Tradition is tradition. Those who like can ditch theirs. To each his ow.. |
coputa:Yep! A massive taboo in many parts of Nigeria too though. But I have seen a guy from one the largest tribes in Southern Nigeria do same. He lives abroad but celebrated birth of his children in Nigeria a few times. But people he lived in same house with never saw him travel for more than two days in those years. In fact he had no residency papers that allows international travel. We were shocked the first time and we were about asking aloud when he visited his wife in 9ja. But one guy, his friend and tribesmen, quickly signalled to us not to press the matter. The guy later told us it was allowed in their culture. Subsequently when his other kids were born, we would just drink and celebrate with him as if it was normal. To each his own. |
Love in Nigeria these days is like a unicorn. There is infatuation or lust alright. Most people just have vested interest. In dating and marriage. Not surprising because life is dog eat dog in Africa. Every man for himself. Women love a good life. And they control may be less than 25% of wealth. So men are the easiest way to a comfortable life. Just observe how a girl's demeanor and attitude change when you do not give her money just once if she asks you. The 100 times you gave her before become irrelevant. This applies to most women across socio-economic status. Irrespective of education level. Not just from poor backgrounds If suddenly you are crippled and hopeless, how are you going to provide her with the life she dreamt of when she began dating you? If not yet married, no kids and religious leaders do not prevail on her, 95% of girls will vamoos. If married and you have amassed wealth, most will just wait hoping you will soon "kpeme". Then she can corner your wealth. |
Lol. This scheming bigot wants to outsmart SW against 2023! His own overt over-ambition and moving against Osinbajo too early when he thought Buhari might not finish first term in office exposed him. His religious insensivity in running Kaduna also exposed his deliberate and alculated depth of bigotry. |
tee59:Most Nigerian girls are not really into guys they date or marry. Fact. Some just manage the most eligible who cares to approach them. Or the one that appears financially comfortable enough. Of course the "comfortable" one might just be a poser, lives above his means or she overestimated his finances. Therefore only very FEW women marry out of love and romance. It easily shows in their overall attitude already during courtship. From attitude to sex, showing little care, etc. But a guy might be too smithen to see it. People generally see what they want to see. I know some ladies who hurriedly married the first guy who showed genuine interest and proposed. In general chat with them it's scary what they say about their hubby just under 2 to 5 years of marriage. 95% over economic difficulties. I find myself encouraging them to be patient. That things will improve. I keep wondering where is the love that made them marry in the first place? But then I realise they never even mentioned love as a reason for marriage at all. Only "I needed to settle down, my parents were worrying me to marry, all my mates were already married, my mum wanted grandchildren', etc. Women should try to marry more for love. |
Lol. Good no more serious harm. |
Rip. |
toscolee:Land size, exact location? |
LazyGold:After yesrs of discussing this matter, I have no more time for this. I will only listen to someone ready to contribute financially to proper research. A substantial amount too. Not just peanuts. |
samuk:Until people are prepared to subdue ethnic pride and sit down to collectively research Ife and Benin history there will always be room for confusion. I have argued it here for years and I have been banned for speaking up here. These days ethnic or monarchical supremacy has no relevance. Therfore nobody should be afraid of objectively researching history. But in Nigeria we politicise everything so that truth has no place. |
From top to bottom in Nigeria, it's all a cesspit of corruption. Tufia! |
Chi59:Well, she began insinuating that I didn't know when a lady loves me. ![]() It became too much "in your face". A kind of slightly obsessive behaviour on her part. Such a lady can start an unpalatable rumour in our workplace. Like saying one is gay for example. Because lots of women cannot imagine being turned down by a guy. They believe guys never reject a girl. Especially a fine girl that many guys at work were hitting on. ![]() So I sat her down and told her how pretty and wonderful she is. That under different circumstances (I actually I meant if I felt something for her, though I didn't tell her that clearly) we might actually be lovers. I guess she felt rejected, unappreciated, maybe even cheap. We began on a less friendly note at work. We hardly even greeted each other then. She also liked doing "eye service", sucking up to powerful people at work so shamelessly. She was snobbish and was dating one fuckboy that was sharking her then. A fuckboy is easy to know. I knew the very first day I saw him drop her off at work. That guy later dumped her. Although I didn't know that she had been dumped, she overhead me chatting with another girl. I was telling this other girl the mistakes girls make when choosing a guy to date. How they let vanity becloud their better judgement. Also the warning signs of a fuckboy girls choose to ignore. Only to say all men are bad when dumped later. Moments later she came smiling at me and became friendly. ![]() Maybe my earlier observation of her put me off romantically. |
tropaz: ![]() See as these your chickens dey hungry me. To use some make better egusi soup go too make sense. See 9ja man and fear of death. When the time comes, no remedy. Mallams up North that don't use casket still die when it's their time. |
Chi59:Great that you were able to remain his friend. The girl I didn't have any feelings for didn't want to speak to me again. She was too heartbroken. We were work colleagues. We have had no more contact since. Even though I wanted us to remain friends. I guess I was too honest to her. But I didn't want to string her along. |
IamD18:Even the elite are not left out. If others are not suffering, how will they feel that they are special people? The real elite of Nigeria will use the presidential wing or ushered in with special treatment. We need a more egalitarian society. But that's a long way off, if ever. |
Excaperx:Lolz. Abeg nor start tribal here again o. Ekaladerhan/Imadoduwa/Oduduwa matter never finish for ground. You wan bring crayfish own again. ![]() |
Well the guy is a gentleman. It happens to every fairly decent guy. Only he goats who will sleep with anything never experience such. A girl can be super gorgeous, intelligent, hardworking, decent and everything. But no sexual attraction. No spark between two of you. She might be great to hang around with but you have no romantic feelings towards her. Best is to remain dear friends and move on. |
OgaGist:Wtf! |
Waiting for the day a Western president or prime minister will serve kola nut or schnapps at Ifa or Sango shrine. Until then, we are mere religious and cultural slaves. Religions emanating originally from the most brutal parts of the world till today are supposed to save us. The oyinbo that brought their religion have left it behind. To red necks in America, other supremacis :ots of blacks carving out empires. Catholic and Anglican are merely cultural artifacts in the West. 100% sure most Africans in their typical zealotry and lazy minds will not get my message. Just like Victorians wouldn't have about 150 years ago. |
Nice |
haywhy009:I guess they meant 13 months after first marriage marriage ended. His first marriage lasted 2 years. They phrased it is a confusing way. |
oglalasioux:Lol. ![]() So that "one minute man" jibe could actually mean 100 minutes man. Why she con slash the two zeros Na? ![]() Well, as wise as King Solomon was, even he could not understand women. So Tay he compose poems and songs upon them tire. |
Whatever this guy's flaws, his maturity and dignity is magnificent. No need arguing with a mad person in the market place. They will not know who's made or sane again among time. If one minute action produced you a lovely son, then you are even more blessed. Some men have spent hundreds of hours on top several women, yet not even a miscarriage to show for it. |
If not because Churchill impregnated her, she would have called him impotent. Women can call an ex anything. Nothing new. In life we are bound to suffer heartache, disappointment, hurt and pain at some point. But one can go through them with a semblance of dignity. If needs be, seek professional counseling to cope. All this name calling of a man who is father of your child exposes the toxicity that drove Churchill away. |
Well hope they can name members of the drug planting syndicate to Saudi Govt. Otherwise waste of time. We know some people carry what was thought to be harmless packages for people as help in international travels. Only for drugs to be found in them. But proving it is almost impossible. Some innocent people do go to jail or get sentenced to death. |
haryomikun:I began investing in shares around age of 19. Of course little amounts that yielded satisfactory returns within a few years. Sold when urgent needs arose. Sure there are shares I wish I never sold. But I hardly had any other choice then to raise money to meet needs. But there is one major difference. I never quite had millions of dollars to blow. Money I invested was always saved through enormous discipline. If Tyson was just an average employee I wouldn't blame him because after monthly expenses, hardly anything left to invest. |
gypsey:Perhaps over a billion dollars in today's money. |
BOOOMNAIJA:Abi o. Most of us blacks just consume anyhow. No investment sense. Imagine if he invested in the nascent ICT industry at that time. Like buying serious shares on Microsoft or Apple. |
BABANGBALI:O Pari. Cross breed of Oshogbo, Ekiti and Kwale weed has entered circulation. ![]() |
