Butterflyleo:Oh PDP built at all. Interesting. Did Buhari maintain it in the past three years? How convenient to blame Jonathan for everything. In fact Jonathan caused Biafra war, caused 1966 coups and all. Another Bridge is about to collapse in Lagos. Soon it will be Jonathan's fault. Maybe as it is Fashola's backyard, he might fix it. |

Mpeace:Bruv nor be small thing o. Their incompetence stinks to high heavens. Zombies are either too zombie, too ashamed or both to even know or accept their gullibility. They should enjoy the fish they bought in the market. |
That liar IGP showed is ethno-religious leanings too openly during elections. Even the most gentle president like Jonathan would not ignore such partisanship of a public officer. A wicked president would have sacked, frame him up, humiliate him at least for the short time left in power. I cannot remember him for anything else. A very forgettable character. |
Hmmm......Defenders of Cash-Churchism will soon flood here to defend her. ![]() |
See as the man look like Shem Obafaiye of Oga@dTop. ![]() |
Baby mama is now the way forward. Many are not ready for marriage, want no duties of a wife, so no need. Don't be a wife. Be a baby mama. A wife who cannot kneel down for hubby on weeding day, but received her engagement ring from her guy on his knees, is that one a wife? |
dominique:Let them be hyping the lady. As if we didn't know the story better. Lagos-Ibadan press history benders and twisters don start again. |
Glink2018:I knew one old man, in fact a few of them who gathered early morn morn to take shots of akpokavi in the village while chatting about what they witnessed 80 years earlier. We were kids on summer holiday. They all lived well above 100. Moderation, little stress and contentment are very important. |
DoTheNeedful:My brother this is really good news from Air Peace. I'd like to see a cup half-full than half-empty. But Arik also began international routes with much promise & fanfare. See where it is today. Airlines require a top-notch management team and discipline to survive. Due to competition, profit margins are small. FG should have thrown its wight behind Air Peace as de facto national carrier by giving tax relief and enabling conditions. Instead of trying to create a new national airline before seeking private investors. We have no enviable record of running airlines successfully so getting SERIOUS foreign investors will be hard. Just like we didn't get Vodafone, C & W, Bouygues or other big mobile companies to invest in Nigerian GSM. FG people will end up selling the new airline service to themselves, associates and friends from SA, India, Lebanon or local ones. |
RIP. |
Op, a wealthy relative gave a young lady from a modest background love, SUVs, a big house, etc. Yet all three kids she had were not his. A neighbour back in the day sent his wife to university after having their kids. After she qualified she went off with another man. That man dumped her later. And she begged in vain for over 10 years to return. Do these events make all women scum including you? Why are girls so quick to apportion collective guilt and blame for individual failure in choosing a good guy. You mentioned his averagely good income in your write up a few times. Were you probably more interested in his economic status and did not see glaring warning signs? That you did not as yet ask him for money is not necessarily proof that his job and economic status didn't matter to you. People, both men and women, get played in relationships every second. That was your turn. You can let it define you and become a horrible gf or wife to some innocent guy or move on positively. |
eDoctorr:What is the genre? |
Kimsokrates:Abi? Not by force to marry whether traditional or court. Nor do nor do, women will use their hands play enter men's hand. Lots of men nor kukuma want responsibility in this harsh economy. Is following tradition is now so detestable to woman (against both traditional, Christian and other clear religious norms) let kukuma abolish marriage. Just impregnate one or two women, whichever is quicker, get your two kids and stop. Pay to look after your kids monthly. Make we see who go suffer pass. Men are expected to pay all the bills, women even if they earn a lot, want to keep and spend theirs on inanities. If women decide to shriek away from traditional roles, men will have to reconsider theirs too. Eneke the bird said since men have learnt to shoot without missing, he too has learnt to fly without perching-Prof. Chinua Achebe. |
This one na constituted half-nudity abi na demolition half-nudity? |
MissJoy29:My dear since the dude saw waist beads and her portable waist, all he wanted was edible catering and browsing her web. ![]() Inviting her to a bar was just the first phase to get her to agree. Later he noticed that the girl was very enthusiastic to see him in their conversations (calling him baby for example). He felt he had already got the girl and she'd probably come to his house. He had probably succeeded in getting other girls he'd rated classier/seemingly harder to get that way in the past. Remember OP described him in a positive way. But he got too cocky and showed his hand too soon. Had he taken OP to a bar near his house, behaved impeccably and hyped himself some more and later that day invited her to his house, she probably would have gone with him and "we for nor hear fiam from OP". ![]() |

Lol. Recession and Buhari economy nor reach where some people dey. Na taste of party meat be their headache. |
Alejoc:Germany is generally laid back in foreign politics. Since WW2. It is focusing on business and trade/export. It is also not keen on poke-nosing in the affairs of the former spheres of influence of UK or France. Though it terms of aid to poor countries, it is one of the most sincere countries alongside the Scandinavians. |
dontbothermuch:People have not realised the dilemma Nigeria is in. We once believed in 9ja. Brought money we could have used to live comfortably abroad to invest in 9ja. People one trusted ruined all. The man has seen the hopelessness of Nigeria's case. The frustration waiting for any honest and forthright citizen at every turn. How the able and truly dedicated are shunted aside by thugs. However for the sake of the relatively miniscule number of honest and dedicated ones, one cannot give up. Your citizenship is your birthright. Nobody or system should frustrate you into giving it up. If you are disappointed enough to go this length, it means you probably love the country more than the politicians. Your heart will still bleed. How you will you lecture your kids on resilience, optimism and hope? |
hopefulLandlord:Which village people still believe such these days? At a time a woman can sell porn video on webcam right from her bedroom? So just to appear decent they go to church? Wahala dey o. Hypocrisy of the highest order. That never washed with me. Not even 20 years ago. ![]() |
With all this complain, why is it that over 70% of church-goers are women? Plus the men that go, about half are dragged there by their wives, mothers, girlfriends, etc. Very confusing. |
nazablossom:Tor! It is not by force after all. |
Mariinee:I remember kneeling down behind my friend in his traditional wedding before the brides' family. This happened in diaspora. In some cultures the groom prostrates, sometimes with his friends/people in his entourage. We did not say we're not slaves to the girl's family. We didn't say my very eligible friend can easily get another girl so we cannot be kneeling down for anybody. We followed the tradition. But I bet the guy knelt down to propose to her and she saw nothing wrong with it. It is not by force to do traditional wedding. She should have done it full oyinbo wedding. |
Kingspin:Na national cake & share the money mentality dey worry dem. How did they even determine the poorest people? The so-called poor old ladies may have kids and grandkids in America/Europe, get steady chop money but decide to remain in old family/late hubby's home. Appearing poor may not mean they are even among the poorest 5 million people. In Nigeria is there anybody who will not feign being poor when it comes to getting free money? We have no proper census records, low national ID card uptake and most have no PVC. Last time in a country of almost 200 million people, only around 28 million voted. Assuming 50 million had PVC and 12 million decided not to vote, at least another 28 to 40 million people over age 18 had no PVC and virtually no ID. Only God knows how many people from Niger & Chad are claiming the money in the North. Handouts will not solve their problems even if they were the poorest. Creating economic growth does. Singapore, UAE and others lifted themselves out of poverty through concrete economic & education policies. Not $14 handouts. |
Wilfredpat22:A late relative's three kids, all three were not his. He died soon after finding out. All the pampering, jeeps/SUVs, money and massive house the young lady enjoyed didn't stop her cheating. So it's not far fetched. For many couples getting married, discussing finances and contribution formula is still almost a taboo. It is assumed the hubby will foot all the bills. But increasingly it's becoming an illusion. The money needed to live to a decent standard cannot be provided by the hubby alone. A woman now needs or wants everything a man needs in addition to traditional female stuff. She needs a car, nice phone and gadgets too. Add that to hairdo, clothes, shoes, make up, children's school fees, clothes, family feeding cost, housing/rent, inlaws/elderly parent', commitment, electricity/gen/fuel cost, etc. A man has to have an unusually well-paid job, avenue to siphon money at work, corruption money, or an extremely successful business venture to carry such load alone. Only a few in Nigeria fall into this category. @OP, how much you need depends on your family's unique situation. No single fixed amount: First & foremost your income. It determines what you can afford. Whether you shop at Shoprite or local market. Then number of people in your family unit, location, taste/living standard you have both adopted, your plans for the future, etc. |
tee59:Well this is not as rare as you might think. Although most ladies use such lies to secure even less benefit than that lady. I have a friend whose gf used a similar story to get around 90 to 100k from him. Funny thing is if honestly asked, my friend is generous enough to give such and more. The girl said she was pregnant. Showed him the scan result. She later showed another scan after 9 weeks or so that stated that there was "threatening abortion" that evacuation was advised. My point was why not a simple urine test before going straight to scan? My first idea was that the scan was probably done to ensure the pregnancy would be dated to coincide with WHEN my guy was in Nigeria, and not when he wasn't just in case the preggy belonged to another man? To avert my friend sending her to a diagnostic lab owned by someone related to my friend that the girl knew about? Money for all the scan & evacuation amounted to the above sum. When I reviewed the whole story, it didn't rhyme. The crowd of girls she was moving with at the time probably hatched that plan. Apparently the hospital/diagnostic centre was near their university. Seems like one of those schemes students around there use to get money from unsuspecting boyfriends. Especially those they know are not averse to having kids. They first tell them the good news, then bring the need to evacuate part weeks later. But they were never pregnant. Though to be honest my diaspora based friend did not investigate further. But that scan stuff and other "trying to be smart attitude" of the girl made him withdraw. And my guy had several good plans for her. But he just sent money to enable her "do" it and cut her off. Now she has graduated, no job, moving from bf to bf. Girls should learn to be patient. 100k is nothing compared to plans worth millions of Naira my guy had ahead for her. Regarding the "wicked jeep lady" in your post, if one day the deceived man finds out the truth and hunts her down, he will be called evil and vengeful. |

MENTORCH:Oh boy dat guy go get gbedu cassava. OP nor fit resist am even after the cassava just surfaced from another poosie dive. ![]() Rest assured Op will go back for more. Even if dating another guy. ![]() |
Nothing is open in Nigeria o. Even how much your governor spends of petrol/diesel will not be open to you to know. Many women do not know categorically how much their hubby of 20 years earns per month. In 9ja virtually everything happens. Just do not mention it. Hush hush! Only when we see a headline like "Married woman dies having marathon sex with married neighbour/friend of husband in an Ikotun Hotel", then we know how far. ![]() |
