God save us from Nigerians !!!!! |
Andro Blaze: An explanation of how it differs would have been helpful since you already realise that you are talking to a non-muslim.Ah, just realised I read that bolded part wrongly, thought you were alluding that the Islamic view of her creation differs from the Judaic view. |
abubello: my own question for you is which surname did Adam (AS) himself bear?I don't know, I was not there. But if you are asking me how he is identified in the Judaic/ Christian belief structure- I believe the Bible does not use modern surnames until around the New Testament (when Roman and Greek influence gets involved). So usually all the eminent people mentioned are usually identified as the "Son of.....". Only Adam gets the sole distinction of being exclusively identified as the "Son Of God" (his surname). Even Jesus during his lifetime is identified with more than one surname. Anyway, going back to the root of my question, Eve is not identified as the "daughter of God" (though her creation is explicity detailed) but as the wife of Adam. |
hadbak: ^^ Hauwa is Hauwa. Plus u should understand that ha creation differs with ours n canot be compared. Besides there r no verses frm d scriptures that says she was called Hauwa Adamu/somtin. No doubt ha origin is from Adam bt that doesn't means he fathered ha, she was only a part of him from creatn. If there was a need for ha to hav a surname God cud hav made a provisn for it..An explanation of how it differs would have been helpful since you already realise that you are talking to a non-muslim. |
Fellonigerians: A man writes a book of his opinion about his country, and other people are telling him that his opinion is a lie... To top it off, the people are telling us their own facts without backing it up... Worst is that people are actually believing the rebuttal, without even seeing proof or confirmation of the facts... Tribalism will always blind us in how we live our lives...Must you write a reply?? I mean seriously were you forced at gunpoint to post this garbage ?? You claim a man writes his own opinion and people are telling him his opinion is a lie... ehen in your educated mind this is not possible?? Some people (whom later became the majority) use to have the opinion that all black men were animals, sub par human beings- but a few intelligent people refused to accept this belief and used practically all the branches of knowledge available at the time( religious knowledge, History, Medicine, Science, general common sense etc) to prove that crap opinion wrong- so I ask again Mr Man WTF is your point?? Please if you are too lazy to read the OP and have nothing to add please shut up and let me read people who can think for themselves- which seems to include everyone except those like you who regurgitate that stupid line. |
van bonattel: That is the crux of the matter, that only light weigh, unknown guys are disputing the book.:sigh: Is it asking to much for you to read the original post, at least before you become Voltron "the defender of your people": However Igbos in the East did not sit idly by. They started the massacre of innocent Northerners in their midst. Achebe chose to ignore this account since it doesn’t serve his agenda so we return to Azikiwe: “Between August and September 1966, either by chance or by design, hundreds of Hausa, Fulani, Nupe and Igalla-speaking peoples of Northern Nigeria origin residing in the Eastern Nigeria were abducted and massacred in Aba, Abakaliki, Enugu, Onitsha and Port Harcourt.” It is important to note that these Northerners never published nor circulated irreverent or taunting pictures of Eastern leaders unlike the Igbos of the North, they were just massacred for being Northerners. The government of Eastern Region did not stop these massacres. Neither did the Igbo intellectuals. Ojukwu, the military administrator even made a radio broadcast saying that he can no longer guarantee the security of non-Eastern Nigerians in the East, Easterners who did not return to Igboland would be looked on as traitors. This was when Professor Sam Aluko who was the head of Economics department at University of Nigeria, Nsukka and a personal friend of Ojukwu fled back to the West. Azikiwe continues in his book: |
Interesting....... But I have a question, based on the Islamic view on creation. Is Hauwa deemed to have been created from Adamu ; and if it does agree with the Judaic version, what surname then would she have borne according to the majority Islamic opinion on here (that women belong to there fathers and not husbands) ? |
If only your leaders had pursued free education and gender empowerment as much as they prioritised policies of domination, you'd be able to figure out simple arithmetic as well as you abuse: the world's population= 6-7 billion 1% of that = 60-70 million 0.86< 1 igbo regular boast= we are the biggest ethnic group in AFRICA @ 70 millionwww.nairaland.com/521235/worldwide-igbo-population-around-70 more realistically and scientifically=18% of nigeria's population ( 18% of 170 million) 30 million ( CIA factbook) Now over to that mouth of yours........ |
The sad thing is this just confirms what I have always believed.... Nigerian leaders have always known what is right, they just continually choose to do what is wrong. Look at them playing with the fate of 200 million people like draughts, only God can forgive these sins. |
OkparaIgbo: Well the truth is that in Nigeria especially these days, it is clear that everyone should answer his/her fathers name first before considering the entity nigeria and anyone that thinks it's a lie is on a self destructing deceit. So me these days I am Igbo first of all before Nigeria and that is the way I will like to keep it.Its a free world......... but I wonder where Obama would have reached if he considered himself Luo first; where would Emily have reached if she mentioned she was from Ogun state first; and Rawlings have reached if he continually mentioned his scottish heritage? One day, hopefully, we will start seeing the big picture in this country. |
OkparaIgbo: Ok I couldn't really bother going through all that however I based my judgement on her looks and her names Emily Victoria seeing that the Igbo's have been always accused in this forum of giving their kids english names..lil did I know that the fingers pointing at someone else has 3 more pointing at him..Fair do. I just wish the people who started this could have first congratulated her as a Nigerian before bringing out the Tribal card. On all the fillipino links I saw, she never seemed to ba ashamed of identifying herself as a Nigerian/African, not some local Yoruba/Igbo/Urohobo girl. |
OkparaIgbo: I haven't seen any evidence to say she is of Yoruba decent and I will like someone including the person claiming facebook to provide one. However I guess Oke is a universal name and so could easily be claimed by any tribe and also as already said here she looks Igbo, lil wonder I thought she was.Oga what more evidence do you want, is facebook not freely available ? :smh: You want to claim someone but you don't want to work for it shey lolAnyway if you google her name, her facebook profile comes up, on her wall where people are congratulating her she drops a message in beautiful English thanking everyone for their support. A guy who seems to have a full filipino name comments on it and congratulates her and reminisces about her father Olufunso's student days and the politics they played. Out of the people who liked that particular comment is an Olufunso Oke Jnr (who also happens to be a half Filipino and Half Nigerian). Clicking on his profile a look at his photos shows him visiting Nigeria in 2012 and visiting Oke Snr in his full Igbo attire All this, powered by google, using my phone, took a grand total of 5 minutes. Anyway, like people have pointed out, it's Yorubas who mainly bear Oke as a surname and all the Igbos I've met who bear Oke use it as a first name..... but I'm sure you all knew this already. |
Facebook suggests her father's name is Olufunso Oke.... what a beautiful Igbo name. |
She's definitely half Nigerian, google says so. We can be proud of her and not because she won a beauty pageant, but because she's been through a lot of discrimination and inspired people in her land by doing so. www.theinvisibleandtheunheard..com/2013/01/dare-to-be-different-ft-ms-emily.html?m=1 |

otokx: They should increase the price if soGod will forgive you. |
blackchild09: yeah true but I think its because the G300 came out before the P1, the P1 is a great phone dual core etc can't wait to lay my hands on it is it not officially out in Nigeria? It's def a great phone and as I've been using and selling new Huaweis for a while I have not had a single regret or a single customer complaint. Will seriously look at bringing it on here but one thing for sure is it doesn't look like it'll be cheap. |
mykel010: Bro... Ur number is off and i've sent u a mail.Bro if your email is who I think it is, I have replied you. |
Brainrex: nice phone i have 25kYou'll have to up that to what's on the board and then give me the call. |
blackchild09: Hiiii I guess you deal with huawei products please do you have the huawei ascend p1 and how much does it cost?Sorry bro, don't have the amazing P1 yet but it is something I am strongly considering. TBH I picked the G300 over the P1 because it had such a strong european community/followership behind it- and those of us really into Androids knows that allows us to enjoy the phone more with different custom ROMs and support for it. But the P1 community seems to be growing fast too. |
