Katsumoto:
I am really trying not to get into this debate but you are provoking me.
When Nzeogwu made his speech in Kaduna, did he mention that the plotters were going to make Awolowo PM. Ademoyega was to make the speech in Lagos, did he mention in his book that they were going to install Awolowo as PM? I have read Ademoyega's book as well. Please re-read your statement; how were coup-plotters going to replace a constitutionally appointed president with a prisoner?
You do not need to ask me that silly question. Refer the question to Ben Gbulie, afterall, he is still alive. I know you read a lot, you might have read his book ''THE FIVE MAJORS''. May be long time ago, but I advice you go and reread it.
PoliticsRe: Max Siollun Unravels That The 1966 Coup Was Not Just An ''igbo Coup'' by AndreUweh(m): 6:05pm On Jul 15, 2010
In addition to my earlier post relating to Ademoyega. There was the direct evidence of Ben Gbulie that they (The Jan 15, 1966 coup plotters) intended to replace Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe with Chief Obafemi Awolowo as the president of Nigeria.
The beneficiary of the 15th Jan, 1966 coup was to be Awolowo. Now, Awolowo happens not to belong to the Igbo ethnic group.

It was an Igbo coup. We cannot unwrite history.

Even when people claim that this man was from the Midwest and the other was from here, we are not saying it was an Eastern or Midwestern coup, it was an Igbo coup. Even during the civil war, the Igbo part of the Midwest was annexed by the Igbos.

Some wonder why the Igbos would want to carry out a coup when they infact were enjoying a lot of power. They forget that with the Igbos, it's always all or nothing. They went for all and now there's nothing.

Everybody can understand there was a coup, but what we can't understand is the sparing of some of the politicians along tribal lines, and what the military cannot understand is the massacre of high-ranking Northern officers. These mallams are not as silly as we want to make them seem.
You castrated maggot, you must be a boofer for chatting the above crap. Do you intend to provide a more precise evidence better than the one Ademoyega has provided to Nigerians?. Ademoyega was a member of the class of five that carried out the Jan 15, 1966 coup. In his book, ''why we struck'', he clearly stated that the coup was not an Igbo coup. D.I.C.K head, are you always this stupid or are you making a special effort today?.
PoliticsRe: Max Siollun Unravels That The 1966 Coup Was Not Just An ''igbo Coup'' by AndreUweh(m): 11:09pm On Jul 14, 2010
You S.H.I. T lickers and Poo eaters, this is for you to figure. The author of the book '' why we struck'' Adewale Ademoyega (RIP), a Yoruba officer clearly stated that the January 15, 1966 coup was planned by young military officers Igbos and non-Igbos alike disgusted with the state of Nigerian Nation. He did not ascribe that coup to any particular ethnic group.

Goverments of Rivers, Abia and Imo states have made kiddnapping offence punitiable by death . Supported.
Already, some kidnappers in Imo and Abia states have been shot dead. More waiting execution.

What sort of power or position do Ndigbo want in 1966, which they did not have, to warrant a conspiracy by way of a coup to achieve?.
In 1966, the president of Nigeria, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe was an Igbo, the president of the senate, Dr. Nwafor Orizu was an Igbo. The Geeral officer commanding the Nigerian army, Lt Gen Aguiyi Ironsi was an Igbo.

To represent Nigeria as a president of Igbo extraction, one has to come from those territories under Ohanaeze affiliation. For example, Abia, Anambra, Delta north, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo and Upland Rivers state.

He is not from a core Igbo area, so he cannot be considered a core Igbo man. If I ever became president of Nigeria, Igbos would say that I am Ibibio or a mutt due to my Aro ancestry.
The Mbadiwe's, Ikoku's etc are Aro's like you and no Igbo has objected their leadership based on the above quote.
Sorry to let some nairalanders down, Goodluck is not an Igbo man, he is not representing Igbo interest and rose to ranks as non-Igbo.
One does not become Igbo by inscribing an Igbo middle name unto his names. I know Ekpeye's are Igbo groups but Goodluck is none of that.

@topic

I lived most of my life in Nigeria and have been/stayed in most of the regions in Nigeria, Yes tribalism exists but not as bad as its being portrayed on NL.

Sometimes i wonder if NLders talk about different ethnic groups other than the ones I know.

If I had not known my Igbo friends very well, I would have found it difficult having a drink in their houses after reading all the hatred being displayed here.
Is it only Ndigbo that display hatred here?. Even if you assume they do, they are not worse of.
Nothwithstandingly, once again, I beg all the nairaland tribalists to cut off all those poisonous fingers that type tribalism. Show love to one another irrespective of tribe, colour, creed or value, or gender.

Andre! Your judgement is too harsh na. If the twins were your relation, would you wish them dead instead of pray for them. A father does not pick up a gun and shot his son because he is mad and walking unclothed on the streets. Its a painful situation that is borne with hope and prayers. Even in the U.K, do juvenile serial killers get sentenced to death? No. They are sent to rehabilitation centers. I'm not supporting what they did but wishing them death is not just the right thing to do
The earth is sacred in West Africa, and when one commits some abominable act agaist the earth, the earth takes up a fight against that individual or individuals . For them to die mysteriously may be a sort of revenge from the messengers of the sacred earth.
I know this sounds incredible, but it is true.

G.E.J emergence as no. 1 citizen of Nigeria today is because of his south-south geo-politcal affiliation.
Even if he is Igbo, he is not the one Igbo people are expecting.
