Are you just waking up? It's everywhere; CIA backed SANDF troops got a serious beating in Angola in 1988. The Americans where dropping air supplies and men from their base in Zaire.

you don't want to take us 7 pages back now, do you?
I am asking where 2000 CIA mercs where killed. We all know the CIA was in Angola. They gave UNITA Stingers but refuesed to give us since we would reverse engineering them. Probably why we kept our captured SAM systems.

CIA
And your proof? And again from where. 2000 people don't spawn from thin air.

my poor comprehension CANNOT possibly make you not to understand.

You are omitting the preposition"with" in the sentence which is the barrier between your comprehension and confusion .

Allow me help you by coming down a bit; I'm going to rephrase now: you lost despite having over 11,000 troops, CIA merceneries and supplies. Now this isn't an English class by any means.

You lost that war big time with outdated tanks and war planes. The Cubans shot you out of the skies. Your military writers and consultant attempted to rewrite another version of that war. South African and some section of American press carried it but the truth still prevailed and Chester Crocker was exposed.

Your sources are inadmissible by purpose and content.
Mercenaries? From where.

The scouts or intelligence units are rarely seen, their ops are top secret.

The bats are mostly deployed with their sf buddies.
And the the Intel guys. There where a few Intel guys in Banguie.

Without them and recovery variants the tanks are declared unoperational and used for training only.
Mainly the recovery version. Real bummer if you can't retrieve your tanks if they damaged.

You have this craaazy idea that people own what does not belong to them.

Ford is an American company with branch in South Africa. Does it make Ford a Southie brand and product ?

Kia motors have opened factory to make cars in Nigeria, so does Nigeria now own Kia automobile brand ?

You must be insaane grin grin

Ford is an American product
.
They built In SA. Meaning we can build engines.

Nope, SANDF does NOT get free weapons form DENEL, you make purchase order, sign contract of sale, pay cash and buy.

You guys ruined DENEL financially few years ago with poor management at DENEL lost all it's cash, almost collapsed , and government had to pay cash for bail out. DENEL cannot, CANNOT afford to give away free missiles or equipment to SANDF.

Government ownership does NOT = Charitable organization like Red Cross !

Mokopa missile is NOT wanted by SANDF according to your own SAAF Brigadier General, who gave technical reasons, I psoted the long interview here from defenseweb. NO NEED TO REPEAT SAME STORY AGAIN AND AGAIN !

Mokopa missile NOT in service.

CASE CLOSED grin grin
.
Do you know what cost price is? Denel does not need bail outs now it makeing the government lots of money.

I'm not arguing with anything... All I was saying is that I didn't know we Made those here in S.A, I've usually seen trunks carrying the bridges and not Tanks. It doesn't matter whether it belongs to Denel or SANDF but the fact is its my first time seeing it.
I quoted the wrong person. Sorry.

Centrifude:
Wow I didn't know we had Bridge deploying *TANKs* (O_o)

I remember last year when I was talking to an Intelligence Operative and a Parabat, and the Parabat was complaining about how they are the ones who always get shot at and killed while the Intelligence guys never do sh1t and that they just hide in the bushes and trees busy taking pictures and talking on their radios.
Does that matter. Denel is state owned. All so the only defence company to show there stuff was paramount. That means those mokape belong to the SANDF.

Okay, my guess is German, but it's your country's equipment, show us the Ratel engine's source of manufacture
.
Why would you think Germany though? Any case the engines are built local we even sell Ford USA engines built by Ford SA.

lol.naija's navy is one of the best in the world, and one of the most advanced on the continent,if i were to join the navy,it would be a great honour, especially being part of the SBS;which takes great amount of skill and training.Unlike the incompetent SAN that cannot shoot at a stationary target, much less a speeding gunboat.
Accept it my man, your navy is a ragtag police force.i win!

Ah, relax patchesagain, my blush-radar is sensing your heat and blushes across this platform.

First off, the sandf had its nearest base in Namibia which it has been occupying illegally for some time. The fact that your president flew there to give a last minute moral booster for a demoralised troop is something to keep your hands full.

Your rage occasioned by the revelation of truth has knocked you onto a path of blinded banter.

You didn't deny the fact that southafrica officially attempted to rewrite her war history, no?

SANDF dabacle in Angola guaranteed the independence of Namibia, no?

That you lost that more with over 9,000 troops more than 500 tanks, aircrafts and more, no?

I didn't expect you to own up, son. There wouldn't have been this thread if you can.
500 tanks and aircraft. We don't have that many tanks and aircraft.

how can a frigate or submarine "struggle" to identify a fishing boat from a target drone?,what are all its radars and surveillance installations meant for?,cooking soup for sailors?
There is absolutely no excuse for the SAN's gross incompetence.if you cant even shoot straight at a fishing boat{thank God for that},how then will you defend your vast coastal region from the staggering explosion of pirate activities in the south african region?
Again at night small boat looks like small boat. So before speaking join the navy or even become a fisherman.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 10:28am On Apr 04, 2015
EVarn:
oh oh....doesnt both frigate and submarine have surveillance installations to detect what was a target drone and what wasnt?
At night small boats look like small boats. You struggle to identify a specific boat. Sure they can find a boat but you struggle to say what it is.

14 toy radars that have no armour or self mobility....and no defensive weapon.

You try go near a Shilka or RASIT and see fire
.
14 radars that can be flown where needed in a helicopter or driven there In a APC. Once in locastion it can be concealed and operate with out fear. That's why they manportable.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 8:02am On Apr 04, 2015

Show proof, you have ONLY ONE Ratel until proved.

Nigeria has :

2 units RASIT.....40 km range

30 units Shilka.... 20 km range

16 units Roland.... 18 km range

Dozens of Toyota TV surveillance

We have over 70 vehicles for surveillance. You can NEVER match that number ! We rule battle space !
.
You do know we build radars. We built the Ratel observer so please we have as any as we need.

That is the full operational arsenal and battle fleet of South African navy....nice confession
.
One um boat in PE one strike craft in Mozambique and a second frigate was at sea the same time. So please cry me a river no navy is 100% ready not even the a navy at war.

systematic analysis along with a healthy dose of common sense reveals that it was the SAN that ruthlessly chucked out deadly munitions against the innocent fishemen.
afterall, only an incompetent navy wouldnt be able to discern a target drone from a civilian fishing boat.
Well then I did some check up and found you to be a idiott

It was SA navy alright. Your newspapers know, your citizens on News24 know, hell...... even the navy is well aware they took the In-Fatal shots.
Yet no where In the article do they say how they back up the heading. I mean there reporters. They don't know a tank from a APC or rifle from a machine gun.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 9:09pm On Apr 03, 2015
EVarn:
And the best thing to do is to shoot at them?,jesus, these people pay tax!,they are citizens who should be protected at all cost.
The SAN clearly failed to properly secure the area for the naval exercise, and it would be sensible to conclude that the SAN,in a fit of unholy rage, opened fire on the fishing boat. But they ended up missing the target due to incompetence.
Again who said is SAN and who said they knew it was a fishing boat and not a target.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 8:20pm On Apr 03, 2015
EVarn:
why was it only one vessel that fired at the fishing boat?,there were about 3 or 4 vessels in the exercise, only 1 vessel was south african, and only 1 vessel shot at the civilian target, therefore, wouldnt it be accurate to conclude that the ship which fired at the fishing boat was SAN?
Nope. If they thought it was a target drone then the fireing order does not go by country.

through a systematic analysis of the event.isnt the area of cape algehes under the south african territorial maritime authority?,then whose job is it to secure and lockdown the area for a naval exercise?,do you expect the germans to do that for you?
Have you ever tried to lock down a piece of ocean. I have. Fishing boats ignore radio commands and nav warnings.

It is almost certain that it was the SAN that fired deadly rounds of munitions at the innocent fishermen.afterall,it was the germans leading the exercise, while it was the job of the south africans to secure and lockdown the area to enable the procession of the naval exercise{which they clearly failed in doing}.
And you know this how?
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 7:55pm On Apr 03, 2015
EVarn:
hehehehe....when in doubt, blame the germans?.lol, did the germans make a 8000km journey into your territorial waters just to come and start shooting at fishing boats?
Both south african and german navies were both undergoing naval exercise in the area, why blame the germans?.
2 Germans vs 1 SAN. Odds are German.

To clear this up on the boat. This is not the first or last time a civlian boat was shot at by a warship.

What variants are we getting? cause that will determine if we should still be getting T-72s or just move up to T-90's. Also if we are to start getting T-72's in such large quantities they better set up a factory for local production under licensing.
You getting second hand T72s. Not new builds.

lohatla is just one of the two training facilitie for all types of warfare located in the southern hemisphere, where does it say that SA has the 2nd biggest training field in the southern hemisphere?.
my use of the word "installation" was figurative.
how can you mistake a fishing boat for the target drone{which you missed anyway}?,didnt you say that all your warships has "advanced" binoculars?.If even with advanced binoculars, your navy cannot tell the difference between a target drone and a fishing boat, then there is clearly something wrong with your military doctrine.or has HIV clouded your eyeballs?
It is not of the same type. I keep forgetting if rodewaal or the Denel site is bigger.

At night nav lights look like nav lights.

Who said it was us.

Depends on the Training some tools may not be used.
