beopened: Some of you reason in a most funny manner
I thought silly PDP says he cant remember his phone number......but he was able to furnish us with his Exam number 53years ago
And to your remarks about him not having any copy of his certificate in possession,it shows you dont understand how Military coups are conducted.....any Military personell affected is majorly rough handled, properties striped, ransacked, looted and even destroyed. You would be lucky if not killed and other atrocities meted out on your wife and children
Anyway now that we have his EXAM NUMBER,i believe archivists should be bombarding Cambridge which was the body which set the Exam then and not WAEC as people have been erroneously and hatefully peddling will make available or confirm Buhari's claim What are you talking about? Does it not sound unbelievable that someone can recall his examination number, something issued over 50 years ago, but cannot present any solid evidence of sitting for that exam? No certificate but he can give you his exam number? Are we still going with his "IBB ransacked my house" story? Anyway all that I need to assume that this release in authentic is for a credible source to be stated and a mention of where it was made. Till then we will treat as fake. |

Is this a hoax? I would like to believe this is genuine but no mention is made of the source or where this press release was made. Funny thing though, how come in it Buhari mentions his exam number yet he is not in possession of even one copy of the much sought after certificate? How was he able to remember that one? LOL!
Anyway nice try. We await real developments on this matter. |

Kudos to the OP! This is the kind of spirit we should encourage in this election. Here is a party supporter openly calling for due process to be followed in his party, it lends credibility to his efforts and shows that his desire for change is genuine.
To all others who say that they don't care what their party candidate presents by way of qualifications I say it means that they are driven by insincere motives.
Buhari should follow the laid down procedure if he wants to contest for president, all these tales concerning the whereabouts of his school certificates harm his campaign unless he puts it to rest by explaining what really happened. His credibility is at stake here, let him do the needful and end this needless drama. Nigeria has other issues to address.
Well done Barcanista. |

Kenai: No responsible government that wishes to embrace an Open Market economy would be running oil refineries in the 21st century. Jonathan's team is working on taking those refineries off the government's hands and into the hands of private sector, because it's the more logical thing to do. The Soviet Union was a superstate that had its refineries run by the government. Do you want to know what happened to them in the end?
Berem, you're an economic illiterate who knows nothing about the intricacies of building a developing economy in a 21st century superstate like Nigeria, so shut the f0ck up and stick to selling your curtains! You can pass your message effectively without resorting to dirty language. You already have the advantage of verifiable records and logic on your side so please do away with the abuses it dims your shine. I say this because this is just an election, after now situations may arise where we may have to deal or interact (on or offline) with some of the people who do not share our viewpoints. It is best we keep things civil and respectful. Keep up with your nice posts though. Cheers |

Buhari should have stated in the begining that he got into the army based on a recommendation letter from his school principal and avoided this scandal that may have cost him some votes. Now this development has increased the workload of his supporters who now have to spin this recommendation letter as fair and acceptable practise. |
Politics › Re: Buhari 'Not Sorry' For 1983 Coup: Does Corruption Justify Military Action? by ApexTitan(m): 4:38pm On Jan 20, 2015 |
ISpiksDaTroof: So, if the Government is tyrannical what should be the proper recourse if the ordinary people are powerless to effect change? Certain democratic Govts ---i.e the United States--- have provisions in their constitution encouraging an overthrow of Government for the above reason. A coup was necessary and practical in December, 1983, it is not necessary in Jan,2015. Stop inciting violence. Nonsense. No democratic society has provisions or makes allowance for the forceful takeover of government by the military. Progress and growth is achieved by strengthening and engaging the democratic institutions not by banishing or throwing away the democratic system. It is an irony that Buhari who is an unrepentant enemy of democracy wants in on the system he once destroyed. What is even amazing is that many Nigerians because of their disappointment with the current leadership are hailing this ex dictator as their messiah. |

Politics › Re: Certificate Saga: PDP Rejects Buhari's Explanation, Demands His Certificate by ApexTitan(m): 11:03am On Jan 20, 2015 |
EnigmAries: Now, this's what you'd find at the back of every WASSC "the West African Examination Council will not issue any copies of the original Certificate". And on my school leaving certificate "...if lost or destroyed, no copy will be issued". Same on my B.Sc and others. I don't know what's on yours. May be you try damage one of them and apply for another one. To even think someone who attended the Military Training College in kaduna; the Mons Officer Cadet School in the United Kingdom; and the Army War College in the United States has no school Cert is moronic. My father was a retired General and what I'm certain about is that, while you can be selected to study in the War College by quota system of federal character, Sandhust will not accept you without requisite qualifications. If PDP are sincere, they should go to court. If his WAEC certificate itself is destroyed and he cannot get a reprint I'm certain Buhari's secondary school can issue a statement of result, that's just as valid as the certificate itself. (I know for sure also that my Bachelor's degree does not bear any statement saying it will not be reissued if damaged.) Unless the report was false PDP has indeed stated that they will be taking this matter up in the courts. Until then people will continue to make all kinds of speculation just because Buhari let this linger for so long. |
Politics › Re: Certificate Saga: PDP Rejects Buhari's Explanation, Demands His Certificate by ApexTitan(m): 10:08am On Jan 20, 2015 |
EnigmAries: When you lost certificates, you go to court for an affidavit stating how it got lost or damaged. So if PDP is not satisfied with the affidavit, they should approach the court, not Buhari. For God's sake, is not as if he's seeking an employment or a favor from them. If you lose your certificate the proper thing is to go to the certificate issuing body and request for a new copy, getting an affidavit is a temporary solution. For someone who is running for the office of the president one would assume that Buhari would have sorted this matter a long time ago. He should go to whatever school he attended and request for a new copy of his certificate. Surely the school will be obliged to help him, which school will not want to cash in on the fact that one of its former students is vying for the office of the president? Buhari's insistence that he has fulfilled the INEC requirements even when these questions remain is damaging to his cause. |
Politics › Re: Certificate Saga: PDP Rejects Buhari's Explanation, Demands His Certificate by ApexTitan(m): 9:48am On Jan 20, 2015 |
This isn't right. If the people who are clamouring for change continue to overlook this matter they are indirectly showing everyone else that their motives aren't genuine.
The same goes for people who say that they don't care what Buhari presents or that this certificate issue is irrelevant, they thereby indicate that they are willing to bring about a change built on deception and dishonesty. Nothing lasting can come from deception.
Buhari should come clean on this certificate issue: present it and end this saga or tell Nigerians the true situation of things! |

PDP and APC are both responsible for the situation the country has found itself in. The funds from ECA was disbursed to both PDP and APC states.
This is also an opportunity for the opposition to inform Nigerians how they intend to do things differently than the incumbent leaders, tell Nigerians how their plans will be better than what is in place. |

Rareantagonist: Brethren, This is a desperate and urgent call from the throne of Grace that the brethren in Christ are about to make the greatest error of their lives by selling off their kingly heritage for a mess of pottage called "change". Change into what? Change into what happened to Egypt , Sudan, Lybia, Algeria and Turkey which were once flourishing Christian countries but because the brethren there also sold their souls on the premise of "it does not matter" they became the last set of Christians in those countries! Remember Turkey! It was the beautiful Christian country called Constantinople! Today it is history! The foundation of the planned islamisation of Nigeria was taken in 1989 in Abuja by OIC. Since then they have not looked back! Our Government gave them a contribution of 21 billion dollars then! Wonder then where the funding of boko Haram is coming from? They have painfully now infiltrated one of the biggest denominations in Nigeria and offered one of their best Pastors -a Professor,a Vice presidential Slot! Now a larger community of that denomination now promotes this "change"! They did it in Constantinople ! Remember brethren, that the biggest denomination of Christians in the North - the EYN has been wiped off! All their churches burnt. You may say that it is the North it can't get here! They said the same thing in Sudan, Libya, Algeria and Constantinople! How come the brethren have become so dulled in the Spirit that they no longer are sensitive? We may be the last Christians in Nigeria if this grave error the brethren is about to commit is not averted! Our Lord Jesus is greatly miffed by our irresponsibilit y as His Followers! How come we no longer hear Him! The Great shepherd of the Sheep! How come that Christians have forgotten that this country was made ungovernable by these same people and Christians are holding the wrong person responsible? How come? The signs of the eventual Islamization of Nigeria are awash in the 1999 constitution where Islam, Sharia are mentioned more than 100 times.! Not a single mention of Christ or Christianity! You say it does not matter. Now, mark it you cannot amend the constitution without a bitter progrom! Brethren, the night is here! We must contend for the faith and our heritage which was handed once and for all to us by our maker! Don't relent, sound this trumpet....We will not be the last Christians in Nigeria! Amen. You fail to realise that spreading untruths in the name of Jesus is a transgression that attracts heavy repercussions: Nigeria did not give the OIC $21bn! Constantinople which is present day Instanbul has been largely Islamic since the 1400s it did not emerge so from any plot to islamise the world- a modern day agenda of fanatics. Besides there are still Christians in Turkey today. You are using your religion to spread propaganda in the same way that you accuse followers of Islam. The teachings brought by the Lord Jesus Christ and Prophet Muhammad should not be dragged into the dirty schemings of politics. Leave them out of this. |

knightsTempler: I posted this earlier in similar thread open earlier.
France is one of the imperialist regimes destabilizing Sub Saharan Africa. France is using Chad and Niger, which are franca-phone African countries(colonized by France) to militarily wrest the "oil rich chad-basin region" owned by Nigeria , but claimed by Chad. It is in Frances' best national interest that the oil region goes to either Chad or Niger. Hence, about 50% percent of Boko Haram Islamic guerillas are using Chad and Niger militia mercenaries to fight Nigeria, and both countries with nodding of France are save-havens for the Boko Haramites. The weapons being presently claimed by France is in fact meant for Boko Haram jihadists based in Chad, which is where Boko Haram has its arms depot; and all Nigerians know that the sophisticated weapons being used by the guerillas are being supplied to them by the France, Britain, Russia, and United States business men arms traders. Also, the Arabs whose masonic objective is to Islamize Nigeria by next 30 yrs is funding the Boko Haram. Ask yourself a question; Russia is presently under economic sanction by European and American governments, so how come is Russia supplying arms to France? That's a complete nonsensical lie , and shame on President Jonathan if he should let go the plane. In fact he should declare both France and Russia , public enemy number one of Nigeria. All Russia and France's economic interests should be re-evaluated and be determined if need be. Those countries are evil and dangerous to Nigeria corporate existence. Period Where did you read that Russia was supplying arms to France? Do you mean to tell us that the Choppers in the plane were meant for Boko Haram? Who trained them to fly? Even ISIS don't have aircrafts. Do you even know what it entails to take an aggressive position against France let alone Russia, yet you want Nigeria to make new enemies? When will you people stop making nonsensical postulations about things you have little understanding of? |
