Who decides when a person's freedom or rights should be overridden in favour of national interest or national security? Corrupt politicians who want everyone to kow-tow to them? Certainly not! In the same way the courts decide to issue an arrest warrant against an individual in public interest, same way the courts should decide. Along very clear guidelines about how, in what form, when, where, what circumstances and how long such denial of individual right should be. And only the law courts should interpret the law and apply it. |
ariesbull:When you consider that Idomoid groups have a boundary with Enugu State to the West, not surprising that linguistic & cultural affinities go back since antiquity. Idomoid groups are even touted to form a good part of Igbo people of today. |
RealityShot:Abi o. It can be fixed. All elections done 120 days before handover. All petitions tribunal/Appeal Court/Supreme Court hearings concluded within 3 months. Three months before elections, relevant courts prepare to have special sessions/extended courts. Magistrates can temporarily step in to hear cases. We have 4 years to train judges from lower courts to handle election cases. Too many campaigns and disruptions/politicking every year somewhere in the country. Costly and totally unwarranted. Better still, must sanitize the system. Ensure much more freer and fairer elections and little room for rigging and subsequent court cases. |
Buhari : Osinbande, you think that statue man over there dey dream to be president in 2023? Osinbajo: Laughs heartily,***Mr president, let him be dreaming, he will wake up on May 30th 2023. Okorocha: Thinking very hard**** Which of them should I do his statue first, Buhari or Osinbajo? |

Ok, let them port to University of Nile, Niger, Senegal, Congo or Zambezi. ![]() |
Buffalowings3:My dear, it is really bad o. Had they manged to go bury the body in the forest, that would have been the end of it. Many are not that careless. So many are killed and never known. Governors are too busy with politicking. It should not be SW only. It should be nationwide. NASS should specially enact a law in this regard. |
Gerrard59:The thing nor tire you? ![]() |
This story is a bit confusing. OP showed certain character that the guy was concerned about. Because of the stories of girls behaving badly once in the US, especially after nursing training, the guy had to check with his sisters. Because the woman can kick him out in US one day and his sisters will say Ntor! The sisters capitalized on it to push their own agenda. Relatives in Nigeria often feel they should control their relative abroad. Ceding power to a woman from "nowhere" is not something many do easily. They wanted an obedient sister-in-law but you argued that you will still live alone after marriage. Perhaps unconvincingly. Where you meant to live permanently in Nigeria or eventually join him in USA? If joining what time frame? Op wanted to avoid in-laws wahala by shying away (understandably) from living with in-laws. Depending on the ex's previous experience with women, Op might have unwittingly given off some signals he remembers as negative. If the guy has genuinely moved on, then nothing you can do. Maybe he's not your man. 3 years is much but you can move on. Tell people wedding was cancelled. They will understand. You can still met a good guy and be married within a year. Luckily you have a job. IF you can get him back, fine. Otherwise just keep going. Move on. |
omotodun1:Their eyes go soon clear. When they hit 40 and still looking for one with only 4 criteria in their list, they will know how far. Most women have just their body (a genetic lottery) to offer. Women who have averagely good physical features want a mix of Ramsey Nouah & Dangote in one man. And yet some Otondo boys or one of 92% of Nigerians earning below 60k per month want Michelle Obama + Agbani Darego + Nicki Minaj rolled into one. |
Countersam:Nor mind am. Which girl has half of that list these days? Anyone who does and over 22 will long have been taken by a decent guy. He will soon ditch that list for a new one: Fertile & available. ![]() |
