Marvieduke: Was Saad abubakar sleeping before? So it is now he knows that Nigeria is in a bad situation.
At least the Sultan has been outspoken on it for like a year now. People like Adesina and Lai Mo are telling us that we have never had it so good in 9ja. As for most Northern elites, they would of course still vehemently disagree with the Sultan. That a privileged individual like the Sultan is speaking up is rare in 9ja.
GeneralPula: If one mistakenly hit and kill, is it a murder crime or what?
It depends. If it is due to over-speeding or while disobeying any other road traffic law, it is a crime. Usually it is causing death through reckless or dangerous driving. Of course the severity depends on how blatant the disregard for the rule was when it happened. If you exceeded the speed limit by 2km/hr or 30km/hr could make a difference.
So in many countries there are traffic cameras to monitor speed limit.
The highway code is a very serious matter. They way people flout it is very baffling. But in law courts no pity when you flout it.

Simple answer : No. I don't know where you want to study medicine though. In the places I am familiar with, 70% mark or above in BSc Pharmacology, Microbiology, Immunology, physiology, anatomy and so on is first class degree. In med surg programme 70% in pharmacology, anatomy, immunology, physiology and so on is not even a pass mark yet. Pass mark may be anything from 79% to 92%.
Unless the part time job is in a clinical environment where you can practice clinical skills. If not, don't.
One nurse posted that she is doing both. Yeah, nurses and doctors work in hospitals together but the intensity of both courses, with due respect, are worlds apart.
TarOrfeeek: What then is the job of DSS, NIA, DMI, SSS and even the NPF IU.
How can a fraudulent thief send funds to a Police officer who has been in the national spotlight for half a decade.
Do we even have a credible intelligence agency that acts preventively on people. Is there any thing as surveillance on security personnel.
Or, has this government invested only in the silence of dissenting voices and contrary opinions and ethnic witch hunt and assassinations.
Rubbish
You sabi ask kweshion sha. So you never know say the only legit business in 9ja is kwaraption? Everything that is normal in other places is opposite in "we hail thee". Know this and you will have peace.
Contango: It is depressing, not funny. People are suffering!
It was after a married woman from whom I buy vegetables from offered to follow me home after seeing shoprite groceries in my bag, that I realised the level of poverty in Nigeria. When ever I recall that day, it sends shivers down my spine.
Quite depressing to hear that story of a married woman. Heart wrenching. The thing is if one can afford, just give those in need. No matter how little and no matter how few you can assist. People are really suffering. Poverty is making people do all sorts of things.
AmandaTalks: A pastor at Winners Chapel has cried out after he was sacked for not generating enough money in his branch.
According to the pastor, mr Peter Godwin, he was invited by the state pastor and getting there he met other pastors about 40 and they were all sacked over low income in their branches.
Watch the video below from 2.44 minutes as a Living Faith Church Pastor reveals how he was sacked
Hammyaladin: I just read the headline only and I'm pissed!
If you must marry a woman with kids, do so only when you know and have confirmed from genuine sources that the husband is late (dead)
If a man is alive hael and hearty, don't ever mistake taking his divorced wife and kids. Its a charity with no reward whatsoever.
Love you say?! Love is relative my man. Don't just get to a woman cause of you love her. Check and balance iq, literacy, degree of burdening you and many other important stuff.
Ass and boobs aren't the only thing to consider ( I know you didn't mention) but i'm just saying!
God bless you. Charity without reward. Even if the hubby is late, no matter how you struggle to assist your step kids, only few ever appreciate it. By the time you have your own kids, your step kids will also feel that you did more for your biological kids. I have said so over many years in several posts here on Nairaland.
There are Millions of efulefu whites my brother. Not by colour of skin. I see them everywhere. They like to beg black people for money even. Because Na we blacks who know the ups and downs of life that give them alms more and they know from experience.
Just pray that you are lucky to be where things work and you are serious in life too.
ValCon888: I am sure she was reported by women traveling with their husbands. Look at how she pinched her nipples to seduce all the married men in first class.
OK. So she will not seduce unmarried men in first class.
This your sexological analysis nor be here o.
Why some people from conservative societies dey over show themselves once they reach more liberal societies dey funny. Make she go follow Tayyip Recep Erdogan enter plane with that dress code.
Chartey: Because they're indigenes of the state. They should leave their home states??
OK. Let them sacrifice their kids to Boko and herdsmen then. The minute those people lost to Dan Fodio and his jahadists, their faith was sealed. Only a matter of time. Their elimination already began 200 years ago.
Aside that, there are many Southern Christians still in those schools.
ppogba: The case of Northern Nigeria thinking they are using banditry and insurgency to punish the whole country is like that of the Tick digging it's own grave while believing that the Dog will be the casualty.
My advice for Southerners with kids in those schools is that the should withdraw them for safety sake.
My child is dead is far more comprehensible than my child missing.
What Christians are still doing with their kids in Kaduna schools is beyond me o. Totally baffling. No business or property owned in the North is worth more than the life and freedom of your kids.
ghostwon333: I wonder when they started using arab titles such as "emir" and ottoman titles such as "sultan", indeed the title which we now refer to as "sultan of sokoto" was called "sardauna of sokoto" before the civil war. I hate all these copy copy of other people's titles which we can also see with the "yorubas" copying of the title of the emperor of Benin empire.
People should at least preserve their ancestral titles and do away with copying other people.
From what I remember from history, Dan Fodio never used the title Sultan, he use the title Amir al Muminin (leader of the faithful). Although some called him Caliph. But he is considered the first ruler or Sultan. It was his son Mahammadu Bello who officially took the title Sultan when re became ruler in about 1817 or 1818 or thereabout.
Sardauna was not the title of the Sultan but was a high aristocratic position. Some say it means "Crown Prince". Our Northern people can enlighten us better.
As for Benin empire titles being used in Yorubaland I see nothing wrong with it. Benin titles like Ologbosere, Iyase, Obazuaye, Ezomo (called Ojomo in Yoruba nobility), Uwangue and more have been used in Yoruboid kingdoms and some Igboid kingdoms too for centuries. Of course some will argue otherwise.
vickydevoka: Jesus. Are u serious. Though I heard that Emir was brought by the fulani. So it's there own thing
Borno was the main original Northern Kingdom not conquered by Dan Fodio and his Jihadists. All other notable emirs and sarkins are Fulani. They replaced all original Hausa kings with relatives and warriors of Dan Fodio. Borno by the way is mostly Kanuri. Shehu of Borno was second in ranking to Sultan of Sokoto in colonial times in Northern Nigeria.
"The choice before Nigerians in the coming election is simple: A choice between going forward or going backwards; between the new ways and the old ways; between freedom and repression; between a record of visible achievements and beneficial reforms – and desperate power-seekers with empty promises… Our political opponents shall assail us with the fury of their desperation to win power. They will use every means – intimidation, false accusations, hostile media and more. Do not descend to their level. We must stay focused on the mission at hand – to secure Nigeria’s future.” Jonathan's acceptance speech to run for second term at Eagle Square in Abuja, Dec, 2014
