I have a concern though. Why do plumbers always like to go to sites with bags. Unlike every other artisans, their bag is always with them whenever they’re working.

Why?

Experience has shown us they use their bag to steal materials from site.

I thought it is only me to that use to experience it.

The septic tank is where the waste water and effluent first arrives from the building, the compartment is plastered and is supposed to be water tight. The waste in this tank goes through bacterial degradation which will reduce its size and toxicity. As the waste gets more liquefied, it is expected to start flowing into the soak away section of the system through a pipe placed in the middle wall. The flow into the soakaway is mostly water, and this water is supposed to soak away into the surrounding soil from weep holes created to leak water away from this tank. This water will either evaporate, or travel downwards as ground water which has been filtered just like all the other dirty water going below the ground.

I don't take that grace for granted. the borehole guy just was just an unfortunate person, i told him if he deliver back then that I will keep referring him to more clients... there are lots of people on this forum that i can refers with my eyes closed.. what i have learnt is that i will not receive payment on your behalf ..

i was to travelled to far east some times ago, and the client asked me to source for best plumber, kitchen cabinet, painter, pop and all for him.. i did that for him without any incentive.

Keep doing your good work. That is no way we can please people on earth.

You will need an architectural drawing before the estimate can be done. We can help you out on the drawing, did same few months ago.

I wrote my final exam in July this year, few weeks later I was in Delta when my course adviser called me to come to school (Uniben), that it's a matter of urgency, I went to school, then I meet her in the HOD office. She told me I failed two courses in my final exam. She said the department is going to upgrade one to "" then wave the other one to me but by imprecation I will graduate as a 2.2 student.
When, I thought about it if I should accept it or come back again to write the two courses (one in 1st semester and the other in 2nd semester) to get 2.1. it was a hard decision for me to make but then I made the decision to accept the offer because of the following reason.
1. Uniben is becoming too stressful/ I'm already tired.
2. The financial expenses involved
3. Economics department in Uniben is not a joke.
4. The probability of me getting "A"s if rewrite the two courses is very low.
5. ASUU and strike
Based on the following reasons I accepted the offer, result came out I graduated as a 2.2 student but some how I started feeling sad. Though 2.2 is not the best but then I also graduate myself. I can't come and kill myself ( schooling in Nigeria university is like war).
If I may ask, did I took the wrong decision?

You have made the best decision. A bird at hand is better than the one you are expecting.

In the market today, it is not about grade but grace, competency, smartness, technically know how, favor etc.

Mental Health Issues

Yesterday, my supervisor came to inform me that Peter (a very committed construction worker) started speaking incoherently and we may need to stop him from work.

Peter, a Pastor according to friends, was fully kitted in our health and safety kits but this kit wasn’t enough to protect him from anxiety and depression he’s facing as a result of stigmatization. So he decided to do drugs instead of talking to people again about his challenges.

Most health and safety policies in our companies focus on physical wellbeing of workers instead of becoming an open-book on addressing the mental health issues.

Creating enabling environment where every worker feel confident that the way they feel is okay and you're going to be supportive, not judgemental would help manage more mental health issues in our societies than spending heavily to protect their body while leaving their minds unguarded.

I’m not there to diagnose mental health issues. I’m there to quickly detect events of stressful life on my sites and counsel the person involved on the next steps to take.

This is very important because there are many government owned land in Badagry and its environment. Apart from Government owning some land, there are places that people don't really like due to one issue or the other.

So after inspecting 3 different plots, i finally pick a choice. By the way, it was discovered that one of the 3 different plots inspected was in government owned area. Thanks to the proper investigation.

I got the plot of land for 1.8 million Naira. 60ft by 120ft
