Juliusmomoh:As a first son, I am surprised by the question you are asking. I do not know the culture you are from, but you concealing such evil act is a grave sin against your family line. Never mind God, if you have any Abrahamic faith. I know you care about your dad and about his health and well-being. If you are finding it hard to tell your dad, spare a thought for his friend who knew but couldn't say. What if he told your dad and the wife accused the friend of wooing her or even of attempted rape? Women can do an awful lot to save face. By the way, if you do not get back to your dad's friend by Sunday, what is he going to do? Why such an ultimatum? Now listen. You can go about telling your dad indirectly. Call him and sit down with him. Tell him that you need his advice about something troubling your mind. That you got to find out that the adorable son of your very close friend is not his. That a mutual friend who knew but couldn't tell him all these years revealed it to you with evidence. That the friend is so dear to your heart that you are worried about his well-being and the potential impact on his family if told. But on the other hand, you would be complicit if you didn't tell your good friend. Imagine if he finds out years later that you knew. You believe that the boy also deserves to know his true bloodline. Dad, what would you advise me to do? If your dads advises you to let the sleeping dog lie, then pray over it that no sin should be on your head. Move on and ask the friend of your dad to not raise the matter again. If he says that your friend needs to know, no matter what, then schedule a family meeting. At least your siblings who can make it to attend should be present and you can tell him. When you tell him, first say it halfway. Things like paternity fraud is not rare these days. It happens sadly and people have to cope with it as as best they can. Be ready to take him to a hospital. Ideally, locate a nearby hospital in advance. Somebody should stay with him for the next few days, even if he appears to have taken it quite well initially. Good luck. |

starbuck:So you still do not understand that return of bride price is confirmation of divorce in many cultures in 9ja? In some places, bride price is even 24 Naira. A daughter is not sold but given out in marriage. The bride price is only symbolic but it must be refunded to complete divorce process. Thank you. |
Samunique:Yep, back in early 2015 when we warned Zone-Bs about 1983-85 repeating itself, they called us Tanoids and clueless. Who is clueless and hungry now? ![]() Buhari should stay till 2031 oo. ![]() People who have a covenant with suffering must vote for suffering, no matter the warning. Let them continue. |
Gerrard59:Simple. Nigeria is a country of over 200 million black people and SA has about 45 to 47 million blacks. Kenya also has about 55 million blacks. 9ja also has more sickle cell and malaria patients than any other country. We should be at the forefront. 9ja has had 61 years to focus on illnesses that affect us like sickle cell and malaria. SA blacks only had that opportunity to be in a semblance of control since 27 years. Academia and research are still controlled by white South Africans, who like their brothers in Europe and America largely focus on profit. Kenya relied for decades on tourism, a fickle source of income. They got oil only recently. To whom much is given, much is expected. 9ja has had oil money since 1959, Independence since 1960 and a large population as human resource and a source of large tax earning if prosperous. We have no excuse. |
Gaddafi1:Our people say that a child that has no shame should not be sent on an errand to the market place. He might go steal, fight or otherwise misbehave and disgrace his family in the market place. This is the case with 9ja. Our so-called leaders and messiahs are very comfortable travelling to Germany, UK, France and America for treatment. No shame whatsoever. 9ia should be a go-to destination for any disease that affects mostly blacks. We have the highest prevalence of twin births, a gold mine for research. Never mind brilliant people throughout the nation. I shake my head when I see very high quality done at UI, UNIBEN and other universities back in the 1980s in old scientific journals. In collabo with top European universities back then. Especially in Sickle cell, Malaria and tropical diseases generally. Nigeria should be able to have 1,000 people doing PhD and post doc in cutting=edge malaria research considering how many people die of it yearly. |

lexy2014:Like with other vaccines, it will protect the vast majority of people. No vaccine maker has ever pretended that their own is 100% effective. If it is 90% effective, it still means that 10% of the time it is not effective. I'd rather take my chance with a 90% or even a 70% effective vaccine than do nothing. The more co-morbidities people have, the higher the chances that one will die from any cause, even from flu virus or any mere chest infection or simple illnesses. Chronic diseases, if many in the body, reduce overall effectiveness of the immune system. Therefore, vaccination may not lead to the production of enough protective antibodies as it should. |

Ahnie my dear, let nobody deceive you. Going to church is great but there is no better worship of our merciful God than working hard to provide for the kids God has blessed you with. Let nobody who cannot dash his or fellow man or woman 5k tell you to go to church and wait for manna from heaven to feed the kids. Often it's seer hypocrisy. That lady that preaches to you on Sundays, why didn't she say Mummy Zee, ah ah kilode, today you dey work too? Take this 5k, pack your gear and return them home and follow me to church. 2% interest on 50k loan nko? Has she suggested that option to get such from any of her rich church members? Ever offered any practical help to ensure that you can comfortably afford not to work on Sundays? Mba. Nothing. God will provide abundantly for you and you will be able to afford not to hustle on Sunday. Amen! |

Cherez:A serious govt would strengthen institutions and mechanisms to check agaist any official's ability to just move govt money at all let alone keep it for two years unnoticed. If they can move govt money into dom accounts, they can also move billions into oil sector business, make huge profits and return the money later. |
Rexwalters1:My brother no big difference. He's a member of HoR and able to sponsor bills that affect us nationwide. |
emmykk:The bolded is not entirely correct. Please correct that if you are referring to 1959 election. Zik's NCNC and allied small parties had less than 90 parliamentary seats. Balewa's NPC and allies had almost 150 seats. Awo's AG and allied parties had about 75 seats. If Zik had majority, like in every parliamentary system, Zik would have had first choice to form the government as Prime Minister. But this time, Balewa had first right to be PM. Although Zik and Awo could have formed a govt, it would have denied the winning party (NPC) their right as first choice. Although NCNC won the popular vote followed by AG, the skewed allocation of parliamentary seats to the North's favour engineered by the British gave NPC alone about 132 seats (despite coming third in popular vote) and with smaller Northern parties 148 seats in total. Mind you, there were 312 seats in total. Zik/Awo govt would have been difficult to function with a narrow majority of not more than 16 seats. Considering the divide among Southern people, a few Southern MPs dissenting would stop the govt from passing laws, budgets and many more. Some bills need Two-thirds of MPs to pass. NCNC-AG govt could never have got it in government. That was the simple fact. It was mainly simple maths of politics. If the numbers stacked up, Zik and Awo would have buried personal grudges to form a govt. |
24brains:Oh boy, if we can prefer London used mobile phone to locally used, why not use London based Presido too. ![]() Since in 9ja, people decide to just officialise craze in everything, let's kukuma turn it to Yaba Left. ![]() 9ja never serious. When we are serious, the world will take us seriously again. |

may320:I wonder o. Scratching my head. I thought is has always been Ayefele. Hmmmm. Mods, do your job o, it's Ayefele. |
OP my sister one thing I want to know. The guy has moved on after breaking up, got married with kids and you are still single? Not that marrying late is bad but I guess you were a tad desperate and reconnecting with him must have seemed like dream come true. Well, it has already happened. I cannot blame only you for it. The married guy who is not ready to marry another wife (if both women were to agree, which I doubt), is more at fault. How could OP have known that he was married? After all many people get married because the woman/girlfriend has got pregnant. I do not recommend that approach but to each his own. It's common. OP, listen. The guy telling you do do whatever you want with it is basically saying: You are on your own or I don't care what you do with the preggy. Unless both of you have jointly explored all options open to you guys. Did he say he will support the child financially if born? Did he say he will discuss the matter with his wife and family if you decide to keep the baby? Do you know any of his family members/siblings, parents? If your answer to the questions above is no, you will have to make a big decision soon. Can your parents, especially mum, help you raise the child? Any sisters or aunts to help you? That way you can still pursue your career or business. Again, if nobody to help you, you will have yet a bigger decision to make. Can you have the baby and raise no matter the difficulties and give it up for adoption? I am not a supporter of abortion, but you must keep all options on the table. If possible, leave the man's wife out of it. She will be the real victim otherwise. |
marttye:Many of us disagree. It's the best thing for marriage o. How can a man only being given his true biological child be a bad thing? If a woman must donate her body to everyone out there, let her use condom. Men too should use condom if they are the dog type. Imagine your uncle, brother or son being given another man's kids to bring up and leave this world one day without his true bloodline left behind? Women should consider their male relatives' interest also, not just the woman's interest only. A relative's wife had 3 kids with other men outside. He only found out when the embassy needed DNA evidence to relocate the kids abroad. Yes, he died suddenly soon after finding out. A friend's daughter in 9ja also failed DNA test for relocation. This cannot continue na. At least if a man deliberately decides to do DNA test, he will be a bit prepared for whatever the outcome. Unlike my relative who took the DNA test as a routine but got a rude shock. Even oyinbo that we copy require that only your biological or willingly and officially adopted kids can relocate to their country with you. |
Fescoblack:Incorrect sir. You mixed them up. Fatal: Involves at least one death. Ghastly: Serious accident but no death involved. Although fatality can be loosely used to mean destruction but in road traffic accident terms, it means that death was involved. |

Hemanwel:On the average, girls are better organised. Unless a girl follows boys up and down or there is acute poverty in her family, she has fewer distractions. Far fewer girls combine studies with making a boyfriend happy, pay boyfriend's fees and accommodation from hustling or spend solid hours watching and discussing EPL or La Liga? ![]() More boys get distracted by too many things. Focus and natural intelligence result in success. Congrats to her. |
luuvlly:Well, you see it stated in my post. The main question is whether it is possible. It is physiologically possible. I remember a woman who didn't know that she was pregnant until half-way through her pregnancy. No nausea or vomiting. Of course not all women have N & V in pregnancy. At just over over 20 weeks, still no baby movement. Some even detect movement by week 13/14. Average of 18/19 weeks for baby movement, still nothing. Only symptom was kind of low grade illness, more like mild malaria. She was shocked when urine test and later scan showed a healthy pregnancy. There are always outliers or rare cases. The family of Faith can do a second autopsy just to be satisfied or if something new will be found. RIP to her. |
luuvlly:You can have an ectopic pregnancy of 8 months. Even on average around 1 in about nearly 4000 ectopic pregnancies results in live birth. You see, although rare, something called "cornual ectopic or cornual pregnancy" does occur. You may see it called interstitial ectopic in books. IF this happens where there is relative opening or space at the junction of the fallopian tube into the womb, it might have enough space to grow quite big before rupturing. In the past with less imaging techniques like scans we have now, this situation was only sometimes discovered correctly during C-section. Because it can grow quite big before causing rupturing, haemorrhage can be quite severe. Until recent decades, being able to preserve the womb when it occurs was still considered a huge success. Even now, it remains potentially very dangerous. We do not know if it was cornual or not but the pathologist evidently found ruptured uterus and blood in the peritoneal cavity. That would be consistent with haemorrhagic shock as the primary cause of death. The traditional ruler may have suspected abortion when the symptoms began. Did they argue about the pregnancy or about getting married? We will never know the human drama that surrounded it. |
TAO12:I can show you around but online. From thousands of miles away. ![]() |
My dear, please NEVER give this to your hubby for breakfast o. Even for lunch or dinner, only sparingly. Unless he's a very hardworking construction site head-pan or block carrier and he burns lots of calories at work. Haba! We want to live to look after our kids by God's Grace. Eating such food and sitting in the office or hardly burning any energy is not a good idea. |
Bia Riri Nwam, biko relocate to 9ja sharp sharp. Ofe Owerri and correct akpu will make that ya complexion even more fantabulous. ![]() |
A lot of people we see as rich from the outside are not. They have managed to appear content with their lives. They cannot really afford to help as much as others think. Some family members have a sense of entitlement. They expect the "rich" relative to help them, yet they themselves cannot help others in the ways they can currently help. E.g be available in emergency for others. Many relatives want fish instead of a net to fish. They misuse previous help given them and go about telling everyone that nobody helped them. A person struggled to get to where he is now. Yet relatives want to live same comfortable life instantly without hard work. On the back of their "rich" relative. Some rich relatives have been disconnected from their family. People now flock around them because they have "made it". Some so called rich people just want to flee from a toxic family. You cannot trust many people these days. Giving does not necessarily protect you from envious people. Finally, not everyone has a spirit of giving. Period. |
