schoolboij:That is how agbero class in Yoruba land swear and runaway when fights break out. Where I come from you won't even know before I cut you down. I will not waste my time cursing a possible immigrant to Yorubaland from Benue or other Northern part of Nigeria. Those who do not know their family history beyond 3 generations back. You clearly have no pedigree let alone from a first class royal house in Yorubaland. There are many like you whose only idea of Yorubaness is bigotry. At a time the elite are marrying from across the country, you are still stuck with a medieval mindset of the poor people, since the elite and royalty always married from across tribes even centuries back. Absolute dreg that drag Yoruba name in the mud. Shame. |
So if a man has very wrinkly ball sacks, he shouid display them for the world to see? Whether you have pert or saggy boobs, that should be be your private matter. At most only your hubby shouid care about it. |
Funny thing is whichever zone any politicians come from, it does even benefit the his street or village. Never mind his state or tribe. So why the agitation along ethnic lines even? They settle their cronies across tribes only. Why not seek out anybody of anybody of any tribe that will uplift the masses? |
schoolboij:Then why not just have a country of Yoruba only? And let Biafra and others go. Since mixing with others also dilute Yoruba culture. And you said you want a country of unity and diversity? What I really find funny is that Yoruba the claim of being generally accommodating. When in fact the mentality you expressed is very common among the lower classes. I have noticed that inconsequential people among the Yorubas are the most tribalistic. The elite and aristocracy know much better. |
schoolboij:There are many trans-tribal and trans-cultural people out there. But for some reason some believe that being inbred, narrow in genetics, in culture and worldview is only what exists. |
schoolboij:Yoruba hater? I'm just objective. Most who brag here are not more Yoruba than me. Many have no pedigree or not from any Yoruba family of note. |
Elebiju:That is not disputed. I just corrected when Olateru Olagbegi III came to power. |
Elebiju:He actually succeeded his dad Sir Olateru Olagbegi II in 1999. Only that he officially got the staff of office from late Gov. Agagu in 2003. |
Ah! I can't believe it. can anyone confirm this news from a proper source? In fact let me call home. |
Gerrard59:Lol@women part. It's normal among most animals even. Females in own flock, pride, group or whatever are especially coveted alongside the young ones. Any outside male is considered a threat. A male could not be more of an "outsider" than one with a very different skin colour. Therefore black men stand out as the biggest threat to maintaining status quo. It's not so much about being desired. It's just that black men try harder while a white guy might be giving flowers for years without expressing his feelings never mind getting a kiss. Often it's the girl's VERY obvious body language that will encourage the guy to make a move. But the black man's hustler spirit nor get chill, of which 9ja guys are among the biggest hustlers. ![]() Perseverance is the key. A guy facing possible deportation knows a woman to marry is his only chance so he won't be doing mumu there. ![]() That aside, even during the days of slavery, lots of white women lured their male slaves into sex, even under durex mostly, considering their ripped physique from hard work & strength. Of course those men were usually hanged if the white wife then had a mixed race child or if they were otherwise caught. Women are also very rebellious beings. At times the girls whose families in private vilify black people the most (without any bad personal experience with blacks but just out of general prejudice) will date black boys secretly. Talk of forbidden fruit. I have seen it. ![]() |
Gerrard59:At the bolded I seriously doubt. Since 9 years of Tory government, there has been no cabinet minister among the 21 ministers that attend cabinet meetings and rule the country with the prime minister. Only junior ministers (which are actually like directors of various sections of a ministry) like the one Sam resigned from. If a black person is not even chosen to attend cabinet meetings, I see no chance of one leading a Tory government. Sajid Javid is the only non-white that attends cabinet as home office secretary. Baroness Warsi, another Asian, used to be in cabinet but had to resign over some scandal years back. Kemi has no chance. Maybe as party vice chairman at some point. She also once admitted hacking into the website of former labour interim leader Harriet Harman to plant good things about Tories conservative party on her website. Such a story will rear its head once she tries to contest for leadership. Dianne Abbot is not popular with the UK public. A woman with very obvious African features/face and not young, very pretty, slim and light-skinned has no chance. She has also too openly championed black causes. Even though Paul Boateng is mixed race, his very combatant and civil right fight in the 1980s serious affected his chances. Probably the most brilliant black MP until Chuka Umunna. Boatent at least made it into the cabinet as Chief Secretary to the Treasury (number 2 in the VERY import finance ministry) under Tony Blair. But he was then shunted away to South Africa as High Commissioner/Ambassador nearing when Tony Blair would hand over to Gordon Brown. A plot to remove a potent rival for the post? I do not know. Why do they prefer Asians? Well perhaps same reason why they'd give more opportunities across all sectors to Asians than Africans. Black males are at the bottom of the pile in Western preferential list. The black woman might be labelled as angry, but not seen as a potent rival. Black males are seen as rivals for jobs, control of resources and getting WOMEN. Black males are discriminated against far more than anybody else. Crimes committed by a few are used to tar all black men. Black men get a much longer jail sentence for same crime than other races. Judges choose the top of the discretionary jail term always for black men, while choosing the lowest or medium range for other races. These are according to research findings published often. As a black guy you just have to understand the system and know how to navigate it with integrity, hard work, tenacity and keep yourself on the straight and narrow. That way you never give them a chance to pounce on you. |
Baawaa:Well many pregnancies do not belong to the guy they marry. If first marriage that leads to a marriage like this, up to forty percent actually belongs to another man. The real owner might be husband of her aunt, friend of her dad, her director at work or some other married person that would be too embarrassing and problematic to name. So she'll give it to the most eligible of her many boyfriends. No matter what, cancelling the marriage albeit at this late stage is far better than a divorce a year later. |
My only surprise is that Omotola even considers that goons post worth replying. People that wan women only in "the oza room". Dictators do not tolerate criticism. |
Gerrard59:If you observe carefully, you see more black politicians in the West becoming more radical and aggressive in their own way. Even in America in response to Trumps' populism and demagogy. When Obama became US president it was seen as a watershed that will usher in a post-colour bias era in the West generally. But if anything it has caused a backlash from the white right wing, even pushing moderate whites more towards the right. It's not the only reason of course. Influx of immigrants, job & economic security fears and fear of Western demographics changing too rapidly are also there. But it's a major unspoken reason. The fear is there that mixed race or black people could become leaders across the West. The West would more generally tolerate Asians in power like the gay Irish-Indian descent medic Leo Varadkar as Prime Minister of Ireland. Many black British politicians probably saw Obama's emergence as giving them an opportunity to aspire more too. But the likes of Lammy, Chuka Umuna, Sam Gyimah, Afriyie and others have seen there are still very many obstacles on the way for typical outspoken black men. Irrespective of their brilliance. Umuna, once seen as Britain's answer to Obama, has broken away from Labour altogether. He has obviously given up on becoming prime minister some day. The way he even left the race to become leader of labour party years back explained the frustration. Lammy, the most visible black labour MP aside Umuna does not even make labour shadow cabinet. Jeremy Corbyn has surrounded himself with black & ethnic minority women not considered to be a threat to jostle for the top position. Sam Gyima recently resigned from his ministerial post under Theresa May over Brexit. Years back Adam Afriyie was being pushed to challenge Cameron (at the wrong time, probably deliberate to neutralise him before the right time), but he was cleverly silenced and shunted. Nobody hears of him now. Despite being the Queen's MP for Windsor, where Windsor Castle in located. The "aggression" and radical moves you're seen from black male MPs is mostly in realisation that UKIP and other populist streams in UK politics have been allow to shape politics and public opinion since David Cameroon took over in 2010. With the decision to call a Brexit referendum under durex from UK/Farage proving disastrous for cohesion of Britain. The chances of Scotland breaking away in years to come has even increased. It might even open the pandorax box in Ireland/Northern Ireland. |
From one course, seven courses have arisen. So there will just be a lot more mass com students with different degree titles. Media studies and related courses are considered the worst for employment and low pay in a place like UK. Unless you graduated from a "Red brick" university as ivy league schools are called. |
This is only partly true. One major reason is that most girls do not want technical or engineering training anyway. They are considered masculine jobs. Most of my female relatives are good in maths. Some even doing Further Maths. Two of my best teachers were women. Though one of them was an Indian lady. Parents should start demystifying maths to kids at an early age. By age 5 start introducing algebra, geometry and others in a playful way. Let them. Get used to those words early. |
Afonja007:In fact they will say she's Ipod through marriage. Most of them consider anywhere after Ijebu Ode or and the smarter ones anywhere after Ore as Igbo land. Yes I have heard if from highly educated people some with PhD. When you correct them that Edo, Delta, Ibom, Cross River, Rivers, Ijaw and others are still over there, instead of admitting their ignorance, they will dismiss them as "just minorities". So much about sophistication. |
Na wa. 5 years later, will he marry another bride? |
Nairalandmentor:If like your baby meme saying: "Lord, how did I end up in this confused country biko?" |
Vanity crew on the way...... ![]() |
DonXavi:The reason you do not see it is simple: get the rose-tinted glasses zombies wear to see all the massive development, local rice all over the market, millions of jobs created and fight against corruption. ![]() |
mytime24:That is the truth. People just do not trust the police. So they take the law into their hands. Systemic failure is fuelling barbarity. Sad. |
Nigeria was set up as a colonial scam. Scam begets scam in every facet. Fact. |
tuniski:That is the Utopia of one Nigeria that Ironsi dreamed about and centralised Nigeria. Yet it didn't appease the North and he was gunned down. We have practised unitarism disguised as federalism but failed since 1966. A diverse country like Nigeria can never work like you allude to in a democracy. Even countries that do not rely on natural resources, some regions are still richer and take in more taxes per head than others. California is way richer than Kentucky and Maryland is richer than Idaho in USA. In Germany Bavaria is way richer than Saxony-Anhalt. But all the states still work for their residents to a good albeit different wealth levels. You cannot wish away our religious and cultural differences in Nigeria. They took milleniums to form. Regions need freedom to grow at own pace. And practice differing customs if they want. Like Sharia in the North. |
Which kain nonsense be this na? RIP. The murderer in police uniform should be punished fully by law. |
garfield1:I am going to go off on a tangent a bit. Personally I support the creation of an extra Igbo State. Although I doubt if the population of Anioma or Ikwerre is enough to be another state. Unless a bordering Igbo state like Anambra across the Niger cedes some land to Anioma for example. But I cannot imagine a crucial city like Onitsha being given up. Now to your assertion, the way some Igbo people carelessly include SS in Igbo territory (even though only referring to the Igboid people therein) unwittingly arouses suspicion among South-Southerners. Not all SS people will understand that they are referring to only a part of it. Remember that Midwest (now Edo & Delta) was neutral at the beginning of Biafra war. Igbo were considered kilt & kin. Until Biafra suddenly invaded Midwest to head to take Lagos. That has always left the suspicion of Igbo expansionism. Probably same in Rivers and other SS areas. SS has the most solidarity with SE. Therefore it's very important to allay fears of SS by being careful in how they address "ownership" of areas in the SS. SE & SW basically have a similarly progressive outlook on life. But mutual mistrust has led SW to partner with the ultra-conservative North. Aside to achieve political relevance at the centre, politics being a game of number, the move is counter-intuitive. This is Nigeria's biggest problem. An alliance of the total South would force Nigeria to go regional and be more progressive. |
Richdad50:People say poverty is no excuse to commit crimes. But across the world crime is far more poor in deprived areas. The high crime rate we have is directly linked to severe poverty. So fighting poverty should be in FG's interest. But they are not listening talkless of doing anything serious about it. |
mosho2good: Sense wee nor kee that man. |
So Nigeria has no vibrant and dynamic political science or diplomacy expert with experience to represent us at the most important mission in the world. |
chiedu7:Hmmm. |
izzou:Abeg nor come kee person with laff here jor. ![]() How can a refined person like Moghalu enter the rofo-rofo pekelemesi politics of Nigeria? Nigerians, especially the youth, have signed up to suffer, to sell their votes and destiny for 5k, and be BMC goons for 30k per month, so why would any serious person want to change that? If Moghalu moves abroad with his kids, someday his grand kids could be Members of parliament or reach other high political posts in saner climes purely on merit. |
