That is all some of the 'youth' in Nigeria are good for...protesting on behalf of politicians who have squandered the future of Nigerian children yet unborn....politicians whose children are right now studying in ivy league universities abroad.
Protesters, you guys should continue o, when you finish protesting, collect 5k each and go home and wait. You will be needed to protest on behalf of these same politician's children when they have taken over from their parents. If you are too old to be a 'youth' at that time, your children will take over the protest.
You see? While they have made you and your children hungry and unable to go to school, they are grooming their children to be cultured global citizens who will take over Nigeria. So please continue protesting for the wrong reasons and stay in perpetual servitude. |

I'm tired of seeing my brothers and sisters do so many years in the school including the strike years, only to come out and decide on learning a trade.
If they had been honestly advised from the cradle, them for don become masters at their chosen trades in all the years they wasted at the universities.
My daughter just buy one gigantic sewing machine now after serving the Nation, say she wan become tailor.
It is well. University education is not a waste Sha o. It is better people learn a trade in tandem with their university training, spend the holidays learning a trade, instead of relaxing at home. The university degree your daughter has will provide the finesse that will make her ten times better than her contemporaries that did not get the exposure of university. |

Eteka1: I wouldn't blame them. Those cars are low in quality, quite expensive for that matter and have a very low resale value.
Sentiments aside, I wouldn't accept them either. Given the choice between any of their SUVs and a Toyota, i would take the Toyota all the time.
The company needs to improve the quality of their products to be able to compete favourably with Japanese cars and not rely on sentiment or even blackmail to force its cars on customers. When Toyota opened it's first factory, the cars it made were for only Japanese people. But their people invested in Toyota by buying Japanese. Today, they have grown from their humble begining to what they are now. In case you don't know, asking Nigeria to buy Japanese cars, is investing in the Japanese economy, instead of the Nigerian economy. What kind of person crosses the road to go buy provisions from another vendor, when his mother sells provisions in their compound? |

Why won't be interested in secession when we are being given only 13% of what God has blessed us with? I don't even want to talk about FG appointment and security parastatal in the country. Now to say Buhari has performed better than Jonathan then only the gods and ancestors of the Niger Delta will forgive you. Before 2015 who knew miyetti Allah? When did they have a say? Wasn't yaradua Fulani too? Why wasn't he so myopic and nepotic like the dullard we have in aso rock rn. Has even one herdsman been arrested and confirmed persecuted? No reason am oboi, if you want to remain in Nigeria good, the day we declare Niger Delta republic we expect you to move your belongings to sokoto and remain there, traitors like you should follow suit. Let me put it across to you, the second best thing to do in this country is regionalization and restructuring, then the best thing that will ever happen is to dissolve this country into Niger Delta, Arewa,Biafra and middle belt republics. Don't preach rubbish unity to me, I am an ibibio man and before the arrival of the British and lugard my ancestors never knew anyone north of the river Niger and benue after the igbos and the binis, so why is it compulsory to remain in this contraption, secession is an option for the Niger Delta, if u don't like it relocate when the time comes. And let me add. No country in the world has over 200 ethnic groups and is split 50/50 across Muslim and Christian religion and has succeeded, Nigeria was destined to be in comatose, check around the world, the best countries are either United by ethnicity or religion, peep UK, USA, Canada, UAE,kwait,China, Japan, Brazil, Singapore, etc. They all have a majority religion of atleast 80% to gum different ethnicities together or they are made of atleast 60% of one dominant group. So introversion and personality forming is also directly linked with one's broth sign astrologically too I agree with you that a person's birth date points at introversion or extroversion. I however need to clarify that the last 4 months of the year are distributed between the 4 elements and only 2 of those elements, if they are In the right place will produce an introvert... |

Befii: Thanks for bringing this thread. To you who think that Iran bombed down d plane intentionally or due to lack of technical know, now u can see dat US had once bombed down an Iranian passenger plane with even more civilians on board, as many as 200+. They said it was a mistake, so do i say they lacked the technical know that they couldn't identify a passenger plane from a military jet fighter, i simply understand human error is a reality. And Israel also shot down an Egyptian war plane for the same reason Iran shot down the plane, and as usual, it's a mistake. If u want to blame someone, blame Trump cause his poor decision got us here. Most countries and people who thought Trump did well by authorizing the killing of Iranian general should hv their regret now as their citizens, relatives and loved ones are victims of this drama. Lesson is: War neither favours the mighty nor the weak, it destroys all, guilty or innocent. Trump should make peace with Iran cause miscalculation like this pose grave harm to unintended civilian target. Please go back to the post and read again. "As part of the agreement, the US did not admit legal liability or formally apologise to Iran for the tragedy"... The US never said they made a mistake or that it was an error. They just agreed to pay Iran what the international court stipulated as compensation. To further buttress the point that the US didn't see it as a error, they awarded the captain who shot down the place an award of humour for his service |

The US shot down an Iranian plane carrying 290 passengers...what can I say? Sometimes, the intelligence the US receives is flawed.
Considering how the matter was settled, It is possible the US received intelligence that the plane may be hijacked and used to cause harm. Hijacking of planes is a popular modus operandi of radical islamic terrorists
I'm sure if the US had shot down the planes that were hijacked and flown into the world trade center, the outcome of 2001 till date with Iraq and the middle East may be a bit different....mind you, there is proof that the US know those planes would be hijacked... |

Lies! Lies!! Lies!! Or should I say fake news! Or fake stories from unknown monikers that registered not up to a month ago.
I don't understand it and I'm hopeful that this is not a Nairaland problem; all these news about fake things that non existent women did. It almost feels like there is a covert image degradation campaign going on against women on Nairaland.
Frankly, I am bored and disgusted with it. There are 120million Nigerians; assuming half that number are women, how many of this number are doing hateful and disgusting things? that some oafs have been allowed to use Nairaland to spread their disgusting lies and propaganda?
I know my mother! I know my sisters, aunts and other female relatives. I know my friends mothers, their aunts and sisters. A lot of you here on Nairaland know your Mothers and female relatives, they are all good, hard working women who support their spouses and raise their children properly.
I refuse to let the antics of a few hungry, ill-bred women be used to ruin the reputation of millions of long suffering Nigerian women. Men get married everyday, more of those marriages thrive, than those that fail. What is wrong with Nairaland? Shame on all those who let these fake stories get pushed to front page because of readership and sensationalism.
If you are weak of mind, feel free to allow these concocted lies brainwash you into believing that there are no longer good women out there. We attract what we deserve, so feel free to fill your world with thoughts that there are no good spouses out there, whether male or female, while people dance to the alter and into great lives with spouses that are the stuff dreams are made of.

Then your wife can tie her tubes to avoid any accidents. My suggestion is extreme and costly, but the cost and effect of having a sickle cell anemic child is unprecedented. If you have the means. Even if it's 2 children. There are only two 'means' 1. Repeated abortions of any foetus that is carrying the SS Gene. I need not say how immoral that is...repeatedly getting pregnant and aborting the babies until she is pregnant if a healthy child 2. Bone marrow transplant from a healthy donor to the sick child, best before the child is 2years old. The younger the better. This process is extremely expensive, may not be available in Nigeria and there is the probability that the whole process could fail if the recipient's immune system attacks the transplant it has received. That's why it is best for the donor to be a healthy sibling....where are they to find a healthy sibling? When giving birth to sicklers is the problem from the very onset? |

sassysure: If u know half of what Obama administration did in Nigeria, u will vomit your guts out. Word! A lot of us who are woke know!. It will take decades to undo the havoc Obama wrecked on Nigeria, starting during Yaradua's tenure with Jonathan as vice, the Obama administration tried to site a military base on Nigerian international waters, Yaradua refused; some say that is why he didn't survive his illness, bacause the powers that be in the US decided that he shouldn't. Jonathan upheld Yaradua's decision to reject Obama's proposal to use our international waters....the rest they say is history. Yaradua died, Jonathan completed his tenure and did one tenure of his own, now Buhari is here after he's survived an illness much worse than Yaradua's. If only Yaradua had lived, Nigeria would have built on Obasanjo's tenure, we would never have needed Jonathan, we definitely would not now have Buhari. It would have been an uphill climb for Nigeria, but a climb nonetheless....not this Swift slide into the abyss we are now experiencing. I can say that the thunder that will strike American politicians like Obama and Clinton, who keep meddling in the affairs of other nations for personal gain, is still doing press-up in Sambisa. But instead I will just say that mother nature keeps the balance... |
