I posted pics of her, spoke to her crew, meat the Chinese people sailing with and can confirm she is not stealth. Sure not big on the radar. But stealth she is not. Still she is a nice patrol boat. But the choice of a giant orange life raft is odd to day the least. |

agaugust: SAN has only one Frigates for war today Define ready for war. If it war then we have 2. SAN runs on very strict standards. According to civlian standards just about all our ships are sea worthy. But to us we need the primary system and all the back ups working. If one bilge allarm is broken the ship can't deploy. All the engines, pumps, genorators, extra have to work for us to deploy. This high standard is of course can be ignored if the situation is dire enough. |

Nigerian Army Trains Current South African Officers In COIN war combat !
Jaji (Kaduna), NIGERIA - A total of 103 counter insurgency operatives from Nigeria and nine other African countries have concluded a four-week intensive training on internal security.
Graduation of Basic Counter-Terrorism Course for soldiers of the 70th Regular intake in Jaji
The training, which was held at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Kaduna State, drew participants from 11 agencies and organisations, as well as Senior Course 36 of the college. Other participants were from South Africa ,Togo, Cameroon, Gambia, Burkina Faso, Benin Republic, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Ghana.
The Commandant of the college, Air Vice Marshal John Ifemije, said on Friday at the close of the training that it was meant to enhance the preparedness of the personnel in confronting internal security challenges. He noted that "dealing with complex security challenges these days goes beyond the conventional techniques.
Ifemije urged the participants to use the knowledge gained from the training to strengthen inter agency cooperation, share information and intelligence, adhere to rules of engagement and to seek for the intervention of the military whenever necessary. The commandant commended them on their conduct throughout the exercise and urged them to remain committed to their responsibilities.
Earlier, the Director, Department of Joint Studies of the college, Brig-Gen. Benjamin Ahanato said the training code named 'EX HASKE BIYU,' was the participants to value "joint consultation, sharing of information and freedom of action."
He described the training as "a huge success," and urged them to use the knowledge gained to ensure peace and stability in Nigeria.

GAME OVER !!!
. Old news. Yes some one from south Africa was there. We go to a lot of events all over the world. But that is not training us in in any thing. South Africa trained the Dec army. By that I mean we trained 3000+ solders from there in one year. A Nigerian sailor was in south Africa 2 years ago for damage control, fire fighting, sea survival and CBRND training. One guy. Did we train the Nigerian navy? No a Nigerian came to see how we do it. I know people that did the same training in Germany. Did Germany train south Africa? No some guys from sa went to Germany for a course. Even cape verda sends people to train in other countries. I spoke to cape verda solder who trained in France. |

agaugust: The original cannon is manual, it never fires by itself, and never killed it's owner in world history as it never fires by itself.
AMSCOR made the automatic device to add on and change the cannon from manual to automatic, the automatic device was crappy bad faulty piece of junk, so it automatically turned the cannon and fired automatically and uncontrollably on it's own masters the SANDF and massacred all your Soldiers in broad day light....Chinese are better than you . Actually one did. Resulted no deaths. But it happened. The problem was found but apartheid SA was never told. |

EVarn: HELICOPTERS DROP FOOD AND ARMS FOR BOKO HARAM . . http://leadership.ng/news/407049/helicopters-dropping-arms-food-boko-haram-idps . . Residents of baga and munguno have claimed seeing 'big' helicopters dropping arms and food supplies into boko haram camps in borno state of nigeria.the leader of the CJTF also confirmed sighting an helicopter hovering over munguno,"i saw an helicopter hovering over munguno barracks, but it didnt drop a single bomb.later i saw another helicopter come, then four people came down out of it using long black ropes, then the helicopter went away again.",according to him, many of boko haram fighters are foreigners, especially chadian arabs,he also claimed that it was the foreign fighters that engaged troops in munguno barracks.it should be recalled that last year november,a military helicopter containing arms, cash and some foreign personnels, crashed in gombi, borno state, but the military authorities denied any involvement with both the helicopter and its content. If true it shows the level of boldness in BH. They don't control the skies. I mean we might joke about naf but they do have alpha jets and hinds. So the fact a chopper is willing to violate the battle field is something. Of course BH will now have forghin forces. They probably going to get guns and other gear from Libya. |

agaugust: 1 million is figurative, you should know that.
Means we can build as many Igirigi as we can get engines to buy, Ford will give us 50,000 engines if we pay. DICON can produce 100,000 mortars if we pay.
All am saying us equipment you don't have in arsenal is never counted as military might, world military power ranking sites don't count DENEL products unless SANDF has them in service after purchase. DENEL won't give you free weapons, they ran into heavy debt and almost collapsed around 2012 untill government used cash to bail them out.
No free DENEL drones for you, SANDF does NOT have any Seeker drone in service and NO Mokopa missile that the drone is designed to carry.
You have neither the drone nor it's missile, Nigerian air force has combat drones armed with missiles so we are superior to you in military technology, your SANDF is a rag tag photographers club . Pay with what money. Your APCs are based on commercial chasies you don't make and use engines you do not make. Made from metal you do not refine. Many of the systems I am talking about do not need to be made. They built. In 1991 Saatchi gave denel all there seeker drones and denel has flown them ever since. The cheetahs are all so with denel. There are even talks about bringing back some of our over 1000 Eland armourd cars back to active serves. We have over 2000 buffel APCs and countless other gear. These weapons are not listed in our orbit of battle but they still there. |

Henry120: For what it's worth, you weren't missed.
Denel owns drones doesn't equate to the SANDF fielding them, or been able to afford them.
In the Ukraine, their Defence manufacturers export state of the art IFV, Tanks, LAV's, while Ukrainian troops ride in pick-up trucks and "back yard/amateur welded buses".
Do you know why this happens?........... it is because, just like the SANDF, the Ukrainian government is broke, and cannot afford to properly equip the Ukrainian military.
The Fact a defence company makes something, doesn't equate to your military fielding them. then why was my name mentioned. all so I am now a officer not a chef? Amazing since I am neither. The Seeker 2 has spent more years being flown by denel for the SA government than was flown by SAAF. Does the ukrian defence company make enough to keep all there units fully stocked. Ukrian has thousands of stored IFV and Tanks that are still rather modern yet are not used. They sit in massive storge yards rusting away. http://ukrainetrek.com/blog/army/kharkov-tank-repair-plant/So your point is what. A few pages ago you where bragging about some none excited mutually defence pac with ukriane, now they a broke ass poor nastio? You know you buying there old shit. Henry120: I almost feel sorry for you.
SAN has 4 Frigates, correct. However, SAN can only afford to keep 1 Frigate at sea. In south-Africa, grounded is just the same thing as decommissioned. Look at your A109's, all grounded. They spent more time grounded than in the air.
"Why does South-Africa even bother with a military"?......... it's absolutely no use. We have had 3 frigates at sea in short span of each other. Right now we have 2 that can go to sea with a 3rd in Durban in the final stages of her refit. A109 are not grounded. There is one doing rescue work in Mozambique. Why does Nigeria buy new gear. BH only steals it. |

overhypedsteve: we ve been arresting pirates off the gulf of guinea, we don't blow them to bits. Even if its a patrol vessel it could have been armed with missiles but what role will it serve? or you think we re ready to refrigerate an high cost asset to just sit down and wait for decommissioning. Smaller boat ve being armed with missiles, so when you see us doing what we do, you should know there is a Y for this X Hardly the point. When I left here last Nigerians where still claiming it was a frigate that could take on our valour class. The fa t it has no missiles is not a insulting. Our frigates put boat davits on the missile deck. Since missiles are not needed for peace time patrols. |

SANDF does NOT have Seeker drone in service, so you have nothing comparable to Nigeria's armed drones in service . They operated by denel. Denel is run by the government. Thus we have them. The very first oprastional use of Deon in Angola had it being flown by civlians just like the drones in the Kruger park. |

bidexiii: I'll rather stick to my bmp-2 with an armor plate ;33mm(1.3in) with a little compactment than a ratel badger with armor plate;20mm(0.79) . When an RPG-7 hits u ; d second hit is going to roast you, because its an anti-tank self propelled rocket, they never said anti-infantry fighting vechicle, so bro in d realty u jump out for cover with ur rifflej bmp-2 or ur badger ratel can't withstand more than 1 hit ! But I'll rather go for a bmp-2 than a ratel !.... Its not about d size its the protection and firepower bro, even the U.S.A army now produces its own rpg(Airtronic) variant cos they understand its dangerous, effective proven, easy to maintain, cheap and light to carry for foot soldier to carry about.I rest my case ! 33mm is only for the gun mantel. A very small target. For the rest it is under 20mm. Combat reports have had 12.7mm fire get through the frontal armour. Being small means you don't have space to keep extra supplies, ammo and what not. All so while you are a harder target to see you your self struggel to see if the dence vegtastion. Of course every AFV has there draw backs and plus sides. The BMP2 does fit a lot a war fighting machenrie in to a small packeg. |
