Someone who is supposedly of the caliber of finance minister could not ensure her exemption certificate was genuine. How can she ensure that companies bidding for huge govt contracts from her ministry are not parading Oluwole documents as proof of incorporation, tax clearance and evidence of track record in the industry?

Those who pushed her forward only quickly organised a high grade Oluwole exemption certificate for her. They didn't think anybody will check. And she got away with it for so long.

If narcotics were found in your possession at the airport, will the argument (without proof) that somebody else put it in your bag free you from the crime? NO SIR, IT WON'T! Let us not use tribalism to tell ourselves lies or defend the indefensible.

I have often advised diaspora born kids to consider NYSC in 9ja. Especially the final year medics/dentists that mill around.

But most point to safety/security concerns why their parents are against it.

Paternity test done in a properly certified lab is pretty accurate. You can totally exclude someone who is not the father or kid of someone. Error margin is around 0.01.

Meaning the test is 99.99% accurate. A late relatives' three kids did not belong to him. Thank God he had a child from an earlier relationship. DNA test confirmed that child to be his.

I have always said it here. Around 35% of firstborn kids belong to another man. All those pregnancies that lead to rush rush wedding. Around 25% of all kids belong to another man.

All those situations where people live in face-me-i-face-you. Hubby is long distance driver or works at night and yet the family struggles for money. Some married women will open their legs for neighbours for only 2k to make ends meet.

In a country where the law doesn't apply to those at the top, I really have to commend her for this action. What I still don't understand is; Of what use is NYSC certificate? Is it more important than a Bachelors Degree or a Masters Degree? Do they teach you about Finance or Engineering or Business admin while you're in the camp? I've never been to camp and will never in my life serve this country but from what I've heard, most people just go there to have sex. So how does not having sex for 1 year make your other schooling certificates invalid?

Well, in that case petition your MP/NASSmember to sponsor a bill to scrap NYSC. Practically many rules/laws do not make sense to many people. But break them and if you get caught you go to jail.

Whether NYSC is relevant or not, you do not forge nationally issued documents. That is CRIME in any country I know. More so a member of Federal Cabinet that runs a country. Utmost integrity is paramount. Even though some Nigerians feel above the law doesn't mean it has to be celebrated at this highest level.

I am not a fan of NYSC either. But some corpers build public toilets, some clinics, repair local schools and others in the PPA areas. Helping alleviate failure of govt.

Because most Yorubas irrespective of how many degrees they have know very little beyond Lagos. Only very few do. And the few who do will have worked for oil companies, cement companies , breweries or banks in SS or SE or schooled or married people from those areas.

Otherwise to them anybody beyond Ore is Igbo. I have seen many well educated diaspora Yoruba people up to PhD lump Edos, Ijaws, Efik & Akwa people together as Igbo.

That said you began your marriage with a very fat lie. What he thinks now is what if you had a very serious disease? What if he had married you just two years later? Would you have told him of the disease and would you both ever have had any kids at all? So he's rightly outraged, disappointed and angry. He cannot now even imagine how many other secrets you have kept away from him.

On that ground, depending on jurisdiction, he might be able to annul the marriage. Like it never happened at all. Because his consent to marry you was based on deception and therefore never should have happened at all.

On the other hand, lots of people have only two to three kids these days. How many was the man hoping to have? Did you both ever discuss that?

Well at this point there's not much you can do.

His demand that you quit your job is still part of his reaction to the shock of what you told him. You will have noticed that he has probably become slightly over-protective of the children. He wants the best for them.

However thoroughly review family finances. How will his income only cater for the family, especially as the kids grow older and school fees come into the mix? What about the fulfillment, sense of accomplishment and self-esteem your job gives you? How will you cope emotionally and psychologically if you lose all that?

To allay his fear about kids welfare, can you work more flexibly or do part-time in your current role?

I disagree with suggestions by some here on Nairaland that he's set to break you, humiliate you or punish you by asking you to quit. Far from it. He's simply trying to put things in perspective. Seeming to now feel that money is not everything. He might be feeling "let's cherish the children we have. We could easily have ended up having none naturally".

Before you go telling both families, ensure it won't anger him even more. Maybe you can involve his mentor (if he has one), or someone like a pastor.
Keep being a good partner and hope his heart softens with time.

When you have attained adulthood and:

(1) You're ready/mature emotionally, mentally & economically. That's post slaying, post unrealistic dreams, when selfishness and when nyanga have stopped.

(2) When a guy is ready to wife you.

So age has nothing to do with it. As long as you have reached adulthood. Some women & men will never reach the age to marry. Because they were cut out to be a good wife or hubby. A good dad/mum even less.
