another big mistake you made andrewza is that nigerian airforce has more than 2 maritime patrol aircraft, we have 8, go and google it. 2 of ATR-42 and 6 of G-222 aircraft, i post photo of nigerian G-222 aircraft below.

nigerian G-222 has range 4,000km far superior to south african dakota 2,000km. also our G-222 has max take off weight of 28,000kg far superior to you Dakota's 13,000kg. my friend, nigerian military has several points where it is superior to south african military. try swallow it, it's the truth, be honest.

The comparsin was between the ATR 42 not the entire MPA fleet. We have a few other recon air craft.
Lowest number is 2810 km range. I think the mistke on the source(saaf them self) I used was I took range not raduice. Still 2810km out ranges your atr by a large margen

Not true. SA was very effective in COIN warfare. We where able to force all rebel groups in SA and nambia to operate out side of the country. This limted there means of attack on us to cross border raids and a few bomings through all the years. Most of witch caused only minor damge. We fought the Nambian rebel group more in Angoal than in nambia it's self. We where all so able to get the rebels to agree to our terms. To this day there are a large number of whits in nambia holding a lot of land and power. Not has much has in south africa but enough that it matters.

More due to the fact you only have 2 of them. The turbo dak only has range. You can refute it but the lowest stated rang for a turbo dak is still doubil the ATR42. I will still do the other wepaons but tanks I won't do. Can't get a straight anserw on our tanks armour. But I will do other sytems.

has can be seen the the ATR 42 is faster and can carry more but the turbo dak has range. A lot more range so can patrol for longer. the ATR 42 can get to the patrol zone faster but can not stay on station has long. So it all depends what you want from your MPA. Niether is better. Has for comparing it between the air forces. The fact Nigeria has only 2 means they actualy have the poor MPA force.

I will compair all aircraft. And the dakota is a 1940s aircraft. It served in WW2 and the berlin airlift. It is one of if not the oldst air craft in operational use in the world. Has I said it needs a replacment. But a comparsin will be intristing.

South Africa has even more experienced pilots than Nigeria, not long that plane would crush because of your incompetence. There are a few diffrences between the J7 and Hawk 220. Tge big one is role. It is not a Fighter. The J7 is a fine air craft but is out clased by modern air craft. The 2 mai users of it see it has a mass wave air craft. Sort of a Air born fast moving SAM(or AAM in this case). If Nigeria had 100 J7 there air foce would be strong. But they don't they have lees J7 than we have gripens.

Now the Hawk is a trainer first and for most. It is good I that role. It is stabel and easy to fly. And has been made to incoperat many of the Gripens sytems. It is not a combat aircraft. But it has a second Light Attack role build in to it. This is a easy fuction and a lot of WW2 air craft would still be great Attack Aircraft in Africa (once any Air threats are removed) so it more a Alpha jet. Have you seen us complian about the Alpha jet. No because it is still good it what it dose. Now in terms of Air to Air combat. The Hawk is not super sonic but can turn really while. It all so carries the best AAM in use in Africa. So it may not be able to attack the J7 but could easly deffend against one.


Next just becsuse somthing is old dose not mean it is Bad. Take a look at the M113. It is still one of the best APC's out there. It still the best APC amrica has made. Better than the thing it was replaced with the styker. It was a 1960 era APC same has where the Mig 21 came from. So why is the M113 A3 so good but the J7 so while not good. Role. The J7 is ment to kill jets witch have far supast it. While the M113 is ment to carry solders savly to the battel where they do the fight. So it ment to surve only ambushes long enough for the troops to disimbark not fight MBT and go every where. The M113 is better than the styker same way the Cobra is better than the styker

the hawk is the MK120 based of the MK127 (the numbring is confusing yes i know) it can fire A dater 5gen misseils and has been heavly modfied. Only 10% of it is the same has the first hawk they newly build not some old air frame

the lynx is of the Super lynx 300 version and has nothing close to the first one. they all so newly build

the dakot are old air frames but the egnins and avionis are all new. They are the next fixed wing air craft to get replaced and all ready have a project(for got the name) but with these poor global econmic times not seen has urgent. Though i disagree they should have replaced long ago.

has you can see the cobra is a match for the mamba, since both are APC's the cobra is a bit better in mobliety since it can swim but the Mamba has more troops and is beter protected from mines and IED's.
