all4naija: The truth is that Nigerian government don't give a damn about the citizens. Police will brutalize a Nigerian a$$ in that country without any thing done about it. That is another lawless country get close to South African situation. And what your cops are a perfect human? There are so many stories of your cops and sercuirty forcers brutlizing your own people. People in glass houses should not throw stones. |
It not forgoten. |
lekpalicious: There was a recent case where a nigerian guy was killed while beeing in police custody.Thanks. Any word on what happened. Seems that it been sweped under the rug. Same thing will hapen with this case. Nigerian goverment is not focul so nothing hapenens. Nigeria cliams to be the giant of africa yet it has no back bone. |
lekpalicious: As a Nigerian in SA. I know first hand how wicked they are and they really hate us. The journalist are very lucky as they could easily have been killedName one count of cops in SA excuting a prisioner in recent years. |
souldust: why do you think they will support you and not us?Better milltary, econmic and diplomatic ties. |
That nothing speciol again. SANDF officer have to get degrees. It nothing speciol to brag about. Officer training in the SANDF takes a long time not because of the officr course but because of unvirsty eduction afterwards. Of course depending on your degree you can join from civlian street straight in to a rank but only for non combat posts since only milltary personel get milltray courses. |
agaugust: that is your friend's personal opinion about one single nigerian soldier out of the almost 200,000 nigerian military men. your officers are not better than ours, it is special to be trained with different military doctrines of many super power countries of the world, it very special, it is NOT common, and it is very expensive as it costs billions of dollars for nigeria in many years. So you think SA with it's higher milltary budget and smaller force can not send people on forghine courses A navel officer just retuerned from some course in amrica and a sort of freind of mine(he is a junnior officer) is going to spend time on a forghine war ship to see how they do things first hand. |
femmyb: They are lucky to be alive, is it not the same South African police that mowed down100 |
We don't train at other countries we trian with other countries. The diffrence we learn from each other. SA has regualer training operations with countries from all over the world. So don't act has though it is speciol. Your training is not that high. I was speaking to a army solder from 8SAI air assualt. When he was in Sudan he spent time in the nigerian zone. According to him you where a lot better than the rebels but not nearlly good enough. A exampil. Every day the SA solders pratised somthing called stand too basicaly defending the base. The nigerians did not. |
Working with the Nigerian Air Force is an ongoing component of the California SPP,” Smith said. “We have been working alongside U.S. Air Force Europe and U.S. Air Force Africa in hosting a variety of familiarization visits to demonstrate to the Nigerians typical USAF C-130 flying and maintenance operations focusing specifically on overall flying operations, airframe/engine maintenance and airframe corrosion control operations,” he said. http://www.nationalguard.mil/news/archives/2013/02/021313-State.aspx |
The last pic there on the flight deck. Any info on that. |
agaugust:It not in our ontristed to go to war with you. We would harm our own bussnes intristes doing it. If we where to go to war with you it would only be if you became threat to us. If that happened all those countriess would support us and even help us. The point we where making is that nigeria a maritime econmy is unable to protect it's sea trade. |
Maxymilliano: Why do people keep guns in their homes? I guess it's easy for me to say but I think you're much safer WITHOUT a gun. It means you won't shoot anyone - intentionally or accidentally... .It better t stand befor a good man than be caarried by good men. |
sheyie2007: are you in Mali with them? I promise you this, the same media will speak otherwise..Why should that matter. Proof was asked for I give proof. You don't agree with the source go after the source. It was mentioned food was provided and thay there is a shorage I have the most likly resoane a logistic problem. |
360command: Are you a learner ? Have you been to Mali ? Have you actually been to Gao, Mali ? Even the french troops run out of food . That place is a desert land which is hard for plant and animals to scout for food. That area is you, your water and God.Leraner? Nope. But I never wrote the artical No reports have been given. You not ment to eat the local fana and flora but bring your own food. So that is not a exuse. Bottom line nigerian logistics are over streched. |
sheyie2007: like the general said, enough food was provided, apart from that before their departure to Mali several pictures of the army loading bags of rice on a truck were posted on the internet as well as this platform... dude, pdp has enemies... if you understand Nigeria, you'd understand.. ishhh..propagandaNot just food but wepaons are short to. And the amount deployed was lied about(or misled) so I can bielfe there are food problems. There may be food but a problem in distrubtion. |
sheyie2007: exactly the answer I was expecting, don't always believe what you read here on NL...From the Nigerian newspaper PRIMIUM TIMES: The condition of Nigerian troops in Mali is quickly sliding from bad to worse as inadequate supply of provision is forcing the contingent to solicit food from locals, PREMIUM TIMES can exclusively report. According to a reliable defence source who asked not to be named, the Nigerian contingent solicits food and handouts under the guise of "courtesy calls" to community leaders in Mali. After one of such courtesy calls on Monday, the troops received a handout of a cow and 50 bags of rice from the Prefect of Tuban in Banamba region. "Our officers and men have resorted to begging locals for cows and rice for survival," said the official. "This is done by way of courtesy calls. They invite the prefects of the locals to our camp for visits. The prefect of Tuban (Banamba Region) visited today (Feb 11) with a cow and 50 bags of rice." Last week, PREMIUM TIMES exclusively reported that the initial 162-soldier contingent is suffering severe food shortage and a dip in morale as troops were forced to skip meals. Our defence insiders said there has been no improvement in the provision of food. However, the Director for Defence Information, Mohammed Yerima, a Brigadier General in the Army, told our reporter over the telephone that any insinuation of food shortage is not true. "We have provided the contingent with enough food and fund to last them for the initial three months. Is Nigeria not bigger than that?" he said. Still in Bamako Contrary to information from the Ministry of Defence that Nigerian troops are involved in combat and have advanced northward toward the city of Gao, military insiders said the Nigerian contingent is still stationed at the Force Headquarters in Bamako. We learnt that shortage in armaments has prevented the deployment of soldiers to combat positions. And many soldiers are yet to be paid their monthly sustenance allowance. Sending troops in piecemeal As of Monday, there were 210 soldiers in Mali with 70 more billed to join them on Tuesday. President Goodluck Jonathan promised to deploy 1,200 soldiers as part of Africa-led International Support Mission to Mali (AFISMA) but is having great difficulty meeting up with that number. Mr. Yerima said the figure we cited is incorrect. But our sources dismissed the denials, saying Mr. Yerima's job is to make the Nigerian military look good. "We have over 500 troops in Mali and Niamey (Niger Republic)," he said. Since we are not reporting on Niger, we had expected him to tell us how many soldiers Nigeria has on ground in Mali. The Boko Haram insurgency, Niger Delta unrest, and the country's commitment to the African Union Mission in Darfur, Sudan, have over-stretched the Nigerian Army, senior military sources said. |
sheyie2007: serious!, source plsThere are 3 threads on it in this forum. Let's not derial it. |
Capnd143: lol . . .! You said you havnt seen our " military action" well thankGOD you havnt, and i tell you surely, if not for the fact that nigerians are generaly not war driven or war intensive nation, then u would have felt the wrath of "the angry birds". You think owning a 3 submarines and missiles, plus some armament and birds is gonna give you assurance of defeating Nigerians, then you are in the stone Age. We have the resources we only nid to utilize it and use it smoke your sorry asses. If i had been the president, i would have answered with military actions! How you going to get here. You struggling to maintain your forces in malil. |
[qPPuote author=Capnd143] really? Belive me am laughing in swahili . . . . Your fellow retardeen says the would put a blockade . . . Hahahaha! Let me tell you, we dont even need the Nigerian armed forces to unplug your sory asses, even boko-boys can clear the route!!! Imagine SA turning to mali with angry "boko-boys" deployed by terrorist, we dont even need to deploy are troops there![/quote]What you trying to say here. |
souldust: @Thiza stop all these. Why dont you explain why you are growing at about 2percent or less while the likes of Nigeria has been growing at about 7percent. Explain why Nigeria is about to overtake you as the largest economy despite the fact that we have more serious problems. Pls dont mention oil becos that will not stand critical analysis of economics. It not oil alone any case we got our own minrieals. The resones are Standard of living. SA is a welfare sate and a large portion of money is spent on the poor with grants, free housing, free medical care(not allof it is free but a lot of it is free such has abortions, AIDS medication, TB medcation extra) uplifment programs, land reform where the goverment buys land from the owners and gives it to those with claims and even get them a start up fund for there farm Piroity is not econmic growth nut education and devlopment this can be seen by the budget Popultion. You got more people to tax. Even if each ones pays less due to being poor the total amount due to tax gives nigeria a higher Tax level. Once Nigeria reachs the top they will slow down has they will need to adjust there prioty. Right now the averiage South African is way better of than his nigerian counter part. I think when Nigeria get at top we will get a USA sweeden sittion. Amrica is by far the richer but the guy in sweeden has a way better life. |
Abrantie: It's better to have air defense capabilities than to have none at all. After all, we don't foresee going to war with any advance nation. Our defense is geared towards weak countries like Mali, Togo, Benin and Nigeria3 things. 1 the current gen A10 is upgraded heavly 2 the A10 is built to provied clos air support to ground troops. It will not win a air to air fight 3 The A10 is far from low tech any more. And yes it is deadly to any thing on the ground. |
solomon111: The best rifle to use in desert conditions like mali is the artomat kalashnikow -47(ak-47).Actualy if you look after the M16/M4 and clean it daily you will not have any problems. It ligh weight high accuracy and low reciol make it a deadly weapon in the right hands. So if the Ghanian army treats them like the Amricains treat them they will be great. If they treat them like a AK they going to jam a lot. |
What this that we envey you. For what and what did you really do for the blacks during Aparthied. Only Angola, Nambia and Cuba comtied milltary forces against the Apartyhied war machine. No other country can claimed they helped since all they did was speak. And a gain envey nigeria. Why because you don't know when to stop making babbies. |
souldust: countries do recieve gifts from other people. But it is not like what israel, egypt and cuba get. That is true. |
Capnd143: [b]With nigeria's ever ballooning population and development potential especially in ict, the south africans and the ghanians are seeing nigerians as IMPERIALIST IN THE MAKING, so i wouldnt blame them a lot, its jealousy! As for the brutality poured on our journalist, i strongly go for pressing charges against the entire South african police force for voilation of human right! This is pure hatred! We don't see you has "IMPERIALIST IN THE MAKING" there are no nigerian copertions or buissness in SA we have never seen any milltary action from you down here or any thing to show for your so called power. You could try but such a wide and open law suite would fail. Best is to press charges on the cops who did the assualt. You could win illeagal dention, discrimtion, assualt, intmdation. |
jidewin: Then they're not interested in the truth.Only blinded by their passionate fear and hatred 'afrophobia'.ever before 1994 drugs have been used in SA.it wasn't Nigerians who brought it in as a trend.I have not seen how the SA media passionately campaign against the use of drugs.NO.but they're quick to point fingers.Rather than treat their cancer, they work on symptoms.Do you know high grade drugs are hardly been imported but now locally produced right there in their soil??Their woes are most times if not all the time blamed on foreigners.if they catch flu,its foreigners,if they miss their menstrual period, its foreigners,if their car won't start in the morning its foreigners, this people make me sick damn.Has are most people in the world. |
sheyie2007: I've been to your country, man, only a few know of our population size let alone, whether we have oil or not.. You only stated your subjective view above... I was suprised when a South African told me he thought we come to SA in taxi and not planes.Has a said where I live(and work) most South africans only know about the nigerians in SA but I don't talk to them. |
abdulkayus: is dis english? Hey, go and meet ur english teacher to refund ur money. Bleeping xenophobic saffers.I got dyslxia. |
sheyie2007: have you done anything to change your peoples perception of us/ other africans as a whole? or you'd rather it remains that way?Where I live no one has that few. Mainaly because there no nigerians. The local drug dealers are from SA. Over all they see Nigeria has a country has a corrupt african country with loads of oil and the people has whole has people. But they see the Nigerian in SA has crimnal. They wonder why they here since we so far away from each other. At least they don't think you stealling jobs. |
jidewin: FYI Nigerians are not the only drug dealers in SA.The russiuans, pakistanis, chineese are in the trade BIG time.drug dealers and their likes,I have no defense for,but for the honest working, tax paying Nigerians in SA to be treated in like manner...is outright unacceptable. Can they try this shi.t with black americans in cape townHas oi siad it is how they seen. Wether true or not that is jow they seen. |
souldust: i can see you are talking about the NNS Thunder. But that aside, we do not get military aid from any country in the world.AID is AID same has angola they got some ships to. We had 6 nukes plus 1 under construction. |

. Even the US (and some of their European allies) still uses "hogs", which is like from the Vietnam era or ww2 or something like that.
