after the fall of Oyo. How about the sultanate than immediately collapsed after Sultan Attahiru fled. Now compare that with British Aro wars of 1901-2. Olokoro in 1903, Uzuakoli 1903. Afikpo in 1903/4, Umunneoha 1904. In 1905, Ezza, Ovoro and Nonya. In 1906, Onicha and Ahiara. 1908, Isikwuato, Urualla and Etche. In 1909, 10, 12 and 1914, was the turn of Isiagu, Ntarakpu and Ekumeku of the Western Igbo. Do you need more?. |
Surprise, Another Ibo caught lying. . . . . . .lol
Mbu is not Igbo but Ekoi. |
ayinba1:I do not know what sort of elementary school you are talking about or social studies class. Some aspects of Nigerian history are not thought in schools. Even professors of Nigeria political history do not know all about the first coup. Only recently, the true aspect of that coup is manifesting from eye-witnesse(s) such as Segun Osoba. |
@NUZO. Would you be contesting under PDP?. |
Lol. Just peep this slowpoke out! lol. Birth Certs. indeed! Monkey, when I said that I was being sarcastic; ure really unintelligent for real! Oh, now u need proof of identity just Ive shown u pics of known Ibo gals in the NYC/NJ area. You need proof huh, ok heres some proof for u: SHOW US PROOF THAT THE PRETTY GALS U ARE FAWNING OVA IN THE PICS ABOVE ARE REALLY IBOS! Freaking hypocrite!
Impotent Retardo, your inability to provide the needed proof means you have failed as usual. Go and hang your worthless self, pig. You might take this as well: Ero m kpara aka na ala foro. |

. Nothing to be ashamed of about the coup, what happened, happened and it is in the past. We should just learn from the past and move on, not try to deny it. It is our history and going to be our history till the world ends, nothing can ever change that.
